Started Keto WOE on September 24th (2018). Still experiencing decreased arthritis hip and shoulder pain since the second week of Keto. Staying within calorie limits is easy enough, but not exceeding my carb limit is difficult. I don’t use my KetoMojo meter every day, but I think I’ve only been out of ketosis for a couple of days since the second week when the meter arrived. Some of my NSVs: feeling less self-conscious, wedding band fits, smaller clothing, and my happy husband, whether he’s inspired to quit his cigarette habit or not. Rounds 54 – 63 resulted in a cumulative loss of 29.6 lb. in 100 days! Another 12.4 lb. down, and I’ll switch to maintenance. This time, I’ll continue to check in—I’ve learned my lesson! Besides, I like hanging out with you sweet folks.

01/03 147.2 Going back to work yesterday felt strange. I hadn’t been to work since mid-April (end of tax season). I didn’t have time to eat breakfast (egg, cheese, nuts, avocado), so I took it with me, but forgot to eat it. I took my turkey cabbage stew for lunch, which I ate, and I had a good dinner when I came home. On the way home, I picked up a pair of well-fitting black slacks at the Salvation Army Store. It’s a great place for “transition” clothing, and every Wednesday all the clothing is ½ price. My husband loves the inexpensive designer shirts I pick up for him. 😊
01/04 146.6 After playing cards with my friends for a few hours yesterday, I noticed sunshine, so Thor and I took a 4-mile walk. I haven’t formed an opinion on my new orthotics yet. I had a little toe pain, but not enough to slow us down. The torn meniscus in my knee seems to be doing okay. It may just be the steroid injection working, but I hope it’s actually healing.
01/05 [146.0[/B] Thor and I had a 5 mile walk yesterday in the beautiful sunshine. I may show a gain tomorrow after my date day with DH today. We watched a movie, and I ate popcorn, one of the tortillas on my fish tacos for lunch, and half of the sweet coleslaw. They don’t have to make it that sweet. (sigh) I’ve decided to go all out and eat a bite, maybe two, of the leftover pecan pie. It’s starting to get old, but I assume all the sugar is preserving it. My ketone level was over 3 last night, so perhaps I’ll survive today’s carbs without getting out of ketosis? We’ll see. I enjoyed the movie and time with my husband and the popcorn. I really like popcorn.
01/06 146.6 If the scale is going to punish me for yesterday, it hasn’t started yet. I prayed for you, @amfmmamma, but you’ll probably be sore tomorrow! I’m about to head to church, then a concern engagement this evening, so no walk today. Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone. This is the day the Lord hath made! 😊
01/07 146.0 I enjoyed our concert last night. It was the debut of our new “Joy in the Journey” ministry theme. I have the joy of the Lord
in my spiritual journey, as well as joy in my fitness journey! We stopped for dinner and our “afterglow” on the way home last night, and I enjoyed a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. I could have gone to work today, but it may be one of the last nice days for a while, so I’ll take a walk with Thor instead. I’m glad I can still work, but it’s nice to be retired and have a choice. Getting older has a few benefits.

Crept back to JGM10D quietly and somewhat inconsistently in Round 60 but now I am back (for reals!)
1/3 - 132.8 - 8000 steps yesterday and under my calorie goal, currently set to -.5/week
1/4 - 131.8 - 7K steps, 12 minute vigorous row, and under calorie goal yesterday. Also 12 hours of work... went back late evening to after midnight, life of a sysadmin, then keyed up and couldn't sleep much. Today is a day to beware and not blow it!
1/5 - 131.0 - 8K steps and just under calorie goal yesterday. Got a great night's sleep but still feeling a little transparent. Love a rainy day. Good for taking care of myself.
1/6 - 132.6 - expected bounce and no worries! 15K steps yesterday including a huge rainy walk run with my dog, under calorie goal.
1/7 - 132.4 - yesterday 11K steps, got a little bodyweight strength work done, still raining, under calorie goal.

I am back! I have no idea how many rounds I have done, but I need to get back on track. The last couple of weeks have been a little weird for me and I have not been great. I was hitting low days of 150/151 and high days of 155/156. So I have been all over the place. I will hit 149 this round without fail!

