03/27 - 270.8 - SO FLIPPIN HAPPY. I cannot wait until I am 269 because that will mean that I have LESS than 100lbs to lose!!!! I'll finally be in the double digits and that's super exciting. Hope I can steadily get there for the end of this round.

3/24 - did not weigh or track, "officially" joining challenge 3/25
3/25 -150.1. Wins yesterday - hour long dog walk, 90 min Bikram hot yoga class. Lots of water, coming off a lot of travel it was needed. Goals for today: tracking my food, exercise, drink lots of water. Do my best not to binge eat as I'm in a moment of high anxiety and my eating habits are really bad at times like these. Trying to be very conscious of this today.
3/26 - 148.8. Wins yesterday - 4 mile run, 45 min dog walk. Hydrated well. Tracked food. Didn't binge even though I was very stressed. Ended up over my calorie goal but it wasn't full-on bingeing like I'm known to do. Calling that a win.
3/27 - 148.8. Same as yesterday. Wins - did a tough HIIT class, drank a lot of water, tracked my food, slept well. What I didn’t do well - gave in to a sweets craving at night and went too far over calorie target. I wasn’t hungry, just wanted to eat. Will try to push through those cravings today.
3/28 - 147.3. Big drop! I know it's water weight but it was so nice to see! Had a lot of wins yesterday. Did a weight circuit with a sprinting finisher, drank a lot of water. Tracked all food and hit my calorie goal. I tend to eat way too much on days I work from home, but yesterday I didn't do that. Didn't get a great night's sleep last night so hoping I don't fall trap to being tired and making poor decisions. Plus I will be eating out twice today which is not normal at all - team lunch at work, and my parents are taking us to dinner for my husband's birthday (which is Saturday). Goal is to make good decisions at both of these meals and not overstuff myself.
3/29 - 146.6. Surprised by this! Wins yesterday - 45 min cycle class and a long dog walk. Drank a lot of water. Tracked food as best I could. Ate out twice yesterday so I couldn’t track easily but found equivalents that I hoped were close enough. I assumed sodium in restaurant meals would cause a gain so I’m pleasantly surprised at this number. I made good choices at the restaurants which is not my norm! Did not sleep well again last night so today’s challenge will be to stay strong and not let being tired win over good choices.
3/30 - 145.3. What?? I don’t know how I’m getting these big drops, I guess I had a lot of water weight to lose? Expecting this to stop soon. TOM is coming next week so I’m psyching myself up to not be disappointed if these numbers trend higher in the coming days. Wins yesterday: drank a lot of water, hour long dog walk, tracked all food. Successfully avoided alcohol and junk food at my neighbors’ while watching basketball (gotta love any time UNC loses 😉). Today will be challenging as I got no sleep last night at all (I typically get insomnia a few days before TOM so not abnormal), and it is my husband’s birthday. Those could lead to some unhealthy choices.
3/31 -145.5. Was expecting much higher so I’ll take it. Wins yesterday - HIIT class and a dog walk. Made sure to eat my greens prior to dessert. I did not drink enough water and I overindulged a bit, ate mostly healthy foods but portions were bigger due to having friends over for my husband’s birthday. And naturally had dessert. Still not sleeping well, and we are going out to eat tonight. Goals for today are to drink way more water, get some sort of exercise, and keep the rest of my food on point so the restaurant meal doesn’t weigh me down too much. And hopefully get a good nights sleep soon! TOM starts Tuesday, ready to get past that and sleep again.
4/1 - 145.9. Not unexpected. Ate at a restaurant for dinner so it was heavier (and probably saltier) than my usual meals. Wins yesterday - bodycombat class, long dog walk, hydrated well. Ate heavier than I should. Still very tired and have a stressful couple of days this week. Goal today is to not give in to the stress and stay on track.

