Held my plank for 3 minutes then took the extremepump class. The plan for tomorrow is to do the Reebok Cardio Tone DVD
Tracey – congrats on being smoke free. My father called me stubborn, too. That trait seems to work in our favor
M – I’ve noticed differences in calories, etc in the database, too. I always assumed it was because the calorie counts are different in different countries.
Bianca – where did you get the calorie count for the banana bread? If you got it from the database, people put in calorie counts for things like the whole loaf or half the loaf, when you only had a slice. That could explain why suddenly you have used up your calorie allotment for the day.
Beth – when Jess leaves, I have to really clean, make the bed, put her things away, clean the bathroom. You’re right, I certainly don’t miss that part.
CSSJ – (((HUG)))
Clowe – all I can say is “wow!!!”
Bonnie – at least the people will bring Ollie back. Some people wouldn’t do that.
Went to ceramics and then mahjongg. There was a new lady there. Maj’d once only

BARB,my DH finally saw the Dr today. His diagnosis was bronchitis & is taking antibiotic too. His main complaint besides deep coughing is tiredness. Our Grand daughter ( in another state) also has it & says the tirdness is so heavy, hard to describe. Hope your med helps. Pat in Oh
Thanks, Pat. Today was day 4 of the five days of antibiotic. My energy is back and the cough is almost gone.5 -
Kylia I like Aubrey's daddy's employer. That was the right thing to do.5

For a brief moment in time, January's calendar had hardly anything on it.
Now it's full and I'm booking into February.

Sometimes that's true. You do have to pick the item from your country.
But in this case, it was an Australian item that used to show 75 calories, then someone decided it wasn't that much and changed it to 50 calories.
We only wish. But no. It doesn't suddenly drop 25 calories just because someone would like it to be 25 calories less.

Barbie I could have used your "Pause" this morning... Joe was blowing spruce needles off the deck and, wanting to be helpful, brought the blower into the dining room and started blasting away. NO, no, noooo, NOOOO! I shrieked. He's done this before and I find needles crammed into the corners and edges and even in crevices of small kitchen appliances. BUT, really I didn't have to shriek. I could have just touched his shoulder and smilingly shook my head. Aaaauuugggghhh.

Good Morning
I've joined a group of ladies who meet up for coffee and lunch on a monthly basis and we decided to see the new Mary Poppins film yesterday, (we were the only ones there without children but we didn't care). I really enjoyed it, the special effects were so good. There was even a cameo appearance by Dick Van *kitten* who was is in the original version. Well worth seeing.
What beautiful words about the effects of someone passing. Sorry can't remember who posted the original.
Heather what a shame about the broken glass in your dresser.
Had lots more to say, but time has got away with me, I'd better get some work done! I'll try to get back later.
Have a good Tuesday

Morning, afternoon and evening, all...
Read through, but just absorbing, not had enough coffee to add a reaction. It's far too early to think, at this point, but the guy snoring in the next room over in this very thin-walled hotel is not going to stop anytime soon, so I've given up on going back to sleep. Another cup of coffee will do me. Actually, it's oddly comforting, as it's pretty much the exact sound effects as when I travel with my husband--like a small animal is growling somewhere close, and my keyboard just tippy-tapping along.
Love y'all,

Out of the 29 years I've been doing this, it's my 25/29th best year. In other words, I've only had 4 years with fewer kilometres.

Good morning all! Happy Tuesday!
Viv- LOL! I giggled when I saw how mfp censored Dick VanD Y K E's name! I haven't seen the new Mary Poppins, yet; but it is on my list of movies I want to see.
Kylia- Keeping baby Aubrey in my thoughts and prayers. Wow! Like Karen VA, I am so impressed with Aubrey's daddy's employer! What a wonderful gift to give to an employee with a sick family member! Put a lump in my throat this morning!
Suebdew-my cousin has one kidney and does keto. She checked in with her doctor first, because I guess some meds and health conditions will factor into how your kidney's react. She has to monitor her water intake to be sure she is getting enough and she eats a LOT of veggies. She also has labs done on a regular basis to make sure all of her "numbers" are okay. But she has lost weight and feels so much better since living a keto lifestyle.
Cathy in Arlington-You look fantastic!
Barbara- I am dying of laughter this morning! I can just picture your Joe, blasting away with the blower in your dining room! LOLOL ! Thanks, but no thanks!
Well, I better get moving. One kiddo is asking for breakfast and I will have baby Nora here, shortly, and she usually arrives either hungry or poopy. I have my consult appointment with my gynecologist this afternoon; so the kids will be picked up early but Trentin will be here at 4:15 (but only for a couple hours). I might get to bed early tonight! EEEeeek! So excited!
Sending love and hugs to you all! ttfn xoxoxoxo KJ (Kelly)4 -
Morning! Icy roads have given me a 2 hour delayed opening so I am luxuriating in bed with coffee—my oatmeal is bubbling away and will eat that with applesauce-unsweetened.

