My 25th round!
OSW: 186 (March 2018)
UGW: 144-146
Pre challenge weight loss: -12 lbs.
Challenge weight loss R40 – R63: -26.5 lbs
Although I’m up a few pounds from last round, I’m still down about 40 lbs. from a year ago. It feels amazing to be starting the new year with a healthy bmi. My goal this round is to start moving back down to the mid 140’s.

Day/Weight/Comment
01/03 - 148 - I know I've done some damage this past week, but I also drank about 16 oz. of water before I hopped on the scale this morning because of a coughing fit. I can't wait until this illness is over.
01/04 - 147 - I'm half afraid to say it but I think I'm feeling a little better. Just in time for my tax season to start. I stayed under weight loss calories yesterday and drank plenty of water. I'm going to try to be extra careful this weekend so I don't bump back up, but weekends are hard.
01/05 - 146.5 - I was surprised to see a drop since we had turkey tacos last night and they are full of sodium, but I'll take it. I've eaten around maintenance today so I hope this sticks.
01/06 - 146 - I'm surprised again, but I'm happy!
01/07 - 147 - There's my weekend bounce! We're having a new treadmill delivered today, after 18 years of pretty steady use our old one is just starting to fall apart. My husband is responsible for most of the use in the past year. I'm hoping the new, quieter, and stable treadmill will get me on track to start doing more regular exercise. I've lost this 40 pounds this past year by calorie counting only. I haven't really done any exercise to speak of and I know to stay healthy I need to build up my cardio health along with counting my calories.
01/08 - 146.5 - The only exercise I got last night was trying to put together the new treadmill. I ended up you-tubing an assembly video and hopefully we can finish it up in a couple days. Meanwhile, it does feel good to be back to my normal eating habits and I'm hoping I can finish this round with a loss.
01/09 - 146.5 - After a few different attempts, we finally got the treadmill up and running last night. I'm hoping to give it a try tonight after work, but our dog wouldn't eat her breakfast this morning, so now I'm wondering if I'll be spending my evening at the vet.
01/10 - 146.5 - Our dog was fine and ready to play when I got home last night. So instead of walking, I ended up playing with the dog for a half hour. I'm really going to try to hop on that treadmill tonight.
01/11 - 146.5 - I was getting ready to get on that treadmill when I turned on the TV to watch while walking and the screen kept freezing. Instead of walking I ended up on the U-Verse support phone line for an hour and a half. Grrr. I won't have a chance to walk tonight and we're having turkey chili for supper so I'm not looking forward to my weigh in tomorrow.
01/12
@fraukazi - I use the Fitbit Zip. I specifically bought it because I didn't want to wear something on my wrist. It only counts steps, but I like the app and it syncs well with MFP. I throw it in my pocket or attach it to my bra if I don't have pockets that day.11 -

Round 63 - SW=209.5, EW =205.7
Diagnosed with Type II Diabetes - November 10, 2016 A1C = 8.5%, September 21, 2018 A1C = 6.1%
Current Weight - 205.7
First Challenge (Round 63) Weight - 209.5
Highest Weight - 227.8, May 2016
Goal Weight - 199
Ultimate Goal Weight - 194
Goals -
* Under 1900 cals each day
* No blood glucose tests above 180
* Run 5 days above 2.5 miles
1/3 - 205.7, Happy that I did not eat a lot, but did not track and overall choices not great. Need to get on the darn treadmill and make sure testing blood glucose consistently. Focusing on tomorrow's goals.
1/4 - 204.2, Fairly happy. Relatively good eating and a blood glucose of 96 right before bed which was fantastic. A key to success in managing my type II is staying off the carbs after 3PM. Still need to get on the treadmill and track food intake.
1/5 - 202.8, Pretty good day. Ate a light and healthy breakfast and lunch. Went out for dinner and ate so-so, but did not over eat. Big win was 2.7 miles on the treadmill in 30 minutes. Going to try to track food tomorrow. Want to start posting calories and steps for more accountability.
1/6 - 202.8 (1,095 calories in and 11,241 steps). Very good day. First time I ever tracked every single item I ate. Took my son to the newly opened Top Golf. I did not realize it was a bar food place. Only drank unsweetened iced tea. Did not do a lot of walking all day, but hit the treadmill at 8PM. Got in a great 2.7 miles/30 minute run. Interested to see what the scale says tomorrow morning.
1/7 - 200.8 (1,180 calories in and 12,381 steps). Relatively happy today. Second day in a row tracking everything I ate. One bad choice that shot blood glucose up to 239, but one bad choice is better than many. Ran on treadmill for 30 minutes for 2.8 miles. Hoping the scale goes under 200 tomorrow.
1/8 - 199.7 (2,175 calories in and 9,505 steps) - WOW!!! Have not seen this number in 20 years. Extremely happy. Need to make this sustainable and go for another 6.
An odd day. The high of a great weigh-in followed by shaky eating after lunch and binge eating at night. The low calories the prior two days did not help. Need to find a place in-between. Happy that I tracked every single item I ate which I would have quit doing in the past. Not a horrible binge, but still a binge. Will show on the scale tomorrow and just need to bounce back. Will do!
1/9 - 201.6 (1,177 calories in and 14,297 steps) - Very good day. Happy that I have now tracked everything that I ate for 4 days in a row. Too low on my calories and need to do better with that, but nervous about the dinner/night binge so I have been staying away from a big dinner. Did a 35 minute treadmill run. Loving this forum to stay accountable and encouraging each other.
1/10 - 201.1 - It was some day. I will just leave it at that. The only positive was weighing in at the 201.1 for my yearly physical which was the lowest I have been at my doctor. Going to bounce back tomorrow and finish this round strong!!!