03/24 – 186.3 – after the last two rounds of very little loss, this was awesome. I just have to keep going even when the scales go up and down.
03/25 – 186.3 – happy with this after have a couple beers yesterday. Still stayed below my calories though.
03/26 – no scale – didn’t eat well and had a couple glasses of wine but recorded everything.
03/27 – 186.5 – I’m ok with this after being out of town for the past couple days. I need to exercise.
03/28 – 186.5 – Did a 3-mile walk yesterday. 😊
03/29 – 185.4 – Yes! I did another 3-mile walk. I’ve been logging all my food, not drinking much alcohol, and drinking all my water, but adding in the exercise has been great!
03/30 0 185.0 – So excited! Hopefully it will stay off. If I could get into the 184s by tomorrow, that would be awesome. Recorded all food, no alcohol, and drank all my water.
03/31 – 185.8 – I figured this, ate out last night and went over my salt goal. I will take a walk today. Hopefully tomorrow it will be gone.
04/01 – 185.6 – Actually I’m good with this. Weighing everyday has its ups and downs, but if the scale stays on a downward trend overall, it’s good. I have time to take a nice long walk today. Looking to end this round with a nice loss.

03/25 – 140.5 – Holding steady after the weekend is unusual for me. No complaints!
03/26 – 140 – I’ve got some health issues right now, so I’m not sure if this drop over the past week is due to my diet or not.
03/27 – 140.5 – I’m OK holding here, I’ve been trying to up my calories a little without eating extra carbs.

03/24: 192.6 - I started out this round with a loss from yesterday! Yesterday was also our 16 year anniversary, we went out and neither of us felt like drinking. Probably saved myself a ton of calories. Hope this loss sticks
03/25: 191.6 - I'm really liking this trend and I hope it sticks around! TOM is almost over so this is a little expected.
03/26: 190.6 - The weight on my drivers license is no longer a lie! This makes me even more motivated to stay on track!!
03/27: 190.6 - I'm surprised. Didn't drink very much water yesterday and had spaghetti for dinner. I stayed within my calories though. I think I'm finally getting the "everything in moderation".
03/28: 190.4 - I'm happy with that.
03/29: 189.2 - I made it into the 180's! I liked seeing that number. Now, just gotta avoid an increase lol

04/01 - 156.1 - Well, I somehow didn't gain any weight over the weekend. Still trying to recover from this sinus infection/cold thing I have. Not sleeping well. Stomach acting up until Saturday. Have NOT been on my water (like 16oz bottle water is my max this weekend) and haven't tracked any foods. Sodium is high, I'm absolutely sure of it. Today, hopefully, I can get back to tracking and drinking water like I should and see a little more of a drop for the final day of this round.

First round! I'd like to track 10,000 steps a day on my Fitbit, go to the gym on the days I have it on my schedule, and average a little under my calorie goals to help fit in any unexpected treats/beers. A 2lb loss would be great!

