Checking in at end of July - My goal was to lose five pounds, I lost three pounds. I'll take it.
Since January 24, I've now lost 32 pounds, 4 inches around my waist, 5 inches around the lower stomach area (a sore point with me), 4 inches around my hips, and 3 inches around each thigh. I measure everything. It keeps me going at times with the weight stalls.
My goal for August is to lose four pounds, even with all the traveling.
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR7 -
WTG Lisa great progress and in the middle of lots of moving stress and change, excellent work
I’m headed to the gym and will try a Pilates mat class with bands and light weights.
Will see all you guys on the other side - I mean the August thread

Good Wednesday!
Just have a moment.
Janetr So sorry to hear about llama. We once had those. Those were cool. My DFIL had lots of animals at the farm in Kentucky. There were white tails, reindeer, elks, and fallow deer. There were llamas, cows, and horses. We also had whitetail in our backyard. A few years after he died, my MIL hooked up with a guy who wanted the land for more cows. They sold ALL of the animals except the cows! It was heart wrenching. Now the cows are gone too.....I have no idea what they are going to do with the farm now. My DH and I spent many weekends there taking care of things and enjoying the trails. Since the new man (okay not so new now) took over I haven't even been back down. It is too sad and makes me mad. Better to just let that one go.
I know there was more but........work seems to be calling my name.
Please keep the pictures coming. I love all the children both human and furry! The gardens make me jealous. Mine are such a mess. I really need to get on those. I think I need a staycation! Hard to take too many days off though since our vacation is in September followed by a dealer meeting in Florida 3 days after we get back from vacation.
(((HUGS))) to all of you! Both happy hugs and supportive hugs!
You are all INSPIRATIONAL to me!

Morning all! Happy Tuesday! Day 2 of our Coast Guard Festival Adventure! Yesterday was just a quick trip downtown (2 hours, total) to see the ships come in. Today we will head downtown right after breakfast and be there until nap time. Oddly, the thing I am most worried about are the lines for the bathrooms and having three recently potty trained boys with me! We are headed to Mulligan's Hollow, which is near our Y and is a field where sports are played surrounded by dunes, playground, and skatepark. The city has tents set up with crafts, face painting, games, bounce houses, clowns, photo booths, food, etc. There will be kids/families everywhere, the municipalities will have their "trucks" parked for the kids to climb in and investigate, a petting zoo, etc. It will be a full and busy morning.
Janet- Love the ornament!
Wendy- lol I am wondering how much of the piano "lingo" has stayed in my head over the past 35 years of not playing. I haven't started to monkey Clair on the piano yet. I have been doing some fingering on the table or bedspread as I listen to it, though. Yes, I would say the majority of the first portion of the song is all played with the right hand. The left comes in stronger after a bit.
kisses to all of you, but that is all I have time for this morning. I need to get out and water my very neglected hanging baskets. I feel like a "bad mom" when I look at them literally hanging all dried up in their pots. Welcome to my "house of death for green things!" xoxoxo KJ4 -

Kelly I was outside on the deck when I uploaded the picture of the hibiscus & hadn't read your "house of death for green things" comment yet. Not trying to be snarky by posting it. (You have a green thumb with children, anyway!)
Janetr I think I forgot to mention how lovely the last ornament was. It's my favorite so far...and don't worry about making me sad about the llama. I've moved on to being mad at the men for pooh-poohing you for your concerns about the boy llamas getting hurt fighting. At least it gives you some ammunition for the next time your Spidey Sense tells you something is dangerous.
Meg You have a good sense of humor. It's starting to peek through, so I'm thinking you are recovering a bit from the emotional trauma you've experienced the last year or two.
Rebecca Do the doctors think your husband's vertigo is an inner ear virus?
Cathy and Carol Photos of the granddaughters are precious.
Katla Yep. No need to rush things with the piano & clock. Like the boat, you aren't ready to part with them, there is no pressing need to, and you'll figure it out when the time comes. I have a LOT of stuff. I need to "let it go", but much of it has intrinsic or sentimental value - or at least that's been my mindset until the last few days. Now I am beginning to experience a paradigm shift in my thinking. There is actually very little in this house that is so valuable that I can't let it go. I am beginning to look at the things in this house as albatrosses around my neck. How's that for a visual? LOL!!!
Thinking of those of you with burdens & pain. Sending much love.

My husband and I have both gone through 2 purges.
Mine: in 2004 I decided to toss, give away, and pack everything up, move 2 provinces over, put what remaining items I had into storage for several years during which time I spent 3 months cycling around Australia, and then acquiring a degree in Canada.
Mine: in 2009, I moved to Australia and could only take 300 cubic feet of stuff. Another purge from my already greatly reduced quantity of goods. I dug everything out of storage, held it, took photos of it ... and gave a whole bunch of it away.
My husband: in 2005, he did a purge like my first one, put everything into storage, and hit the road through Victoria, Australia following the Harvest Trail.
My husband: in 2009, he had settled in a part of Victoria, Australia working on an apple orchard when the Victorian Bushfires hit. So many people died, so many houses destroyed. Including his. But he escaped through the flames with his life and a handful of stuff.
Since then, we've accumulated things. NO desire to purge.