Day/Weight/Comment
01/03 181.8 Going in the wrong direction altogether and almost 5 pounds up from two weeks ago. Not a happy camper at all!!! Ate my full day’s quota of calories by 1 p.m. yesterday. On the upside, went for an early morning walk. It’s been a very long time since I’ve done any exercise at all. Planning another walk at 6:30 this morning.
01/04 180.6 Did 40 minute walk on the treadmill at 7 a.m. I find that I am so unfit that even just walking is tough. Anyway, I shall continue as far as I can and try to remain focused on my exercise commitments this month. Eating is still a train wreck. Toast and jam and banana with diet coke for breakfast. At least I had a bottle of water before assaulting my system with garbage.
01/05 180.2 Very slow descent!!!
01/06 178.8 YAY!!! Exercise is finally starting to show up on the scale. Can’t attribute it to eating because that has been terrible.
01/07 179.2 O.K. I’m gonna roll with it. I’m quite disappointed today at my body’s performance related to exercise. Four days into walking and my knee is acting up and I have to ease up on the cardio. I’ve taped my knee and will give it a rest from walking, but thinking I’ll try some easy yoga or weights today instead. I’m really determined to get my eating in check this week. It will only happen with stringent tracking, so that’s what I’m going to do. My goal is 3 lbs lost for this round. I know that’s not recommended by I need to get this moving. I’ve been stuck at this high weigh for too long.
01/08 180
01/09 179.8
01/10 180.2
01/11 181.2 My body seems to have misinterpreted my goal of losing 3 pound and instead wants to gain 3 pounds. In fairness, I have been emotional eating all week. It’s been a rough one. Serious financial woes and long-term unemployment can send one on an endless march to the fridge. It’s so bloody ridiculous. I have fantastic experience, but apparently all of your life’s work and your intelligence evaporates once you turn 50. Ugh. Anyway, I see another round in the distance. Another round, another chance to succeed! Going to my doc today to have my knee looked at. Haven't been able to exercise all week due to knee pain. Hope to get this resolved quickly.

01/03 - 182.0 Happy with this.
01/04 - 181.9 I weighed myself twice this morning and got two different numbers, so this is the average. Crossing my fingers!
01/05 - 183.2 Well that's not very nice! I was over my calories yesterday but I'm guessing this has more to do with water retention or something. Oh well, off to Pilates!
01/06 - 183.0
01/07 - 182.6
01/08 - 185.4 I didn't even want to post this, but I'm pretty sure it must just be water retention since I ate out last night. That's what I'm telling myself....
01/09 - 184.4 UGH......

