Did 5 min hula hoop, held my plank for 3 minutes, then took the extremepump class. The plan for tomorrow is to do Patrick Goudeau’s Play Ball in 4 DVD.
Annette – welcome. Be sure to bookmark this page
After exercising, stopped at the Salvation Army then Habitat for Humanity then Aldi. It was nice not to have to rush since we didn’t have bowling. Put the groceries away and went in the pool. Ceramics tonight and then mahjongg.
Heather – how terrible about your freezer! We had a lot of flies last year in the house and Vince thinks it’s from the corn on the cob that I shucked, so he asked me to do it outside this year. Actually, it took much less time to do than I thought it would. I got a recipe for lentil banana muffins that I want to try. The house looks fantastic
Wendy – congrats on completing the half marathon, even if it was under poor conditions. Why not post a pic of your medal? You’re too funny
Meg – (((REAL BIG HUG)))) I’m so sorry you’re getting the disrespectful attitude. I can’t get over sometimes how very selfish even my kids are. Some things I can overlook, but how’d they get so selfish?
Ordered a new nozzle for the sprayer I use to put down the weed killer (the old one was clogged and I couldn’t get it unclogged.) Then ordered the Crown Rewards certificates I should be getting
Karen in VA – how in the world do you keep from squeezing Joaquin to death?????
Gonna go take a shower then beddybye.

I went back to the orthopedic doctor today. Ankle is healing as it should. I am now allowed to walk in my boot. It feels good to ditch the scooter for a cane.
Karen, love the babies.
Heather, hoping for success with the house.
Meg, I’m so sorry your DD is being difficult,
That’s all I got tonight.5 -
AM exhuasted! Feel like I have been on the go all day. I know I had comments to make, but so tired that I don't remember now. Work was crazy, cooked dinner, cleaned kitchen, doing laundry, ordered stuffs for husband, caught up with you ladies!
You continue to inspire and encourage me. Thank you for the compliments.
Congrats on the new homes and journeys!
Hugs for those in need! Families are so hard on each other-SMH
Sleep well!

Just joined today, happy to find this thread though not entirely sure how it works yet. Have set a goal to lose 30 pounds. I turn 60 in mid-September so know it's not possible by my birthday, but I should have good progress by then if I do what I need to. I have a super-stressful life and a crazy job, working from home, and do lots of nervous eating.
Goals for July:
- log food every day, aiming for no more than 1200 calories
- walk at least 10,000 steps a day
Looking forward to getting to know folks!7 -
Hey Sisters, got my half marathon pics: The first one is at the start of the race when I am wearing my raincoat and the second is right as I crossed the finish line, soaking wet and wearing a beanie to keep my head dry.

Wendy, congrats on your running success. You look great.
Katie, how great that you can walk with your boot. One day at a time you'll get back to being active like you want to.
Thank you to all of you who encouraged me about my new phone. I feel infinitely better, thanks to you. The phone arrived this afternoon. We charged them and made the wise decision to wait until tomorrow morning to activate them and find out how to transfer contacts. photos, music, and apps to the new phone. I have no problem being the person who calls tech support a dozen times to make sure I'm doing it right.

Well not-so-DD#1 has really gone out of her way to be hateful. She wanted her Russian birth certificate so I said I’d look for it and the American one. Took about a week to find it, but I also got her naturalization papers and a letter from the president at the time congratulating her on citizenship. I told her (text) I could bring them over today or tomorrow. This was last week….no answer for days. I finally texted her and said do you want them or not? So she wants me to mail them. I tried to tell her why mailing these kind of documents is not wise, someone could steal her identity if they got lost. No answer for days. So then I said fine, I’ll mail, but I’m not sure of your zip code, please send it. No answer…..so I finally said I am not mailing these to you. You can come get them. Her response? “Fine, I don’t need them anymore. I have kids and I am busy and can’t be on my phone all the time”.
Also, my granddaughter broke her foot and I found out about it on facebook. I asked if she was ok, no answer. I have just had it. I’m done. I’ll set up savings accounts for the kids, but that’s it. I mean, who the hell acts like this?
Is she reacting to your current family situation? Has she been able to talk to someone about it (counsellors, etc.)?

