12/04 145.4 up a .2...why? No clue. Ate within a deficint, exercised good and had a little over 1.2 liters of water. I am assuming it's a slight fluctuation before a woooosh lol or at least I hope 🤞🤞volleyball tonight and I always see a loss the next day, so needless to say I am excited to weigh in tomorrow.
12/05 145.2 and down again. I was fine yesterday morning but by around dinner time the hunger monster awoke. I couldn't seem to get full, regardless of how hard I tried. I played volleyball and exercised pretty good yesterday but because of my eating, I ended on a maintenance. I also had a good amount of energy last night after I got home, so decided to exercise a bit more while doing laundry and didn't end up going to bed until after 2. Needless to say I need to get a bit more sleep then that.
12/06 145.2 my body is comfortable here. I guess I shouldn't complain, had a chocolate craving around 8 so that overkilled my calories by a bit. Exercised good and 2 liters of water.
12/07 144.0 last night I started feeling really sick. I think I caught the flu so I went to bed early and am still feeling sick now..have No clue what happened, was fine all day then BAM, nausea. So, as much as this number excited me, I also know it's because I only ate 600 cal. Yesterday and couldn't even count the amount of hours I have been sleeping. Once I feel better and start eating normally again, I will, get a more accurate number
12/08 142 still sickness weight with little to no eating and maybe a bit of dehydration, even though water was the only thing I made sure I was indulgent in. I am feeling much better today and hungry...so I expect this weight will increase by tomorrow 😥😥 I wish it hadn't been because of an illness
12/09 142.8 i am not looking at this as a usual gain, I am looking at it as a "I am back to eating normal and I am feeling better, so I obviously would gain after two days of eating nothing" I am still not taking this as my for sure weight, I think I will wait until it balances out again. I got back to exercising yesterday, especially because I felt like a million bucks, which was great! Drank 1.2 liters of water and stayed under calories..hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Day/Weight/Comment
12/4 - 178.8 - Starting to come back down. I never have a Round goal weight, only a 10 lb goal to reach. This time I set one. 175 lbs, to keep me accountable and away from the carbs until I reach it. BECAUSE, there are 2 carb days I am looking forward to, gingerbread and belgian waffles both courtesy of my son's baking. I've been waiting on this gingerbread for 4 years
12/5 - 176.8 -
12/6 - 176.2 -
12/7 - 176.4 - Up slightly. Feeling a little under the weather the past few days. Sore throat TRYING to take hold. Felt out of it yesterday and instead of laying down for a few, I ate a few tortilla chips. They did perk me up slightly and I was able to get through my evening chores.
12/8 - 176.4 - I'm calling yesterday an OMAD day, my meals were so close together. Hungry! Ate 1oz of pretzels and 2TBS homemade onion dip right after dinner. I don't usually get colds, just a feeling of I'm coming down with one and a sore throat for a few days. However, this sore throat was strange. It hurt in the center of my throat, felt like a lump I needed to swallow. Almost gone today thank goodness. I think I drowned it in water and tea. Lol.
12/9 - 177.4 - It was an early weigh in, but I ate the heck out of some pretzels yesterday 😅 so that's the gain.

@luvnalaska5078 Think about what you are ordering when you eat out. Are you trying to fit in with everyone else or are you trying to take care of yourself? You should be on this journey for yourself.
@abowersgirl I’m not sure how I feel about that “years of wisdom” remark. JK I DID chuckle out loud. I should add that there were also years of stupidity mixed in. I’m thrilled that people learn from my errors and successes.
@FarmerCarla When my DH had steroids in his shoulder (torn rotator cuff) he was told to not use his arm for a certain period of time. We can’t remember how long - at least 24 hours. He wasn’t even allowed to drive himself home.3 -

