Wendy: Your MIL reminds me of my own, who passed away many years ago. She was horrid to me from the day I married her son until she was very ill and having hospice care at home. The last time I saw her, I'd taken her DGD over for a visit. It was during that trip that she apologized to me. A few weeks later DMIL passed away. I sincerely doubt that you've earned poor treatment from your MIL, and sympathize. :flowerforyou:
Heather: Finally! Forward motion on your new home. YAY!!! :flowerforyou:

Katla, thanks for understanding. MIL from Hell is bad enough, but I haven't even mentioned SIL, married to my husband's only sibling. She is pretty much my exact opposite and her house is so "perfect" that you can't even relax in it for fear you might spill a drop of wine or get a speck of dust on something. She is totally self-absorbed and uninterested in me, my children or my life, so after I have made an effort to ask about her life, that's it for our conversation. LOL I just end up drinking wine until I'm sick. Better to make an excuse and leave early! Glad we only see them once a year usually, that's enough! The boredom kills me and I really want to go ride my horse or walk my dog or read a book or ANYTHING but sit there listening to them discuss things that have absolutely no relevance to me. PASS. Did a DVD for the rebounder. The plan for tomorrow is to do Bernadette Giorgi’s Just “B” Live foam Roller DVD. This is a new one for me and I’ve always wanted it so I’m excited to try it.
There is a cat who evidently is someone’s pet who came by. Very friendly. We tried to trim his/her nails, but this must be an outdoor cat because it got VERY upset. Guess it never got its nails trimmed before. Now we don’t see it anywhere around. Vince fed it some of our dry cat food and I gave it water. Guess if we see it the next few days we’ll put out something to let its owner know that its OK and that we don’t have a problem with it being here
Terry - welcome back! I’m so sorry for everything you’ve gone thru. I can understand your feeling. Think about how pleased you dh will be once you’ve lost the weight. You CAN do this and we’ll be right by your side every step of the way
KJ – wishing the best for you. I’m glad you’re getting this looked at
Debra – you’re doing great! Tell us what evofit is. Never heard of it
Lil… - prayers
Pip – get better soon. You know your body better than anyone else.
One time we stayed at a hotel that didn’t have a fitness room. That is one thing that I really missed. I can live without a refrig or microwave, but I really missed the fitness room
KJ one time we gave up our seats on the airplane and in return got 5 free round trip tickets to anywhere in the lower 49. That doesn’t happen today!
Lenora – I’ve already mentioned to the instructor that music would be great, but nothing’s been done. Told her how it really helped me. Maybe it’s time to mention it again. Loki has been doing this (peeing on the bed) even if for weeks there hasn’t been another cat here. No, it’s not that it’s the introduction of another cat and he’s “marking his territory”. I’m mainly looking for something that will deter him from peeing on the bed (actually, any of the cats, at one time we thought it was Lexi who was peeing). It’s ONLY on the beds, but never on our bed.
Terry – what beautiful jewelry you make
Okie – I’ll be more than happy to give you a few of my pounds

Carol, I don't like social gatherings at all and avoid as many of them as possible. We eat our big meal at noon and have enjoyed that. I hope it continues to work well for you.
Lenora, I deactivated my Facebook account in June and haven't missed it at all. I've received some good e mails jokes from you and have enjoyed them a lot.
Terry in VT, I'm glad to see you back and hope that this is the beginning of a new life for you. Sometimes it takes a huge lightning bolt to get the process started. Stick with us so we can encourage and support you.
Heather, I'm glad to see that there is a bit of progress in the paperwork for your move. When we were waiting for news on our last house sale, I got busy like you did with de-cluttering and the time passed, things were discarded, and the sale happened.
Family, I have no family and Jake's family is many states away so we have no family events to deal with. I feel fortunate to not have that to worry about. Jake speaks to his brothers and his grown children on the phone from time to time, but I'm not involved.
I'm still not moving as well as I want to. I'll take Prednisone for two more days and then report to my doctor for further direction.

