Did Patrick Goudeau’s Play Ball in 4 DVD. Since classes are cancelled at the gym tomorrow, the plan is to do a Firm Max Cardio Burn DVD. Normally, I would have taken the water class, but I’ll take it Friday.
Katie – good news!
Chicken_ma – welcome! What kind of job do you have?
Wendy – thanks for the pics. You look great
Vince has an appt for a physical and I’m thinking that I may go to the ceramics place. There isn’t much I need to do to get the firefly completed then they can fire it Thursday, I can pick it up Monday and put the jewels on it. Maybe I can start on the seahorse. I really should get that done.
Barbara – Book Club was funny. Truthfully, I don’t know that I would have paid full price to go see it, but at the discounted price it wasn’t bad. I really wanted to see “I feel Pretty” but that ended Friday. Maybe it’ll come back? Or if it comes out on DVD, maybe I can rent it. I just feel bad buying a DVD (unless it’s at a thrift store) since I probably will only watch it a handfull of times and then have to store it. Honestly, I rather store exercise DVD’s
Workoutaholic – welcome! What kinds of workouts do you like to do?
Pois….- welcome! Great goals, not too aggressive. You’ll succeed. I’ve found that ordering mostly veges in restaurants helps. The only problem seems to be that they don’t give you a lot of veggies (unless it’s french fries)
Tigrib – welcome. I know you’ll be successful
Went up to the ceramics studio. I had so little of the firefly to do and I really wanted to get it done. Since we won’t be there tomorrow, I went up today. I also did the first coat on the other seahorse. I’m just getting sick of looking at it there. Now I need to find a picture of the crab.
Vicki – the way you feel is totally appropriate. It bothers me that Denise wants to live with Pete’s parents and never says anything about coming to see us. Of course, Pete doesn’t either. And if we go to see them, it’s not like we have any place to stay. I just keep thinking “what goes around comes around”
Rori – when Vince had cataract surgery, admitted at first he was really worried about it. But after he had the first eye done, he asked the MD “when can we do the next eye”. I’m so sorry you’re going to have to do the eye drops. I know Vince had a calendar of when he had to take which drop

Whelp. I have managed somehow to injure my middle toe on my right foot. John thinks it is broken, I’m not sure. I think It is bumpy and misshapen due to the swelling but I just can’t imagine how I could have broken it.
I first noticed it was hurting yesterday at work while standing working at the desk. It hurt enough that I lowered the desk and sat down, something I try to rarely do. This was a few hours after a tabata class (which I think I am going to have to admit is something for younger body - low impact only exercise for me, I think) and I have to assume that is where I hurt the toe, but I have no memory of doing so.
Can one break a bone and not be aware of it?
Since we really can’t afford dr and X-ray bills I’m planning to ice it a lot and baby it for as long as possible and hope it heals. If I get time to swim tomorrow before work I’ll use the leg float so that way only use my arms to propel through the water.
So odd. Whatever happened I did not feel it at the time of injury. Lol, I sure feel it now tho!

I would like to rejoin the group and start again. I have put on some weight and I feel it. I have to have written goals or nothing happens. My goals for this week start simply
1). Log everything I eat
2). Pay attention to steps6 -
Nice day today. Ford called and some valve in my truck exploded. Will cost about $1000 to fix but they should have it done by the end of the week. DD is doing better after hitting herself on the head with the t-post pounder. We have Dson and fiance coming over tomorrow. DGD is coming too.
Rye - straighten out the toe as much as possible and tape it to the next toe for about 3 weeks. That was what they did when I broke my toe. They did not even do x-ray. I was able to swim during that time but had to wear looser shoes.
We were given a cat by DD's co-worker. It is definitely part flame point siamese and named Butters. It showed up at his house about 1 year ago and they began feeding it but did not let it inside as they already had a cat and dog. Now they have to move and did not want to take the cat to a shelter so we took it as a barn cat. We took it to the vet today and found out it is chipped. Her official name is Fondue and she is 8 years old. Chip company will contact whoever registered her and they can call us or not. If not we will keep her.
Heather - The house looks nice.
Barbi - Thanks for the new month.
Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday who celebrates tomorrow. We will stay home to make sure all the critters stay calm. Sue in WA6 -

