It will set his recovery back, in a way. We have a Dr's appointment tomorrow morning to find out more but my big concern now is what if this happens when he's by himself. So we've got to consider safety measures like, perhaps, getting a carer back or something.
His medication may also present some issues ... side effects.
So it is potentially a bit of a step back ... and to the side. An unexpected twist.
I'm now looking at first aid courses specialising in epilepsy ... yes, there are some! I've got to renew my basic one first, and then I can go into the speciality courses. I may also see if he can attend the courses too. It might not hurt for him to have some awareness as well.
Today, I went to my uni class first thing in the morning, and to work after ... thus walking 5.5 km. But by 4 pm, I was done ... just exhausted. So I came home early and slept for 1.5 hours. Hopefully that will give me a boost for the rest of the week.

Sharon - Fantastic news! Keep on trucking!
Love Heather UK xxxxxxx2 -
Tracey – your dress is beautiful!
Michele – love the shower things, and no, once a year on washing windows is my limit. I didn't know you were on anti-seizure meds, glad he's tracking you closely.
Tracey – I agree with what Barbara said, check into volunteering and/or employment at some of the nonprofits, as honestly, their budgets don’t allow much in terms of advertising jobs, either, so sometimes it's quite hard to hear about them having open positions. Worth looking at their websites, if they have them.
Kim – Levi looks as if he just got his beautiful hair done at a styling salon, he’s gorgeous! Still thinking about you and your employment situation, as well as Tracey and Allie.
Dana – Yeah, window washing is much like praying for rain everywhere, but I’m OK with it. Don’t mind the water on the outside, it’s the schmutz on the inside! Dolly is lovely.
Sharon – Nice progress! So pleased for you… milestones are a lovely boost to your spirits.
Machka - Yes, I wondered, with your husband just taking his driving test, whether the seizure would impact that, as well. And whether it will make the return-to-work chickie back off a step...
Heather - love the pics of your grands, and especially of you and your DH with your son and all three kids. Your happiness just glows through the lens. So glad you were able to move closer, where those celebrations are easy to attend, and hope some one-on-one time with the grandparents can help your grandson.
Off to the doc this morning to be released from all restrictions. Tremendously pleased with my progress, and tomorrow is just six weeks since the surgery. The knee still heats up and swells with the exercise, but apparently that may last as long as six months, so not unusual. Finding that, if I skip a day in between, I progress better and am less achy and sore. Using the kinetic tape on the surgery scar has done wonders to break up the scar tissue underneath, and it's down to just a thin red line, now, not that I'm vain or anything.
Our son has started the whole "well, that's the last time I'll do that," with things like taking the trash down to be picked up. His father and I each told him separately that we can have him take the trash down for pickup early next Sunday morning, if he likes, before we take him to the plane... Hope this time with us has helped him develop the strength and the attention span he needs to make his way successfully through school. He's capable of doing the work, and the semesters are three months long at community college, rather than five months long as they are at university, so I have hope!
OK, six a.m., time to get an hour or so of work-work done before I'm off to the doc.
Love y'all!

Machka - Yes, I wondered, with your husband just taking his driving test, whether the seizure would impact that, as well. And whether it will make the return-to-work chickie back off a step...
Yes, it certainly does affect his driver's licence. He just got it back and it's gone again. He has to be seizure-free for 6 months before he can get it back. He understands, but was rather upset ... quite understandably.
And you'd think it would make the return-to-work chickie back off ... but nope!
She responded to my email about the seizure with, "so sorry, hope he's OK ... now about work ..." and off she went with all her plans for my husband to return to work, and have his first day on Thursday. She also wants to attend his Dr appointment tomorrow to get the official sign-off on her plan by his Dr.
I responded with an emphatic email explaining that while my husband is enthusiastic about working at the place we've found, the whole plan will likely have to be put back a month or more while he adjusts to the new medication (it's a gradual thing) and to monitor him for further seizures. I've told her that we want a private meeting with the Dr ... because this past weekend was pretty traumatic for both of us ... but that she could join us right at the end to hear his Dr's recommendations.
When I said "seizure" I don't know what she thought I meant, but this was a full-on tonic-clonic seizure (grand mal seizure) and probably the scariest part was when he stopped breathing and turned blue. This wasn't just a little twitch.Heather - love the pics of your grands, and especially of you and your DH with your son and all three kids. Your happiness just glows through the lens. Macha prayers for both you and DH. Sorry you have to stand your ground with chickie. You have enough on your plate without her.

