Round 64
Please join us! Starting on 01/03 JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, we will begin Round 64
Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

Day/Weight/Comment
01/01 - 145.1 ~ (Steps 19,253) ~ I decided to reset my ticker, I’m 3.3 pounds heavier the last New Years but I call that a win. Plus I realize that Round 63 is still going but I need to start focusing on the New Year now. Today I went to a Boot Camp class at the gym, love it....
01/02 143.5 ~ (Steps 12,635) ~ We do anything special yesterday, my husband watched football so I got a couple sessions at the gym. My son was supposed to stop but didn’t, on the bright side on News Years Eve he announced his engagement. My baby is getting married, okay he’ll turn 31 but he’ll always be my baby, My future DIL is adorable such an adorable couple.
01/03 144.4 ~ (Steps 22,887) ~ Another successful day even though the scale is up. I was able to not have a snack last night, which is a win,
01/04 - 145.2~ (Steps 10,196) ~ Unexpected weight gain, lol
01/05 - 145.6 ~ (Steps 19,510) ~ I did sync my new scale so I’m okay with this!
01/06 144.8 ~ (Steps 9,510) ~ I took my grandkids to the Hands On Kids Museum since my daughter had to work, we had a blast. Plus I slept like a baby hanging out with 8 and 4 year old during the day, I’m loving the honesty my scale is having on my journey. Today my main focus is continuing on healthy food choices.....
01/07 - 144.5 ~ (Steps 17,628) ~ Yesterday was a tough day as far as emotionally eating but I didn’t give in, yay!
01/08 143.7 ~ (Steps 19,561) ~ Besides again the day didn’t go as planned I was able to stay focus. The scale is starting to corporate with me, yay!
01/09 145.2 ~ (Steps 19,470) ~ 😈😭😈.....REALLY...........I decided back in December I wanted a new scale that will sync up with MFP since I weigh in every morning. I have accepted the fact that our weight will fluctuate every day due to our sodium, DOM, underestimating our calorie intake and other factors. I’ve been on this journey for a long time so if I have a bad day....I can jump right back on the horse.....But that being said sometimes you just want to toss the scale out the bathroom window. The ONLY reason I don’t my neighbors might not like it, lol.
Even though the scale is up by 1.5 pounds at least the last week I was able to be successful in my food choices and workouts. I’m keeping lots of fruit in the house because LNS is my struggle, I can do this consistency, focus......
Okay, I think my rant is over for now, lol.
The key to weight loss in consistency...
01/10 145.2 ~ (Steps 16,828)
01/11 146.5 ~ (Steps 17,187) ~ Not the best food choices, 👿😢

Thanks for the support, Jaine. I had a good day today. #OneDayAtATime is my motto right now. Not sure why I'm having such a hard time right now. I've done great over the past year and a half. Struggling for the moment, but trying to get back in the groove.4 -
@FarmerCarla - You're so sweet, but I'm not having any issues with employment. In fact, my tax season starts Monday and I'll be working about 12 hours a day, 6 days a week for the next 3 months. The story was about my husband's job hunting woes while in his 50's. He is still working at the lower paying job, but I can tell he's getting excited as he nears 62 and becomes eligible for early Social Security.4

Keto is my friend right now and of course the hard work I’m putting into it to stay strict and focused. Knocked this rounds goal out of the park! Keep moving down and forward.