03/24 191.0 lb Pretty pleased! I had homemade pizza and beer last night and had expected a bump on the scale. I'm going out for dinner tonight, so we'll see what happens tomorrow.
03/25 192.2 lb Dinner last night was Chinese food and beer, so nothing unexpected here and I'm not planning on eating out again until the weekend. I walked 10,487 steps yesterday and drank a decent amount of water.
03/26 191.4 lb I had one extra beer that put me a little over calories. 12,557 steps were tracked yesterday and I have a workout scheduled for today.
03/27 191.4 lb My boyfriend "made" dinner last night and got us steak and cheese subs. They were delicious and mostly fit my calorie goals. I also had a 2.5 hour board meeting that had free beer and I had two boozy IPAs. I knew there would be beer, so I didn't snack very much in the afternoon to fit them in. I walked 11,638 steps and did one round of level one from the 30 Day Shred. I'm either going to go to the gym this afternoon or doing another 30 Day Shred. I need to drink more water!
03/28 189.4 lb Crushed my calorie goals. We had trivia night and I ate dinner beforehand so I wouldn't be tempted to get bar food. I burned 350 calories on the elliptical at the gym and tracked 16,643 steps. I had an extra cup of tea and a full water bottle to help get more water in. I've got a fundraiser event tonight with a build-your-own taco bar, so I have good choices planned in my food diary today to fit in a few tacos for dinner.
03/29 189.4 lb I had a taco and nachos for dinner, so I'll keep hydrated today to combat the sodium. 13,208 steps were tracked and I only had two beers even though the fundraiser was hosted by a taproom. I have the gym/fitness DVD scheduled for this afternoon and I'm going out for dinner, so I hope to keep steady for the next few days.
03/30 188.0 lb I missed my workout due to an unanticipated rehearsal for a local high school's production of Chicago. I'm going to try to workout this morning at home. I did track 12,104 steps and enjoyed a great salad with steak on top for dinner.
03/31 189.6 lb The cold that has been going around school finally caught up with me. If I had my choice, I would have camped out on the couch all day. I did manage to track 10,354 steps and that was largely from the dog insisting on being walked in the nice weather. My calories look good in my diary, but I couldn't get a firm number on how many calories are actually in salmon, so I'm pretty sure I went over. We're heading up to the city for PAX East this afternoon and will be eating dinner there. I'm hoping to not see a gain tomorrow, but I won't be surprised if it's a little higher than today.
04/01 189.6 lb TOM is on the horizon. I tracked 14,905 steps yesterday, made pretty good choices for dinner, and drank an good amount of water. I'm looking forward to a busy week with rehearsals tonight, tomorrow, and Wednesday and performances Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for the local high school's spring musical, Chicago.

03/25 174.8 Yesterday was a pretty good day. Even if the morning was jam packed. I did manage to squeeze in a short cardio workout. We did go out to eat after pictures so I'm guessing that's what this little bump back up is about. My son says "We're eating out again!? Why can't we just eat at home?" It made me laugh! We don't eat out often and we've managed to do it three times in one week. And it made me feel kind of good that he'd rather eat at home. 😊

03/24 205.5 Had barn day yesterday. Put in almost 13k steps but probably negated it with Mexican lunch and a huge margarita. Need to start daily bike riding or walking again.
03/25 DNW I was running late this morning (on purpose) and was dressed before I realized I hadn’t weighed in. Need to track, track, track to get myself back in the habit.

03/27 209.5 Let's try this again. I had already posted for today but apparently my Dad's laptop has a mind of it's own and I lost it all. I weighed in this morning in my work uniform. It was just easier than zooming downstairs in my skivvies and then going back up to get ready for work. It'll even itself out as I get into a routine. I am still not logging 100% of what I put in my mouth but I am always a work-in-progress.
03/28 207.? So I use a Fitbit Aria scale and I noticed that it did not sync my weight from this morning. But I swear I saw 207 something so I'll take that. Last night I did get OUTSIDE for a 1-mile walk. It felt GREAT to be outside and I cannot wait to do it again. It's supposed to be warmer today but I think it's going to rain. Boo! I did better on my tracking until I grabbed that cookie on my way up to bed. Grandma being at our house has REALLY stressed me out. She does NOT shut up while we sit quietly and watch evening television. Unfortunately, my ability to just tolerate or tune her out has decreased enough that I just want to lash out at her and then it gets ugly. Then all I want to do is eat! Ugh! #FamilyProblems
03/29 - 207.3 Thursday I went outside and walked again after dinner out with my girlfriends. It felt GREAT to be outside. I'm really looking forward to warm weather. My knee was pretty upset with me but I'm going to start small and build up. No running!
03/30 208.6 I actually ate a full sleeve of thin mints the past 2 days so thank goodness those are all gone. The sushi that I had on Thursday night usually causes water retention so I'm okay with the gain. No walking Friday night. It was raining after work and honestly I was in bed by 7pm and OUT!! Woke up at 1am, turned off my bedroom lights, and went back to sleep.
03/31 208.2 Saturday was barn day. We have our first show next week (Thurs to Sun). I rode Spark and Lego since I am showing both of them. Then we had our friend Mary (who is a yoga instructor) come to the barn and we all did an hour of yoga. I didn't eat the best but I did a ton of exercise so hopefully that evens things out.
04/01 207.6 Sunday was a very LAZY day. No exercise. Hardly any tracking. Mostly sleeping and heating pad. I woke up pretty sore (back) and just didn't feel like doing anything. I didn't even watch the NCAA basketball games. I have 3 LONG days at work this week and then "move in" at the horse show Wednesday night. I have 2 horses to show so I'm sure my Fitbit will get plenty of steps to record and I'll probably get very little sleep. My goal is to weigh less on Monday morning. It is possible.

