Good morning all! Trentin just arrived and is hopefully falling back to sleep on the couch. Today is his eighth birthday and he is spending it with me (poor kid). His mom is working a looong shift (until 9 tonight) but has a two hour dinner break (between clients), so she will be picking him up at 4pm and taking him to dinner and bringing him back around 5:30. I figure he is going to have to go with me to the store for groceries, but I will let him pick out something special to play with. We will stop at the library (our usual Saturday routine) and I will give him a few extra minutes on the computers and let him pick out a couple of movies. Then my plan is to take him to the local chocolatier's shop and let him watch them make chocolates and pick out a couple of pieces. I have stuff for s'mores, so maybe we will have a fire tonight and he can roast marshmallows and have a s'more or two.
Ginger- Big family! My mother was also one of eleven, my father one of seven. My childhood home was the "family" home and all gatherings/holidays were celebrated there. My parents passed away in '93 and the family gatherings stopped. They were the glue. I love your fairy lamp!
Heather- Hugs to you as you remember your baby, Kate. I have not experienced this kind of loss; but my heart just aches for you. Edie and Bea are truly a blessing (as is Max, I am sure)! I think the thing I love most about being a grandmother, is being able to be the "fun" grown up. To NOT have to be the enforcer, or rule maker, schedule keeper, etc. I had that role with my own kids (and now my daycare kids). It is nice to just have fun with them.
Rori- thinking of you and your boot! I hated wearing my soft boot when I pulled my knee ligaments. Hated it. It itched. It made me walk weird. It felt constrictive. Then I watched little Stella, a 18 month old in my care, when she fractured her leg. She had the same type of boot as you and for two weeks she scooted around on her bottom with her leg held in the air (strong core muscles), then she developed a very pirate-y peg leg hobble and was soon running around with the others. I wish we had the resilience of children. It would make life so much easier.
It has taken me two hours to write this little bit! Tim was awake, already when I woke up, and had an emergency (he spilled a glass of water on his computer keyboard). Then, as he was in a bad mood because of the spill, he came upstairs and started b****ing about the windows being open. I will admit, it is chilly; but I like the smell of the fresh air and the sound of the birds. So I closed the windows to appease the beast. Then he wanted to talk. *sigh
So...two hours later....I will catch up with you ladies later, as it is now time to get on with my day. ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Kelly Actually, I think spending my 8th birthday with Miss Kelly would be enchanting and wonderful. Starts out with a nice nap, then breakfast, a trip to the grocery store to pick out a toy, on to the library to get books & movies & play on the computer, then to the chocolate shop to watch candy being made. Exit said store with candy of my own. Back to Miss Kelly's to play with my new toy, watch movies, maybe another nap, & then supper with Mom. Lots to tell Mom about the day so far, make her smile. Then back to Miss Kelly's for more movies & stuff & finally a fire and S'mores. Pure Magic. A birthday to remember with fondness.

Barbara: I’m still finding bugs in my window after two doses. It appears that only one rug us bug ridden. I’ve used all my spray and have more coming. :grumble: I agree with your opinion about the cat killer being brought back as every cat he ever killed.
Elizabeth: It sounds like you’ve made a good decision on your diet goal. I hope you’ll continue to join us. :flowerforyou:
Heather: Your happy day sounds delightful.
Rebecca: Lovely pantry!!!
Allie: congratulations for the improvements in your DFIL! I hope they last a while.
(((Ginger)))
Sharon: My first cat was half Siamese and half travelling salesman. She had the shape and intelligence of a Siamese but was black with yellow eyes. She was genius level smart. I still miss her.
Lisa: Women doctors are Usually the best, in our experience. Our primary care doctor is a great example of awesome.
Pip: Happy Birthday to Floyd!
I have a horsey event today, although no horses are likely to be there. We’re working toward creating a rest area for horses on their way to the coast. This is on county owned land and we’re hoping for support & donations toward building a corral where horses can rest and stretch tier legs.