Aaack, broken toes, Rye, so sorry! I had a broken toe but I smacked it into my husband's bare foot, both of us in mid stride, meeting up in the hallway of another place. I looked at my toe next to my baby toe on my right foot. It was pointing to my baby toe! I yelled hysterically, "Is it broken"? Husband said matter of factly, "Ya think"? Since I was quite a walker, they did surgery and put a little spike down the bone. They said if I didn't get it done, it would ache every time it rained, or something like that. Yours isn't broken over, so you're good to go! Like Sue said, just tape it to a toe next.👍

I just did something that I didn't know how to do and surprised to have been successful. I'm using my phone as an internet hotspot and here I am! We are at the county park out in the country and this is our second day. We left the RV here and went home to get some things that we that we needed. When we got back, we wandered all over the park and looked at all the facilities and camping spaces. We barbecued our dinner, and went to the grocery store in a nearby town for supplies. DH said he could create an internet hotspot for me, but he was tired from the activities of the day and went to bed. I managed to create one for myself with a bit of luck and stick to it attitude. I can her people setting off booms and bangs in the distance. Our dog is resting beside me and doesn't seem to be upset, but is a little tense. That is the miracle we were hoping for and didn't dare believe. No one is setting things off in the park where we are parked; this is all coming from outside. I hope that the next few days will go at least as well as this one and our pup manages okay. (Our "pup" is going on 10 years old.) I feel like I've done the impossible, and it is very nice. He and DH have both gone to bed.
Lanette: There is a lot of noise in the vicinity right now, but it isn't in the park and it isn't as bad as at home. The dog is doing okay at the moment, & rested on the floor beside me for a while. He isn't relaxed and happy, but he isn't upset, either. I'll take what I can get.
Rebecca: Your bracelet is lovely. Would it be more comfortable if you converted it to a necklace? :flowerforyou:
(((RITA))) I hope things go well for your DH. Here is a song for you--
lyrics only. I couldn't figure out how to link the actual song.
Well, I'm running down the road
tryin' to loosen my load
I've got seven women on
my mind,
Four that wanna own me,
Two that wanna stone me,
One says she's a friend of mine
Take It easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels
drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand
and take it easy
Well, I'm a standing on a corner
in Winslow, Arizona
and such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed
Ford slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is
gonna save me
We may lose and we may win though
we will never be here again
so open up, I'm climbin' in,
so take it easy
Well I'm running down the road trying to loosen
my load, got a world of trouble on my mind
lookin' for a lover who won't blow my
cover, she's so hard to find
Take it easy, take it easy
don't let the sound of your own
wheels make you crazy
come on baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is
gonna save me, oh oh oh
Oh we got it easy
We oughta take it easy
Barbie: Last winter when we went to see DS and his family, he talked me into getting a new phone. I am beginning to make peace with it, after 7 months. At least it is giving me internet access today so that I can chat with everyone. I'm pleased about that. :flowerforyou:
Janetr: Your granddaughter looks happy and YOUNG. How old is she? :flowerforyou:
Rori: DH had cataracts removed from both eyes in separate surgeries. He had the first one done, and the second done over a month later. The surgeries were a blessing. I hope your DH does as well as mine did. Michele is right about eye drops. They make a huge difference. DH managed the time schedule and I was the one to put the drops in his eyes.
DH and the dog have gone to bed. I expect that I'll be following right along. Have a good evening, and a good day tomorrow.