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
12/3 130.0 Round 60 end weight
12/4 132.0 Totally expected. CARB LOAD! Satisfied my craving for veggies tempura yesterday! It’s been about 6 months since we last went there.
12/5 133.0 I hardly had any water yesterday and then set my bottle down when we were at Ethel M’s and forgot to pick it up! Carl got up early this morning to take friends to the airport and in an effort to be quiet, dropped something causing me to bolt upright in bed at 3:43AM. I tried to go back to sleep but that didn’t work. It could be the carbs from Monday but I think this higher weight is the result of getting up so early. So I’m having my coffee, and WILL weigh again later. Maybe I’ll try to nap later. I am not a napper. Gym this afternoon with Amy. Treadmill
12/6 131.5 Good day yesterday. Gym @2 today with Amy. Treadmill and weights. Grand-girls have basketball today @ 4:30- one player, one cheerleader. Then I think Jimmy John’s Unwich for dinner and music at Fiesta @6! Busy day!
12/7 132.0 No JJ’s or Fiesta yesterday. My hamstring and neck hurt and it was all I could do to sit on the bleachers and watch the ballgame. Our girls won - big time.
12/8 132.0 Hamstring was better yesterday but neck was not. Finally got to sleep at almost 2AM this morning. Used a 4 year expired “heat wrap” on my neck/shoulder.
12/9 132.0 Met up with Fluffy and her husband last evening. She was talking to another lady and somehow my diet crept into the conversation. She was saying, “Jaine could have . . . Oh no, you can’t eat that, well, (pause, repeat, pause, repeat) I said, “I CAN eat anything, I choose not to.” Then more to the other lady she said, “I’m so glad Joe likes me fluffy!” Personally, I’m glad I don’t take insulin or other diabetes meds or have to have my A1C checked multiple times per year. Went to bed just before midnight and I didn’t sleep well. I may sleep in the recliner tonight.12 -

Day/Weight/Comment:
12/04 - 176.8 I’m going to stay smart while doing December in Style!
12/05 - 176.8
12/06 - 178.4
12/07 - 178.0 This is from working my butt off yesterday. So happy. A loss. I do not take this for granted.
12/08 - 178.0 After speaking with @MadisonMolly2017 and watching her successful progression using small steps and realistic goals, I decided that I needed to change my end weight goal and time frame. I have not done well this fall and it would be unhealthy of me to try to reach my original goal by Valentine’s Day, especially when I have already lost so much and am closer to the end of the weight loss journey. My new goal by Valentine’s Day is 155. I do continue to strive to ultimately reach 145, perhaps by my birthday in May. Between now and my two goals dates, I plan on making mini goals and changes to help me achieve success. She has pointed out that small changes over time turn into big successes. Example: Add a 15 minute walk into my day 3 or 4 times per week. Add 10 additional ounces of water into each day. Slowly progress these into more. (Sometimes you just can’t jump into the whole 80 or 90 ounces at once). Thank you @MadisonMolly2017 for helping and for setting such a good example. I am grateful to you all for your kind & caring help. @GrandmaJackie for this wonderful ongoing challenge that reminds us all with daily weigh-ins that we should take it one day at a time and that there will be normal fluctuations and that we are all challenged in different ways. @abowersgirl for your good example in exercise and making even 5 spare minutes that I may have really count. @tiabirdie56 for all your research, your shared information on this Just Give Me challenge and for all the challenges that you present on the Autumn Winter 2018 to Spring 2019 Challenge that you host. @quiltingjaine (and all the others) who support me in my Keto efforts, not just to lose weight, but to change my overall health by improving (and maybe someday eliminating) my Type 2 Diabetes using my low carb keto lifestyle as a tool. @fitby44 for her FABULOUS post today. I think her insight this morning has the potential to change all of our lives. With more short term and attainable goals, I think complete success will come soon enough. Taking things slower and doing it more simply will help me keep my head up during my journey instead of always looking down at my feet in shame. Sorry for the long post but I think those that help us most deserve the shout out. But know this…. I learn so much from each and every one of you and I am honored to get the opportunity to know you all.
12/09 - 180.6 OMgosh. 248 Net Carbs, 1835 Calories so what else would I expect? I know I am retaining water already because I am shedding practically nothing. Ordered pizza at lunchtime for myself, son, his friend, and my friend Joey who helped bring everything in and begin the process of Christmas decorating. A HUGE undergoing as it involves my home AND my business. Tree looks lovely on the new carpet. Also a tree in the office at the front of my house (for motel & cabin customers). Later, a friend was “nice enough” to bring me a Chinese dinner from out-of-town. I know I should not have felt “obligated” to eat with her, but I did. The victory is that I did not eat the rice and I made my Cauliflower rice and stuck to the Almond Chicken, gravy and egg drop soup (only 1 carb in that!). However, the breading on the chicken….ugg but delicious. Boxes are still everywhere with the rest of the decorations for the house and business. All sitting there with boxes not yet finished from carpet installation. I can tell you this, I have been getting all my steps in! 10,000 – 15,000 daily for the past few days! Today I have four cabins to clean, all the laundry from them to do, and I want to finish my decorating. Lofty goals. However, I will get out to that freezer in the garage and thaw something in my plan today and will do things to make a difference today. I feel like I’m back in school, have missed a day and now need to do my make-up work. But that is the only way to keep my grades up and add another “A” to my grade book, so make-up work it is!
12/10 -
12/11 - I’ll have a very very early weigh-in and will post when I can. Traveling to the University Hospital for the Plastic Surgery consult regarding the breast issues related to the breast cancer (remission). I will be staying overnight.
12/12 - -Traveling, no weigh in.
12/13 - Final weigh-in directly after two days of traveling. This number will likely end in green instead of in-the-red. However, the appointments I am keeping is working on another aspect of my health. That, in itself, I hope will be a victory.