01/03 - 156.3 uuuggghhh, almost just skipped today, but decided to log it, own it, accept it, and be accountable. I ate 2 pancakes yesterday and the carbs and sugar destroyed me. I am sure this is also the rest of my New Years day celebration repercussions to. 2 days ago (Tuesday) I was at 151. Carbs, sodium, and not enough water kill me for some reason. Oh well, back at work today for the first time in a week and going to get back on track. I am sure I will be back down tomorrow to something at least manageable. Weighing and logging daily has at least taught me not to freak out about these things. I know I could not have gained 5 pounds in 2 days, but it is still frustrating to see that number. Next week I will be back at work all week and can get back on schedule.
01/04 - 153.3 I was expecting a pretty good drop. Stayed on track calorie wise yesterday and drank a ton of water. I'm hoping to be back down to 151 tomorrow and be good through the weekend. If I can start Monday on a half way decent start I will be happy.
01/05 - 151.7 and I’m back down. I have grocery shopping and house cleaning to do today. I also need to get all my Christmas stuff put back into the shed. DH has to work today so it should be a pretty low calorie day. Yesterday was a good day. It’s so easy to stay on track when I work and have a routine. I’m trying hard to stay the course and shed these last 15 pounds this year. I’m hoping to get back to losing my 4 pounds a month like I was before all the holidays started.
01/06 - 151.7 same today. Did well yesterday. Didn’t make the best food choices, but stayed at calories. Got all my Christmas stuff finally put away and my house is back to normal. It’s such a nice feeling waking up and not having all the clutter. Lol. DH and all the kids will be home today, so that will be nice. Kids finally go back to school tomorrow, thank goodness! So relaxing and getting stuff ready for them tomorrow is what is on the agenda today. It will be nice to get back on routine again.
01/07 - 153.2 up a bit, but very expected. DH decided to order Italian take-out for lunch yesterday. I did eat a salad first, but still ended up having 2 pieces of garlic cheese bread (so amazing) and Alfredo. Then decided we were going to make cinnamon rolls. So of course I had one of those with a beer. Yeah, my DH and kids do not help me at all on the weekends, lol. Did get all the kids off to school today and I am back at work! I haven't worked 5 days in a row in what seems like forever, but it has actually only been a month. Looking forward to seeing what happens at the end of this round now that I am back on track.

Ah, the mysteries of calories, exercise, averages, and weight. I walked and hour+ yesterday, happily outdoors as it was 58F! No idea why I bounced back up. I did bake some whole wheat applesauce carrot honey muffins last night, and I ate 1, but that was only 130. I have been slacking on veggies, so that may be part of it. Onward! Finally trending down a little. Today's the day I restart eating against inflammation. I'm aiming for lots of fish and veggies, and am cutting dairy, gluten, and added sugar for now. We shall see. Also, recommended reading -- Food Sanity by Dr. David Friedman. He looks at various eating styles -- paleo, keto, and more - and the research that supports or contradicts them. Useful info!

01/03 - 182.9 Whoosh! I am going to pretend that ugly 185 number didn't happen yesterday because this is where I expected to be - just took another day. The holidays are over and I am down - only .03 pounds but it's down. As long as the weather holds out I'll go for a walk this afternoon. I should be able to get in 3 miles before it's too dark. If I didn't have this stinky job I could really do more trail walking. Go home, get my dog and head to Kill Creek Trail for a day of romping in the chilly sunshine. Instead I'll stay here in my office and work
01/04 - 183.2 And back up we go. This roller coaster ride is making me queasy! I got in 5 miles yesterday - the fastest I have ever walked that far. I don't care if I'm up a little bit, I'm healthier than I was 24 hours ago. I'm going to go at least 3 tonight maybe 4 who knows.
01/05 - 183.0 The roller coaster goes down. I did eat back all of my calories yesterday, which I never do so I'm glad to see a small reduction today. I got to leave work a little early and talk a nice sunny winter 3 mile walk. Finally taking Christmas down today - that will burn some caloriesThen a walk this afternoon and then WHO KNOWS!
01/06 - 182.7 I did get in 3 miles yesterday. Took down the tree and spent quality time with family. That's as good as a Saturday gets. Today taking the Christmas stuff I went thru to goodwill and another walk I think. I'm traveling for work this week and need to exercise while I can. I won't be able to on Tuesday or Wednesday so walk today, gym tomorrow, two days off then back on the trail on Thursday.
01/07 - 183.0 After a one day dip the roller coaster goes up a bit. Probably the sodium from yesterday's lunch. I was under on calories and walked 4 miles. I'm not sure what else I can do but stick to the plan and know it works. I have five days left and I'm afraid I'll be right where I started. I have a four hour drive this afternoon then I'll stop at a gym close to my hotel for weights. Of course my food will be difficult this trip because I will have limited options for food tomorrow and Wednesday. I'm going for training where they bring in sandwiches, then a company dinner, then more sandwiches the next day. I hate these trainings where we don't get to go to lunch but have to eat whatever is brought in. I'm picky and do not like cold sandwiches. First world problems I know but when you're watching what you eat it's impossible to avoid sodium - it will be sliced turkey, beef, chicken, or ham. ALL salt bombs. Overly mayonnaise potato salad and cookies for dessert. The only thing I like is the cookie. They feel they're being healthy by offering turkey on wheat, and oatmeal raisin cookies. Maybe this time will be different. Maybe...

