Machka~ your countryside is beautiful as is the beaches and ocean...
I slept well , but got woken up by the dog pouncing on me lol .. I still feel a bit off and have gained 3 lbs but I know that is over indulging in sugar free candy... so will put a stop to that..
and not getting enough exercise .. I did go out with my friend Trudy yesterday ..just to Marshalls ,I didnt buy anything,, and went out to a late lunch, had a beautiful salad and 4 naked chicken wings.. and was full for the night... I went down and fed my DFIL and came home and got my p.j.s on and hung out..
today I think DFIL brother coming for a visit,,, so will have to be down there for that..
just checked Facebook.. my SIL sent me in messenger trying to make me feel bad... Ugh'
My dads estate will finally be settled mid June,,, and in the end I will get a bit larger amount than my brother..not alot .. but he was incarcerated , and they take that money back if get any inheritance.. also If you remember I had to pay alot of the bills to keep the house running...
I was working ,and my brother had the time to clean out the house , it was heavy hard work..but he is getting 2500.00 and I am getting 13,000 ... she is making me feel guilty and I am sure she want's me to split what I get with him.. but a NO . I am putting it in savings.. or a CD6 -
*** Wellness ***
The chart above shows 7 dimensions of wellness, but I've thought about them expanded them out ...
Emotional
Recreation - We go to the symphony and plays, we travel and exercise, of course. These things do help relieve stress and maintain an element of normality in our lives. I just checked and we don't seem to have any of these things on the calendar for June. Exercise of course, but no entertainment or travel planned. That might be OK for this month.
Financial & Occupational
Preparation - We're getting there. We've got wills and are making preparations for retirement and injury or illness. This area is on my list during my break from uni. Lots to do.
Work - I'm still working fulltime, taking on more tasks, learning new things. Extremely busy month ahead and may be some long days.
Intellectual
Learning - I'm in uni going for my Master's Degree. But I've now got about 6 weeks off uni ... a nice, much needed break. Oh ... almost 6 weeks off. I do have a final exam in a little under 2 weeks. Mustn't forget that! It is on my calendar.
Creativity - My creative hobby is photography ... which I don't do nearly enough.
Spiritual
Spirituality - YES!!
Social
Family - Good relationship with my family.
Involvement - I'm president, communications officer, and ride organiser for one of our local cycling clubs. We just finished organising and running an event, and thankfully my next event doesn't come up till October. However, I do need to get on top of what's involved in the job of president over the winter.
The local brain injury association has also dropped a hint that there might be room for more involvement by me.
Environmental
Environment - We're slowly organising the house and making attempts to simplify things. During the next 6 weeks off, I'll be doing quite a lot of this. I've got to go through my clothes, toiletries, etc. for a start. And then organise my home office ...
Health - I'm working with health professionals to address various issues before they become big issues. Three different physiotherapists!
Physical
Exercise - I do a variety of active things regularly. See exercise goals below.
Eating - I'm trying to eat a generally healthy diet and keep my weight down.
Sleep - I am working on this. I have created a "cocoon of silence" that seems to be working reasonably well. I didn't anticipate it would be as comfortable as it is.
Alcohol & Smoking - NOPE!!

Rori - Your heart had to be in your throat for that entire episode. Anything I could say would just be repeating those thoughts I know you've thinking, so just much love being sent your way, and the offer of a listening ear as needed.
Pip - glad you're back! I think I said that already.
I love that diagram, Machka - and I think it speaks to what we're doing here as a group and individually. Moving toward wellness, focusing on those actions necessary to live a life that will be both long and healthy. That focus is what brings us here and keeps us here. Wellness is a combination of all these and more, not just losing weight, although that is a handy little marker for most of us. All these have come up in discussions here these past few years, with immense support as we change our futures.
No plans for today at all... my favorite kind of day! And for those of you who are Terry Pratchett lovers, Good Omens' first season is available on Amazon Prime. Watched two episodes last night, and may reread the book on my Kindle this morning.
Love y'all,