Tracey ... Congratulations on finding your dress!! You are beaming in it ... meant to be!
Machka ... honestly, that work chickie needs slapped ...
Son's housemate ... the young woman who overdosed on pills did not suffer long-term damage it seems. Much to my dismay, she is being discharged from the hospital this week and is apparently being sent back home. This is a huge failure in my opinion on the part of her mental health practitioners. I'm hoping she receives some kind of follow-up care or I envision a repeat.

so here I am, back home, DFIL was beligerant today so nothing got down him.. and Mary might accept another position she can just not handle new office manager, and frankly neither can I, I dread going into work.. it doesn't make it easy, and I am sure Michael(tan man office manager) wouldn't mind to see either of us go.but the place would go in the toilet..people are used to seeing familar faces and if things change , we will lose patients, as it is we are not getting any reviews and this guy has only been there a week.., thank goodness my hours are only 3 days a week, and maybe I can find something for the other 2, to make a little extra.. and have the weekends off..
again putting it in Gods hands.

Tracey - you look great!!! Gorgeous dress!! You look like you are in your 30's Great points about your kids going to technical college, by the way. The push for a 4 or 4+ yr university degree is good, but sometimes folks tend to forget the need for auto/truck mechanics, plumbers, HVAC technicians, truck drivers, heavy equipment operators, engineering, water, and surveying techs. These are high-demand good paying jobs, students don't have to go into much debt and can often gain the needed skills in a one or two year program at a local college or apprenticeship.
Karen in VA - thank you for sharing those photos of Omaha flooding. So sad.... does it normally flood like that or is this the result of the big thaw? Hope we hear from Meg soon.
Vicki - did the doc remove the pre-cancerous polyps while he was doing the colonoscopy? I thought that was the purpose, not just take a "look-see". You might have said and I missed it due to my skimming.
Dana - very cute haircut!! Sorry to hear about Dolly's fear of gunshots. Our older gal was the same way. Even the sound of someone chunking firewood when I have her out in the back yard is enough to have her beg to go back in the house and shiver in the closet. I'm going to look into the calming collar. She has a Thundershirt she wears on July 4th (the whole darn week of banging and booming ) and New Year's eve. It helps a little. I think she has naturally gotten a little better though, she's now 11 and perhaps her hearing isn't that good.
Machka - so sorry to hear of your DH's seizure and now this setback. That return-to-work gal needs more training - or supervision. My question to her would be - if your DH returns to work per her pushing despite this new medical complication, will she/her agency assume liability if he or others are injured while on the job if he has a seizure? Crossing fingers the doc visit goes well and he can find meds with as few side effects as possible.
Michele - our local "soup kitchen" would love to have someone like you in their kitchen - you are such a giving person and love to cook, plus being a budget-wise shopper. I think you'd be perfect for something like that.
Rebecca - sorry to hear you'll have to move already, lucky for you tho you have the packing down to a fine art. Wishing you best of luck in finding a super new place that will fit yours, your DH's and your son's needs.
Sharon - so happy to hear you are closing in on "Onederland" Does your job last until April 15th?
Lisa - great job with the knee progress. That kinetic tape is a neat invention for sure.
Evie - Barbie - Barbara - Sue - Katla and neighbors.... those of us in the Pacific Northwest have major spring fever. I agree, so nice to work and/or just be out in the afternoon sun in a T-shirt. Thermometer said 63 yesterday afternoon and I pruned the grapes. Dug out my shorts for today, lol.
OK better close. Have a great week!