03/24 - 166.8 - did w1d1 of c25k for the 2nd time ( repeating 1st week to avoid moving too fast).
03/25 - 167.8 - Gained from the day before as I had a little too much fun for Sunday Funday woke up early for a short Core workout and walked 35 min on my lunch break. PM workout included some more core strength workout using a Noelle Benepe circuit (check her out on Instagram) and a 20 min cardio video
03/26 - 166.4 - have to go home on my lunch break so no walk at lunch time today. Plan to do W1D2 of C25k this evening. It is a beautiful sunny spring day. Chilly, but sunny. Will also do another round of NB's core strength workout. I am working on my core to improve my balance in the tack (horseback riding...dressage).
03/27 - 165.8 - did what I said I would yesterday so thats good. W1D2 was repeated although it was tough because I didn't have my correct running shoes on. Again no walk on lunch break today because I had to go home. Will walk tonight 30 min and do a lot of stretching. Have bursitis in my hip that is flaring up so need to do some hip stretches. Had leftover porkchops and rice from dinner last night so had that for a very filling, low calorie lunch...under 300 cal...followed by a brownie LOL oops. It was worth it though.
03/28 - 166.2 - Pilates stretch routine in the AM and a 45 minute dressage lesson after work.
03/29 - 165.2 - that lesson kicked my butt last night and feeling it in my legs. Repeat W1D3 of C25k after work today. Legs were killing but got it done.
03/30 - 165.4 - the 2 beers i had last night didn't mess my weight up too much. No exercise today. Instead, went sea glass hunting w/ my sister nephew & mom. Gorgeous 70+ degree Spring day to spend out on the beach.
03/31 - 164.6 - arm workout this morning and then ate too much for lunch today. went for a 30 min walk with our dogs afterward

04/01139.2 I was planning to keep posting but I decided to take some time off of calorie counting and dieting, i have still been exercising but I just needed a mental break because it can be mentally exhausting, especially since this is the first break I have had since last year. I was still mindful so although the slight hike, I am happy I was able to somewhat maintain. Its april 1st and i have two month till summer is in full swing and i want to drop these last 10 pounds