Day/Weight/Comment
01/03--213.4 Went to the gym to lift weights this morning and while I know a lot more people go to the gym at the start of the year I was still surprised that at 5 am there were so many more people than usual. It's rainy and windy today, so I will probably just do some work around the house as I continue to wait for the shutdown to end.
01/04--215.3 Bump in weight due to extra water retention and extra sodium from going out to eat last night, it was a last minute decision. Definitely feeling heavy this morning. Today I have to run around and do some errands and do some cleaning to get ready for tomorrow when the in-laws come by to celebrate my husbands' and my brother-in-laws' birthdays. Plan today is to make sure I get my water in.
01/05--216.2 Normal for me to have a second day bump in weight after eating out. Feeling very heavy this morning, I'm sure I ate something that I was allergic to when I went out to eat 2 days ago. Going out for a birthday lunch today, so I have to be more conscious of what I am eating today. If weather holds up I will take dog for a walk after the birthday festivities today.
01/06--216.4
01/07--216.4 Wow, 3lb bump on the scale in 5 days. It's fascinating to see what happens when I eat foods that I am sensitive/allergic to. Yesterday my power went out all day, so I couldn't go to the gym because it was closed and I ended up going out for breakfast. So, in the last 4 days, I've gone out to eat 3 times and I'm sure I ate something I am sensitive to in every meal that I ate. Adding in the sodium, that definitely accounts for the 3lb increase. Today I got back on track, but I can definitely feel that my digestion is not happy with what I have been eating, it's funny but I used to feel this way all the time before I started the elimination diet and I thought it was normal. Tomorrow my husband wants to go out to his favorite restaurant for his birthday dinner and I have already planned what I am going to eat. I went out for a 1 hour walk with the dog today.
01/08--217.4
01/09--216.4 Husband and I went out for an amazing dinner for hubby's birthday. I ate as well as a could with my elimination diet parameters, but I definitely ate a few things that weren't, but the food was so good so I will live with the consequences. The last of my eating out is done for awhile, so got back on track as of this morning. Yoga tonight.
01/10--215.3 Missed the gym this morning, I had trouble sleeping and couldn't think to wake up at 4:45. My plan is go to the gym later this afternoon when I hope the gym is pretty quiet.
01/11--215.1 Ended up going to the gym yesterday afternoon. Went to my nutritionist today, she wants me to work on being more conscious with my eating and being more aware of why I eat something when I never planned to eat it. Got called back in to work just for today even though I'm furloughed. It was weird being in the office after 3 weeks, but the structure of going to work today had me drinking a lot more water. Weather tomorrow is supposed to be nice, so plan tomorrow is to take my dog and go out with our dog walking/hiking group.

Day/Weight/Comment
01/05: 235.5. I ate 1700 calories and did 2 hours of exercise (lifting weights and walking).
01/06: 235.5. 1900 calories for the day. Walked for 90 minutes.
01/07: 235.0. I consumed 1900 calories. Lifted weights for 40 minutes and walked for 90 minutes. I'm still going higher than planned on calories, but it's still below maintenance along with a good amount of exercise.
01/08: 234.5. I'm glad to see a downward trend with my weight. It's been awhile since I've seen that. Around 2200 calories today because I ate at an Italian restaurant. I walked for 90 minutes and completed a 35 minute workout so I was still in a deficit.
01/09: 235.0. 2000 calories today. 35 minutes of weight lifting and 90 minutes of walking.
01/10: 235.0. 2100 calories. 120 minutes of walking.
01/11: I forgot to weigh this morning. 2100 calories. 45 minutes workout. 75 minute walk.

Round 54
SW - 242lbs
GW - 238lbs
Day/Weight/Comment
01/03 - 240.5lb - expected to lose some water weight from the kind of food I’ve been eating but also expect to lose some as TOM is due in next few days so I normally a lb or two with that. Getting back on track with healthy eating and putting all the festivities behind me
01/04 - 240.1lb - I’ll take this
01/05 - 238.25 - TOM started yesterday so water weight coming off and that combined with good deficits. Still feeling quite disappointed with a gain over Christmas however atleast its coming off quickly and not as bad as it first appeared. If this weight sticks I will set a new goal for this round.
01/06 - 239lb - slight fluctuation. Met with my family last night and they suggested doing a weekly weigh in again, this was how I actually became motivated to lose weight back in September and it worked well for a few weeks but then people dropped off and eventually it was just me doing it. I definitely find the accountability helps me but then find it really hard when others are on and off to keep myself on and not just join them if that makes sense. We will see how it goes 😅
01/07 - 237.85lb - slowly coming back off. I think I’d like at least another lb off by the end of this round so going to set a revised goal of 236.5lb.
01/08 - 237.1lb - I’m happy it’s moving but obviously this is all work I’d already done and then redone so not quite the same feeling about it. Will be happy when I’m hitting new lows again
01/09 - 236lb - - hopefully this number sticks around as that’s my goal for this round.
01/10 - 235lb - very nearly back to pre-Christmas low (233.8lb)
01/11 - 234.1lb - - so very close to my lowest pre-Christmas, it would be great to finish this round back at where I was ready to start hitting new lows again next round but I am still very happy with this round even if I stayed here.
01/12 - 234.1lb - very happy with this round, a lot of it will have been water weight but a decent amount hard work too 💪🏻 the aim next round will be to start seeing new lows again
Loss this Round - 7.9lb

