Round 64 - my 4th round
Round 61 11st 12lb (-1 lb)
Round 62 11st 11.6lb (-0.5lb
Round 63 11st 11.8lb (+0.2lb)
Day/Weight/Comment
01/03 11st 10.4lb Was not feeling too well yesterday so didn't quite manage to eat all of my calories which explains the loss. Better today but I do have a sore throat.
01/04 11st 11lb Slightly up. I did have to estimate my breakfast out yesterday but it couldn't have been much more than I put and I had a lot of exercise calories that I didn't eat which wouldn't explain the difference. But I'm not too worried
01/05 11st 10.2lb Happy with this although it only takes me down 0.2lb from starting weight of round. Still not feeling well. I'm beginning to think I would have been better staying at home for Christmas instead of picking up bugs from family!
01/06 11st 8.8lb Not surprised with this as I didn't eat all of my calories yesterday. That's due to not feeling well still. I'll have to be careful when I'm feeling better and more active that I keep to my calorie limit as I don't want to under eat anymore than over eat.
01/07 11st 8.0lb Late weigh in this morning. At the moment I'd rather feel better than lose this weight by not being able to eat properly. I have a committee meeting this evening so I need to give myself a little push today and stop lounging around
01/08 11st 7.8lb. Weight loss has slowed slightly which is good. I was worried it was going too fast this month. Yesterday I cooked chips for the first time and not only managed to calorie count them but managed to keep within my fat and calorie level for the day. I am still eating lower than my planned calorie level but I hope by going out today and getting some exercise my appetite will increase.
01/09 11st 8.0lb Late weigh in. Slight increase which I'm not surprised at, except I did get out and walked for the first time in 3 days! I didn't eat any of my exercise calories but I also didn't eat all my allowed calories either. This I think shows me that I will gain on 1200 calories, and I'm only losing when I don't eat all of them. So the solution really is that I do have to more exercise if I want to lose on 1200 calories. Everything weighed properly.
01/10 11st 8.2lb Slight gain. I ate 1249 calories yesterday out of an allowed 1380 (including exercise calories) I only ever lose weight when I eat under 1200 calories or I when I get a lot of exercise calories and only eat a few of them. I went over because I had a second truffle - but I was feeling cold yesterday in the house and I think that led to me eating over my fat allowance. I usually manage to stay within my macros
01/11 11st 9lb No idea how I've put a pound on. I recorded under my calories yesterday and ate none of my exercise calories. I really want to lose that pound today for the end of the round. Thank goodness I didn't eat the crisps I was pining for!
01/12 11st 8lb I did it! I lost the pound I put on yesterday! And I ate the crisps, a small bar of chocolate and a chocolate biscuit. But all within my calorie limit - in fact I was under it.
Total loss this round is 3.8lb - really happy with that11 -
01/12 - 241.4...well that makes no sense. I finally went to the gym last night, did 20mins on treadmill, 20mins on elliptical and about 20mins upper body weights work out...and was showing a 2000 calorie deficit for the day. Oh well, hopefully a better weigh in tomorrow. See you all in the next round!!
My guess is that it's just your muscles hanging on to water weight while they repair themselves. It doesn't happen for me if I "just" walk but if I hit the weights it for sure shows up on the scale.
I think you're doing very well!9 -

Round 64 - Round 1.5 for me
Round 63 - SW=209.5, EW =205.7
Diagnosed with Type II Diabetes - November 10, 2016 A1C = 8.5%, September 21, 2018 A1C = 6.1%
Current Weight - 205.7
First Challenge (Round 63) Weight - 209.5
Highest Weight - 227.8, May 2016
Goal Weight - 199
Ultimate Goal Weight - 194
Goals -
* Under 1900 cals each day
* No blood glucose tests above 180
* Run 5 days above 2.5 miles
1/3 - 205.7, Happy that I did not eat a lot, but did not track and overall choices not great. Need to get on the darn treadmill and make sure testing blood glucose consistently. Focusing on tomorrow's goals.
1/4 - 204.2, Fairly happy. Relatively good eating and a blood glucose of 96 right before bed which was fantastic. A key to success in managing my type II is staying off the carbs after 3PM. Still need to get on the treadmill and track food intake.
1/5 - 202.8, Pretty good day. Ate a light and healthy breakfast and lunch. Went out for dinner and ate so-so, but did not over eat. Big win was 2.7 miles on the treadmill in 30 minutes. Going to try to track food tomorrow. Want to start posting calories and steps for more accountability.
1/6 - 202.8 (1,095 calories in and 11,241 steps). Very good day. First time I ever tracked every single item I ate. Took my son to the newly opened Top Golf. I did not realize it was a bar food place. Only drank unsweetened iced tea. Did not do a lot of walking all day, but hit the treadmill at 8PM. Got in a great 2.7 miles/30 minute run. Interested to see what the scale says tomorrow morning.
1/7 - 200.8 (1,180 calories in and 12,381 steps). Relatively happy today. Second day in a row tracking everything I ate. One bad choice that shot blood glucose up to 239, but one bad choice is better than many. Ran on treadmill for 30 minutes for 2.8 miles. Hoping the scale goes under 200 tomorrow.
1/8 - 199.7 (2,175 calories in and 9,505 steps) - WOW!!! Have not seen this number in 20 years. Extremely happy. Need to make this sustainable and go for another 6.
An odd day. The high of a great weigh-in followed by shaky eating after lunch and binge eating at night. The low calories the prior two days did not help. Need to find a place in-between. Happy that I tracked every single item I ate which I would have quit doing in the past. Not a horrible binge, but still a binge. Will show on the scale tomorrow and just need to bounce back. Will do!
1/9 - 201.6 (1,177 calories in and 14,297 steps) - Very good day. Happy that I have now tracked everything that I ate for 4 days in a row. Too low on my calories and need to do better with that, but nervous about the dinner/night binge so I have been staying away from a big dinner. Did a 35 minute treadmill run. Loving this forum to stay accountable and encouraging each other.
1/10 - 201.1 - It was some day. I will just leave it at that. The only positive was weighing in at the 201.1 for my yearly physical which was the lowest I have been at my doctor. Going to bounce back tomorrow and finish this round strong!!!
1/11 - 202.4 - Started off great all the way through lunch. Went on a binge at dinner until bed. Getting back tomorrow and will track all food through bed time. Just a blip. I love this forum because it allows me to get back on track and not allow things to snowball for days/weeks. Good luck to everyone through the weekend.
1/12 - 204.29 -
Current Weight: 147 lbs
Goal Weight 130 lbs
01/03 - 145.8 lbs. walked a little over 4 miles yesterday and managed to stay within my calories
01/04 - 146.4 lbs. walked a little under 4 miles yesterday, I somehow managed to stay within my calories, although I ate much heavier foods and indulge a little too much!
01/05 - 146.7 raining lazy day. Didn't do much of anything but stayed with my calories so that's a positive.
01/06 -145.0 ran a little bit and then did 1/2 hour Zumba stayed within my calories finding foods I like to eat that are actually healthy so that's another positive this week.
01/07 - 144.8 Walked and did Zumba and stayed within my calories although it definitely wasn't healthy meal.
01/08 - 144.6 Ugh not really a good day... didn't walk very much and didn't eat very well... not bad just not good!
01/09 - 144.6 walked more thank 10,000 steps whoo hoo... even did zumba and stayed within my calories.
01/10 - 144.6 didn't work out as much as I would have liked. Busy day at work then busy day with the kids.
01/11 - 143.6 feeling great walked and some kick boxing.