Machka: It sounds like a very rough week. I hope the weekend gives you a breather and a chance to rest.
I had a bit of a meltdown on Wednesday.
That day, my husband had a bad turn in the morning, and his homecare worker called the ambulance. Fortunately, he was more-or-less OK. Then I wondered why I hadn't heard from my mother all day, and when I finally did she informed me that my 97 year old grandmother had a bad fall and was in hospital. She's not OK ... she has begun deteriorating rather quickly and now needs 24-hour care so they've got to find a new place for her or get 24-hour home care. I wish I could be there to help ... given that I've just been through the whole process of investigating all that for my husband, but Canada is a long way away so I'll have to leave it up to them.
Then, right in the midst of all this, I had 2 of the organisations involved in my husband's care wanting to have in-person meetings with me ... which we did eventually set up ... but when I offered 3 suggested times to one organisation and they responded back with "can't you be more flexible?", I kinda lost it on them.
I work full-time (I said), my employers would actually like me to show up during the day sometimes. I've got 2 projects with imminent deadlines at work. And I'm trying to fit in another meeting regarding my husband, a dental appointment for my broken tooth which I haven't been able to squeeze in anywhere, and a couple other appointments for me which won't likely happen for a while because there is simply no time. And you want me to be more flexible???
They picked one of the 3 times I offered them.
Anyway ... today looks like a lovely late winter day. So I think we're going to attempt to go to the beach where I will jog and my husband will sit and/or walk.

Rebecca - Love that!
Did my run early this morning. Headed up hill to the pub , turned around and ran down hill to the other pub, then back up hill to home. 5k.
I listened to two Soul Music BBC podcasts - The Star Spangled Banner and The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. Both excellent. Is anyone else listening to them? I get back just before the end of the second one (they are each 28 minutes) so it gives me time to water my arugula and geraniums while it finishes.
Waiting for the man who takes the books and CDs to arrive. The pensioner craft group lady is coming tomorrow to collect my embroidery etc.
Done all my exercises and weights apart from 50 calories of cycling. I'm always surprised how tired my arms are while rowing after a run, but I do swing my arms a lot.
Sometimes I can hardly believe I'm doing all this at my age.
Barbie - It's not so much that I just need patience, it's more that I'm worried that the longer it goes on, the more likely it is that the chain will break down. Remember, the five people involved in the chain all have to exchange on the same day and later complete likewise. (Once exchange has happened it is usually a cert, but anything can happen.) If our buyer's buyer drops out, for example, it would mess the whole thing up. I am keen to get exchange over. Then it's just all hands to the pump to organise completion. Situations where the outcome is not in your hands are more stressful, but I am feeling a bit calmer now they have located the documents.
The man from Oxfam has been for the collection. :drinker:

Michelle I was going to ask if you had plastic covers on the mattresses. For whatever reason, all my cats would pee on plastic when I was growing up. Bean bag chairs, mattress covers, even plastic drop clothes. I hope the spray works for you.0

Rebecca Is Suki a Bengal cat? She is beautiful.
Heather The success you are having with getting rid of things in a satisfying manner is inspiring. I like that so many things are going to someone who specifically wants them, rather than just to a thrift shop where they may lay neglected and unappreciated, or to the dump. I can hardly imagine who would want books and CDs. Who did you get to take them? And I am encouraged about all the doilies and embroidery I have - crafting clubs, of course! We don't have an active Freecycle group here, but we do have a local "Hoarders" group that sells barters gives buys donates things to nearby people, so maybe I will try that out with something to give away as a dry run before I really jump into it.
Heather, are you in contact with Penny? It seems like a long time.

I was just thinking of her today too ... wondering how she was.
I actually started thinking of her exactly a week ago ... we had gotten ourselves settled at the symphony when the people next to us came in and one whipped out a photo book ... of the far north at a time of year when the sun only came up for an hour or so a day. They were saying it was brighter than you'd expect ... the moonlight, I suppose.