01/09 86.1kg in the green and strength training completed last night. Early morning run - just a short recovery run as Nike told me!
01/10 86.2 kg managed the training and tried to eat well at BF birthday but a tiny gain. Back on track today
01/11 85.7kg ran this morning 7 fast mins and 10 slow. Trained yesterday and even did a little yoga. Already signed up for next round!

01/03 - 131.7 (didn't work out, ordered takeout 😖)
01/04 - 132.1
01/05 - 132.4 (ate the right food but did terribly with portion control. did a good workout though. Today is my one cheat meal for the week so expecting a spike tomorrow. Goal is to make sure I workout pre-cheat)
01/06 - 133.3 (cheat meal turned into cheat day, turned into booze and binge and takeout. Horrific. Hoping seeing these gross patterns in black and white will trigger something in me)
01/07 - 133.3 (worked out, ate low carb, could've definitely done better on portion control)
01/08 - 131.7 (ate pretty clean, limited portions, didn't work out though. Struggling to get enough water. Aim to do better on this front tomorrow.
01/09 - 131.1 (ate clean, limited portions, drank >3l of water and worked out. Only manage 20 mins of a 30 min workout though. Aim aiming for a minimum of 30 min of work out every week day because outside of that my lifestyle is very sedentary.)
01/10 - 130.8 (ate clean, limited portions, got enough water, but didn't work out.)
01/11 - 130.9 (I guess that the end of the water weight swoosh. Ate well, drank enough water, did the hardest lower body workout of my entire life. I get to do my cheat meal tomorrow. This is usually where it goes very wrong.
This group has helped me hugely with consistency so far. Hoping I manage to limit it to one meal and it doesn't turn into the day-long freezing frenzy it usually does.)
01/12 - 130.5 (Yesterday, I had serious carb cravings. Usually, I'd go to the supermarket and buy enough snacks for a party of people and eat it all myself in a matter of minutes. This time, knowing that I was one day away from completing my first round here, I resisted. Appreciate everyone here so much for helping me, without you even knowing it. really happy with the 1kg loss, given that I had two super-icky all-out binge days at the beginning. For R65, I want to work out on at least 7 of the 10 days. Game on!)11 -
SW 73.9kg
GW this round 72.5
UGW 50kg
Day/Weight/Comment
01/06 - 73.9kg This is my starting weight and the heaviest I have ever been without being pregnant! Today is the day this stops. Hoping to see a 1 kg drop by the end of this session. I know I can do this, I just have to get my head in the right place and keep in mind why I want to lose this weight.
01/07 – 73.4kg Ate pretty well yesterday, though still slightly above target. I was planning on exercising while my daughter was doing her gymnastics training, but I got involved with setting up and unpacking her new gym. I guess in a way that was exercise since I was carrying boxes and walking around a lot. I plan on doing a lot of exercise today though, including an hour of Zumba and an hour of adult gymnastics.
01/08 - 72.6kg Ate really well and stayed slightly under calories. I also got over 1000 calories worth of exercise. Plus, one more day alcohol free!
01/09 – 72.5 kg Ate a lot of salt yesterday in the form of McDonalds and popcorn. I am trying to make this a lifestyle change, not a diet, so I allowed myself to have the McDonalds I always have, but made sure I tracked it. Due to the fact that everything else I ate that day, minus the late night popcorn, was healthy, I manage to only go over my calorie goal by a little bit. I am actually quite proud of myself for this accomplishment.
01/10 72.6 - I am not surprised by this. Had migraine yesterday and slept until 11. I didn’t manage to get any workouts in and I took the easy route and ordered pizza for the family for dinner. I also had popcorn again while watching tv with my hubby. I think the popcorn eating is something I am going to have to work on, since I am eating it only because we are watching tv and I want it, not because I am hungry. However, I still managed to stay right at calorie goal. Hopefully with enough water, mindful eating and an easy workout today I can shed this little bit of gain so I can finish this round at goal.
01/11 - 72.8kg not surprised, bad eating day. I let myself go and ate everything in site. However, I will not let this derail me. Tomorrow I will get back on track
01/12 - 72.4 kg - Got right back on track today which is a huge accomplishment for me. Typically I would just say oh well, I messed up yesterday lets just keep messing up. But today, I just sucked it up and moved on and got back to somewhat healthy eating. Unfortunately, I am still struggling with late night popcorn cravings. It could be worse, I know, but I have to find some will power somewhere to get this under control. I will say, though, that I am starting to realise that eating popcorn that late makes me feel puffy and bloated the next day, which I really don’t enjoy.
And I did it!! My first round completed, and with a loss too!! I am over the moon right now and feel strong and motivated to continue into my second round.12 -
Back for another year. Planning to post weight each morning, and post comments for the previous day.