Day/Weight/Comment
01/03 - 182.0 Happy with this.
01/04 - 181.9 I weighed myself twice this morning and got two different numbers, so this is the average. Crossing my fingers!
01/05 - 183.2 Well that's not very nice! I was over my calories yesterday but I'm guessing this has more to do with water retention or something. Oh well, off to Pilates!
01/06 - 183.0
01/07 - 182.6
01/08 - 185.4 I didn't even want to post this, but I'm pretty sure it must just be water retention since I ate out last night. That's what I'm telling myself....
01/09 - 184.4 UGH......
01/10 - 184.2
01/11 - 184.2
01/12 - 180.8 Whoosh! Um, okay, I don't have any hope that this will stay until tomorrow, but I'm sure doing the happy dance today!!!! Just the motivation I needed to keep up with tracking calories. I was getting discouraged!11 -
01/12 - 241.4...well that makes no sense. I finally went to the gym last night, did 20mins on treadmill, 20mins on elliptical and about 20mins upper body weights work out...and was showing a 2000 calorie deficit for the day. I think you're doing very well!
@Birder165 Thanks! I really hope that's what it is, it was pretty discouraging to see a gain this morning.
You're doing great as well, and you'll definitely hit the 240's next round!5 -

Day/Weight/10-day Calorie Ave/Comment
01/03 - 138.2 - 2078
Back on track, finally, with food & exercise. I'm interested to see how long it takes to re-lose what I gained the past 40 days.
01/04 - 138.2 - 2032
Average coming down, despite a piece of cranberry cobbler last night. Had to use those cranberries! On the plus side, I had my first of three sessions with a personal trainer yesterday and have a plan for the next month until I see her again, and I've been walking/biking every day and doing weights 3 times/week. We're supposed to get up to 48 this afternoon, hopefully with no rain, so I'm hoping to walk outdoors.
01/05 - 139 - 1970
Ah, the mysteries of calories, exercise, averages, and weight. I walked and hour+ yesterday, happily outdoors as it was 58F! No idea why I bounced back up. I did bake some whole wheat applesauce carrot honey muffins last night, and I ate 1, but that was only 130. I have been slacking on veggies, so that may be part of it. Onward! Have a great weekend, all!
01/06 - 139.2 - 1931
We had another beautiful day yesterday and I walked along the river for an hour. Temps are headed down, though, so I'll be back indoors - I'm a cold-weather weenie. This week I'm adding a stretch & flex and a yoga class to my routine.
01/07 - 137.6 - 1907
Finally trending down a little. Today's the day I restart eating against inflammation. I'm aiming for lots of fish and veggies, and am cutting dairy, gluten, and added sugar for now. We shall see. Also, recommended reading -- Food Sanity by Dr. David Friedman. He looks at various eating styles -- paleo, keto, and more - and the research that supports or contradicts them. Useful info!
01/08 - 137.2 - 1811
Yesterday I recommended (based on reading the intro) the book Food Sanity by Dr. David Friedman. I take it back. While there is some good info, Dr. Friedman's "science" is very shaky (my background is in anthropology, and his chapter on paleo and its basis in our species' history is underwhelming, to say the least) and many of his arguments read like junior high writing. I'm disappointed - I like the premise, but once I read material I know is incorrect I just can't trust the author re. the things I don't know. There's my review for what it's worth (and the book has many good ones online). Back to better sources for me!
01/09 - 137.8 - 1752
I woke up at 4 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, so I got up at 4:30 and was at the Y at 5:10. I walked 10 min to warm up and then did half an hour of weight training, and now I'm snuggled up at Panera Bread with a hot cup of vanilla spice tea, planning to write until DH shows up for breakfast. I'd love get back in the habit of early starts (although I like it better in the summer when the sun comes up earlier!). ! I have yoga this afternoon, so I'll walk another 50 minutes before class.
01/10 - 137.6 - 1665
I skipped yoga yesterday - the roads were really icy so I did some stretching at home. Better today, so I'll hit the Y this afternoon. I can't believe we're 10 days into January already!
01/11 - 138.4 - 1642
I had a bit of a pig out last night. I was in a lot of pain yesterday and depressed about it, and I ate a piece of applesauce oatmeal bread, chocolate, and a bunch of nuts. I also skipped exercise, which I probably shouldn't do. Feeling better today, so onward....
01/12 - 138.8 - 1683
Delayed pig-out consequences. I did eat a bit too much last night - cornbread, mmmm - but I also hit the Y for 90 minutes of bike and weights, so not a complete disaster. Next round will be better. See you there! Have a lovely weekend!
12 -
Journaled it all yesterday but it was NOT a pretty picture.
My goal for 2019 is to get into ONEderland. Changing my life.
SW: 245 (R63 starting 12/30/2018)
End R63: 245 (0 loss; lowest 244.4 & avg 244.7 over the 4 days)
Round 64 FIRST full 10 day round!
R64 my focus will be to not break my tracking streak since 12/28 and being active every day in some way shape or form! Get up out of the chair from work, reading or tv and MOVE! Focusing on baby steps and correcting so many bad habits! Goal is to reach 240-243 and make it stick.
01/03 - 244 - I guess yesterday’s bounce up was the fluke as I’m starting today’s round a pound lower! Rain and did not follow through with indoor bike.
01/04 - 244.4 - Yesterday reflection on the bump on the scale. Well deserved due to some choc cake and wine at bunco. Positive note. Stuck to raw veggies and lunchmeat at bunco to offset and tasted but did not eat the whole piece of cake! No exercise. Did not get up from chair during long day at work. Craved chips around 5 after work and gave in… tried carrots but then caved limiting the damage counting out the chips… slapping my own hand. 2 days back at work and again losing focus on exercise Wed & Thurs! This cannot continue!!! Prioritize yourself over work. Today’s challenge will be 1/2 day work then driving 7 hours today for a funeral tomorrow. Then turning around Saturday and driving home. Take clothes for the hotel gym.
01/05 - @ hotel no scale; followed through with my commitment and went to the hotel fitness center at 6am! 45 min on a bike hoping that it will make up for any damage from mexican food the night before. The rest of today will be funeral, combined sit down lunch/dinner after funeral with the large family then driving back from Arkansas to Texas.
01/06 - 247 - hoping this is sodium and just not moving much over the past couple of days traveling. We’ll see. Today walking around boat show and eating mindfully. AND drinking water.
01/07 - 243.9 Wonderful to see that yesterday was the fluke that I suspected. Today’s mindset is to not sit all day … get moving. Hopped on bike and went for 2 walks during work breaks! 11 day tracking food in MFP! Drank more water yeah me!
01/08 - 244.8 hmmm lots of salty stuff yesterday and a larger portion of my dinner than necessary. Need to learn to not just split with DH but take an even smaller portion. Reminder - It is okay to leave food on the plate. Restaurant lunch challenge today ... so planning to be mindful when ordering.
01/09 - 243.3 Yesterday picked a restaurant without chips on the table, ordered a side Mediterranean salad (cucumber & tomato) to offset the shoe string fries that came with the crab cake. Extra $ but so worth it! Water was my friend.
01/10 - 243.3 Bike and walked yesterday in addition to tracking and drinking water. Feels wonderful. Today worked and only walked to the mailbox then driving all evening. When we stopped for fast-food I choose the small hamburger (no cheese & no bun oil)!
01/11 - @ Camp no scale. 15 day streak on tracking! Will not have a scale Fri-Mon so I'll have to be accountable to myself without the scale and call yesterday's WI the end weight for this round and the start of the next until I return home on Tues.
01/12 - @ Camp no scale. Yesterday reflection. Did not exercise, lot of snacking, big meals and too much wine. It is not going to be a pretty picture. Need to reign it back in.10 -