@quiltingjaine How long have you and Fluffy been friends? Her little digs are more like she's a frenemy. They also seem to be escalating with her attempts to shame you in front of others.
You are your own authority and deserve to be recognized for your accomplishments by your peers. It's definitely time to have a heart to heart talk with Fluffy, assuming you haven't already. If she's receptive and you feel you have resolution, then let her know you support her in her life choices. She may be projecting her feelings of shame on you in the form of judgement (as in she feels you may be judging her.)
If she chooses to cast shame and negativity your way, then it may be time to move on to healthier friendships.8 -

For me, a binge day usually takes two, sometimes three days to show up on the scale. But even at that the jump is water retention, not fat gain...so dont be too hard on yourself and just get back to it and drink lots of water and it should start heading back down.9 -

@GrandmaJackie I am repeating the example that @deepwoodslady has set, thank you for the thread. I am sure everyone here has made better choices, has found this group to be the most effective and motivating group on MFP and personally reading everyone's day to days has kept me going longer then any diet program or competitive group. I have never lasted a year on MFP and I am making it a personal goal to do so, this thread will definitley make it easier. I don't think I have ever had such great progress and commitment without. I could write pages and pages on how effective and life changing it has been to be here but I will end it here with a big thank you before I take a whole page up with my thoughts lol
@tiabirdie56 and @quiltingjaine thank you for all your wonderful advice and recipes, your years of wisdom have taught me more about this process then any self help book or advice from any RL strugglers. I dont think without the both of you I would have had realistic expectations and I just wanted you both to know how much I have appreciated every word you have written and commented on not only my posts but others.
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to post daily, no matter how much or how little you write I have found every individual inspirational in their own way and I dont think I have ever been more excited to read everyone's days to days in my life. In the past 5 or so months of being apart of this group, I have built better habits and have had less discouraging days then I would have had on my own. Thank you!!
Im with you on the never have i lasted a year on mfp amd echo all your other sentiments too! I have no doubt together with this group we will achieve our one year goals and then some!!9 -
Round 61 - (my 2nd round)
51, Standing: 5'9" in NYC
OSW: 274 ~ CSW: 234.2 ~ GW: 230
12/03 ~ 235.2 - End R60 not too bad overall. Down 1.6 lbs.
12/04 ~ 234.2 - SOOOORE is the word of the day.
12/05 ~ 233.1 - Unexpectedly had time yesterday and spent HOURS deep cleaning house, moving furniture, reorganizing closets and decorating for the holidays. So surprisingly not as sore today, but feeling achy enough in my knees and lower back to make this a rest day for sure. Hoping some mild stretching this morning and eve gets the kinks out ~ and the weight loss keeps dropping! Have a great day everyone.
12/06 ~ 232.9 - My sore body bows in gratitude and prays the good fortune continues, lol 🙏
12/07 ~ 232.8 - thought it would be higher, but a drop is a drop! Happy Friday all!
12/08 ~ 233.4 - Ate lightly yesterday but ended up finishing the night with a wine spritzer, crab cake and a piece of chocolate! Had extra calories, so still ended under in every category except fat of course, lol. 5 hours sleep has me feeling hungrier than usual this morning but no complaints.
12/09 ~ 233.6 - The past few days I've been increasing my calorie deficit, but I could tell this morning that's not a good strategy for me. It's obvious I'm not eating enough. I can feel my body hoarding like a cactus in the heat! Going to test my strategy and overeat a tiny bit today to see if that turns the wheel back in the right direction.