We get 10 weeks temporary membership at the centre, a Boditrax health/fitness analysis at the beginning, 10 x 1hr sessions with a personal coach, and another analysis at the end to see how we have done. It's just what I need to make the final, push to my Ideal goal weight.
12/01: 166.5: Goals One more lb of Xmas excess to discard. Out most of today with my DYD. It will keep me away from temptation.
THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

After long haul flights and plane/airport food yesterday. Back to work, the gym and logging everything that passes my lips today.01/03 72.3 (-0.5) 1544
Good day yesterday, ate what I logged, went to the gym and didn't give in to cravings in the evening. I've decided not no eat back my exercise cals, so I'm logging them as just 1 cal.
Is anyone doing Yoga with Adriene's Dedicate? I meant to start today with day 1 as the video isn't available until I leave the house in the morning, but then found it was too long for the time I had available, so did an old one instead.
01/04 71.9 (-0.4) 1557
I like this trend, hopefully it'll continue through this round back to below 70k. Yesterday went ok, I mostly stuck to my pre-logged food. I did have one piece of sweet I had brought back for my colleagues (it was a 130cals!), but changed my dinner from pasta to salad. I also ate the last of a few cereal bars I had from my trip, which were also high calorie. In the evening, I decided not to go shopping or to the gym or communicate with various people, but take time for myself and start with Dedicate Day 1. It was great! This morning, I did Day 2 and will also go to the gym tonight. I'll also do a healthy food shop. I remembered today that I had started eating bigger portions to curb the snacking, I'll get back to that from this evening. And I also looked at my macros and again noticed I need to up my protein, which I seem to always struggle with.
01/05 71.0kg (-0.9) wild guess: 2400??
I think this is all water weight, which i'm shedding with help of Tish's parsley/cucumber water. I can even see how my feet are no longer swollen.
Yesterday was good, stuck to my eating plan, went shopping, went to the gym. I spent the evening on the sofa and really wanted wine and all the snacks, but stuck to tea and my prelogged snacks. Today, started with yoga, which was sweatier than expected, had a filling and late breakfast and now have to do some work. I plan to either go for a walk or to the gym for a walk on the treadmill later.
01/06 71.0kg 1636
My plan didn't work out as I helped a friend, who's been having a *kitten* time, and that help came in form of going for food and drinks. I was relatively mindful, but even a few beers meant I went way over cals. I didn't walk or run, partly also due to the rain and also didn't do much of my work. Today was supposed to be my more "relaxed eating" day as i'm meeting another friend. But now i'm about to rush to the gym, squeeze in some work and then meet my friend... not the Sunday I had in mind.
01/07 71.0kg again (+-/0.0) 1468
That's not what I wanted. Good day yesterday, didn't turn out as hectic as I thought, which was nice. My legs were tired, so didn't run as much as I wanted to, but walked instead. After the gym, I weighed 70.5kg. Then went for coffee&cake with my friend and fit in a brownie without eating back my exercise cals. I have officially eaten the last snacks at home and I'm going to try not to buy any more. Fruit and tea for late night snacking now and if I manage to stick to it until Fri, there will be a reward in form of a bagel or cake from this nice shop.
Today, started with Yoga, all my food is planned and I will to go to the gym. I was gonna write 'want to go/plan to go', but decided it's not optional, so I will go. I was speaking to a friend on the phone yesterday and talking abut weight and exercise etc. And I realise that my legs and bum have gone quite wobbly and it must be due to the lack of walking here. So I know, once back in the UK, this will change again, but it's really annoying. I will increase my treadmill walking, but I can't make up walking around 5-7km every day, just through my commute and a little extra.
01/08 71.3kg (+0.3) bahhh 1491
Hm, I did not expect a gain, but I am feeling very bloated, soft and chubby. But maybe, this is the actual gain from the year end showing... Either way it needs to go!
