Great to see all the places of progress for people-keep it up! Got to leave work early and felt initially guilty about it. But most days I stay a bit to finish notes and loose ends so I was able to move past it and recognize the balance. Came home and had a lovely chat with my grandma, did a HasFit workout that totally kicked my butt (ended up marching in place for the last 5 minutes but I hung in there) and about to reward myself with some TV and winding down. Have a great end to the week my tribe!

Had an awesome day today.
Got the water and exercises in. Didn't overeat.
Was exceptionally happy to do the work.
I'm getting ready to EXPERIENCE THE EXPECTANCY! 😀😀😀💪🙌🙌🙌4 -
@maryrobinson40 I had a wonderful day and it is spreading into the evening.
This is my Facebook post that explains my happiness best:
I spent some time with Kaitlyn-Michelle today while she cut and coloured my hair. When she was done and the instructor came to sign off on it the instructor told her to take a walk. Kaitlyn was shocked but did as she was told. The instructor proceeded to tell me what a beautiful, respectful, hardworking daughter we had and told me how proud we should be. There may have been tears in my eyes and a hitch in my throat when I thanked her.8 -

JFT, THurs
1. fill out disability paperwork. Very emotional day ... there is nothing harder than writing a letter to disability, listing all the signs and symptoms of my daughters illness, and begging them to keep her on disability.
2. visit doctors and get letters supporting daughters need to remain on disability Letters gotten, my letter finished, paystub info ready ... all done, and ready to drop off on Monday. And just pray for the best, and if not, pray to be able to handle and support anything else. And food will not be the answer.
3. work on pc boards Stressed out over this, as lately hard for me to keep up. But plan on working this weekend to try and catch up.
4. work on charity sewing . Nothing can help us more than when we help other. RIght now, I am sewing little stuffed animals to donate to the children hospital. No time.
5. finish baby quilt for my friend
6. clean house ... keep busy

I did well with my goals yesterday, but I was feeling poor in the evening and didn't eat dinner. I did have a bit of frozen custard, go figure. This morning was a weigh in and I'm guessing it is a false low, with me not eating dinner, but even with that I think there was some real loss. I was down 1.8 pounds from last week. I'm guessing more like 1 pound down in reality. I need to remember this next week in case it looks like a gain. I'm still happy with it.
J .
Awesome -- 1.8 pounds!! Great job!!!1 -

JFT 14th March
Eat sensibly (under maintenance) Yes
Vegetables! 3 portions, getting better!
Back exercises No. Don't know why I keep failing on this
Bit of babysitting Of course I did this one lol
Less online time Yes, nicely busy until evening
March challenge - walk (stormy again ugh) No. No excuse, just felt too tired and lethargic
JFT 15th March
Eat under maintenance
Back exercises
Make soup for son
Stay relaxed, do not comfort eat
Not really sure what I'll do today. Son D is coming for a quick visit, moving some of his stuff back home. My sore throat turned into a stinking cold last night, and there is still a gale blowing outside, so not even sure if I'll go for a walk. I should have been visiting parents today, but will need to stay away from them and baby until the cold is past. So looks like a day inside