12/08--216.4 First time posting this round, but I was weighing. I was sick for a couple of days and not doing much. Going to my meeting this morning with the nutritionist since I started the elimination diet. She wants to review my food journal. When I was sick I realized how much I crave carbs for comfort...that was really difficult.
12/09--216.4 Great meeting with the nutritionist. She was impressed with my progress so far and was really encouraging. However, she did slap my hand for my inconsistent excercising, so that is what I am working on now. Based on reviewing my food journal, she thinks it may be the gluten and not the milk/eggs that are my problem. I will be seeing her in 2 weeks and then we should be starting to reintroduce some foods. Went to the gym this morning and plan on doing some cleaning and trying a new beef stew recipe.

12/4—216.2—That's 3.8 pounds since yesterday. The amount of water I was retaining with TOM was pretty impressive! Still not feeling great, but improving.
12/5—216.8—A bump up but this was an early weigh in. Not a real gain. I'm in week 3 of my pushups challenge and I can really see my improvement. I'm getting stronger every day!
12/6—217.8—Huh.

Big caloric deficit 4 of last 5 days! Very pleased. I am successfully curbing my calories in little bits here & there, but they add up! Sleeping more.
I got my motivation back❣
1) I realized I exercise a ton. Three times what is “needed to be healthy.”
2) I can feel I’m adding muscle, so scale will stay steady but then drop. AND my goal is Health. Muscles = Health❣
3) I looked over all my monthly average data & saw I need to trim back calories eaten some. Did it!

12/8 157 😵 ate lunch out today with DH.
Note for future: Eating our ONCE leads to more days of the same — for me.
12/9 157.4 From Bad to Worse ☹️ I’m completely flummoxed. I never gain this much in 1-2 days. I’ve been exercising, eating fewer calories, drinking water, macros are my normal... sodium is low (although I have eaten out so maybe it’s higher??) a Complete Shock. The only explanation I can fathom is when I eat out, I estimate. At home, I weigh all foods. So accuracy is lower when I eat our. But I could not have been off 3,500 calories x 2.6 lbs over 2 days!
Ate my regular breakfast this morning. I’m sure “this, too, shall pass.”
Hope to be 155 again by end of this Round❗️ I’m not worried, just really surprised. Maybe this is what I needed to decide in my heart if I’m going to maintain or lose now. #SilverLining

About me: 62, 5'7", hit maintenance in March 2018 and, typical yoyo, currently bouncing back up over original goal weight of 130.
Want to get back to 127-128
Crept back to JGM10D quietly in Round 60, after intentionally sitting out a number of rounds, because I need the daily accountability that worked before.
12/4 - 131.2 - over maintenance calories yesterday. Really tired plus sugary treats in the evening. Dropping goal calories to the .5 loss goal for this round, and we shall see!
12/5 - 130.4 - just at my new calorie limit that should result in .5 a week loss. 7500 steps and I do eat back as much of the fitbit calorie adjustment as I want to, that's worked for me before.
12/6 - 130.0 - just at my new gentle-loss calorie limit. 8500 steps. Poor sleep last night, can make for a weak-willed day, so I am on guard.
12/7 - 130.4 - yep I was over on calories yesterday. 7800 steps. However, did get almost 9 hours of sleep last night, much needed. Today I have a wellness check Dr appointment, something I rarely do!
12/8 -130.8 - over on calories and under on steps yesterday, only 5000. The after work snacking got me. Still, doing better so far today.
12/9 - 130.8- just under my .5 loss plan calories for yesterday, 7000 steps. Took a lovely 2 mile walk with our little rescue dog this morning - we've had her for only about 6 weeks - she is doing so much better with the "snoot loop" type collar, no longer getting my arm pulled off when she sees a squirrel or another dog or a bicyclist or a runner or ...