I ran 35mins on the treadmill in one go yesterday eve, the longest treadmill run so far, and spent a total of 80mins on there. Today i'll go again and will just walk, depending on how interesting my podcast is, i'll do at least 60, if not 90 mins. I did have a late, slightly salty dinner last night, so maybe that's part of the cause for my gain. Also just saw on my app that TOM is due in a few days, so that may be the other part. Once that's done I plan to feel all nice and slender
4 more days to get back below 70.0, just have to sweat it all out and not go crazy at a lunch with colleagues on Friday. I'm quite motivated to keep up the treadmill work because I have 3 weeks until my husband arrives and I want to be below the weight I was when I left, which was 71, grrr.
01/09 71.2kg (-0.1) 1588
I stayed up way too late, reading on my phone, so getting up was a challenge and late, so no time for yoga, I will do it tonight.
My macros finally look better for yesterday! But I'm still incredibly bloated, treadmill didn't really help. Went for a 55mins walk plus 20mins elliptical. Then had a healthy dinner. I did have almonds and biltong for a snack, but well within my cals so I'm not counting those an LNS. It was late and a snack, but kinda part of my dinner.
Today, my food is planned, I will not go to the gym but just do my yoga in the eve. I also need to catch up on some work, which i want to do from my sofa.
01/10 71.2kg 1503
Oh come on, this is getting on my nerves now. So I'm definitely retaining some water, my feet look chubby. I suspect it's from my salty dinners (haloumi). I managed not to snack beyond biltong and almonds again last night. I kept thinking I want that bagel on the weekend, that I promised myself as a reward. So far, I haven't touched the popcorn I bought 2 days ago. I logged it and then deleted it again because I decided not to have it.
I managed to do two yoga days in the eve, which was nice. Today, I started with yoga, but I'm still very tired as rain woke me last night around 2.30 and I keep dreaming about work. Tonight, back on the treadmill for a run.
Two days ago I wrote I'm motivated, so I need to not let frustration overshadow that!
01/11 70.8kg (-0.4) around 2500
Ok, Ok, I will keep reminding myself to trust the process... It actually puts me at 2kg for the round, which is good. I guess those 3 weeks over Christmas did more damage than I wanted to admit.
I also realise that I set my goal to only 0.25kg/week because of how little I walk at the moment. I'm not eating back exercise cals, logging them at only 1cal, but the rate of loss is probably what it should be. I had just been hoping for more. However, the 1540cal/day often leave me hungry, maybe I need to go back to more in between snacks (healthy of course and more protein) and smaller portions for meals.
I do have a NSV this week, usually, my resolve to not snack at night lasts a day or two. but this week, I've done 4 days without. I mean I had almonds and a couple of rice waffles last night, but I never went back to get more.
Kristawatkins52 popcorn is also my go to snack, but this week, I have been really strict and asked myself "do I really want it? is it worth not seeing a drop?" I have to do this several times during the eve, while sipping tea, but 4 successful days and counting
quiltingjaine I now decided to get myself a fitbit as a reward after thinking about your advice. I had been thinking about getting one and now I decided it is a good reward and I should see it as that.
So, fitbit users, which one do you have and what do you like/dislike about them? I was thinking Alta HR or Flex2, I don't want a big smartwatch. Or I am also happy to consider alternative trackers? I've done some research online, but haven't made up my mind just yet.
MadisonMolly2017 well done! you can be very proud of yourself
01/12 70.9 (Total this round: -1.9)
Ah, I have been so strong all week and yesterday I gave in. It all started with going out for lunch very late, so I was starving. I had pasta and took 1/3 home for dinner. Then my evening plans changed and I stayed home, which I welcomed. But I had popcorn at home and found some crisps, that I though I had thrown out. Overall, I went about 1000cals over, if I remembered to log all.
Thank you for the fitbit responses! @TerriRichardson112 (also, how exciting to have that temp membership!), @Grandmajackie @jaccimc63 @abowersgirl @tlgale @quiltingjaine
Round review: I had hoped that my high 2019 start was water weight after travel and 3 weeks of not logging. But it seems like that wasn't quite the case. I did lose 1.9kg (4.1lbs), which is good, but still up 1kg compared to a month ago. I know today and tomorrow will be a challenge, friend's birthday and I need to work at home, but 2 gym visits planned. 16 more sleeps until DH joins me here See you in R659 -