I am away from home & only have my phone with me, so I can’t respond to everyone, individually. I made a grocery run today for chips for DH & pepto bismol for the dog. Poor dog was seriously upset by fireworks at home & had terrible diahrea. The pepto tablet really helped.
This is our first trip in the RV, and is going pretty well so far. It is quiet here with few loud noises. DH is irritating me with criticism to the point I’ve been feeling pretty low. We just loaded up our personal items over the course of a few days & he criticises me every time I have to hunt for something because I can’t instantly remember where it is. I spoke up about it & he’s gone off to the park restrooms. I hope he’ll come back with a better attitude, & leave the criticism in the toilet.🐵🙈🙉🙊🐒

I prepared breakfast last night so I had a healthier breakfast this morning. Went to Aquafit tonight and kept within calorie goal and even logged it. I even read your posts but am too hungry to respond much. Inspiring pictures Wendy. Katia we are going camping in a few weeks with family and every trip we have that problem finding where we packed everything. It will get better I bet. I found out my Fitbit Alta doesn't do stairs! More money and does less! Where I work we have alot stairs. Oh well. Well finally time for dinner.5

Barbie while skimming the posts I just had to stop and laugh at Sasha barking at that gorgeous poodle in HER garden mirror!
Michele how was the Book Club movie? Funny as the trailers look?
Wendy, you and your daughter are naughty NAUGHTY girls! Brava for the half marathon, you ROCK!
Rebecca would you Puh LEEEZE come to my house and hang the art that's been gathering dust since JANUARY???? PURTY PUHLEEZE?
Karen in Va, Phoenix and Olivia, with mom and gran, heart filling pics!
Katla the toilet is where our husbands' criticisms belong. Good for you for speaking up.
Welcome Rachel now from Lancaster, Valeri_Rose, MizLily, AnnetteKris, chicken_mama. Let us know what you'd like to be called and your general location to help us keep you all straight. Wecome back jazzypdx, Keri in Seattle.
Quiet so far tonight, the @$$ who's been setting off aerial fireworks must have gotten the message. We live in a drought-stressed forest dummy. Don't you remember being evacuated for the Chetco Bar Fire last summer? Sheesh!
One of my T'ai Chi acquaintances invited me to join her and two others for a day trip to Bandon to walk the sand circle labyrinths. I'm looking forward to the trip and getting to know the gals better, only wish we didn't have to leave at 07:30 ;}
Got my steps in, now time to meditate and do the knee exercises before turning in.
Sleep sweet, lovelies!

I watered my friend's yard this morning early as I was walking Sasha after Bessie went home. I took Sasha off the leash while I ran the sprinkler and watered the hanging plants. Suddenly I heard Sasha bark and turned expecting to see someone in the yard or next door. Instead, Sasha had seen her reflection in the garden mirror and was barking at herself.
Funny!!
Reminds me of my mother's cat ... and Simon's Cat!

wildhorsewendy wrote: »Hi Sisters,
I'm back from visiting my daughter and grandies. Successfully completed the half marathon in atrocious weather conditions. Rain and a head wind blowing off the ocean. I was soaked down to my undergarments and had to steep myself in a hot bath afterwards to raise my body temperature back up. But got a nice medal! As well as a large blister, LOL. My leg muscles are still sore today.
Machka, great to hear that your hubby is at home and hope his progress speeds up in his own familiar environment. Will be less stressful on you to not have to go to the hospital all the time.
Wendy
Congratulations on the half marathon!
Today was the first day I didn't have to go to the hospital. At lunch, I actually got three errands accomplished, and then got home by about 5:30 pm instead of 8 or 8:30 pm. I might actually make a dent in the long, long list of things I've got to do.

I've never seen this thread before, but I could use some extra support! I take it that we just list our goals for the coming month, and then update each other on how we make out? I can do that! lol So, let's see... July is a special month for me, my birthday is Thursday, hubby usually takes his vacay this week and we do a LOT of eating out, and I usually gain more weight that I have to lose all over again. THIS year, he's stuck working. YAY! lol So my goals...
First one will sound silly, but since I've never managed it, it's a really good goal!
#1. Weigh less the weekend after my birthday than before.
#2. Maintain at least 40 hours of exercise for the month
#3. Lose another 4 pounds. (Figure that's just a pound a week!)
Ok, let's go with those, hopefully I'll succeed and be able to add more next month!
OH... and I'm 66 (soon to be 67), I live in west central Florida, I'm owned by two sweet pit bulls (who are my hiking partners), I hike daily, I do all the yard maintenance, pool work/cleaning, housework, cooking, laundry... and at that point I start to call it quits! ROFL
Hope we all make our goals this month! And if I misunderstood this thread, please gently correct me. ;-)9 -
poisonesse, you've got the right idea about this thread. It is the support group you wish you had with face-to-face friends. We are supportive and non-judgmental and available 24/7 for discussion. Eating out has always been a challenge for me. I've learned about a few things I can order at restaurants that don't pack on the pounds.
Machka, this morning as I lamented the fact that the days are getting shorter, it made me happier to realize that for you, the days are getting longer. It also makes me happy that your husband is home so you don't have to use so much of each day traveling to where he is.