@quiltingjaine, @jerier, @abowersgirl I had to go back to the original post/question. Maybe, in her own way, she really is trying to be helpful, and we're being too hard on her. I vote to give her the benefit of the doubt and listen to see if she has any good suggestions. You never know, she may have some good ideas and. perhaps, talk herself into trying some of her own healthy selections. If that's Fluffy's worst habit, perhaps it's better to overlook the issue. My husband was on a little rant today about student bus riders taking their sweet time to get on the bus and holding up commuters trying to get to work in the mornings. Sure, it's annoying, but it's also temporary. We're only on this earth for a short while, then, for the rest of eternity, earthly annoyances won't be a concern. We have more important concerns in the limited time we have here.5

@quiltingjaine So sorry Fluffy can't voluntarily extract herself from your grille! Sounds like those comments are wearing and she may need to be gently ushered out of your biz. IMO this is not about any specific WOE but just a response to the fact that you HAVE a way of eating, which is bringing you success in your goals, and does not involve being a "see-food eater" hence, there are foods/quantities you choose not to eat.
My hubs and I remind each other, when we take flak for our choices about foods, drinks, smokes, that "if you do believe in something, you tend to make people very, very nervous." Quote is from dialog of Without Limits, a movie about runner Steve Prefontaine.
Hugs to you Jaine!7 -

@deepwoodslady and @abowersgirl - thank you for the warm welcome back. I'm happy to be back on the wagon and at least tracking again.
@quiltingjaine and @FarmerCarla - lol, yes Easter eggs at Xmas. I can't resist them. I'm in Canada where they're available all year round. They're called something other than Robin Eggs though - just can't remember the name now, but they're speckled and different pastel colours.5 -

This is my eigth round. I am thinking this is the perfect way to move through December, with mini-goals, support and comraderie. I would love to be at 155 by Christmas but will be happy just being solidly in the 150s! Let's make this a month of mindful celebrations taking time to appreciate our loved ones, our health, and our progress on this journey!

12/04 -- 160 -- A bump up...but a small one. I ate well and exercised well and posted a big loss last round, so I am not going to let this bother me. NSV -- Yesterday friends invited me to hike with them. I really enjoy walking in the woods, and the company....but in order to make sure I got my exercise in I snuck out for a fast 4 mile walk through the neighborhood before meeting them at 9. So glad that that was my inclination, rather than just writing it off for the day!
12/05 -- 158 -- Now that was a big drop! Fasted until dinner....but then I ate a big portion of salmon and veggies and made myself a LC cake. My energy levels were great all day too!
12/06 -- 161 -- Wow! That's crazy. I'm all over the place this round. Possibly I hallucinated yesterday's scale reading. I also was lightheaded in the morning, so had several cups of broth and then had Chinese for dinner, so maybe I overdid it on the sodium. I will drink lots of water today. We shall see! NSV--I'm not freaking out in the least over the scale this morning, nor is it ruining my day!
12/07 -- 160.5 -- A little better. Skipped the walk yesterday and did a lot of raking leaves. My son helped when he got home from school for 30 minutes, so that I could dash off and catch 45 minutes of zumba. I don't know if he was being sweet when he asked me when I had to leave, or whether he was just trying to have us be done in the yard more quickly!
12/08 -- 158.5 -- I looked at my weight graph and realized this weirdness shouldn't surprise me, as this is what it always does! Drops down, then pops back up for a couple days before continuing down.
12/09 -- 158.5 -- Happy this number stuck around. Bacon & omeletter for breakfast and then dinner party last night. I indulged in some scallopped potatoes, slice of bread and chocolate cake. Mostly back to being good today.

@Caseyloupuckett Weight fluctuations don't always have to do with what you ate...Sometimes your fat cells take on water before whooshing away, hence the upward fluctuations before a loss! Look at the trend and don't let the daily ups and downs get to you!8