01/03- Started the weekend walking and tripped over the water shut off valve on the sidewalk, had a hard fall. Worked on stretching today. Lots of huge bruises, cuts, and sore muscles.
01/04- Enjoyed a family day, went to the movies, a short walk in the sunshine and worked on crafts with the grand children. Continued stretching the bruising on my hand has not went down since Sunday.
01/05- working on getting my steps up, and doing lots of stretching.Planning my meals for next week.
01/06- Five years today - logging my food, on MFP.
01/07-My steps are going back up, 10,000+, healthy eating, back on track.

@tiabirdie56 I just finished dehydrating a pound of soaked, skinned almonds. We like them! I'll probably add a little more salt next time. The most time-consuming part was skinning them after the soak. I don't know if leaving the skins on makes a difference. I think I'll leave the skins on the ones that don't come off easily next go-around. I soaked them for 18 hours, then dehydrated them at 150 degrees for about 18 hours. These are easier for my husband to eat. I read they're supposed to aid digestion after soaking. One recommendation I read, too late, was to dehydrate them at 115 degrees for 24 hours. I'll try that next time. Thanks for the tip!5

01/03 - 170.7 lbs - I’m 62 and live in southwest Missouri, USA. Wife of a country boy. Raised in the city, now a country girl. Mom of two adult girls. Grandmother of two. Very happy to be part of this group.
01/04 - 169.9 - My 40th wedding anniversary is August 11! That’s 31 weeks away. I would love to get down to the weight I was on my wedding day. I think it was around 125. That would be a great present to my husband and myself. If I lose a pound a week I can be 138.9. Even that would be awesome.
01/05 - 169.2 - I over indulged today. It’ll probably show on the scale tomorrow. But then again, I was holding onto some water weight and I think that is gone today. Ok, I have no idea what to expect in the morning! I also didn’t work out today. I had to work extra and run errands. I have to work on making my myself a priority.
01/06 - 169.2 - Held steady! That'sgood. Goals for tomorrow are to drink 80 oz water, reach my step goal of 8500, complete my strength workout, stay under my calorie goal, and log everything.
01/07 - 167.7 - That was a nice surprise this morning! Didn’t get my strength training done, but met my other goals. I have the hardest time drinking enough water. I tend to reach for my coffee with mocha creamer. I like some herbal teas so I’ll add that as a goal for tomorrow. I will replace one coffee with an herbal tea.

01/07 86.9kg stayed in the green for food yesterday and was up at 5 am for 1st run of the year. 3 km using the Nike app and in the rain!

01/03--213.4 Went to the gym to lift weights this morning and while I know a lot more people go to the gym at the start of the year I was still surprised that at 5 am there were so many more people than usual. It's rainy and windy today, so I will probably just do some work arond the house as I continue to wait for the shutdown to end.
01/04--215.3 Bump in weight due to extra water retention and extra sodium from going out to eat last night, it was a last minute decision. Definitely feeling heavy this morning. Today I have to run around and do some errands and do some cleaning to get ready for tomorrow when the in-laws come by to celebrate my husbands' and my brother-in-laws' birthdays. Plan today is to make sure I get my water in.
01/05--216.2 Normal for me to have a second day bump in weight after eating out. Feeling very heavy this morning, I'm sure I ate something that I was allergic to when I went out to eat 2 days ago. Going out for a birthday lunch today, so I have to be more conscious of what I am eating today. If weather holds up I will take dog for a wallk after the birthday festivities today.

01/07--216.4 Wow, 3lb bump on the scale in 5 days. It's fascinating to see what happens when I eat foods that I am sensitive/allergic to. Yesterday my power went out all day, so I couldn't go to the gym because it was closed and I ended up going out for breakfast. So, in the last 4 days, I've gone out to eat 3 times and I'm sure I ate something I am sensitive to in every meal that I ate. Adding in the sodium, that definitely accounts for the 3lb increase. Today I got back on track, but I can definitely feel that my digestion is not happy with what I have been eating, it's funny but I used to feel this way all the time before I started the elimination diet and I thought it was normal. Tomorrow my husband wants to go out to his favorite restaurant for his birthday dinner and I have already planned what I am going to eat. I went out for a 1 hour walk with the dog today.

01/05: 235.5. I ate 1700 calories and did 2 hours of exercise (lifting weights and walking).
01/06: 235.5. 1900 calories for the day. Walked for 90 minutes.
01/07: 235.0. I consumed 1900 calories. Lifted weights for 40 minutes and walked for 90 minutes. I'm still going higher than planned on calories, but it's still below maintenance along with a good amount of exercise.

01/06 - 133.3 (cheat meal turned into cheat day, turned into booze and binge and takeout. Horrific. Hoping seeing these gross patterns in black and white will trigger something in me)
01/07 - 133.3 (worked out, ate low carb, could've definitely done better on portion control)
01/08 - 131.7 (ate pretty clean, limited portions, didn't work out though. Struggling to get enough water. Aim to do better on this front tomorrow.