Wendy so fantastic! You look amazing! I’d literally be looking like a Zombie at the end of such a long distance and yet you look like a photography model. I love the supportive crowds you cyclists and runners have for your events! I bet that is such a fun motivator.
We should arrange a multi continent, multi person, triathlon style event. Like a Run/Swim/cycle/walk everyone completes on the same day but in their own place!
So happy for you on the exciting new life happenings. They certainly agree with you!5 -

Yes, we've gained 5 minutes of daylight.
But tonight, because I was able to leave work and come home at a more normal time, it was late twilight when I was waiting for the bus rather than completely pitch dark. That was nice.

Welcome jane4willmorris, time IS what it takes Welcome workoutaholic and poisonesse in FL, this is THE place for support, wisdom and pip's boot. Let us know what you'd like to be called and a general location to help us keep y'all straight.
Machka thanks for Simon's cat. That was just the giggle I needed this morning. Hooray for the first day not having to go to the hospital. (((hugs))) for this new leg of your journey.
Disappointed. Woke up with that "uh-oh a cold's coming on" feeling. Didn't want to hack and sneeze on the other gals in the car for 2 hrs so backed out from today's trip to the sand labyrinths. Or . . . did my introvert half overcome my social half overnight? Finishing my tea, taking an aspirin and heading back to bed. Foo.

Katla, biggest big hug, sweetie. I'm in absolute total awe that you drove your motor home to the park. You might mention to DH he is welcome to check out all cupboards, drawers, closets, etc so as to be able to immediately put his hands on whatever he may need . Good heavens, we've traveled many many time in the RV and I often look two or three places before I find what I'm looking for. Chin up, you are my super hero 💞

Katla - hope your dog is doing better. The BIG fireworks was blasting in our neighborhood last night, house shaking stuff. CBD did nothing for our old dog who crawled under the bed - flattened herself like a snake and squirreled under there with only 5" clearance if that but we were able to pull her out - but I'm going to lay in a supply of Karen's favorite CBD from Bluebird Botanicals for next time.
Sorry your DH was such a pill. We must get their attitudes adjusted at times whether they like it or not, lol. And say the magic words (fill in the blank) for our own sanity. My retort is generally "well, next time YOU get to do the packing and be in charge of where things go." Hope things are going better today.
Heather - gosh what a cute house and love having the layout like that. Hope you can make lunch with your friend.
Karen in VA - Holy smokes those cute kids are growing fast! Love the photos of mom & grandmom too!! Any plans to head west and see them in the near future?
Wendy - we are enjoying seeing photos of you chilled and in the rain. Thanks for the cool-off, lol.
Rebecca - love all the art you were able to hang in DS's room. What wonderful memories they must have sparked. When is your next doc appointment about the parathyroid?
Barbara AHMOD - sorry you won't be able to make it to Bandon.... you remind me so much of myself. I was all excited last week to have lunch with my new neighbor today but was relieved when she had to cancel.
Better close for now and get ready for the allergy shots and morning shopping. Pups and DH are watching the dog show from Philly this morning so they won't even miss me.
Have a great day!!

LOL ladies, add me to the list. At a distance I can get excited about social engagements, but I am pretty much always thrilled when they are cancelled.
Well, have to work today til 8pm. And work tomorrow. And since I can’t drive and have been working all the Saturdays lately, we have mountains of dirty clothes and linens to wash, so after work tomorrow when husband comes to get me we’ll have to spend the rest of the day at the laundrymat.
Really looking forward to this weekend, my first one in a couple of months with two days off and NO social engagements to interfere!3 -
Morning, 3 days in and I'm keeping to my new habits ( ) Exercised each day and am staying off my phone playing mindless puzzles. I have a new journal/planner where I fill in little boxes for each day I achieve my new habits, kind of like Becca's beads, and other ladies who use stars on their calendars, it is motivating me!
DH has a 1/2 day so we're taking DD to her favorite taco place as a goodbye lunch. Getting lots done as well, today the linen closet is getting a once over, emptied, vacuumed and reordered. Y'all now how much I love to putter!
wendy you look powerful and fierce, WTG