Heather - I just love your group family photo so many huge smiles! My Grandson (7) had some issues like that early this school year. It lasted for a week or two, my daughter took him to the doctor because it was so out of character for him. The doctor suggested they keep him up later at night as he was waking so early in the morning. It seems to have stopped the behaviour.
Kim - thanks for the suggestions, I am going to look into that.
Evelyn - we did have something like that in Alberta that was helpful now it’s not as well run as it was previously. Now when you go to try to get help for any courses you must also have a letter from an employer stating that they will hire you for full time work if you have the course. I have been thinking about going in to see if there are any new things though that I’m not aware of.
We live in one of those places that had a DIYer that thought she knew lots. We shake our head a lot!
Barbie - isn’t it amazing how so many others think they know what is best for you. I find it’s usually the people that could use some different habits that are the most vocal.
Beth - oh the things our husbands get us into!
Michele - lovely items for the shower. I hope you get to enjoy it!
Lisa - you have healed well indeed. My future son in law’s Mom has knee replacement a few years ago and didn’t heal as well, he thinks she didn’t do her PT like she should have.
Beth - how terrible that they are sending her home so soon. I feel so much more needs to be done for Mental Health issues.
Thank you all so much for the compliments on the dress. I am so happy I found it. I was nervous. Now everyone but the Mother if the Groom, my husband and the ring eaters are dressed for the wedding. My daughter wants all neutral colours. The bridal party is wearing biscotti and the grooms party is wearing grey.
Time is going fast, the time will be here before we know it!
Well I’m off to get dressed and go for my interview that was postponed on Friday. I have reviewed my notes from last week and plan on going in with confidence.

Evelyn: I enjoyed the riding lesson even though I did little correctly. It was a beautiful day and great to be out in the sunshine. My teacher is planning on a trail ride next time—whenever that turns out to be. I hope the weather cooperates. I’ve been very lucky-- I get to ride & to learn but I don’t have the worry about caring for a horse because I don’t own one.
Snowflake: Beautiful dress. You look great.
Michele: Funny! “Allie – you do know how the Irish jig came to be, don’t you?????????? Too much beer and not enough bathrooms”
Barbara: The beach parachute yoga looks like wonderful fun. The “parachutes” at my gym are fastened to hooks in the ceiling and the students hang onto them while doing whatever stretching they are asked to do. I am not inclined to try because I enjoy my own class so much and would rather take it than something else. I don’t want to try to do both classes. I leave DH home on his own often enough for yoga classes and horseback riding. :noway: Loved the bucking mustang video. Thanks for sharing! :flowerforyou:
Sharon: It sounds as though you’re making great progress. Keep up the good work and onederland will be yours!
Lisa: I hope your visit to the doctor was great.
Machka: Prayers for you and DH. In your place I would file a complaint against the intrusive worker and request a transfer to someone else. It would be best if your DH made the request, personally.
Allie: Good luck at the workplace.
I am hoping for a yoga class today, but I’ve got to check to be sure. My teacher said she has a conflict coming up. Today might be that day. I think I’ll use the exercise room even if yoga is cancelled for today. We’ll see. DH had a terrible night last night. He ate something his body couldn’t deal with and was up and down all night. I slept in the other bedroom at his request.

After loads of emailing backwards and forwards we now have a schedule for dates with the kids. Max is coming on Sunday for some one on one time.😀 Life is so complicated it all takes some arranging.
Just paid a bill for electric work that had gone astray. It dated back to November! She had sent it to a slightly wrong email address. Oooops.
I agree Lanette. Really good money to be made from trades and you can run your own business or go into property development. I love tradesmen.
My old yoga friend is coming to see me by train next Monday. Hooray! Hooray!
DH went out for lunch and is back now. His friend's daughter had a dreadful time with her first born son who had a metabolic syndrome and died two years ago. She is now expecting twins. (She has a daughter) It only affects boys and she has learned there is a 1% chance the boy twin has it. She is going for an amniocentesis. I really, really hope he is ok. It was terrible for the family.
Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxx4 -
Greetings all,
Many thanks for the warm welcomes. I'm not too consistent with social media, so it's been a few days since I last checked in. I will apologize in advance for not writing lots of posts and/or making individual replies. Please know I am here occasionally and reading your posts. To those who are struggling with ill family members, job losses/changes, or other challenges, I am so sorry. I wish you strength, fortitude and to be surrounded by kind, loving people who can help you.
Happy Monday - may we all have a beautiful week.