01/10 ~ 224.3 @ 7:00am - crept up a bit, but didn't eat or drink enough yesterday. Still very happy overall.
01/11 ~ 224.7 @ 7:00am - don't know how I'm feeling about these numbers yet, but if it sticks would still be 5 pound loss which is pretty incredible!! Already got in a 40 mins workout this morn and planning to enjoy a Venus pampering kinda day to the fullest as I'm waaayyyyy overdue, lol ~ Happy Friday FitFam! 💖
01/12 ~ 223.4 @ 9:00am – happy is too mild a word right now ~ I’d 🤸 if I still could, lol. Six pounds lost this Round!! Going from IF 12/12 to 16/8 seems to have really made a difference. 🤞 toes eyes and everything else crossed it continues! Have a great weekend everyone!

Day/Weight/Comment
1/03 - 175.8 - Still a bit of fluid weight. 174.4 my R62 start weight flashed briefly before settling on this. I can wait.?
1/04 -177.6 - Felt miserable all day yesterday. This weird cold/allergy like illness again. Exercised, ate dinner and went to bed later than usual.
1/05 - 177.2 - Started the day feeling lousy and not hungry and on the right side of carbs and calories. Took some cold medicine and ended the day +400 on the wrong side of carbs and calories.
1/06 - 178.2 - My goodness, no surprise though. I opened one of the last bags of those delicious porcini rosemary kettle chips. Ate the heck out of them just before going to bed. I'm feeling much better this morning, so the comfort eating should cease. Although, it's a potentially high carb day, since I'm going to visit my littles.
1/07 - 177.2 - Under 50g net carbs, so very much better than Friday and Saturda y. Reigning it in today.
1/08 - 174.4 - 24g carbs, 19g net carbs. Carbs were: zucchini, salad, 1/4 grapefruit, 3/4 ounce of cashews after dinner drove up the carb count by 6g
1/09 - 174.8 - Fluid retention, not enough sleep. 19g carbs, 12g net carbs. Spinach, salad, cauliflower.
1/10 - 174 - 17g carbs, 15g net carbs.
1/11 - 172.8 - 15g carbs, 12g net carbs. Carbs were: Salad, cashews, spinach.
1/12 - 173.2 - 19g carbs, 14g net carbs. Carbs were: Spinach, salad greens & grape tomatoes, jalapenos, almond flour, cashews. 1.2 lb loss this round.