Hi all,
Back from the pub lunch with my friend and refreshed after a lovely nap! I was so tired this morning - a reaction to our sociable weekend, I expect.
Ran round the lanes this morning for an hour, listening to the Soul Music podcasts of Oh Holy Night and You are My Sunshine. Then I finished off with a quick burst of She Bangs, my favourite running tune.
I was only passed by one car as I got out of the door by 5.55.
I did really well at the pub, having two delicious starters, no bread. Prawns with garlic butter, and Crispy duck salad with watermelon. Delicious.
Tonight I'm braving my octopus with green beans. The ring for my IP was so stinky after the octopus I've put it out in the sun to air. DH wasn't feeling quite brave enough today, so he is cooking himself egg and bacon, with some of the green beans. Drinking kombucha with it.
Well done Lisa on the weight loss. Have you bought any new clothes to celebrate?
Currently three of my best friends are under the weather. My cancer friend is worse and has been in hospital. Then there's my friend with the damaged ligament. Now my other yoga friend didn't come today because she has been having bad bouts of heart pounding. She is on meds for it, but had been cutting down.
I'm just feeling a bit flat. I have another lunch tomorrow with my old uni friend. Not looking forward to it as she is bring her drag of a boyfriend. He is ok, but not my type, to say the least. I am just giving them a cup of tea and then we are going down the pub. She asked to stay the night and, Margaret, I was able to say NO! Years ago she was my best friend, but her choice of men is sad and she is inclined to drink much too much. Then she tells me how much she loves me etc etc. Bored with all that. The drinking and the obsessive dieting has given her osteoporosis. She has broken her hip once and her ankle twice recently. Drunken falls. I intend to have a quick ish lunch and make my excuses.

Thanks for ideas about the pisno & clock. I hsve com to the realization that I’m sttached to them partly because they’re a link to my mom, snd they help me feel connected. They’re not budging at this point.
I have a coffee and end table set that my Dad built for me. I love them they are beautiful but way too big for my living room. They are now in our storage barn with the legs taken off. I have asked my husband to make me shelves out of them so that I still have Dad's workmanship and can see them. My husband is scared, I think, that I'm going to change my mind after he cuts them because he keeps putting it off.1 -

I measure too Lisa, I find the scale and I have a love/hate relationship most of the time, but the tape measure and I have a nice long love affair going on. Congratulations on your progress!

still have some of my laundry in the dryer, but did take a bit of a nap..

cant believe all the checks and bills I have been paying for the past week.. hoping to recoup some of which was for my dads estate..
my brother will not be opening the cottage for the labor day weekend get together... just to much to do here with my dads house.. have to let my family know...
that has been my mission for the last 45 minutes contacting people to cancel the labor day weekend...1 -
Thanks Michele, Right now I am trying to focus more on food. I do love to work out and I still go to the gym 2 nights a week when I can. I do Power class there. I also do Beachbody on demand and I like doing the 28 day workouts and the Yoga 30 day retreat. But due to family issues I haven't been able to do as much as I would like.
I am a wife and a mother of 3 adult children and one granddaughter and another one on the way in December. I want to be a healthy and active nannie. So that is my WHY!4 -
Well he has those little round plastic thingys that he uses if he gets sick. He has one on his lap now, like a security blanket! He ate two grapes and sips of tea for breakfast at 9. He took a shower this morning, and I think we both slept well last night. Our neighbors next door are getting a new roof, so the roofers came at 9. He says that his eyes are still swirling, so he is just keeping them closed. He says its sensory overload if he opens them, because it makes him feel sick. The two meds he's on, both make him sleepy. I never whined this much when I had it in June! But I guess I never had it ongoing, just when I moved positions.
Not eating has put my weight at 234.4 so that's good. Onward to 200.👍
To walk around I am having him hold onto my shoulders and just walk behind me. I have found the damn caregivers hat, but I ain't putting it on!
Love

Made bean soup with pinto, and great northern beans. Husband had the broth, so that was good. I had a small bowl, plus we have three containers to have later. Then got busy and made some brownies, and also blueberry scones. Maybe husband will be able to eat some of a scone with his tea when he wakes up.
Balanced the checking account so all I have to do is bill pay tomorrow online, and wire money to son for rent. Next month looks like $146 per week which is doable👍.
Is everyone having a good summer? I'm feeling better, still have quite a line scar, and its kinda itchy! Need to get me some scar minimizing cream!
Hugs to each and every one of yas!

Hi Sisters,
Well done Lisa on your excellent progress. How is your fast going Mary? Good on ya, Heather for saying no. I wish I could say no to those uninvited guests that use our house as their ongoing vacation spot, and my ongoing nightmare. LOL.
I hit my target yesterday of 20,000 plus steps. This is Day 2 of my second fast. I had a two day break between them but I still want to get rid of some baggage so I'm busy trying to empty the Fat Buckets today. I find that having a more predictable schedule is helping me a lot at making progress towards my goals. I have hit upon a good motivation for me: I have ordered a lense for my camera and am awaiting it's arrival. However, I am not letting myself try it out until I am in my Happy Place and have hit that target. This is great motivation for me to stay on my fast and try to get a lot of steps in so I can burn fat faster. LOL
I am re-reading "The Fast Diet" by Dr. Michael Mosley and Mimi Spencer, as additional motivation. They talk about lots of different fasting patterns and the research that has been done on mice, and about the improvements in brain function, youthing of cells, increase in memory and upgrade in all blood tests and health factors. It's good to know that I am not harming my body but actually improving my health through my diet.
Gotta go feed the hungry mouths and get some steps in, love ya all, Wendy3 -
Hi ladies. I was hit out of the blue with a horrible bladder infection (never had one before) that might be up in my right kidney. Went to the clinic and got antibiotics early this morning, then after reading the paper I slept the majority of the day. That's all from me; heading back to bed. Meg from Omaha6

Rebecca lavender and Vit E oil is good for reducing a scar. Look for those ingredients in your ointment or cream. You could get some vit E oil and a small bottle of Lavender oil. Some grocery, Walgreens, and TJ Maxx carry it.3