Pip- Happy Birthday to Floyd
Allie - I am so happy to hear about your DFIN! I hate the side effects of medicine sometimes. I hope you are able to enjoy your time visiting with him.
Kettlebell Workout
Goblet squats-3X5X40
Russian kettle bell swing-13 X7X40
I wasn’t quite ready to increase to my 45 pound kettle bell so I am doing another go round with my 40 pound. I need to build up some strength in my neck and shoulder area before I increase the weight. 5 pounds makes a huge difference!! I do a four week routine.
Have a great weekend ladies!! And Happy Mother’s Day to all that are Celebrating

Sharon--One thing I have learned as I lose weight. I ate to cover my feelings. I was so angry for not being able to eat my feelings and have done a lot of praying about it.
Tracey--Sorry to hear about your friend.
Lisa--Very nice family picture. I am only 5-2 and most my grandchildren are getting taller then I am.
Rebecca--Looks to me like you are getting settled in.
Allison--Blessings about DFI. Each day is a gift at this point.
Ginger--I have been having a lot of stuggles this last month. A lot of deep breathing and prayers to keep going.
Lisa-Glad to hear the doctor listened to you and I pray you get healed fast.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FLOYD!!
Well it is my 10 hour day and not a lot going on so got caught up on what is going on here and now to work on getting some pictures written on. I want to keep that done up as I love my pictures.

Lisa - My stepdaughter rang DH today and she has a similar problem to yours, except hers follows an operation. She is thoroughly miserable. She also has awful noisy neighbours upstairs which are driving her crazy. Poor DH feels a bit impotent to help, but, of course, we offered her respite down here. She is desperate to sell her apartment, but so far no luck. I hope all the investigations sort something out for you. It's the small things that can get you down. They become all consuming.
I cooked a delicious shoulder of pork stew this evening in Normandy cider. Leeks, carrots, celery, smoky bacon, onions, garlic. I always used to cook something similar on holiday in France, but I so rarely see the Normandy cider for sale. We have enough for another day. Hooray! I had mine with kale and added a jacket potato for DH.
DH got caught in a heavy downpour this afternoon, but it is looking good for our lunch and walk tomorrow.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxx2 -
Felicia you remind me of my first (and only) cross country ski lesson. Nobody get hurt cross country right? It's just like walking, right? Well the snow was Icy, I fell hard and couldn't put any weight on my right hand/arm. The rest of the class was already seated on the next bunny slope eating their lunch. I'm sure they could see me, I could see them, looking like cows chewing their cuds. Was finally able to wedge my ski pole between my left arm and side, roll to the left and lever myself upright. About then, my BFF came down and said "Do you need any help?" "Take these damn things off me!!!" Thought I'd just sprained my wrist so sat in the car reading while BFF finished the afternoon lesson, but whined her into taking me to the Valley health center. By then there was a baseball sized swelling on my wrist. Yep, you guessed it, the first of my broken wrists. Happy 30th birthday, Barbara! Snow shoeing, si, Skiing, NO! Congrats on the much improved cholesterol!
Sharon " seem to be dwelling on these losses lately a lot" me too. Only natural I think as the years and losses pile up. I need new strategies, song, walk in woods, play with Tumble, but even though I know they'll make me feel better, I just feel like cr@p.
Julie those wine pumps are a blessing for wasteless portion control of a wider selection of wines. Well done!
Rori can you align Mars along your breaks? Mrrrrr.....
Carol surely that FB posting wasn't your sister's way of communicating her wish to your BIL? Had no idea furnishings and bedding are not provided in assisted living. Does that mean you have to launder the bedding too?
Beth Misses NSV Hooray! If maxi skirts hit mid calf, I'd not like the look as I'm 4'11". But I LIVED in long (ankle lengths) skirts for years and there are many that are summery and lightweight. The first time I tried on an XL blazer, it fit, I asked the sales lady, are you sure this isn't a plus-sized store? When she answered Not Plus Sized, I cried.
Katla love the roadside rest area for horses. Reminds me of the horse camping area at Bullards Beach, best spots in the state park, just over the dunes from the ocean.
Terri safe travels!
Lisa a new grandbaby? Con VERY gratulations!
Karen in VA thank you so much for your cautions. Due to earlier posts, I did a little shopping in town. The first store I tried had only one kind of CBD oil, it wasn't organic, didn't list the cannabinoids mg/ml and they wanted $45 for a 500 "dose" bottle. I'll check the other stores in town, but may end up going on line.
Tracey ditto others with fingers, toes, eyes, everything crossed for Tuesday morning! Now all that has to happen is for HIM to win YOU over I'll PM you about the shirt when I feel better. "dream about her frequently and know that I'll see her again someday." True that. ((hugs)) Great news about your DH's potential for full time and raise. More crossings
Yvonne, where DO lost socks go? And how is it that they know to reappear AFTER I've thrown their mate away? "...like my pets better than I like most people" amen sister! My BFF had a sweatshirt with the "more I know if people the better I like dogs" quote on it. An ER doctor obviously didn't share the sentiment...
Lisa rv family of four What you do every day WILL have the desired result. Hang in there! Would you add your location to your signoff? To help us keep you straight from other Lisas like Lisa in AR?
Vickie and all thanks for the kind wishes and hugs. TMIHow our emotions affect our bodies! Got a sudden belly bug yesterday that had me in the bathroom, both directions, for hours. How is it that you can bring up so much more than you've eaten? No line dancing for me last night. Thanks to the roofers, I missed T'ai Chi Wednesday and Friday mornings, so way low on activities. Able to keep this morning's yoghurt down so far, but weak and dizzy. Headed back to bed.Know when this passes, some of the sadness will have passed too and I can get back to T'ai Chi, dancing and the garden. Thank you all!
Only thru pg 23 but going back to bed.
Later and lighter, lovelies!

