I don't own a microwave and never will. Despite being a coffee drinker, I don't own a coffee maker.
I do own my choices, mistakes and memories.6 -

The inside of it needs to be redone b/c the kids have drawn all over it, but I think it's pretty darn cool and I know no one else owns anything like it since it all came from my brain and his craftsmanship
I had originally just wanted a little hidey spot shaped like the Tardis. Just empty on the inside the kids could hide in. But then had a brilliant idea of making it a kitchen inside. Took a while to figure out a design that could be closed and opened.
Xmas a couple of years ago.. using it for the kids' stockings
Here it is opened up. My hubs did such an amazing job. Especially considering that this was his first attempt at doing anything like this.
That's a little phone on the door. That part of the door also swings open so you can get to the phone if it's all closed.
We had our old kitchen sink parts to use for the sink and the fake knobs for the oven hadn't been added yet.
We also used magnetic paint on the "fridge" part so the kids could put up magnets. The wood wasn't sanded down though so lots of grooves and such so magnets never stuck to it very well lol. Something that we can eventually fix.
First, That's awesome!! Second, It's smaller on the outside.

I have been thinking of doing the same. Recently I moved into a considerably smaller space than my previous home. Which is teaching me how to live with less. A dinning table isn’t something useful or practical in my home.
I know so many people who's dining rooms are rarely used, just closed off even and basically used at holidays...and just for eating. If you can re-purpose the area to something that gets used more often, why not.
Not to say pretty dining rooms aren't a nice thing to have, but if you have one I think you should use it.
I'm in a small space and I think I prefer it as empty as possible. Part of the reason I got rid of my stuff was it just doesn't suit this space, but as I shop to find a replacement, I've realized I don't need it, or think I want it.2 -
I own a modest little Batmobile collection that might be unusual to some. Really it’s for no reason at all other than the sense of fascination and enjoyment I get from it.13 -

I've never owned a dishwasher. I hate the taste of not quite all the way rinsed off dishwasher detergent on my dishes. Hand washing is best.3

Have never owned any kind of video game console. Always wanted my kids to read books or play outside so just never started habit of having one in my home.2

No kids here but I have never owned any kind of video game console either, not even in the 80s/90s when I was the kid myself. It just never interested me at all. My husband used to be a bit of a gamer in his twenties but he doesn't own anything like that anymore, either. I was pleasantly surprised when he told me he just wasn't interested since most guys I'd been with previously lived and died by their Xbox or PS-whatever.
I am pretty minimalist but couldn't stand not to have a dining table & chairs. I get the whole thing about an unused dining room, that would be a waste. But we eat all of our meals at the table and sometimes sit there to do art projects and stuff...it's more important to me than my living room furniture, really.4 -
I caved. Bought a windmill.5

I completely agree that handwashing is the best method for washing dishes. Even if I have heard several times the argument that the dishwasher disinfects the dishes better, I still find it leaves food and dish detergent residue on the dishes. It’s a relief to hear someone that shares that opinion.
Must be a crappy dishwasher. 🤷🏼♀️ I have never heard of this.2 -