Day/Weight/Comment
01/03 - 243.8...We had blizzard like weather yesterday so it was an in the house day. Managed to stay within calories, drink 125oz of water, do a walking video and shovel some snow.
01/04 - 242.4
01/05 - 242.0...walked for about 30 mins yesterday while shopping. Under calories and 75 oz ot water.
01/06 - no weigh in. Had a really bad day yesterday, and learned that my biggest food trigger is anger. I ate until I was sick and still feeling sick this morning from it.
01/07 - 241.0...stayed low calorie yesterday, under 1000 (mostly because I was still to sick to eat much) Did about 30 mins of walking and had 100 oz ot water.
01/08 - 241.6..went out for supper yesterday but kept it within calories, did water aerobics, helped my mother move a bunch of stuff and had 100 oz of water. Either up from sodium in supper or because it's a 3hr earlier weigh in than yesterday.
01/09 - 240.4
01/10 - 239.8 ..whoohoo!! Back to the 230's finally. Noticed on my trend tracker app today that if I get below 233 I will move from obese class 3 to class 2, so that is my new mini goal!
01/11 - no weigh in, didn't even think of the scale this morning. It is my sons first day of kinderstart so I'm a ball of emotions! Can't believe he is starting school, time is going way to fast! 😢 Kind of glad I missed the weigh in this morning anyway..ate at around maintenance yesterday, had only 25oz of water and no exercise. We ended up going out of town to visit family so that threw my day off and than we went out for supper with my mom when we got back. Will be a better day today and if my son doesn't stay up to late tonight I'm finally going to get back to the gym (it's been months)
01/12 - 241.4...well that makes no sense. I finally went to the gym last night, did 20mins on treadmill, 20mins on elliptical and about 20mins upper body weights work out...and was showing a 2000 calorie deficit for the day. Oh well, hopefully a better weigh in tomorrow. See you all in the next round!!6 -
FarmerCarla wrote: »@tlgale It’s great to have close family ties. I hope family members are supportive of your goals and don’t try to sabotage your healthy eating habits. I hope your son enjoyed his first day at school, too.
@Lilylady3K Even without finishing the round, you had a loss, so that’s good! See you next round!
@jaccmi63 and @back2cute Praying for employment or business opportunities for both of you! You may need to get creative. To me, 50 is young. I suspect the insurance requirements on businesses affect hiring these days, too. There’s a place for you, so don’t give up on your fitness goals or your career goals. I was still taking college classes in my 50’s. It’s never too late to learn new skills. There are still some employers who appreciate maturity and experience. Wishing both of you a great 2019!
@jaccmi63 Next time, you may want to consider putting your exercise goal above your TV issues. Walking is a great time to plan ahead and pray. TV is usually a distraction. Turkey chili sounds like a great, low-carb fit for my dinner. Relax and enjoy your evening!
@FarmerCarla Thank you! He had lots of fun.
Yes, my family are definitely my biggest supporters...when I mess up it's all my own doing.3 -