01/03 - 182.9 Whoosh! I am going to pretend that ugly 185 number didn't happen yesterday because this is where I expected to be - just took another day. The holidays are over and I am down - only .03 pounds but it's down. As long as the weather holds out I'll go for a walk this afternoon. I should be able to get in 3 miles before it's too dark. If I didn't have this stinky job I could really do more trail walking. Go home, get my dog and head to Kill Creek Trail for a day of romping in the chilly sunshine. Instead I'll stay here in my office and work
01/04 - 183.2 And back up we go. This roller coaster ride is making me queasy! I got in 5 miles yesterday - the fastest I have ever walked that far. I don't care if I'm up a little bit, I'm healthier than I was 24 hours ago. I'm going to go at least 3 tonight maybe 4 who knows.
01/05 - 183.0 The roller coaster goes down. I did eat back all of my calories yesterday, which I never do so I'm glad to see a small reduction today. I got to leave work a little early and talk a nice sunny winter 3 mile walk. Finally taking Christmas down today - that will burn some calories Then a walk this afternoon and then WHO KNOWS!
01/06 - 182.7 I did get in 3 miles yesterday. Took down the tree and spent quality time with family. That's as good as a Saturday gets. Today taking the Christmas stuff I went thru to goodwill and another walk I think. I'm traveling for work this week and need to exercise while I can. I won't be able to on Tuesday or Wednesday so walk today, gym tomorrow, two days off then back on the trail on Thursday.
01/07 - 183.0 After a one day dip the roller coaster goes up a bit. Probably the sodium from yesterday's lunch. I was under on calories and walked 4 miles. I'm not sure what else I can do but stick to the plan and know it works. I have five days left and I'm afraid I'll be right where I started. I have a four hour drive this afternoon then I'll stop at a gym close to my hotel for weights. Of course my food will be difficult this trip because I will have limited options for food tomorrow and Wednesday. I'm going for training where they bring in sandwiches, then a company dinner, then more sandwiches the next day. I hate these trainings where we don't get to go to lunch but have to eat whatever is brought in. I'm picky and do not like cold sandwiches. First world problems I know but when you're watching what you eat it's impossible to avoid sodium - it will be sliced turkey, beef, chicken, or ham. ALL salt bombs. Overly mayonnaise potato salad and cookies for dessert. The only thing I like is the cookie. They feel they're being healthy by offering turkey on wheat, and oatmeal raisin cookies. Maybe this time will be different. Maybe...
01/08 - no scale I was good calorie wise yesterday, walked 3 miles then a short weight work out. Today’s lunch was exactly what I expected but with a salad. I ended up ok but dinner is at the Budweiser Brew house. Chances of a nutritious meal less than 50%
01/09 - no scale Didn’t technically exercise yesterday but still got in 10k steps. Dinner was terrible. I had a few raw veggies and 1 chicken wing. Came back to the hotel for a salad. Oh well. Driving home today.
01/10 - 181.3 I WOOHOO! Oh happy day. I don't want to jinx myself but I think that's a real number. Trust the process. When it seems like the numbers aren't going your way trust the process and stick to the plan. Calories within goal and exercise. I should walk tonight but I forgot my shoes I wanted to share an NSV from training. The event was held at an old hotel (very cool place btw) but there were steps everywhere. You had to go up two flights to get from the dinning room back to the area where the sessions were. Everyone goes at once, so you can't really go around and find an elevator. The NSV for me was I was able to do two flights without a problem! We went to an Escape room... two flights of stairs to get to the room, went to the Budweiser place our room was up two flights of stairs. I did all of those without stopping half way and panting. I felt, dare I say normal?
01/11 - 181.0 I got a three mile walk in after work yesterday. I was going to take the day off but it's supposed to be raining and snowing the next two days. It was my fastest 3 miles ever... 49:13. I had given myself a goal in December to consistently walk under 17 minute miles and didn't really make it. I'm not always that fast but when I want to (and it's cold) I can do it. My average for yesterday was 16:20. I know that's not fast but I'm only competing with myself and I am kicking my *kitten*
01/12 - 178.6 Whoosh Did NOT see that coming. I'm sure it will come up a little tomorrow but this is awesome. I ended up walking again yesterday without paying any attention to the time. Literally just walked in the snow. It was beautiful. I'm so glad I did it. Great way to end the round, on to #65.11 -
I’m back! Starting something I’ve never done before- intermittent fasting 16/8. I’m hopeful that this can be a lifestyle change which will help me to stop late night eating and it will also help with crazy mornings with the family since I won’t need to eat until 11am and of course lose weight in the process. I don’t want to drastically change the type of food I eat right now (I generally eat on the healthier side, but no interest in food prepping and cooking different meals for me and the family) but will be cutting down on sugar for sure.

@MadisonMolly2017 Thank you for the suggestions. LOL Since I posted that ridiculous wake up time, it has stopped! I know this same sort of thing happened in Illinois when we lived there but it didn’t wake me as early. I finally figured out it was the school bus turning in our cul du sac - we were in the end lot. I have the same issue with earplugs-I can’t even stand having the sheet fall over my ear. I tried a sleep mask for a couple of days but couldn’t go to sleep at all with it on! I have noticed that I am sleeping better with the new mattress after a couple of nights of getting used to it.2

01/03: 184.6 - down .2 - I’ll take it!
01/04: 184.0 - took my 13 y/o downtown and went out to lunch. I was worried because I had some French fries but we walked about 4-5 miles downtown and enjoyed the day. Happy for the loss!
01/05: DNW - totally forgot until after lunch!
01/06: 185.4 - UGH - so frustrated with myself! Too much wine and not enough movement. I go back to work tomorrow so that structure will definitely help!
01/07: 184.6 - ok - trending down and back to work!
01/08: 184.8 - not sure what happened. Under calories and no wine last night but we didn't eat dinner until almost 9 and weighed at 5:30 a.m. - maybe that's it.
01/09: 183.4 - closer closer!
01/10: 183.8 - whatever!
01/11: 183.6 - well looks like I won’t make my goal this round - but it was quite ambitious. Slept in this morning but have my gym bag with me to stop by on the way home from work.
01/12: 183.2 - I’ll take it and be happy with my 1.4 lb loss this round. See you in the next round!9 -