Hello!
I'm new to the community. I have been actively using my fitness pal for a week, even though I've been a member for years, I have never really used the app. So far, I am really enjoying this process.
I do not have a word for 2019, but I really do like the idea...I will think on that and find one do describe what I want personally for 2019. I don't really have resolutions, but my goal for 2019 is to get myself back into a healthier lifestyle and take care of me.
I have always tried to eat healthy and exercise, but two years ago my elderly mother had an old injury from a car wreck come back to haunt her where she became mostly paralyzed. I found myself driving daily an hour each way to check on her and my father. In January of 2018, I moved them onto my property from their home of 54 years. Needless to say, the past two years have been very stressful for my parents and my immediate family. Due to this, my exercise regiment decreased and my intake food, with a lot of junk, increased...along with more wine than I normally drink. I was so busy trying to make sure my parents were happy and my family was happy that I totally forgot about me.
Due to the stress of the past two years, I put on 30 lbs and I am miserable. I am not looking for a quick fix, but to get myself back to a permanent healthier lifestyle.
About me:
55 years old, soon 56
Married to Dave for a long time
4 children, 1 girl and 3 boys:
2 that are lawyers in San Francisco
1 senior at Colorado School of Mines
The baby is a senior in high school
3 dogs
3 cats
Use to have longhorns and sheep

Machka- Your vacation spot looks fantastic! Were you staying in that little town on the water's edge? Was that the ocean or a lake? I would probably die quickly if I lived in your country, because I would be the adult crawling into that tree's roots or needing to be "in" nature. I am sure some bug or reptile would get me. I also love the older pics of your grandparents! It is wonderful freeze frame of time. AND the pics of you, your mom, and your grandmother?! Boy, does the family resemblance run strong in you three!
We were in the next town over (which you can't see in the photos). It is also on a bay and is located halfway in between the rainforest walk we did and the climb. We stayed in a lovely and quiet resort out there, with a great restaurant! The resort also had a pool and gym, so I rowed, lifted weights and ran on the treadmill at different times.
You do have to watch where you walk or put your hand etc. here.
M in Oz
OK, this is what we climbed ... the town below is called Stanley, and the big thing that sticks out into the ocean is called The Nut. Stanley's Nut. It's apparently the core of a very old volcano.
And from a different angle, with me.

The way I eat and stay active is pretty automatic for me now, but when I first started on MFP, I had to pay much more attention to the decisions I made. That was when I decided that getting healthy was the most important thing in my life. That decision made it possible for me to decline foods that were offered to me. On my first day, I went to a day long meeting. When I got in my friend's car to go, she offered me a bagel and cream cheese that she'd gotten at the coffee shop and I said "no thank you". I brought my own lunch to the meeting and didn't sample the homemade soups and breads that were offered. I ate the dinner I had planned at home and refused a "taste" of what my husband had made for himself. Later that month I decided that I could resign from my positions as the greatest knitter and greatest chocolate chip cookie baker in the world. Instead I would walk more and knit less, and not bake as recreation. I meet my friends for a walk not a meal. I watch TV while riding my exercise bike and listen to podcasts and audio books while walking. Lots of small decisions can add up to a lifestyle that promotes losing weight and staying healthy.
Breakfast is finished. I love sharing my breakfast time with all of you. Now the dogs are waiting to go for their second walk of the day. We love our routine.

Did my writing - mainly about the old TVs. Do you remember 'horizontal hold ' and 'vertical hold'???
And I've been for my run. BEAUTIFUL day out there. Sunshine, and the sea has a gentle swell.
I've had my snack of avocado and wild boar chorizo. The latter is my downfall and what I binged on the other day. That's the last of it gone. Note to self - do not buy any more.
Now to make the brownies. After a nice cup of tea.

Leslie- welcome to the group. I live in Granbury.