Round 64 SW: 217.2
1/7—217.2—Hello friends and friends-I-haven't-met-yet! I hope everyone had some break time. I had some vacation days, some lounging about days, and some recharging my batteries for 2019 days. I'm starting this round at almost the same as my start weight for round 62, which pleases me.
1/8—219—Digestive whammy. I forgot to mention yesterday that I'm continuing on my quest to be able to do 100 pushups by the end of 2019. When I started, I could do 4. Now I can do 20! The program I'm using requires me to hit certain goals before I can move on to the next level, and I need to get to 31 before I can move on. In the meantime, I'm repeating week 4 a few million times.
1/9—221—Yikes! Okay, I know I ate some gluten free puff pastry treats last night, but this amount of water retention is insane. There is obviously pufferfish in my family tree.
1/10—220—Frankly, I think the loss is because I weighed in later than yesterday. But hopefully I can figure out what's going on digestively. I know that it isn't gluten, since I have cooked all of my meals for the last week with no chance of cross contamination. But something is a bit wonky!
1/11—220.2—A little bump up because this weigh-in is 2 hours earlier than yesterday. That's not a big deal, but obviously I'm still holding onto some water. My ring is a little tight and my tummy a little upset. Good times! On the plus side, I finished week 4 of my push up program (again) last night, so on Saturday I again get to try what's called an exhaustion test where I just do as many push ups as I can and try to get to 31 so I can move on. I'm not super confident, but I think (and hope!) that I'll improve on last week's mark of 20. Can I do 25? That would be AMAZING.11 -

The whole point of weighing in daily is to educate oneself about their bodies since all of us are different. What makes one person gain or lose is different for everyone -- so daily weigh ins help us to learn our bodies.
After years of weighing daily, I know what makes me gain and lose. I know how many calories or points make me lose. I know what kind of foods make me gain or lose etc. I always say no matter what kind of scale you use, the scale does not lie. It is a true friend. There is research out that says those who waeigh in daily keep their lost weight off. Keep up the good work! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
I'm a definite believer in daily weighing for myself. Data data data!8 -

Hope all goes well with the doc, but you can do this friend!! Have you tried chair exercises to help with your knees? They help me tremendously. But I most wanted to say how I feel your pain and can totally relate as I'm 52 and lost my mom and my job within weeks of each other. Comfort ate my way through most of the summer and fall and only snapped out of it when I realized just how much weight I'd regained. Still unemployed and facing similar challenges not only because of age, but like so many others, technology is rapidly changing my industry. This awareness is making me look at life and my future very differently now. But I believe we'll be led to a brighter chapter soon. All we can do is keep moving towards it. Hugs, peace and blessings ~ 🙏

Back on track, finally, with food & exercise. I'm interested to see how long it takes to re-lose what I gained the past 40 days.
01/04 - 138.2 - 2032
Average coming down, despite a piece of cranberry cobbler last night. Had to use those cranberries! On the plus side, I had my first of three sessions with a personal trainer yesterday and have a plan for the next month until I see her again, and I've been walking/biking every day and doing weights 3 times/week. We're supposed to get up to 48 this afternoon, hopefully with no rain, so I'm hoping to walk outdoors.
01/05 - 139 - 1970
Ah, the mysteries of calories, exercise, averages, and weight. I walked and hour+ yesterday, happily outdoors as it was 58F! No idea why I bounced back up. I did bake some whole wheat applesauce carrot honey muffins last night, and I ate 1, but that was only 130. I have been slacking on veggies, so that may be part of it. Onward! Have a great weekend, all!
01/06 - 139.2 - 1931
We had another beautiful day yesterday and I walked along the river for an hour. Temps are headed down, though, so I'll be back indoors - I'm a cold-weather weenie. This week I'm adding a stretch & flex and a yoga class to my routine.
01/07 - 137.6 - 1907
Finally trending down a little. Today's the day I restart eating against inflammation. I'm aiming for lots of fish and veggies, and am cutting dairy, gluten, and added sugar for now. We shall see. Also, recommended reading -- Food Sanity by Dr. David Friedman. He looks at various eating styles -- paleo, keto, and more - and the research that supports or contradicts them. Useful info!
01/08 - 137.2 - 1811
Yesterday I recommended (based on reading the intro) the book Food Sanity by Dr. David Friedman. I take it back. While there is some good info, Dr. Friedman's "science" is very shaky (my background is in anthropology, and his chapter on paleo and its basis in our species' history is underwhelming, to say the least) and many of his arguments read like junior high writing. I'm disappointed - I like the premise, but once I read material I know is incorrect I just can't trust the author re. the things I don't know. There's my review for what it's worth (and the book has many good ones online). Back to better sources for me!