Sue & Rebecca Thanks for the taping advice! Since I have no experience with anything like this I never would have thought of it! Tomorrow- after I swim, I’ll tape it to the ‘index’ toe.
I have an 8 hour ice pack at the foot of the bed and am gingerly resting it in my toes for short durations during the night. That is helping the acute throbbing pain I suffered from last night. With the tape to other toe ‘splint’ arrangement y’all recommend, and some loose shoes I think this will be manageable!
I will need to make some arrangements to have rides to/from work for a while (I think I *could* walk that mile and 1/2, but doubt I *should* do so! Lol) but should be able to swim and strength train so I’m hoping it will be able to have minimal effect on my activity/weight. Time to go back to logging every bite, me thinks.
Rita I have you and your husband in my thoughts.
Rori and Michelle Now, I am paranoid about eye surgery, although genetics indicates I’ll have to consider it in the next decade or so. Being legally blind in my right eye since birth makes me fanatical about preserving and protecting my useful eye. lol, I even wear eye protection when we clip our cats claws! So my sympathies are with the guys.
Well, going to go back to bed now that this hot flash has calmed down and try to get my much needed rest.
A happy holiday to those of you in the USA! And a great day to all!

Just be sure to watch your data usage when you do that. You can suddenly use up a whole lot of it!
I set mine up like that sometimes when we travel, but try not to spend too much time online because I can see that little data usage graph going up!

My gynaecologic oncologist is putting me onto something new for those ... the stuff my GP put me on helped a bit, but not entirely. My gyn onc thinks that this new stuff will work better.
I'd have to dig out the prescription to tell you what it is, but it is not hormone-based. It is partially serotonin based, but other things well.
So ... it can be worth seeing a gynaecologist to find out if there are options.

Happy July 4th to all the USA-ers on here! Am going to be traveling today, with a full day tomorrow and right back home by 11 p.m. tomorrow night. Cheri - I'll be in College Station, but it looked like you had family in for the holiday, so I didn't want to intrude. Family first, always! And I'll probably just curl up in the hotel room with a good book (which reminds me, I need to peruse Amazon for something to take with on my Kindle).
Get to talk to a bunch of architecture students tomorrow at Texas A&M who will be creating concepts for our proposed STEM Center (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) for girls in Midland. It's a long-term project, to be sure, and will require years of effort to both gather the donations and get it built--but then, that's what I'm there for. The best of the architecture student concepts will be a tool I can use to make it real to donors, what we're trying to accomplish. A picture or a model they can touch gives them something they feel they can invest in for the future. I'll be back again in August to be part of the jury that decides on the best concepts, and will literally take the best with me back to Midland.
Better day yesterday than I had any right to expect, thanks to a long conversation with an understanding friend. Work stuff.
Heather - love the pics of the inside, and the floor plan. It looks just as charming as it does on the outside. All good wishes for the best of outcomes for you and your DH.
Rita - sorry for the worry for your husband's health. Sounds like no fun at all.
Machka - glad things are going along well so far with your hubby.
Everyone - I read every day here, even though I don't comment on much, and think of you all often.
Even better morning today--got the appraisal in for the property, and it came in about 5% higher than our purchase price, without any demand for repairs that we didn't already know about, and no demands for repairs from the sellers that they have no intention of making. So, if all works out well, we'll be going in with some equity already built in. Two weeks from Friday is closing day... keep a good thought.
Love y'all,
You center and ground me,

My DH's daughter texted him after the match to say that it was going bananas where she lives in Clapham, South London. He replied that it was pretty noisy in our little village! ! ! I really enjoyed all the groans and explosive cheers from next door, even though I wasn't watching.
Brighton, where we are moving to, had a big screen set up on the beach.
Lost two and a half hours sleep last night. Just thinking about the new house in the middle of the night. I went into the spare room, read a bit, took a pill for my achy legs and had a slice of bread because I was really hungry. :noway: Eventually went back to sleep, so I'm more or less caught up. We are talking about where to put furniture etc and what to get rid of. DH is going to ring the agents and see if we can get a second look around when we are next down for the grandchildren. Tell the owners they don't have to tidy up!! We have all the measurements, but it's still hard to visualise. Some of our stuff is very tall. I would love to buy new, but that's not going to happen as DH's cash is cleared out on the purchase and he is very attached to some of his old bits and pieces. I have things I'm fond of, but I'm more prepared to make changes. I read a lot of decorator magazines.
Much love to all and hope you enjoy the holiday! It is my son's wedding anniversary plus the 48th wedding anniversary of my first marriage.