*ack* my 3 chosen homes were all rented by the time I called this morning! We have tours today and tomorrow though. My ultimate take my breath away home had tenants on the lower floor. Not going to work.
Oh on Saturday afternoon my youngest Navy son texted my husband! Then we texted for a couple minutes. Its amazing how just seeing words on a page made me cry! This was his post:
His words: "Life's going pretty well. Getting into the groove of things and finding that most of the training exercises aren't during my watch (turns out people don't like to get up between 0000-0600). We hit Malaysia a bit ago, Kota Kinabalu, and that was...moderately fun? Lot of restrictions and the like, especially on just what we could say, and that was pretty annoying. Pretty place, in a passing sort of way, if you just ignored the open air sewers and drainage. Playing my games, having fun getting movies; had to finally buy an external hard drive for the stuff. My Steam rebelled at me though, won't let me log on without internet (Not even an offline log on) so I need to figure that out at the next port. How are you guys doing"?
My son sounds like he is acclimating to ship life. I have yet to get any pics from him, or cards or letters. But I do get a text now and then, and that will have to do, least for a month or two.

Tracey: That dress looks great on you. Good choice!
Lisa: Proud of your 'can do' spirit.
Machka: Your DH and you remain in my prayers and meditations. I'm in awe of how you handle it ALL.
Painting of the living room is progressing today. Reuben works mornings here, then afternoon/evenings at a school. So, it will take more days to finish, but we are not in any mad rush. Yesterday was his birthday, so we gave him some lottery scratchers in a card. He won $26, and used $20 to buy more scratchers, which he parlayed into $150. I am getting a huge kick out of this because it seems every time I gift someone scratchers, the recipent makes out well.
Grape hyacinths that I impetuously planted in a pot last fall are popping up! Yay for the first signs of spring.
Stay well. We can do this.

Lanette: We have a Thundershirt for our dog, too. It helps but not enough to cope with the 4th of July festivities across the river in Washington. That is why we left town for the whole week last year. We may be doing it again this year if we can’t follow our travel plans to see the kids. From the looks of roads across the country, it may be difficult to drive the RV and get there. :ohwell:
Heather: I hope you enjoy your time with your old yoga friend.
Pip: Happy 2550!
Rori: I am glad that you are smiling. :flowerforyou:
I was able to take yoga today! Yay!!! There should be a class on Thursday from the other teacher. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. After that we may be having some time off while our teacher travels. DH had a difficult night last night and is sleeping right now. Our travel plans to see the kids are currently in llimbo. He has a colonoscopy scheduled in April. I hope it leads to eating strategies that are easier and more pleasant for him and don’t end in misery.