I woke up at 4 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, so I got up at 4:30 and was at the Y at 5:10. I walked 10 min to warm up and then did half an hour of weight training, and now I'm snuggled up at Panera Bread with a hot cup of vanilla spice tea, planning to write until DH shows up for breakfast. I'd love get back in the habit of early starts (although I like it better in the summer when the sun comes up earlier!). ! I have yoga this afternoon, so I'll walk another 50 minutes before class.
01/10 - 137.6 - 1665
I skipped yoga yesterday - the roads were really icy so I did some stretching at home. Better today, so I'll hit the Y this afternoon. I can't believe we're 10 days into January already!
01/11 - 138.4 - 1642
I had a bit of a pig out last night. I was in a lot of pain yesterday and depressed about it, and I ate a piece of applesauce oatmeal bread, chocolate, and a bunch of nuts. I also skipped exercise, which I probably shouldn't do. Feeling better today, so onward....

name is Jen. I’ve been sitting at the low 200s for a while now trying everything to get my weight to budge. A great MFP friend suggested this group and so far it’s helping! The weight is still moving at a snails pace but at least it’s moving!

1/2 - 206.4
1/3 - did not weigh myself
1/4 - 208.4. I’m a little surprised I jumped that much. I worked out two days ago and normally I see a gain after that but I thought it would be gone by now. Hopefully it will be by tomorrow
1/5 - 208.4. Can’t wait for the scale to start moving down again. Woke up today and did a power walk workout on my treadmill. Hopefully I can keep things in check this weekend.
1/6 - 208.4. I guess this is okay given it’s the weekend and I normally gain over the weekend. Will plan and drink lots of water today.
1/7 - 208.2. Very slow progress but what is positive about this number is that for the first time in almost forever I had a loss over the weekend. I’m going to celebrate that and use it to motivate me. Plan to stay on track today, walk at lunch and try to get a treadmill workout in tonight.
1/8 - 206.4. That’s the whoosh I’ve been hoping would happen (again). Have my day all mapped out. Won’t get a lot of steps in but trying for 1000 more than yesterday. Making up for it by drinking more water.
1/9 - 206.2
1/10 - 206.8. not worried. I worked out last night. I always gain after a workout. Going to drink a lot of water today and walk at lunch.
1/11 - 206.2. I’m now down from the start of this round but still not at my lowest weight. I have lunch and dinner plans to eat out. Going to keep it really clean so I don’t mess with this number!11 -