am back! I have no idea how many rounds I have done, but I need to get back on track. The last couple of weeks have been a little weird for me and I have not been great. I was hitting low days of 150/151 and high days of 155/156. So I have been all over the place. I will hit 149 this round without fail!
Day/Weight/Comment
01/03 - 156.3 uuuggghhh, almost just skipped today, but decided to log it, own it, accept it, and be accountable. I ate 2 pancakes yesterday and the carbs and sugar destroyed me. I am sure this is also the rest of my New Years day celebration repercussions to. 2 days ago (Tuesday) I was at 151. Carbs, sodium, and not enough water kill me for some reason. Oh well, back at work today for the first time in a week and going to get back on track. I am sure I will be back down tomorrow to something at least manageable. Weighing and logging daily has at least taught me not to freak out about these things. I know I could not have gained 5 pounds in 2 days, but it is still frustrating to see that number. Next week I will be back at work all week and can get back on schedule.
01/04 - 153.3 I was expecting a pretty good drop. Stayed on track calorie wise yesterday and drank a ton of water. I'm hoping to be back down to 151 tomorrow and be good through the weekend. If I can start Monday on a half way decent start I will be happy.
01/05 - 151.7 and I’m back down. I have grocery shopping and house cleaning to do today. I also need to get all my Christmas stuff put back into the shed. DH has to work today so it should be a pretty low calorie day. Yesterday was a good day. It’s so easy to stay on track when I work and have a routine. I’m trying hard to stay the course and shed these last 15 pounds this year. I’m hoping to get back to losing my 4 pounds a month like I was before all the holidays started.
01/06 - 151.7 same today. Did well yesterday. Didn’t make the best food choices, but stayed at calories. Got all my Christmas stuff finally put away and my house is back to normal. It’s such a nice feeling waking up and not having all the clutter. Lol. DH and all the kids will be home today, so that will be nice. Kids finally go back to school tomorrow, thank goodness! So relaxing and getting stuff ready for them tomorrow is what is on the agenda today. It will be nice to get back on routine again.
01/07 - 153.2 up a bit, but very expected. DH decided to order Italian take-out for lunch yesterday. I did eat a salad first, but still ended up having 2 pieces of garlic cheese bread (so amazing) and Alfredo. Then decided we were going to make cinnamon rolls. So of course I had one of those with a beer. Yeah, my DH and kids do not help me at all on the weekends, lol. Did get all the kids off to school today and I am back at work! I haven't worked 5 days in a row in what seems like forever, but it has actually only been a month. Looking forward to seeing what happens at the end of this round now that I am back on track.
01/08 - 152.4 good day food wise yesterday, not so much on my water though. After a day of not so great eating, it always takes me 2 days to get back down. So tomorrow I should hit 151.xxx and then I am planning on finishing this round at 150.xxx. I have been in the 150 decade for 11 weeks now. I'm ready to move on! 4 days left of this one and so far going strong. I have not had any LNS and only had 1 day that I had a couple of bad food choices, which is way better than the last couple of weeks.
01/09 - 150.9 super stoked to see this number. I am 1/2 a pound away from where I was at the end of round 61, lol. I ended that round at 150.4 and then went off the deep end with all my holiday activities. May go up just a bit tomorrow. I was really low on calories by the end of my eating time and didn't want to break my IF. I don't know if I will be able to continue doing IF after this week. It really just doesn't work with my life. I think you have to be more disciplined or maybe organized than I am. I am trying very hard to have dinner on the table by 6 and have everything put away and cleaned by 7-7:30 (which is my cutoff), but by the time I pick kids up and do homework and deal with what ever crisis of the night there is or decide what we are going to eat it's later than that. I didn't even have dinner cooked until almost 7 last night. So I ate a couple of bites while cooking and then really didn't eat dinner. I am going to continue the rest of this week and see if I can get it together.
01/10 - 150.9 stayed the same which I guess is good. If the scale moves up I'm irritated, if it stays the same I'm irritated. I only like it when it moves down, lol. Once again ate dinner around 7:30 last night, so I have adjusted when I eat my lunch to accommodate for that. I put a roast on this morning so maybe we can do dinner a little earlier tonight. 2 days left and I have met my original goal, so updated it to 149. Even if I finish this round at 150 something I will be happy. At least I am back on track and going strong.
01/11 - 150.9 feeling very discouraged at this point I am not going to lie. 3 days and not even a little movement on the scale. Did well yesterday again, haven't had any alcohol in 4 days and no cheating. My 10 day average will be the lowest I have had since I started, and I will end lower than I did last round, so I am taking that and running. Maybe the scale will be nice to me tomorrow and I can show a nice end to this round. Waiting on my whoosh and keeping in mind this is a process. Still holding out for that 149, but I may not get it this round. 1 more day!
01/12 - 150.2 new low by 2 ounces (12/13 150.4) at least it went down a little bit. To say I am a little frustrated would be an understatement. I reset my scale and put my daughter on it to make sure it actually would weigh under 150, lol, but she weighed 72 lbs. So I am assuming it’s working right. Have my nieces 18th birthday party today, some shopping to get ready for the week, and then the Cowboys play tonight. It’s going to be a rough game, uugghh. So my day is planned and should be busy. See everybody in round 65 where I hope to get under 150 finally!7 -

45 female, 5'5"
Day/Weight/Comment
01/03 - 171.0 - Up a little from the past few days, but going down from holiday weight gain.
01/04 - 169.6 - Eating at calorie goal and working out! I feel really good. Almost back to my pre-holiday weight.
01/05 - 169.4 - Same as yesterday....eating at calories and exercising every day and best of all, feeling fantastic!
01/06 - 169.0 - Yesterday was packed full of fitness! Roller skated for 2 hours, hiked 4.5 miles and did a five minute plank! Under calorie goal, but didn't make the best food choices.
01/07 - 168.8 - Eating a little below calorie goal and working out every day. Yesterday I walked my dog, planked, and did day three of a twenty five day plank challenge.
01/08 - 168.2 This challenge has been a huge motivator for me to eat healthy and exercise! I've been on track since the new year and am super stoked with the results. Only .2 pounds from my end of 10 day goal!
01/09 - 170.0 - Ran a 5k run after work yesterday, felt strong, especially after struggling all last year with injuries. I feel like I'm finally healed and can run again. Went out to dinner for Mexican food last night and brought home half my dinner as leftovers. I figured I'd be heavier this AM despite being a little under my calorie goal.
01/10 - 170.0 Hoping this goes down tomorrow, eating at or under calories and exercising. Fingers crossed! 🤞
01/11- 167.8!!! I met my end of round goal with an extra .2 loss! Walked 3 miles yesterday, ate a little under calories, and completed day 7 of my squat challenge. 👍
01/12 - 166.0! I am shocked. No idea I'd be down this much this morning. I'll take it though. On to round 65!

1/4-174 A good swoosh down after heavy eating.