I’ve been in maintenance for several months until the holidays, content at around 146. I am now OVER the point at which I didn’t want to be again (150), so I’ll be getting back on track to lose back down to at least around 146 or so. May try to go lower in the new year, but we will see. For the immediate future, I just want to get and stay back under 150.

01/03= 152.6
01/04= 151.8 Slowly headed in the right direction. I’ve really been doing better, but the scales are hard to move. I have been moving my body an incredible amount, really, but the scales are not responding as desired…yet! (The power of YET!)

01/07= 153.0 Home to a different set of scales. Done with vacation, so hoping this doesn’t stay long.
01/08= 151.0 That’s better! Felt good to eat right again yesterday. Have low carb lunch packed, but travel tonight, so I’ll have to be careful. Won’t be at a scales tomorrow morning.
01/09= traveling, no scales
01/10= 151.4 Up just a bit from sitting in the car way too much and not eating like normal, but I’ll take only .4.
01/11= 152 Ugh, I am self-sabotaging right now. Please, Dear God, I NEED to hike tomorrow!!! Hiking was my sanity and I haven’t been on a trail in months.
01/12= 151.2. YAY, down a little bit for the round. It’s not much, but it’s a start!10 -

01/03 - 148 - I know I've done some damage this past week, but I also drank about 16 oz. of water before I hopped on the scale this morning because of a coughing fit. I can't wait until this illness is over.
01/04 - 147 - I'm half afraid to say it but I think I'm feeling a little better. Just in time for my tax season to start. I stayed under weight loss calories yesterday and drank plenty of water. I'm going to try to be extra careful this weekend so I don't bump back up, but weekends are hard.
01/05 - 146.5 - I was surprised to see a drop since we had turkey tacos last night and they are full of sodium, but I'll take it. I've eaten around maintenance today so I hope this sticks.
01/06 - 146 - I'm surprised again, but I'm happy!
01/07 - 147 - There's my weekend bounce! We're having a new treadmill delivered today, after 18 years of pretty steady use our old one is just starting to fall apart. My husband is responsible for most of the use in the past year. I'm hoping the new, quieter, and stable treadmill will get me on track to start doing more regular exercise. I've lost this 40 pounds this past year by calorie counting only. I haven't really done any exercise to speak of and I know to stay healthy I need to build up my cardio health along with counting my calories.
01/08 - 146.5 - The only exercise I got last night was trying to put together the new treadmill. I ended up you-tubing an assembly video and hopefully we can finish it up in a couple days. Meanwhile, it does feel good to be back to my normal eating habits and I'm hoping I can finish this round with a loss.
01/09 - 146.5 - After a few different attempts, we finally got the treadmill up and running last night. I'm hoping to give it a try tonight after work, but our dog wouldn't eat her breakfast this morning, so now I'm wondering if I'll be spending my evening at the vet.
01/10 - 146.5 - Our dog was fine and ready to play when I got home last night. So instead of walking, I ended up playing with the dog for a half hour. I'm really going to try to hop on that treadmill tonight.
01/11 - 146.5 - I was getting ready to get on that treadmill when I turned on the TV to watch while walking and the screen kept freezing. Instead of walking I ended up on the U-Verse support phone line for an hour and a half. Grrr. I won't have a chance to walk tonight and we're having turkey chili for supper so I'm not looking forward to my weigh in tomorrow.
01/12 - 145 - Well, that is a nice surprise! I should know better by now that I can never be sure what the scale is going to say the next day. See you next round!9 -