Did one segment of 10MS Pilates DVD then took the extremepump class. The plan for tomorrow is to do a DVD on the bosu.
Okie – I thought about what you said about “why drag out the Newcomer saga”. Well, I thought “why couldn’t I do it in an email?” So I’ve composed something that I’ll send to Adra (the current webmaster to my knowledge). I just want Vince to review it first. Then I have every intention of sending it out. Also, this is good for me because I am very passionate about what I do, and I’m the type who just might get choked up. So in an email I can say what I want. So it’s ready to go, just needs to be reviewed.
Lisa – I never thought about how M’s husband’s seizure will affect the “back to work” gal, but you’re so right! Update: You’re kidding!!! That return-to-work gal is still being her usual pain!!! Does she plan to drive him to work??? I wouldn’t be surprised that she’s thinking that he can get a job at someplace within walking distance of your home, even if it’s just a fast food restaurant where he can clean the bathrooms. Like that should happen!
Barbie and everyone else who commented on the shower favors: They’re probably not what Maria wants. But that’s too bad, now isn’t it? She doesn’t want something homemade, something that you put thought and caring into, she wants something that you buy. I tell you, for Denise’s wedding shower she bought these mirrors as a gift (even tho I was making them). Even Denise said “ma, they’re only mirrors”. You have no idea how many were left behind. I made 24 favors. All but 4 were taken home. I remember that for my wedding shower Helen bought these mirrors as a favor. I didn’t want a shower…she only gave it to me so that she could invite her friends hoping that I’d feel guilty enough to invite (and pay) for them to come to the wedding. It didn’t happen. Anyway, in over 40 years of marriage, I have never once used that mirror.
I just realized that the reason she didn’t give me a baby shower was because of the “way I treated her at the wedding”. To me, she wasn’t my mother. My godmother (who is my mother’s only full sister) was more like a mother to me that she ever was. I only invited Helen because of my father. She felt that she should be treated like mother-of-the-bride. Well, that’s in the past. I found out that my father who was really, really religious (we’re talking going to mass every day) was actually thinking of divorcing her and the only reason he didn’t was because if he did, then she’d get half of everything. She was probably thinking that women outlive men and then she’d get everything. Ha Ha Ha…my father fooled her. He outlived two wives!!!
In the words of The Who “I’m free, I am free”. I sent that email to Adra to say that I have enjoyed membership in the past but lately I have not so I think she needs to find someone else to do it. However, I will not leave her and the new president high and dry. I also sent Adra another email saying that it might be a good idea to meet with the new president (and perhaps the new vice-president) to explain the procedure for membership. Now we shall see. But “I’m free, I am free” Wouldn’t surprise me if Greg does it. But I don’t really care, as long as it isn’t me
Allie – let’s hope that Mary does accept that position. That might make more work for you (I somehow don’t think so, tho. You’ve been doing everything as it is)
Glad I made people smile with “how the Irish jig came to be”
Janetr – water can be real bad. What pictures!
Michele in NC
Who wouldn’t be a bit surprised if she had Greg and herself (Adra) talk to the new Newcomer president. Well, not my problem. Poor woman won’t be getting the whole story

Sorry to hear that about your husband. You may want to consider putting him on the keto diet. It was first used for people with epilepsy. My cousin has had epilepsy since birth and since he has been on the keto diet has not had an epileptic seizure for over a decade. There are also a couple other people I know that have epileptic seizures that run in their family and the keto diet has saved their lives! You might want to research it!

I made a Diaper Duty Kit for Pete. This is what it contains. Everything is in a tool box.
Your diaper kit contains:
Marbles – to replace the ones you lost
Toothpicks – to help keep your eyes open
Rubber Band – to help you stay flexible
Eraser – to remind you that all parents make mistakes
Tootsie Roll – to remind you to roll with the punches
Acetimophen – when all else fails – take two
Hand Sanitizer
Diaper Disposal Bags
Tongs – for disposing of the diaper
Rubber Gloves
Face Mask
Baby Wipes
Goggles – for explosive diapers
Clothespin – to hold your nose closed while changing dirty diapers
Shiny Penny – you are going to need a lot of these before baby is grown
Since she's having a boy, I was thinking of getting a rubber apron. But he's really not the brightest crayon in the box and he probably wouldn't understand why he was getting it.

Machka – Sorry to hear about your husband’s seizures, but glad that you were there and knew how to handle it. Thanks for the reminder – my CPR/AED certification needs to be updated.
Vicki – I’m with the other ladies. I don’t think I’d want to wait 5 years for a re-check. When my pre-cancerous lesions were found, the doctor had me in for outpatient surgery within a couple of months. Different type of cancer, but still I’d think they’d want to keep a closer eye on it.
Tracey – beautiful dress!
I’m sure I missed a lot of others but just skimming to try to get caught up. I spent some time with my dad on Saturday. He’s home but on oxygen – calls it his “leash”. His levels keep fluctuating too much – they’re fine while he’s sitting but as soon as he starts to move around they drop again. He’s mostly over the pneumonia at least, just very weak. And he’s getting frustrated with the whole thing – he’s tired of being sick. Apparently the chemo regimen that he was on is probably what caused the pneumonia. The way his doctor explained it, the chemo causes his own immune system to target the cancer cells in his lungs (and it’s working) but it leaves him open to any other type of lung infection. The doctor had seen 4 other patients last week that are on this chemo and also came down with pneumonia. Dad’s optimistic though that once he kicks the pneumonia and can get off his “leash”, he can get his strength back. He’s tired of sitting around the house.