1/6-No Scale
1/7-175 I tried to eat good over the weekend away. It’s good to be home and back into 2 walks a day while packing the house.
1/8-175 Again. I waited too long to eat yesterday and didn’t eat healthy. For me, I need protein, and I don’t crave crap.
1/9-173 Finally. I go to quilt with my friend today and we usually eat healthy.
1/10-No Scale, but I did make good choices eating out with my uncle after we took care of my aunt (mom’s sister).
1/11-172-Wise eating, lots of water and bits of exercise here and there while I pack moving boxes.
1/12-172-Salty lunch yesterday. I’m glad you are all here!!!!!
I hope to see all of you in the next round!!!!😊

@TerriRichardson112 Congratulations on that win! That would be so motivating. Also good job on getting rid of those holiday pounds! What is DYD?
@tlgale Water retention for muscle recovery?? Drink more water. I drink at least an extra liter on gym days.
@ghy5, @aFit50, and @hoshaugh73 Good job!
@jenn990205 Don’t short change yourself - 0.2 pounds is actually 3.2 ounces. 😁 Don’t sabotage yourself with football snacks.6 -

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
1/2 131.5
:::::::::::::::::
1/3 131.0 I have been having some intestinal distress for several days which may finally be passing although it sounds as if a battle rages!
1/4 131.0 Today is the 48th birthday of our first born. I remember the icy roads and the 8 mile, 45 minute drive to the base at 2AM, and the poor fellow at the gate trying to chip the ice off the sticker which gave us access to the base, his panic when Carl said I was in labor. AT 5:08AM, a beautiful 8# 1 oz, healthy baby girl appeared. She has become a beautiful woman, a wonderful mom, and a caring nurse.
1/5 130.5 Our new mattress was delivered yesterday. I wish I could say I felt I slept great on it but I think there will be an adjustment period. I hope.
1/6 131.5 I’m so tired! Awake before 5AM again with the start of a headache which has now gone. Used sucralose sweetener yesterday and today in my coffee instead of stevia. I think that may be the cause of the gain as I only ate 1/2 of my Greek salad yesterday and one egg. Dozed off tubing and accidentally deleted my whole post. I need a nap!
1/7 132.0 Did not drink close to enough water yesterday. I was so sleepy all day that I fell asleep in my recliner at 7:30 last night. Carl woke me at 10:30 to go to bed. I showered and was in bed by 11 and slept until 4:38 this morning. Something wakes me every morning at that time! Since I didn’t drink water before bed, it wasn’t the call of nature. It’s irritating.
1/8 131.5
1/9 131.0 We meet our new doctor today. New insurance, same medical group, different location - about 5 miles closer to home. Hope this is as painless as it should be!
1/10 129.5 I think that was the first time EVER that I have enjoyed going to the doctor! What pleasant people! I praise God for our relative good health and for a doctor who actually listens! We had lunch at Sweet Tomatoes BEFORE going to the doctor.
1/11 129.0 Sort of surprises. I ate a lot of carbs yesterday because I caved to 1/4 pita that was left from last weekend’s Greek salad. Well, it may bite me in the rear when I weigh tomorrow. I’ll have to be super vigilant today.
1/12 129.5 Three days in a row of 129.x! I would have to say I haven’t been in this area since the late 1980’s. Average weight this round is down over a pound! I hope it sticks!11 -
My first round
5’7, female, 38 years old
SW: 210.2
GW: 145ish
1/03: 207.8
1/04: 207.2
1/05: 205.8 - I suspect a lot of this loss is water weight as I have been refraining from alcohol and drinking ~100oz of water a day
1/06: 205.6 - Had planned a day off of working out yesterday, but then got invited to a friend’s to watch football, so hit the gym for a quick workout beforehand to earn some extra calories. They ordered pizza for dinner, and had beer cheese fondue, of which I ate both . I did refrain from drinking alcohol though, which is hard around these friends, so I feel proud for that. I was still under my calorie goal, but only drank 72oz of water (my goal is 100oz each day.) So, overall a fine day, but I could have made more nutritious food choices.
1/07: 204.6 - Had *major* intestinal issues yesterday. Still not feeling 100% today. I took my day off exercise yesterday, but may do it again today until I feel better - will see how I feel late afternoon. I found my Fitbit charger last night (no easy feat ), so I can start using that again to track exercise calories a bit more accurately. Today is the first time in over 3 weeks that I’ll have a couple hours to myself at home, so I plan to take “before” photos (felt to awkward trying it when people were home/didn’t have a private space where photos would come out clearly.) I am also planning my first trip to the grocery store since starting this, so I’ll have to be more intentional about reading labels, which is not my strong suit, especially with possibly whiny kids in the cart. I downloaded a step by step mediation/mindfulness app a few days ago (I’ve never tried this before), and I can already tell it’s helping me combat negative thoughts throughout the day - I feel most excited about discovering this in my journey so far! Whew, this was longer than I intended. Thanks for reading!
1/08: 203.8 - Still had major stomach issues yesterday. Ate over my calories with toast and bagels trying to settle my stomach 🙈. Felt better by the evening, but didn’t do a work out. Did some squats and leg lifts before bed. I did hit my water goal and did make it to the store to stock up on healthy items, but did not do my “before” photos - which I WILL get done today. In other news, I have a conference in about a month, and I checked my medical records to see about how much I weighed at around the conference last year. I was about 5lbs lighter than I am right now, so I am glad I will be about the same as last year. Also though, I thought I was 5’6, and all my recordings say 5’7 so 🤪 - really helped move that BMI percentage though 😆. All my drivers licenses forever have said 5’6, so feeling pretty dumb, and will need to update my current one.
1/09: 203.4 Felt better yesterday, worked out hard, ate healthy, hit my water goal. Took before photos - boy was I ever kidding myself about what my backside looks like without clothes 🙈.
1/10: 203.2 Yesterday was pretty good - stayed under my calorie goal, but didn’t log my food before I ate it (I did measure it to record later, and found I had 450 calories of cheese on my tacos - ugh! That’s like 1/3 of my calories before exercising! Must record before eating cheese going forward!) After using my Fitbit again for a few days, I think I was way underestimating my exercise calories before, but I know their calories out aren’t super accurate either. It is nice to see I am averaging 15k steps a day without my workouts. Also, fun to see my heart rate is in cardio burn rate mode when I go in the sauna - maybe I’ll burn an extra couple calories there 😂. Today I woke up and when I looked in the mirror the first thing I noticed was my skin looks excellent and glowing, which I credit all this water I am drinking and all the sweating I am doing with working out and the sauna - it’s my first visually noticeable sign of my program so far, so I am noting it. Have a great day everyone!
1/11: 201.8 - Today marks 14 days without my evening glass(es) of wine, and 14 days from starting MFP. I have been doing great with my ~100oz of water a day goal, but the last 3 mornings I have woke up and been insanely thirsty - so strange! Must investigate why that may be today. I have noticed that I’ve only “needed” 1 cup of coffee this week, as opposed to my usual desperate need for 3, so that’s a good NSV I think. I am supposed to go to “drinks” with some friends tonight. I’ve resolved not to drink as I am trying to make it to my birthday in early Feb. However, I am having *serious* internal conflict about if I order food (this place makes the most amazing soft pretzels with cheese 🥨 that I have been known to order a couple of 🙈.) I do think I can limit myself to 1, but I am not sure I can bank enough for calories for even 1, as I probably won’t have enough time to workout today. I did workout hard last night on the elliptical though (mostly because there was a gossipy woman there from the neighborhood and I didn’t want her to have anything to say about my effort.) Fitbit says I burned 1k calories . . . Hard to believe! Anyway, that’s what’s up with me today. Have a great one everybody!
1/12: 200.8 - My 4 year old and I came down with the most miserable colds out of nowhere yesterday late morning. I didn’t go out with my friends, went to bed at 530pm, and because of that skipped dinner altogether. Didn’t hit any of my goals, except staying AF. Here is to feeling better tomorrow . . . Also, this marks my first weight loss number goal of -10lbs since starting on 12/29, but it feels sort of lackluster because of the sickness. I didn’t set a goal for this round, as I didn’t know what to expect, but I am down exactly -7lbs for round 64. See y’all in round 65! Have a great weekend!10 -