03/24 - No Scale (driving back from Vegas today without a weigh in this morning. I went to bed last night (or this morning) at 445am and I’m exhausted! Friday and Saturday I walked 25000 steps EACH day and I’m not sure how I still have feet! I count those two days as active so I hope the scale isn’t too bad tomorrow morning with all the food I had.)
03/25 - 200.6 (I'm happy I only gained a whole pound during my weekend away, which is a first for me. I usually gain around 5 pounds! All that walking truly helped. Last night I took naps and relaxed so I'm able to wake up to go to work so I did not do a workout. I had some Mandarin chicken, rice and broccoli for dinner last night.)
03/26 -199.4 (I officially lost all the weight I gained from my weekend getaway and it only took a day Last night I did a 20 minute elliptical HIIT workout. I was supposed to do a core workout last night too, but I was too busy grocery shopping, making dinner and helping the hubby study for his macroeconomics test that's due this week. I made some Philly cheesesteak pitas with chips for dinner last night!)
03/27 - 198.6 (The scale is going in the right direction! I've been having issues with a canker sore that has really been painful and difficult to eat. I stayed on target last night with my calories even though I really didn't want to eat since it's the side that I usually put food at. It really is difficult to eat on the other side! I made pasta with sauce and a poppyseed chicken casserole. I also did a 45 minute elliptical workout. It was difficult to push through yesterday!)
03/28 -198.2 (I had a great day yesterday! Ate on my plan and had some relaxation for the middle of the week. I did a core workout that I was supposed to do on Monday and had dinner ready in the crockpot. I made some chicken tacos with black beans. I'm hoping tomorrow I can make my goal since I'm so close!)
03/29 - 197.0 (TGIF!! Amirite?!? I made my goal!!! My Happy Scale finally looked happy and I am so excited to get going on my next goal! Usually I weigh less every Friday so I hope I still have a lower weight on Tuesday, which may be an issue from weekend weight gain. We'll see how it goes! Last night, I was stuck in the middle of the high desert in SoCal coming home from work because of a huge accident that blocked the road. I didn't have time to make the dinner I had planned. My hubby went to Subway and got me a sandwich and I shortened my workout from 45 minutes to 20. At least I got something in!)
03/30 - 197.0 (I ate so much last night on date night with the hubby, but I planned it out! Half a burger and fries, chips and salsa and half dessert. I opted for water so I don’t drink my calories too. No workout last night since I was exhausted from a long week. I’m so happy seeing this number again!)
03/31 -199.0 (I went to a LA Dodgers game last night (Woohoo for that win!) and I had quite a few treats last night, but all planned and did a 30 minute strength training workout during the day. I had an unplanned glass of wine last night with my girlfriends since one of their moms passed away yesterday morning...it's not an easy thing for a 25 year old to go through. I'm still at a deficit which is good! It's almost the end of the challenge, so I hope it ends up being a great result!)
04/01 - 198.6 (Yesterday was a very successful day for me. I had a 45 minute elliptical workout and ate some asparagus, roasted potatoes and a pork chop for dinner last night. I had a deficit yesterday and weighed in 2 pounds less than last Sunday. We'll see if I can make the goal by tomorrow even though I already made it in Happy Scale and I'm moving toward my next goal )

The bad news - I'm not dropping the weight I regained Nov-March. The good news - I'm averaging more calories than seems possible and seem to have hit a balance point, suggesting that my metabolism is faster from regular exercise + a little more muscle. So I'm working at cutting my calories a bit, but also feel pretty optimistic that I''ll drop the weight when the weather settles into "lovely outside" and I get back to my long walks, some hikes, and putting in a new perennial+annuals garden (we moved in a year ago May and our backyard is a blank slate). I still have some pain and stiffness from PMR, but feel MUCH better than I did all last summer and fall. I have to get blood work next week to check my inflammation levels again, but can't help but think they're down since I feel so much better. I see a new rheumatologist April 8, which should be interesting. I'm still determined not to take prednisone, at least not long term. So now I'm off to the gym and then to look for paint to paint a garden bench. Thinking some luscious shade of violet. Have a lovely weekend, friends! Oh - and look who has moved into my front porch! House finches.

Yesterday was a good day food wise, though I did skip the gym. But I went shopping (rare for me) and walked quite a bit. I'm getting back to tracking my 10-day calorie average, which served me well before and, like weight trends, makes more sense than daily numbers. I just joined a walking/hiking challenge run by our city & county parks, local land trust, and a couple other organizations - hike 10 of 14 designated trails and earn a thingy to fasten to a walking stick or wherever. I'm going to try to get in all of last year's trails as well, plus I'm challenging myself to hike at least one day at each of most of our beautiful state parks (I figure since some are a pretty good drive, those will be two-dayers!). This round may be a wash (again), but next round! Yeah, baby! So happy to see Spring, even if today is gloomy rainy. Happy weekend, all!

We moved in last spring and inherited rather dull paint colors (I am not a beige person) and I'm really starting to burn to paint rooms. I saw a pic last night of a bathroom painted a GORGEOUS shade of red violet. Oooooh! But I've also been thinking tangerine. Something happy to wake me up in the morning!
