HAPPY NEW YEAR!Hello everyone! I am excited to finally reach my goals in 2019 (claiming it!!) I’ve been at about a 6month plateau stuck in the 190s...a viscous cycle of lose gain lose gain. I am going to pay more attention to my nutrition, drink more water, and increase intensity of my workouts . Let’s do this!
Day/Weight/Comment
01/03: 195.8
01/04:193.0 lots of water yesterday and didn’t eat last night. I was stressed
01/05: 193.2
01/06:192.8
01/07: 193.4
01/08: 193.0 first day off for a week this is usually when I mess up. I have lunch planned so that’s good what’s everyone eating for dinner? I need some good ideas

I'm going to start mid week with you all, I feel like If I continue to push it off the more weight I will gain. I've done this challenge before and it work for me so here I am again hoping to keep this going till I reach my goal.
Jan 8- 192 I did a ten minute workout this morning, and have my healthy lunch packed for the day...let's get this started 😊13 -

I have to do that with kettle corn. On the rare occasions I get kettle corn, I eat too much of it, so I tell my husband I need an intervention and he takes it and hides it. I can have it if I specifically ask for it, but usually I forget about it! Our partners and other family can play a huge supporting role when we have our foibles.

Round 64 SW: 217.2
1/7—217.2—Hello friends and friends-I-haven't-met-yet! I hope everyone had some break time. I had some vacation days, some lounging about days, and some recharging my batteries for 2019 days. I'm starting this round at almost the same as my start weight for round 62, which pleases me.
1/8—219—Digestive whammy. I forgot to mention yesterday that I'm continuing on my quest to be able to do 100 pushups by the end of 2019. When I started, I could do 4. Now I can do 20! The program I'm using requires me to hit certain goals before I can move on to the next level, and I need to get to 31 before I can move on. In the meantime, I'm repeating week 4 a few million times.17 -

Please join us! Starting on 01/03 JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, we will begin Round 64
Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

1/2 - 206.4
1/3 - did not weigh myself
1/4 - 208.4. I’m a little surprised I jumped that much. I worked out two days ago and normally I see a gain after that but I thought it would be gone by now. Hopefully it will be by tomorrow
1/5 - 208.4. Can’t wait for the scale to start moving down again. Woke up today and did a power walk workout on my treadmill. Hopefully I can keep things in check this weekend.
1/6 - 208.4. I guess this is okay given it’s the weekend and I normally gain over the weekend. Will plan and drink lots of water today.
1/7 - 208.2. Very slow progress but what is positive about this number is that for the first time in almost forever I had a loss over the weekend. I’m going to celebrate that and use it to motivate me. Plan to stay on track today, walk at lunch and try to get a treadmill workout in tonight.
1/8 - 206.4. That’s the whoosh I’ve been hoping would happen (again). Have my day all mapped out. Won’t get a lot of steps in but trying for 1000 more than yesterday. Making up for it by drinking more water.16 -

01/03 286.4 and 8.0pounds down since I started. Hoping to find Fitbit charger so I can accurately check my calories burned daily.
01/04 285.2 I normally weigh in every morning after I get up and pee so this is a nice way to be able to log everything. *Update on my day although not weight related* Found out my father in law has cancer in the hips and lungs today, feeling so down and bad for my MIL. They are such good people and she lost her dad last January so this is really a blow to her.
01/05 284.9: 9.1 lbs down. Maybe tomorrow I’ll hit 10. 🤞🏾🤞🏾
01/06 286.2: and frustrated. Didn’t lose but gained and was really hoping to hit my 10 lb loss today. I drank some wine last night but was still in my calorie allotment so I’m feeling like it was the pad thai and all those carbs. Anyhow, here’s to a new day. I got a new Fitbit yesterday as well so hoping that will help motivate me with steps and everything. I’ve also had a killer headache since last night and today will probably be a lazy day.
01/07 287.4 and really annoyed now. How the hell did I gain 3 pounds this weekend? I stayed below my calorie limit even though it was a little higher than the last few days. It has to be the carbs. I did read that a Norma daily fluctuation can be 3-5 pounds but it sucks to see any higher number when I’m working so hard to lose. Anyhow, today will be a good day. I have an interview for a healthcare job that I’ve wanted for a while. Luck and prayers are being accepted!
01/08 286.2 Going back down again, thank goodness! I should hear back about the job either today or tomorrow and my stomach is just in knots. I do have another interview today at 1030 but it’s for a job that I don’t really want. School starts again Monday and I’m so ready to get this semester on the road! Hoping to see the scale go down again tomorrow. Here’s to hoping!