Goal: Continue to work on elimination diet for my food allergies.
Day/Weight/Comment
01/03--213.4 Went to the gym to lift weights this morning and while I know a lot more people go to the gym at the start of the year I was still surprised that at 5 am there were so many more people than usual. It's rainy and windy today, so I will probably just do some work around the house as I continue to wait for the shutdown to end.
01/04--215.3 Bump in weight due to extra water retention and extra sodium from going out to eat last night, it was a last minute decision. Definitely feeling heavy this morning. Today I have to run around and do some errands and do some cleaning to get ready for tomorrow when the in-laws come by to celebrate my husbands' and my brother-in-laws' birthdays. Plan today is to make sure I get my water in.
01/05--216.2 Normal for me to have a second day bump in weight after eating out. Feeling very heavy this morning, I'm sure I ate something that I was allergic to when I went out to eat 2 days ago. Going out for a birthday lunch today, so I have to be more conscious of what I am eating today. If weather holds up I will take dog for a walk after the birthday festivities today.
01/06--216.4
01/07--216.4 Wow, 3lb bump on the scale in 5 days. It's fascinating to see what happens when I eat foods that I am sensitive/allergic to. Yesterday my power went out all day, so I couldn't go to the gym because it was closed and I ended up going out for breakfast. So, in the last 4 days, I've gone out to eat 3 times and I'm sure I ate something I am sensitive to in every meal that I ate. Adding in the sodium, that definitely accounts for the 3lb increase. Today I got back on track, but I can definitely feel that my digestion is not happy with what I have been eating, it's funny but I used to feel this way all the time before I started the elimination diet and I thought it was normal. Tomorrow my husband wants to go out to his favorite restaurant for his birthday dinner and I have already planned what I am going to eat. I went out for a 1 hour walk with the dog today.
01/08--217.4
01/09--216.4 Husband and I went out for an amazing dinner for hubby's birthday. I ate as well as a could with my elimination diet parameters, but I definitely ate a few things that weren't, but the food was so good so I will live with the consequences. The last of my eating out is done for awhile, so got back on track as of this morning. Yoga tonight.
01/10--215.3 Missed the gym this morning, I had trouble sleeping and couldn't think to wake up at 4:45. My plan is go to the gym later this afternoon when I hope the gym is pretty quiet.
01/11--215.1 Ended up going to the gym yesterday afternoon. Went to my nutritionist today, she wants me to work on being more conscious with my eating and being more aware of why I eat something when I never planned to eat it. Got called back in to work just for today even though I'm furloughed. It was weird being in the office after 3 weeks, but the structure of going to work today had me drinking a lot more water. Weather tomorrow is supposed to be nice, so plan tomorrow is to take my dog and go out with our dog walking/hiking group.
01/12--214.2 This has been a great round for me. It really made me aware of the effects certain foods have on my body. This round also showed me that even though it was tough to see my weight go up so quickly in the middle of the round I was strong enough to not let it totally derail my weightloss journey.

am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. I have been participating in this challenge since Round 40, thanks @GrandmaJackie. My average loss/gain since Round 40 to 63 is a 0.5lb loss each round. This was better than I expected!
Start Weight Feb 2018 - 202
Next Goal - 170 I will get there, hopefully soon

Day/Weight/Comment
01/03 - 181.2 - I don’t know why it’s up today. Yesterday was a pretty healthy eating day really and I exercised.
01/04 182.0 - has another good day yesterday except for sodium. I know a lot of this is water weight as my fingers are swollen. I’ll drink more water today.
01/05 - 182.2 ugh
01/06 - 181
01/07 - 182.4
01/08 - 181.2
01/09 - 181.4 - I am so disappointed with myself for this round. I am finding it hard not grazing since I am home and not working. I was going out daily, but yesterday our car died on me while I was out and that’s not helping financially at all.
01/10 - 182.0
01/11- 179.6 - Well this would be nice to see again tomorrow.
01/12 - 180.2 - this round was so frustrating! Can’t wait to move on to the next one!10 -

Delayed pig-out consequences. I did eat a bit too much last night - cornbread, mmmm - but I also hit the Y for 90 minutes of bike and weights, so not a complete disaster. Next round will be better. See you there! Have a lovely weekend!
I am not alone with "plus" this round. Next round will be better for sure