Hi all! I'm new and would like to join you for your journey's.
I turn 48 this month so I feel I belong to the 50+ club more.
I've had an alright month so far. I bombed on my diet for a few days last week and weekend and gained weight despite working out a lot after 4 years of being sedentary. This led to hiding and crying in the bathroom, and hiding and crying in my bedroom closet. I'm so embarrassed for my boyfriend and brother to know that I'm trying hard and still not winning and then crying like a wimp.
I am proud as I snapped myself out of it, and have committed myself to REALLY cleaning up my diet and keeping good on my calorie goals. So now I'm off to the gym! Hope everyone is having a good day!10 -

I'm a grandmother, y'all!💖
Meet Athena Rose! She came at 7:58am today, weighing 8 lbs, 12 ozs, and 21 inches long. I am in love with her already!
I cried when I saw these pics!

Rebecca! ... Congratulations! She is beautiful and her name fits her perfectly!1

Congrats, Rebecca. Athena Rose is a beauty. Oh, those cheeks!1

Yes, so rose bud mouth!

Congratulations Rebecca-beautiful little girl! Grandkids are the best!
Nothing so exciting in my life today. Rested up from workweek. Got an hour and a half walk in and some extra time on treadmill. Did treadmill because I realized I was around 2,000 steps from having 100,000 for the week and I have never hit that before (and don't know when I will be that close again!). That was my NSV.
Oldest brother and wife coming to town for his grandson's graduation this week so I am going to sneak some time away from work to visit. He lives near Atlanta so we don't see each other much. Luckily I can shift things around-probably take off both Tuesday and Wednesday.
Going to bed earlier tonight so I get my sleep straightened out.
Best to all,
Ginny2 -
Happy Birthday Athena Rose! Yes look at those cheeks. Rebecca - she is your Mother's Day present a day early Congrats to you and Lee, happy Grandparents!!0