01/03 - 182.9 Whoosh! I am going to pretend that ugly 185 number didn't happen yesterday because this is where I expected to be - just took another day. The holidays are over and I am down - only .03 pounds but it's down. As long as the weather holds out I'll go for a walk this afternoon. I should be able to get in 3 miles before it's too dark. If I didn't have this stinky job I could really do more trail walking. Go home, get my dog and head to Kill Creek Trail for a day of romping in the chilly sunshine. Instead I'll stay here in my office and work
01/04 - 183.2 And back up we go. This roller coaster ride is making me queasy! I got in 5 miles yesterday - the fastest I have ever walked that far. I don't care if I'm up a little bit, I'm healthier than I was 24 hours ago. I'm going to go at least 3 tonight maybe 4 who knows.
01/05 - 183.0 The roller coaster goes down. I did eat back all of my calories yesterday, which I never do so I'm glad to see a small reduction today. I got to leave work a little early and talk a nice sunny winter 3 mile walk. Finally taking Christmas down today - that will burn some calories Then a walk this afternoon and then WHO KNOWS!
01/06 - 182.7 I did get in 3 miles yesterday. Took down the tree and spent quality time with family. That's as good as a Saturday gets. Today taking the Christmas stuff I went thru to goodwill and another walk I think. I'm traveling for work this week and need to exercise while I can. I won't be able to on Tuesday or Wednesday so walk today, gym tomorrow, two days off then back on the trail on Thursday.
01/07 - 183.0 After a one day dip the roller coaster goes up a bit. Probably the sodium from yesterday's lunch. I was under on calories and walked 4 miles. I'm not sure what else I can do but stick to the plan and know it works. I have five days left and I'm afraid I'll be right where I started. I have a four hour drive this afternoon then I'll stop at a gym close to my hotel for weights. Of course my food will be difficult this trip because I will have limited options for food tomorrow and Wednesday. I'm going for training where they bring in sandwiches, then a company dinner, then more sandwiches the next day. I hate these trainings where we don't get to go to lunch but have to eat whatever is brought in. I'm picky and do not like cold sandwiches. First world problems I know but when you're watching what you eat it's impossible to avoid sodium - it will be sliced turkey, beef, chicken, or ham. ALL salt bombs. Overly mayonnaise potato salad and cookies for dessert. The only thing I like is the cookie. They feel they're being healthy by offering turkey on wheat, and oatmeal raisin cookies. Maybe this time will be different. Maybe...
01/08 - no scale I was good calorie wise yesterday, walked 3 miles then a short weight work out. Today’s lunch was exactly what I expected but with a salad. I ended up ok but dinner is at the Budweiser Brew house. Chances of a nutritious meal less than 50%
01/09 - no scale Didn’t technically exercise yesterday but still got in 10k steps. Dinner was terrible. I had a few raw veggies and 1 chicken wing. Came back to the hotel for a salad. Oh well. Driving home today.
01/10 - 181.3 I WOOHOO! Oh happy day. I don't want to jinx myself but I think that's a real number. Trust the process. When it seems like the numbers aren't going your way trust the process and stick to the plan. Calories within goal and exercise. I should walk tonight but I forgot my shoes I wanted to share an NSV from training. The event was held at an old hotel (very cool place btw) but there were steps everywhere. You had to go up two flights to get from the dinning room back to the area where the sessions were. Everyone goes at once, so you can't really go around and find an elevator. The NSV for me was I was able to do two flights without a problem! We went to an Escape room... two flights of stairs to get to the room, went to the Budweiser place our room was up two flights of stairs. I did all of those without stopping half way and panting. I felt, dare I say normal?
01/11 - 181.0 I got a three mile walk in after work yesterday. I was going to take the day off but it's supposed to be raining and snowing the next two days. It was my fastest 3 miles ever... 49:13. I had given myself a goal in December to consistently walk under 17 minute miles and didn't really make it. I'm not always that fast but when I want to (and it's cold) I can do it. My average for yesterday was 16:20. I know that's not fast but I'm only competing with myself and I am kicking my *kitten*

1/03 - 175.8 - Still a bit of fluid weight. 174.4 my R62 start weight flashed briefly before settling on this. I can wait.?
1/04 -177.6 - Felt miserable all day yesterday. This weird cold/allergy like illness again. Exercised, ate dinner and went to bed later than usual.
1/05 - 177.2 - Started the day feeling lousy and not hungry and on the right side of carbs and calories. Took some cold medicine and ended the day +400 on the wrong side of carbs and calories.
1/06 - 178.2 - My goodness, no surprise though. I opened one of the last bags of those delicious porcini rosemary kettle chips. Ate the heck out of them just before going to bed. I'm feeling much better this morning, so the comfort eating should cease. Although, it's a potentially high carb day, since I'm going to visit my littles.
1/07 - 177.2 - Under 50g net carbs, so very much better than Friday and Saturda y. Reigning it in today.
1/08 - 174.4 - 24g carbs, 19g net carbs. Carbs were: zucchini, salad, 1/4 grapefruit, 3/4 ounce of cashews after dinner drove up the carb count by 6g
1/09 - 174.8 - Fluid retention, not enough sleep. 19g carbs, 12g net carbs. Spinach, salad, cauliflower.
1/10 - 17g carbs, 15g net carbs.
1/11 - 172.8 - 15g carbs, 12g net carbs. Carbs were: Salad, cashews, spinach.