Really tired today ... even though I've tried to get an extra 15 min or so of sleep the last couple nights. I might have to try for an extra 30 min tonight.
My list of things to do just doesn't seem to be getting any smaller. I try to do a few things on the list each day ... and somehow it seems to get longer.
One day, I'd like to feel just a little bit on top of things!

Some were shooting off fireworks last night because they think it is going to rain tonight.
I was able to see some of them while laying in bed. It was a pleasant surprise. It was better than going out on a hot sticky night and battling the mosquitoes.

Good morning all! Happy Wednesday! Happy Independence Day to the ladies from the U.S.A. DYS has to work today until 6pm. DH and I were going to go to his brother's place for a barbecue, but that was cancelled; so we are just going to putter around the house. Not sure what he is going to do, but I will remove my upper kitchen cabinet doors and get them ready for paint, I will also get the wainscotting and trim painted in the kitchen. It is in the low 90s already (at 7am!) so burning the branches and yard waste is not happening today. I am so sick of looking at it in the back yard, I might just bag it up and put it out for collection and pay the fee. I have burgers and brats to put on the grill for dinner when DYS gets home and then we will all head downtown for fireworks. It just occurred to me, this is my only day off until DD and Joaquin arrive next week Friday night. Ah well, it's all good. Summer days and daycare aren't really that hard. Here we are at the beach across from my house.
The lake on Monday had the usual wave action, as it was windy, and the only the older kids wanted to be in the water. Yesterday the lake was perfectly flat, except for the occasional wake caused by passing boats. Perfect for the three years olds!
Rita- Sorry to hear of DH's health problems. Sending love to you both
Rye- I have broken a couple of toes and yes, all you can really do is straighten it the best you can and tape it to the toe next to it. I agree, you could probably walk the mile and a half to work on it, but it would be best if you didn't. Broken toes are more of a nuisance than anything. You don't realize how much you depend on a toe for balance, until they aren't functioning the way they should. Sending healing vibes your way!
Kylia- My DH is a firework junkie. We don't buy them and shoot them off anymore, but whenever they are being set off, he likes to go watch them. I enjoy them; but most nights it is later than I want to be awake (especially when you add in the traffic time)!
Lisa and Heather- Keeping fingers crossed for both of the properties in your lives!
Heather- I got a giggle imagining the way you gauge how matches are going based on the cheering you here. Sounds like my house. lol I am not a game/match watcher (although I love to watch swimmers and runners compete) so I always gauge the turn out of these things by how much noise my DH and DYS are making. Quiet never bodes well. If their favored team loses, their moods are very bleak. That's usually my cue to get out of the house for a while. lol
Barbie-Kudos to you and your DH. I have never attempted to tackle the daunting task of transferring information from old phone to new phone. I go to my Verizon store and have them do it.
Katla- Echoing what Machka warned about (data usage). Because DH and I don't use a lot of data, normally, we have a limited data plan. If you don't have unlimited data, and you and DH will be traveling quite a bit, now might be a good time to get unlimited package. We found that we could purchase unlimited data for a month or two when we traveled last year when Joaquin was born. It wasn't too expensive and gave us unlimited for the time that we were traveling back and forth a lot.
Well, I better get busy! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Katla, congrats on your technology success. I'm so glad the place you're staying is quiet enough to make your dog feel safe. I hope tonight goes just as well.
Heather, lying awake at night thinking about the new house is something I've done every time we planned a move. Your new place looks so great. Changing rooms, reading, and having a snack sound like a great solution.
Kelly, until now we did all our phone stuff by going into the A T & T store and letting one of the nice men do all the work. The challenge with this phone is that we chose a phone company that doesn't have a local store. Jake chose them because he wanted to switch to Verizon and wanted to use a phone company that had values that matched ours. Doing the switch myself was the big fear. This morning I walked with my new phone, listened to an audio book through my blue tooth headphones, and tracked my walk on "Walk for a Dog" just like I did before. When I got home, the battery was down a lot less than it would have been on a similar walk with my old phone.