Yesterday I recommended (based on reading the intro) the book Food Sanity by Dr. David Friedman. I take it back. While there is some good info, Dr. Friedman's "science" is very shaky (my background is in anthropology, and his chapter on paleo and its basis in our species' history is underwhelming, to say the least) and many of his arguments read like junior high writing. I'm disappointed - I like the premise, but once I read material I know is incorrect I just can't trust the author re. the things I don't know. There's my review for what it's worth (and the book has many good ones online). Back to better sources for me!
@SheilaBoneham, I love that you read more and thought to come back in and retract your recommendation. It can be hard for me sometimes to say when I got too enthusiastic and jumped the gun. You are awesome.6 -

@wellnfree I agree about fear being a motivator. I have admitted several times that I avoid what used to be yummy carbs for fear I will like them and eat them uncontrollably. However, I am now at a point where I will try them and amazed to find they don’t even taste good anymore. Nevertheless, I still fear losing control.2

Hi Stephanie, sending prayers you get the job you want! 🙏
Just wanted to add one of the biggest weight challenges for us women is STRESS ... even if eating right and exercising, stress will pack on the pounds! I've also read that those with 3-5 negative life events within a few year time period are 40% more likely to be obese than those with no negative life events. How insane is that? One of the reasons why yoga and meditation is so good for us. Personally I could use a lot more of both7 -

Round 64 - Round 1.5 for me
Round 63 - SW=209.5, EW =205.7
Diagnosed with Type II Diabetes - November 10, 2016 A1C = 8.5%, September 21, 2018 A1C = 6.1%
Current Weight - 205.7
First Challenge (Round 63) Weight - 209.5
Highest Weight - 227.8, May 2016
Goal Weight - 199
Ultimate Goal Weight - 194
Goals -
* Under 1900 cals each day
* No blood glucose tests above 180
* Run 5 days above 2.5 miles
1/3 - 205.7, Happy that I did not eat a lot, but did not track and overall choices not great. Need to get on the darn treadmill and make sure testing blood glucose consistently. Focusing on tomorrow's goals.
1/4 - 204.2, Fairly happy. Relatively good eating and a blood glucose of 96 right before bed which was fantastic. A key to success in managing my type II is staying off the carbs after 3PM. Still need to get on the treadmill and track food intake.
1/5 - 202.8, Pretty good day. Ate a light and healthy breakfast and lunch. Went out for dinner and ate so-so, but did not over eat. Big win was 2.7 miles on the treadmill in 30 minutes. Going to try to track food tomorrow. Want to start posting calories and steps for more accountability.
1/6 - 202.8 (1,095 calories in and 11,241 steps). Very good day. First time I ever tracked every single item I ate. Took my son to the newly opened Top Golf. I did not realize it was a bar food place. Only drank unsweetened iced tea. Did not do a lot of walking all day, but hit the treadmill at 8PM. Got in a great 2.7 miles/30 minute run. Interested to see what the scale says tomorrow morning.
1/7 - 200.8 (1,180 calories in and 12,381 steps). Relatively happy today. Second day in a row tracking everything I ate. One bad choice that shot blood glucose up to 239, but one bad choice is better than many. Ran on treadmill for 30 minutes for 2.8 miles. Hoping the scale goes under 200 tomorrow.
1/8 - 199.7 - WOW!!! Have not seen this number in 20 years. Extremely happy. Need to make this sustainable and go for another 6.
@milktruckd Huge congrats!!7 -

It will get better as they get to know each other but it will never be easy. My own GP refused to take him as his needs were too complex so we are starting from zero. Starting today with a workout to try and vent some of the stress.