Scale goalsEnd of 2017: 174.6
End of 2018: 189.2
January 2019: 186.0
February 2019: 187.0
Today: 187.6
Ongoing plans/ideas behind the cut1. Purchases: Go to Mac store and see if they can retrieve the files off the iMac. Look for an "ugly Christmas sweater" and a long-haired doll at thrift stores. Practice French braiding. Go to used bookstore and look for Design for How People Learn (Julie Dirksen), On Writing (Stephen King), Dying for a Paycheck (Robin Hardman), The Prince (tr. Tim Parks, Russell Price, or Robert Adams), The Secret Adversary (Christie).
2. E2: What should the controlling ideas be in a study of world literature? Review world lit options. Create vocabulary lists for each unit that come from the texts used: Animal Farm, Julius Caesar, Wes Moore, I Am Malala. Find a way to incorporate changing words from one part of speech to another. Students need to know how to review multiple sources and synthesize information in order to draw a conclusion. Need practice with the difference between transitions and overlapping (at end of paragraph - "another issue is Y" vs "there are other issues besides X"). Quit using "in conclusion" and "I believe" and other writing-about-my-writing phrases. Confusion between direct/indirect objects and prepositional phrases. Use the UDHR and the Declaration of Independence to study paraphrasing; use that to front-load Machiavelli and how to deal with challenging texts. Confusion between everyday / every day and similar constructions.
3. E1: Need practice with quoting & paraphrasing sources, identifying claims that would need support, use of last names for reference, and capitalization practice (common/proper nouns, titles). Difficulty using possessive nouns in their own writing. Honors: practice subject/object pronouns (my friend and I / my friend and me).
4. Curriculum Development: Writing mini-unit. Review scholarly research on 5PE. (I think I can have this as an intro to the research unit so that they also get exposure to how quotes are integrated and cited.) Parallel structure; use of emotional language, specific detail. Use "Write About a Pebble" lesson from Atwell. How long should each unit take? Do research on characteristics: curiosity, persistence, resilience, creativity, responsibility, optimism, courage, integrity, authenticity, leadership, self-awareness, humility, compassion - others? Include grammarly check on essays!
5. Professional Development: Write blog post weekly. Comment on 3 posts each week -Tu Th Sun? Check with PSC. Talk with Z about articles and/or conference proposals.
6. Medical: Dentist? Apr 22 McC. Need sub. Call to set up checkups with Dass (October). GET MAGAZINES FOR COLLAGES FROM DOCTORS.
7. Theater: Audition for Christie March. Audition for Mamma Mia ??? Need sub for May 2, opening day.
8. House: Mineral oil on tile spots. Check with D about ceiling.
WFTY: Climbing. I feel like I'm way behind this week. All I could manage last night was exercise class and making dinner. No reading. No grading. No work on my essay for this week. No laundry folded. Dishes still need to be washed.
It's like I'm trying to climb a pile of loose gravel.5 -
Sorry went missing, again. Can't keep up with all the posts. I read some then had to skip to the end.
Hope all who are sick feel better real quick!
Congrats to all who've had successes!
Let's stay in the game & never give up!-to all who are struggling.
Many virtual hugs, good vibes, and best wishes to all who are down & anyone who needs them.
I had to go out of town, quite suddenly, when my Aunt died. Mainly due to the trauma of it for my Mom who has Alzheimer's. Her oldest sister who she had visited not even a week before & looked great! So hard for her to understand & now Mom only has 2 siblings left who aren't well, either. Was 5 siblings.
I had poor blood results from check up apppintment just before I left town. High cholesterol, blood sugar & calcium. I soo DONT want to start on meds like Lipitor. So, now dieting is quite different for me & altho I already knew that this was likely to happen if I didn't start dieting & exercising seriously, it appears that I had to wait for damage. So hoping that it's not too late to become healthy again.
Traveling has always been the hardest for me. But this time I stuck to my meal plans pretty well! I was a different person from my past.
Anyway, so far I've lost 3 lbs in about 3 weeks. And it's easier now, because now my psyche is avoidance for health reasons. My desire NOT to be on more meds is huge even tho it may not matter and I might have to be on the meds anyway. I definitely want to improve my health more than ever now.
Have been focusing on diet & water. Will add exercise in this week.
Done great with dieting & altho my minimum on water is 4 cups, I've been making that goal every day since Saturday & most days had more!
JFT 3/15/19
Stick with meal plans
Minimum 4 8 oz glasses of water
Stay in Green
Make meal plans for the next couple days.
Find way to work in exercise consistently3 -

Posting my goals again, to keep them fresh in my mind. Today is a day I am so down. I just want to cry, but I can't. I finished the letter to disability, and also to our daughters doctor. I know we need to check into permanent housing for our daughter .. we just can't do this anymore. And she should not be living alone. So I am heartbroken. I love her so much .. who wants a life like this for your child. So all I want to do is cry, and eat. But I know that is not the answer. I have to stay strong. I have to stay healthy, to be on this earth as long as I can, for her. I would give anything if I could trade places with her. Last nite we went to the grocery store, and I lost her, only to find her standing in the middle of the grocery isle, looking down at the floor, crying. My heart is breaking, because there is nothing I can do except write to her doctor, and pray that the people at the disability office see what we see. A young girl, trying so hard to work to get her life back like she had it, but unable to.
sorry for the rant ... but it has kept me from eating, and telling myself that I can do this.

This is true! However, I'm sure we are all taking a collective sigh, perched on the edge of our chairs waiting expectantly to hear from you!!! But, yes, take the time to do some research, develop, and practice.
Peace and joy.2 -

First let me say, job well done! Your efforts are paying off in a big way. So keep that discipline going. You have pushed through this trying time like I've never seen you do before and wow! The results are phenomenal. Don't give in just because it's the weekend, or as a reward...and I'm talking to myself more than you!
Oh, how your heart must be filled with pain to see your daughter suffering so. This wasn't the plan. But you are doing an amazing and admirable job at being her advocate, her column of support, her watchman, her strength, all done with a mother's love that can not be broken. Your healthy choices make way for a clear mind, steady emotions, and increased energy to tackle what needs to be done. Keep moving in the right direction, and as you wrote, not just for your sake, but for your daughter's as well.
We love you, Joan.