01/03 286.4 and 8.0pounds down since I started. Hoping to find Fitbit charger so I can accurately check my calories burned daily.
01/04 285.2 I normally weigh in every morning after I get up and pee so this is a nice way to be able to log everything. *Update on my day although not weight related* Found out my father in law has cancer in the hips and lungs today, feeling so down and bad for my MIL. They are such good people and she lost her dad last January so this is really a blow to her.
01/05 284.9: 9.1 lbs down. Maybe tomorrow I’ll hit 10. 🤞🏾🤞🏾
01/06 286.2: and frustrated. Didn’t lose but gained and was really hoping to hit my 10 lb loss today. I drank some wine last night but was still in my calorie allotment so I’m feeling like it was the pad thai and all those carbs. Anyhow, here’s to a new day. I got a new Fitbit yesterday as well so hoping that will help motivate me with steps and everything. I’ve also had a killer headache since last night and today will probably be a lazy day.
01/07 287.4 and really annoyed now. How the hell did I gain 3 pounds this weekend? I stayed below my calorie limit even though it was a little higher than the last few days. It has to be the carbs. I did read that a Norma daily fluctuation can be 3-5 pounds but it sucks to see any higher number when I’m working so hard to lose. Anyhow, today will be a good day. I have an interview for a healthcare job that I’ve wanted for a while. Luck and prayers are being accepted!
01/08 286.2 Going back down again, thank goodness! I should hear back about the job either today or tomorrow and my stomach is just in knots. I do have another interview today at 1030 but it’s for a job that I don’t really want. School starts again Monday and I’m so ready to get this semester on the road! Hoping to see the scale go down again tomorrow. Here’s to hoping!
01/09 284.6 I got the job! And I’m so close to hitting my 10 lb goal! My father in law had his biopsies done yesterday and we should hear back in a few weeks and find out a treatment plan for him. Binge watching my 600 pound life really motivates me to not want to be on that show. I can’t believe I was almost halfway there before I started to get my *kitten* together. I have really enjoyed this page and the accountability it’s held me to knowing that I will have to post my weight every day. 3 days left, let’s see where we’re at!
01/10 284.0, yay! I mean I’m not happy that I weigh that much but I’m 10 pounds down. I even woke up this morning and did some very light yoga 🧘♀️ and it felt so good. It’s made my body feel better, it put me in a lighter mood, I just feel good. Going to make some black beans in my instant pot tonight. I’m so in love with it.
01/11 283.0, another day another pound. Had to take a drug test this morning for my job and then have spent the morning freezing meals and making beans in my instant pot since I didn’t do it last night. Turned out really good and I got so much. 11 pounds down total, and tbh don’t know how I lost a pound yesterday. I ate bad so I’m wondering if I’m going to wake up heavier tomorrow...guess we will see.
01/12 284.6 I hate seeing my weight fluctuate so much but I know it’s normal. I thought I’d be downa bit more this week and feel like I just need to be more strict with my diet and more motivated to incorporate exercise. I got the boflex weight set yesterday so I can start lifting weights and I’m also going to take my measurements to I can have accurate results since I may be gaining muscle.
Total down 9.1
Down this week 1.8
Where will we find the next thread for this?

25th Round for me: Female 65, height 5’
This round is turning out to be a real struggle but feel like I’m doing some good work getting started on things I should have done a long time ago. That means working through things, which in the short term is stressful (more likely to overeat) but in the long term will be beneficial – therefore help my weight loss. So right now am “walking through the swamp.” Thanks to FarmerCarla for link: https://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/The_Movie_Chair/view/walk-through-the-swamp-959755Round 39 (1st for me) – SW 163, -.2Round 64 – 161.6

Goal this round: to at least see some 159s. I was down here in Oct. and having so much trouble getting back there. Right now even ½ lb. per round would seem great. My short term goal is to be down at least 6 lb. by the end of March. That is just .7/Round but for me would be great progress.
Ultimate Goal Weight – 128; Hoping to be under 140 by end of June.
Day/Weight/Comment
01/03 – 162.2 - Did not post as I had not got around to setting up this Round. I did weigh though.
01/04 – 163.6 – Yesterday started out great but ended in disaster with RJ’s chocolate licorice twists. Thurs. I have knitting group in the morning which is always fun but get groceries in the afternoon which I never feel like doing … and then I buy something for a treat “now & then” only it often ends up being now. The other part of the disaster was that I had determined to do some planning, but I don’t feel like doing it. Well, I’m going to start on it today anyhow, whether my childish self feels like it or not.
01/05 – 164.4 – Scale was determined to say this although it seems odd. Thursday I was probably 450 calories over but the rest of the week has been good. No gym yesterday but calories were good. Today I have no car but doing exercises at home and also have to clean house so a more active day.
01/06 – 164.4 – Not so great yesterday but did log all. Determined to log all for the next 3 months. I tend to get slack with the evening meal and just make a rough guess – usually too kind to myself but sometimes I think I’m way over and actually I’m not.
01/07 – 163.6 – Much better! This round has been a scary blip back to what life used to always be – emotional eating in the evening and feeling draggy and bloated in the morning. I don’t ever, ever want that life again. Was listening to something by Jordan Peterson (clinical psychologist) and he said that in tests they’ve found that fear is a greater motivator than reward. If you think about it, it’s true – how many of us are here because we got a “good scare”? Sometimes it’s good to take a hard look at where you are going if you don’t change.
01/08 – 162.4 – Good day at the gym yesterday and logged all. Ate back only 50 cals. of exercise. My daily limit is 1200 which is enough for me to feel satisfied IF I get enough protein and a reasonable amount of fat. Because I’m so short, fine boned and sedentary plus being older I just don’t burn very many cals. Working to up the exercise on non-gym days.
01/09 – 162.4 – Gym today, thought I had no car but hubby took the bus so now have no excuse! Also got up ½ hr earlier. Somehow that extra time in the morning is often what makes or breaks the day. Yesterday got up a bit later (8:00) and then got a loooong phone call from daughter that I hadn’t heard from since before Christmas … all great but with the late start, exercising went out the window.
01/10 – 163.4 – Good day at the gym yesterday, pushed harder and had a time limit so a little sore today. Also had a supper with a lot of soy sauce … so, water retention? just a random blip back up? Anyhow, motivation to get some exercise in on my day which will be mostly writing on the computer and weaving in ends on my knitting. Not fun projects but it will feel good to have them done. Have a great day everyone!
01/11 – 163 – Didn’t make a lot of progress with the writing yesterday but got started and did keep the calories good. No real exercise. Gym again this morning.
01/12 – 162.2 – Back to my beginning and at least not a gain. Good workout yesterday and kept the eating under control. On to a better next round.