01/02 - 251.8 - 20# Milestone. End weight of R63. Start weight for R64.
01/03 - 253.8 - I'm sick and my BF is sick. Neither of us felt like cooking. I ate a lot of bread, oatmeal & oatbran yesterday that all tend to stick to me for a couple of days. Sick or not, I can eat! lol If I eat high protein/low carb today I should be back down tomorrow.
01/04 - 251.8
01/05 - 252.2
01/06 - 250.8 <<< new low for this attempt at weight loss. I did hit 248.8 last May (down from 274.2 in Jan/18) so I'm only 2 pounds away. I know it's not productive to think about where I could be right now had I stuck with it but I do kick myself for regaining most of it back (271.8) At the very least, it would've been better to stay and maintain the new low weight until I was ready to lose more. I'm determined to keep going this time!
01/07 - 250.4
01/08 - 250.8 - weighed earlier than yesterday
01/09 - 252.2 - I ate 1329 calories AFTER dinner last night. I get so tired of myself.
01/10 - 251.8
01/11 - 253.0 - I did very well yesterday until after dinner. I always seem to take a long time to get out of the 250s. This happened to me last year as well. Not sure why I fight it.
01/12 - 251.6 - I didn't reach my goal of getting in to the 240s this round but I'll for sure do it next round. I didn't give in to LNS last night which was a win. Thank you @quiltingjaine for the peptalk yesterday - I kept it in mind after dinner and it helped!

I’m 42 and currently ~225. I’d like to lose 75lbs, maybe more. I tend to get overwhelmed when I think about how much I need to lose and then I give up as soon as the going gets tough. I struggle with consistency.
Day/Weight/Comment
01/03 - 223.4- I did a 30-min cardio video and stayed within my calories for the day.
01/04 - 222.2- awesome strength workout and decent eating day. 64oz water (most in a long while). No mindless eating (big for me). Stayed within my calories (eating some exercise calories)
01/05 - 222- I am so proud of myself. Today is my son’s birthday and last night we had his family dinner celebration. I exercised in the morning and ate super light all day to prepare for the big meal. I ate 1500 calories for dinner! 😱 But I didn’t eat all day and still eat that big of a meal, which is huge for me. I managed to stay under 1800 calories for the day (1580 is my goal). Also I exercised 5 days in a row this week.
01/06 - 221.6-yesterday was my son’s birthday and my friend and I took a small group to play Airsoft. The boys play a round then come back for a rest. So, my friend and I walked while they were out. It helped me get over 13,000 steps and my 6th consecutive day of exercise. Despite having chorizo for breakfast, just snacking for lunch, and pizza for dinner, I stayed under my calories for the day. I’m a teacher and today is the last day of break. Tomorrow is when the real challenge begins.
01/07 - 221.6- I ate okay all day but didn’t move much and didn’t drink all of my water. Still, no gain and I’m down 3.4lbs in a week so I’ll take it!
01/08 -221.4- I went back to work Monday after 2 weeks off. We had professional development which means lunch out. I am thrilled I made a good decision there. I did a 20-minute HIIT workout after my dinner settled, so I can check off my Monday workout commitment! More water tomorrow (only 5 cups today).
01/09- 222.0- My first increase. Not going to worry about it because I know I’m on track. I did my 3rd strength training exercise (since getting back on track) and it felt amazing. It makes me wonder why I ever stopped in the first place. My only struggle right now is that my fat consumption is a little high each day. I’m mostly worried about tracking, exercise, and staying within my calorie range so I’ll worry about that later.
01/10- 221.6- I stayed within my calorie allowance but decided not to exercise (it was late, I was sore and felt I would benefit more from rest). I got a great night sleep.
01/11- 221.8- I’m not going to lie. This teeny yo yo hurts because I’m working so hard. But this is not a sprint. I know it will go down if I keep at it!
01/12- 221.6- this makes for a 1.8lb loss over this challenge and I’ll take it! Im proud of myself for sticking to a workout plan despite difficulties that I previously would have allowed to deter me. I tracked daily throughout the challenge. I’m building healthy habits again. Finally.