Day/Weight/Commen
01/03 143.8 the woooosh train has arrived, mind you I had a ton of energy yesterday (which are the days I absolutley love😍😍) so ended up jogging over 3 miles, walking over 30,000 steps and pretty much worked out right up until bed. I drank 1.6 liters of water and was way under calories...but even if I had worked for this drop, I am still shocked it happened over night. Today although, has so far not been as good. Because of yestedays workout craze, I was sore as heck! My steps are over 10,000 but otherwise I haven't worked out..yet. Once I am finished posting, I am planning at least a 1.5 mile jog (indoor because of how cold and late it is) and hopefully another routine right after..maybe strength...maybe an additional cardio.. maybe both. I will see how I feel when I am done. 1 liter of water and hoping my little workout will bring me to a maintenance calories wise because so far, I am way over lol. We will see
01/04 144.8 a small bump but i deserved it. LNS got to me 😥 16,005 steps
01/05 143.6 and back down, 22, 748 steps and worked out like a mad women.
01/06 144.6 TOM arrived last night so I am hoping this is just a bump of bloat, which I am definitley feeling. I am back....again lol. I planned to post every night but I have recently joined a lot of MFP groups that require end of the day posting so I think I will just do what I always did to begin with, post in the morning about the previous day. So the scale is moving slowly and I expected this after the holidays, I am hoping for a mini whoosh once this bloat dies down though. Today I am planning on hopefully getting to the grocery store. For meals it's been pretty good, sticking to healthier options but snack wise has not. Still have a crazy amount of treats floating about and every time I think my family has made a dent, I find another box or tin of something and the worst part is I am running out of veggies and fruits to eat so I don't go running to the cookies. Exercise this past week has been great but my eating could be a lot better
01/07 145 TOM bloat still here
01/08 144.4 slightly dissapoined. I am still slightly bloated but I worked out like mad, walked a little over 31,000, drank 1.75 liters of water and ate under cals. I am hoping tomorrow will be better 😧😧 hoping for a nice whoosh to end the round strong. Right now my goal is to get back to pre-holiday weight of 142 but I am hoping I can push out a little more. I didn't think it would be this difficult to take it off, especially because I got right back on track. We will see what the next four days offer. Volleyball tonight but I messed up by doing upper body strength workouts yesterday and today my arms are hurting, so much...I really hope it doesn't effect my performance
01/09 143.8 that is fine!! Slow and steady eh? I'm just going to have to kick my own *kitten* .
Anyway yesterday was pretty good, food wise. My brother brought me a Cobb salad wrap, which sounds healthy but ended up being closer to 800 cal...yikes!! Thank gosh I exercised a lot yesterday or else I actually would have been in trouble. Had volleyball last night for the first time since before holidays started and we kicked butt. Two matches, six games and we won them all!! Kind of shocked because the first team we faced is the hardest one in the league and if they didnt keep defaulting (not showing up, not having enough players etc.etc and a total of 6 times!!) they would most definitley be in first. We have been standing strong in first place all season but they still managed to climb to second....which I am still trying to wrap my head around because that just seems ridiculious to me. Anyways 26,000+ steps, 1.5 liters of water and under cals.
1/10 142.4 YES!! BACK TO MY PRE HOLIDAY WEIGHT!! It only took me 9 days *note the sarcasm* but I am here before the round ends so I couldn't be happier. Hopefully I can push out a little more and my weight doesn't stop here! I can't wait to see those 30s and as much as I am working for it, i have to remind myself to be patient and take it one step at a time. Nothing happens over night. Yesterday I ate amazingly, work out was fantastic but only drank 1 liter of water..😧😧 24, 661 steps.
1/11 142.4 my body likes this number lol, i know it is going to be so difficult dropping but I WILL perserver. Hopefully I can drop even a .2 tomorrow to at least enter a new low since joining the group but we will see. I am just going to have to work for it. On the bright side, I hit my goal for the round, so I am greatful and happy about that. Ate under calories, walked +13,000 steps and drank over 1 liter of water. Here is to ending the round strong12 -
I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. I have been participating in this challenge since Round 40, thanks @GrandmaJackie. My average loss/gain since Round 40 to 63 is a 0.5lb loss each round. This was better than I expected!

01/03 - 181.2 - I don’t know why it’s up today. Yesterday was a pretty healthy eating day really and I exercised.
01/04 182.0 - has another good day yesterday except for sodium. I know a lot of this is water weight as my fingers are swollen. I’ll drink more water today.

01/09 - 181.4 - I am so disappointed with myself for this round. I am finding it hard not grazing since I am home and not working. I was going out daily, but yesterday our car died on me while I was out and that’s not helping financially at all.
01/10 - 182.0
01/11- 179.6 - Well this would be nice to see again tomorrow.
01/1215 -
I’m back! Starting something I’ve never done before- intermittent fasting 16/8. I’m hopeful that this can be a lifestyle change which will help me to stop late night eating and it will also help with crazy mornings with the family since I won’t need to eat until 11am and of course lose weight in the process. I don’t want to drastically change the type of food I eat right now (I generally eat on the healthier side, but no interest in food prepping and cooking different meals for me and the family) but will be cutting down on sugar for sure.