Leslie--Welcome--another Texan. We're still fewer than the gals from the Pacific Northwest, but we're catching up. Then again, I don't think I can count myself a Texan yet, since I'm from all over (California, Ohio, North Carolina, Texas.)
Pip--I don't know how you handle those big, soulful eyes. He's such a cutie, and I wouldn't be able to resist giving him treats all the time.
This group seems to be adding people and moving faster than ever. I missed my work-outs yesterday and the day before, even though the weather was gorgeous. My MIL's brother died this morning, after they took him off life support two days ago. She and my FIL planning on traveling to Ohio tomorrow, so the last couple days have been shopping, and running errands to get ready.
I did a lot of shopping at a clearance sale, and got clothes that actually fit me--and some that are still too small. It's motivation to keep going. I love the small things I can do now--like weave through tighter spaces, and walk with a spring in my step. My teeth look better since giving up coffee. I can wear long sleeves and light sweaters, since I'm not overheating all the time. I can sit in the back seat with two others, and not feel like I'm crowding them out.
Yesterday I ruined one of my new tops the first day I wore it. I added bleach to my laundry--being especially careful not to spill it. Then when I was moving the load to the dryer, I must have leaned over the bleach dispenser--ugh! I think I'm going to try to dye it a darker color to save it.
I've been carrying small crochet projects with me. I worked on an infinity scarf for a couple days, and finished it last night. Since we eat out a lot, it helps to keep my hands busy while waiting for a meal, then I'm less tempted to grab a dinner roll.
I'm working on a new morning routine, that includes wake-up, weighing, taking meds and vitamins, and brushing and flossing. My teeth have been neglected since I was letting everything run down. Now it's time to get back into maintaining everything. I also make sure my dishes are always done. I'm going to add in little habits one by one. I plan to either ride my bicycle or walk every day, so I need to get going.

Sharon: I’m pleased at how well you seem to be doing after surgery. I wish you the very best recovery. :flowerforyou:
Meg: I suspect that we got 87 posts in 24 hours because people have made New Year’s Resolutions and they’re trying to get started with a weight loss program. I suspect that some will stay with us and others will go on to something else. I wish them all good luck. :flowerforyou:

Pip: Happy Birthday to Yogi!
Today is the anniversary of Elvis Presley’s birthday. He was only 42 when he died of a heart attack. There was lots of conjecture about drugs as the culprit, but as I understand it, his problem was poor food choices. He was known to love mashed banana and peanut butter sandwiches. They may have been part of the cause of the intestinal blockage that caused his death. Let us all make better food choices today and every day.

Thank you so much for your feeback
You really got me thinking and I've decided to try the following:
1. Follow a 14:10 fasting type of cycle. I barely manage to control my hunger until 10h00 in the morning so must keep myself busy until then.
2. Get back into the 5 day/ week gym routine. I've neglected this for two weeks
3. I've reduced my carbs to 35%. I LOVE carbs and think I need it to feel full.
4. Bought carrots to nibble on and boil some eggs if the cravings become to much.
5. I'm staying on 1350 calorie setting but will eat back 50% of exercise calories.
I had a left foot bunion op last year in March which failed and now I cannot run or walk long distances. Besides that, I cannot bend my foot. I was very active before the op and fell into deep depression for many months afterwards.
Not being able to walk without pain is hard for me.
Sweet dreams. Here in South Africa it's almost bedtime.

That is just the design on the beer stein. I received it when we moved to the coast. I had a card and it was punched by all the craft breweries in the area. Turned it in at the chamber of commerce and got this beer stein as proof that I like beer! 😀

Greetings Ladies -
I am back in the swing of things after what seems like forever. My eating has been all over the place since my Birthday month (last September!!). Periods of good, periods of bad. The 2nd anniversary of my brothers death was yesterday so that has had me in a funk. He was only 53 when he died. The good news is I gained a few needed pounds. I look much better with the (few) extra pounds. I even got some boobs back . The bad news is, along with those few I needed, I kept a few extra. I'm not concerned, I knew what I was doing and decided to just go with it and then reign myself in after the holidays.....which I am doing. It will all work out in the end. If my jeans weren't a little snug, I wouldn't worry about it. But they are, so I will. I am also happier if I am down into the next lower decade on the scale. I think my mind has wrapped itself around the decade I should be in.
The next few days/weeks will be trying. My best friend of 49 year's Mom is dying. I think I may try to get up to see her Thursday when I am off. It is about an 8 hour drive. I'm considering taking funeral clothes with me and just hanging out up there several days. I don't want to be up there and not have clothes if she dies while I am there. When this same friends Dad died, I had gone up to tell him goodbye over the weekend. I got home on Sunday and he died on Tuesday. They postponed the funeral until the following Saturday so I headed back up the following Friday and spent another weekend at home. My Dad was still alive then so I had a ready place to stay and got in lots of good visiting.
Welcome to the new ladies. Hugs to those that need them, prayers for those in need, and Pip's boot for those that need that!
