Thanks, Barbie for getting us going on the new month. You are a Blessings to me, this group is. I did not do the best in April as I ended up 1 pound. New month and going to do better.
Heather-Sorry to hear about your friend, Sending hugs and prayers for both of you.
Katiebug-I like your inner voice and the writing you do to turn things around. I will work on that. Thanks.
Michele-Ithing the Halloween webbs colored black would look good.
KJ-Friends like that are hard to fine, but bring such joy. My friend Sam that had the bad stroke last year is my BF. That is part of what I am having to learn because she does remember who I am just not a lot about the past. Yet the next time I see her she does remember and we laugh. Makes it hard, but I go see her as often as I can and grateful for her.
New month, New start. We can do this.
Blessings, Vicki GI NE4 -
afternoon ladies~
well been running around on my day off, but its a good running around, DFIL having none of it this morning except for 2 ice creams. this afternoon he did eat some penne ala vodka, that I chopped up for him, not a ton but did well 3 root beers 2 that he drank on his own..the Dr took him off the trazodone that was having him in a stuper for morning and afternoon and cutting the nighttime dose down and will reassess next week.. without it, he is more alert looking around will say one or 2 words but got a phrase or 2 out at lunch... so that is a bit of progress.. also met the hospice nurse and the aide.. who will come in 3 times a week.. all of them just lovely...
off to take some clothes to consignment and then to pick up a chair... and then out to a yummy dinner ..
will catch up later...4 -

Lost my entire post while trying to post this photo of my Dutch door window in the gorgeous sunshine we’re having!
Love to you all! Thanks, Barbi!

Started the day with some crazy awesome NSV's - I have a WAISTLINE now and had to put another notch in my belt to keep my pants up. My scale victory for April isn't too shabby either at -11.8 lbs. Wow! I just did that math and am EXTREMELY happy.
DISCIPLINE, Baby! I read an awesome article on Discipline vs Motivation and it hit home like nobody's business. Motivation comes and goes. It can be affected by mood, procrastination, excuses and many other internal and external things. But Discipline.. you either have it or you don't. And I am thinking about that every time I want to ditch my workout, munch on crap or just go off the deep end with drinking or eating. That being said, I haven't felt deprived at all having discovered Skinnytaste.com and the genius that is Gina and her incredible recipes. If you haven't checked her out you should no matter what your diet preference (gluten free, keto, low carb, weight watcher) or tools of preference (instapot, crock pot, air fryer, oven, stove). I have never had light recipes with SO MUCH flavor or had so much fun planning, prepping and cooking. The entire house is losing weight, not to mention the money we are saving on eating out. I can't recommend her recipes enough... and it's working. I am not affiliated with Gina or Skinnytaste in any way.. just a HUGE fan!
It's a good day to plan to go to 180... starting off 190.8 with an 11.8 lb loss in April... another in May would put me there... 180, here I come!
Lovin life, spring, C25K, Skinnytaste.com, MFP, and all you losers!

Shari - Nicely done! You sound both motivated AND disciplined.
Just thought I'd stop in and share this for those like me, who indulge in work when we ought to be exercising. It's less than two minutes long, and reminds me of what someone, can't remember which of our "K's" it was, had to say about "flipping" the situation. Might help! Couldn't hurt, for sure. Plus, he's one of my favorite authors.
Love y'all!

Thanks for starting this Barbie! My plan for May is very simple: keep up the tracking and eating healthier! I’m hoping to get heavier ankle weights since mine are getting too light. I’m good with working out, it’s the food part has been a problem 🧐
I’m very busy taking care of my family with my husband and daughter being disabled. Exercise is my stress reliever - I am glad to be back to tracking my calories again.3 -
Refreshing my goals and log into the over 50 page to find excellent encouragement. Thank-you everyone!!3

My goals for May are simple
-move without going mental.
-exercise with husband (at base gym bwaha), 4 times a week for an hour.
-be religious with my steroid ointment! Its working!
-2 to 3 times a week use meditation app to help me get into deep sleep.
-try not to mentally beat myself up because we can't attend our first grandchild birth. May is a lean month.
I shall do all these things with grace and perseverance!
Amen.

Hi all,
Back from our babysitting.
Here is yet another pic of DH all dressed up by Max and Edie. He has fairy wings, nail varnish and tattoos.
Edie is very good at tattoos.
We had such a lovely time. I fed them pasta and when DDIL got home we set off for the Persian restaurant, where we had the best EVER chicken and lamb kebab. Proper charcoal grilled and heavenly. Yummo!
Then we walked home, so I've got about an hour and a half walking today as well as my morning exercise session.
UTI keeping at bay, though I feel it's not completely gone to ground. I hope to sleep tonight. Pills and potions.
A property programme we like to watch featured Brighton and Hove tonight.
DH at cricket tomorrow.
Love Heather

Hello everyone, do you have a notion of how many people are on this thread?
In the past I've been on threads with 4-10 people or so. It seems like way more here. It seems like some of you guys know one and other really well. It'll take a while to get to know everyone.7 -
Hi Gals,
Kathy in S. Kentucky – for me when I stop logging I also stop weighing/measuring my food, and I NEVER guess right an ounce of veggies always looks like 2 ounces and 2 ounces of chocolate always looks like 1 ounce… LOL
Betsy in NW Washington – Do you have a seasonal job in Alaska?
Banana - There are around 20 who participate pretty regularly, and some who come and go as life takes them, and then plenty who wander in for a short time and then wander away. We are very active, which can put some folks off as it can be hard to keep up. But if you stay around after a while you’ll know the regulars.

X-rays showed two bi-lateral fractures (each ankle) and a broken 5th metatarsal (left foot). The person who called with the news told me I'd need to have both ankles in splints for 6-8 weeks, and shouldn't drive myself. I got an appointment today and used Uber to get there and back. The PA did some tests pressing on the sites of the fractures, and NOTHING hurt. She thinks that the right ankle injury is a sprain, and I can get away with a boot just on the left foot. The broken toe seems to be the injury of most concern. I am elated. Six to 8 weeks in a boot won't be a picnic, but at least I can get around and drive. Won't go crazy, but did get the green light to use recumbent bike on a light resistance. Woot!
Heather: Your DH is such a good sport. Did he go the restaurant with nail varnish on?
Shari: Attagurl! Keep it up.
ChrisCatMama: Who is that cute kitty in your profile pic? I bet he's a good stress reliever, too.
Take care friends. Choose joy.

Glad to hear it isn't as bad as it might have been and good news about the recumbent bike!