Barbie I hope your new phone battery can keep up with your long walks...what kind of phone did you get this time?
Katla Yay for you to figure out how to do the hotspot yourself. So glad your pup is doing OK with the distant rumblings.
Heather So funny you could judge the football (soccer) game's progress by the groans and cheers from next door. Made me chuckle. Did you see how the sad Japanese fans and team cleaned the stands and locker room after being defeated by Belgium?

My 12 year old grandson went to a summer camp 10 days ago - no screens allowed. So far he was punched in the face by an out-of-control kid that was subsequently expelled. His glasses were broken and his lip was split open. Then a week later, another camper broke into a locked cabinet in the camp pharmacy where my grandson's ADD medication was stored, & stole it (plus others). This was supposed to be such a wonderful camp experience for my grandboy, who had an extremely difficult school year. So my son & daughter-in-law are on their way to pick him up early. It's a 15 hour round trip. I hope they will be safe driving on the 4th of July. My granddaughter is sleeping in after her swim meet last night, with Grandpa keeping a watchful eye. She will spend part of the day with us. She has a pool party to go to this afternoon.

Kate UK: Congrats to your team on the win.
Lisa: Our public library subscribes to something called Library to Go. It is managed by Amazon and there is a long list of titles available for free, both print and audio. Check out your public library and see if they offer that service. The neat thing is that you can access it from any place that you have internet access. I hope your real estate closing goes smoothly. :flowerforyou:
(((Machka))): You've been carrying an enormous load for a long time. I suspect you'll feel normal again eventually, and will end up on top of things.
KJ: I love the beach photos!
Barbie: I'm glad that the new phone is doing well. :flowerforyou:
Janetr: I hope your granddaughter goes back to college. DH & I married while we were students. Our parents continued to support us until we graduated.
Karen: That camp must have an amazing PR person or they'd be out of business. :grumble:
Heather: "Lost two and a half hours sleep last night. Just thinking about the new house in the middle of the night. I went into the spare room, read a bit, took a pill for my achy legs and had a slice of bread because I was really hungry. Eventually went back to sleep, so I'm more or less caught up. I read a lot of decorator magazines."
I'm an addicted advice giver. We had tow homes at once and took things to the new place for a tryout. If we didn't like them we moved them into storage. Then we tried something else. We still have furniture in storage, but not much. We're down to DD's childhood bedroom set and DS's desk. Enjoy the move.
We have an overcast sky this morning, and the furnace is keeping us comfortably warm. Coming here was an excellent choice. We've been enjoying watching children running up and down the park roadway in front of us.

Thanks all for the well wishes. It helps to know people care.
Wendy thanks for the link. Lots of good information.
Katla thanks for the song lyrics!
We don’t have a home base per say. We stayed in Columbus New Mexico for six months, and got PCP’s there but no one really specific. DH will have to see a specialist for the mesenteric panniculitis. This disease worries me much more than the stones. It is rare and usually indicates cancer. He had 10 polyps removed when he had a colonoscopy and they were the kind that go cancerous. He was supposed to go back for a recheck a year later but refused. The docs were worried then that they may still turn to cancer, but he didn’t want to hear it. Now with this diagnosis, I’m concerned it is colon cancer. I sa my Dad die of that, I don’t want to go through that again.
Why do men refuse to believe they are not invulnerable?

Katla - I don't know how much storage costs in the US, but it is very expensive over here. I would rather just get rid of stuff we don't need. DH is currently drawing plans of rooms on graph paper. One problem is we don't know the size of alcoves etc. We have requested a "measuring" visit for the 19th. We also are measuring the car. It fits in the garage, but you wouldn't be able to open the door. The parking space should be big enough though.
Having chicken, lentil and spinach curry tonight, that I had to cook because of the freezer debacle. The other half of it is in the kitchen freezer. Having it with cauliflower, DH some rice as well.
Rita - So sorry for your worries.
TV is all Wimbledon, in which I have even less interest than soccer. Grrrrrrrrrr!