Day/Weight/Comment
01/03 - 171.0 - Up a little from the past few days, but going down from holiday weight gain.
01/04 - 169.6 - Eating at calorie goal and working out! I feel really good. Almost back to my pre-holiday weight.
01/05 - 169.4 - Same as yesterday....eating at calories and exercising every day and best of all, feeling fantastic!
01/06 - 169.0 - Yesterday was packed full of fitness! Roller skated for 2 hours, hiked 4.5 miles and did a five minute plank! Under calorie goal, but didn't make the best food choices.
01/07 - 168.8 - Eating a little below calorie goal and working out every day. Yesterday I walked my dog, planked, and did day three of a twenty five day plank challenge.
01/08 - 168.2 This challenge has been a huge motivator for me to eat healthy and exercise! I've been on track since the new year and am super stoked with the results. Only .2 pounds from my end of 10 day goal!
01/09 - 170.0 - Ran a 5k run after work yesterday, felt strong, especially after struggling all last year with injuries. I feel like I'm finally healed and can run again. Went out to dinner for Mexican food last night and brought home half my dinner as leftovers. I figured I'd be heavier this AM despite being a little under my calorie goal.
01/10 - 170.0 Hoping this goes down tomorrow, eating at or under calories and exercising. Fingers crossed!
01/11- 167.8!!! I met my end of round goal with an extra .2 loss! Walked 3 miles yesterday, ate a little under calories, and completed day 7 of my squat challenge. 👍

01/03: 184.6 - down .2 - I’ll take it!
01/04: 184.0 - took my 13 y/o downtown and went out to lunch. I was worried because I had some French fries but we walked about 4-5 miles downtown and enjoyed the day. Happy for the loss!
01/05: DNW - totally forgot until after lunch!
01/06: 185.4 - UGH - so frustrated with myself! Too much wine and not enough movement. I go back to work tomorrow so that structure will definitely help!
01/07: 184.6 - ok - trending down and back to work!
01/08: 184.8 - not sure what happened. Under calories and no wine last night but we didn't eat dinner until almost 9 and weighed at 5:30 a.m. - maybe that's it.
01/09: 183.4 - closer closer!
01/10: 183.8 - whatever!
01/11: 183.6 - well looks like I won’t make my goal this round - but it was quite ambitious. Slept in this morning but have my gym bag with me to stop by on the way home from work.

Ok yall I'm just gonna jump in here and ride the NY inspiration! I have been weighing at home this past week but I need more accountability and to get back in the habit. It's not pretty but it's reality and I gotta reign in this runaway train! I know the BF % (Tanita scale) is not that accurate, but it helps me judge how dehydrated I am and helps me to understand the overall picture so I just write it down.
Day/Weight/Comment
01/03 187.8 BF 41.7%
01/04 186.8 BF 41.8%
01/05 187.0 BF 41.8%
01/06 187.8 BF 42.0%
01/07 189.2 BF 41.7% not happy about this number rearing its ugly head. I think theres some hormonal action happening so the plan for today is to drink all the water and stick to my eating plan.
01/08 187.8 BF 41.7% Mostly stuck to my plan except I had a glass of wine close to bedtime. I guess tomorrow will be more telling as to what's going on. Getting ready to go write my plan for today!
01/09 187.0 BF 41.7% no sugar today. had an aperol spritz (mini cocktail) after supper though.
01/10 187.0 BF 42.4% no sugar today, AND no alcohol. drank all my water and went to dance tonight. lifted this AM though and that always stalls the scale so I have no guess as to what the scale will say tomorrow, I would really like to see a downward trend!
01/11 185.7 BF 42.7% Ok this is good progress! I think drinking my water is helping. I have been eating healthy and not snacking but I need to get more consistent with measuring so I can keep on rolling. One more day left of this challenge, I think overall has been very successful

@koljandertjie68, it's never too late to join a round, but welcome whenever you decide to jump in.2 -

I have a Fitbit ionic, it's waterproof as well and I love it because I can't also store music on it!1 -

@fraukazi I hope I didn’t sound preachy. I agree with you. You are in a temporary location, enjoy the available options, within reason. On the other hand, I’m glad to see you reconsidered a non-food option!3