Good morning ladies! Happy Sunday and happy June! I don't have Trentin at all this weekend (yea!), so yesterday, after getting my shopping and errands done, I headed to Zeeland (a nearby town) High School to watch my nephews compete in the State track and field meet. The boys (twins) ran in four events and placed first in three of them and third in the final event. So proud of them! They are only sophomores, so they have two more years of high school track (this was their first year on the team). My brother and his wife are very happy. The boys are/have always been very active, so to have this as a physical outlet has been wonderful. They have tried football, soccer, swimming, cross country; but this is the sport that they have decided that they like. I arrived to the stadium at about 2pm and after three rain delays it finally ended at 10pm. My eating was not great (concession stand offerings), but I did quite a bit of walking and up and down the stadium bleachers and up and down to cheer (and yell). It was absolutely invigorating to see all of the strength and energy in these young people and remember when I was in high school and running the same events. My brother was in the Marines at the time I was in high school, so he had no idea that I ran track. So all in all...a very good afternoon/evening.
Barbie- Thank you for bringing us into June! I feel like I just wrote that for May (which flew by). I will keep my goals for this month the same.
log daily
drink more water
walk daily
add 15 minutes of exercise to each day
get back to my pound of veg/day containers!
I lost a grand total of one pound for May! lol But a loss is a loss and I will take it.
Rori- Ugh! (((HUGS))) Biggest of hugs for you and DH as you make your way through dementia fog/bog. I am so happy that things turned out well; both DH and cat arrived home safely.
Rita- Love the swim suit! And that new profile pic of you in the bright red...Wowsa! You look fantastic!
Mary- Your kettlebell workouts/transformation is truly inspiring! I think you should take a moment when you have the time and just tell us (again) and let the new ladies hear, your kettlebell journey.
Rebecca- So happy you are able to spend time with your son, his wife, and baby Athena Rose! I am sure they will love having you and watching you bond with their little lovely! Are you off soon? Safe travels!
More of you I wanted to respond to, but my brain is in a fog due to playing all day yesterday and the mental list of what has to get done today so I am ready for kids tomorrow! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Just getting stuff together for my son's little 40th celebration.
DH is getting some garden furniture out of the shed and I will put down a rug for the grandchildren.
Silly to be excited about a little English Tea party, but I haven't seen them for ages.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxx4 -
@Machka9 Great chart! And I like your expansion! I use something similar in my regular personal reviews. Like yourself I am in the throes of decluttering for a simpler life, but so many items have memories attached! And, I’m trying to convince myself that having space doesn’t mean I have to fill it.
Getting ready for my weekly visit with my elder girl and her boys. We put our Sunday dinner on timer, and arrive home to delicious aromas.
DH loves his roast meat! It’s pork loin roast this week. The roast forms the basis of most of our dinners until Thursday. We have a different roast each week, so have a 3 week menu plan on the go.
On Thursday I usually cook something special for our younger girl who visits on her way home from work.
Almost time to go.
🕊May your Sabbath be blessed with joy. 🕊

Well hello Okie in the Texas Hill Country we live in the Hill Countey region too! So howdy neighbor.
CW171.6 I dropped again blaming gastrointestinal issues last night something triggered my IBS to buck like a bull. Took a gas-x y antacid didn’t help enough was up down to the toilet half the night. Good thing baby slept in. Today looking at Father’s Day ideas for Dad/Hubby. Hubby bought a kite for a 2yr old to fly at a park ...hope it’s a happy day not a fussy one or it won’t turn out as he plans. Full proof - mans thinking
2yr olds are unpredictable messes- Woman’s common sense lol.
Needing to figure out JRs measurements again to make sure he hasn’t outgrown anything important (clothes, safety reasons car seat to high chairs, toys, shoes) . I check every month she’s away what he outgrown. He’s a tall kid. A whee bit of a giant he swamps normal sized items so in search of bigger ones all the time. He’s outgrowing the biggest toy car (foot kind) that they make I don’t feel safe with battery operated for his age group. Working on his balance issues with his balance bike today (Ages 4+ the one I bought he loves it) . He’s almost out of kids shoe sizes so definitely need to measure one growth spurt we might be in Adult 1’s over night (feet effect his balance height too). Mixing more eczema/Keratosis Pilaris creams together for him. Got to remember to make Guacamole, wear my retainers,y well the rest I already forgot.

@TerriRichard thanks for the encouragements. it's very small loss but better than gain, right? I aim to eat just a little but have not been good with portion control of late. Before and after photos are great.
@exermom velveeta cheese doesn't sound great, agreed. coleslaw is often ok, potato chips is ok tasting, though not super-healthy to say the least. I would have thought it was money donations to make food and not food donations. food donations makes it harder to have fresh food. I hope the party is lots of fun and not too much. agreed that there's lots to do with lots of people. I used to occasionally have a big party (in small apartment) with 30 people or so, but last time, about 4-5 years ago other than the first and last hour or so, I spent the whole time greeting and saying good-bye to people and things like that. last time (about 2 years ago) I had about 18 people but told people to get their own drinks from the fridge let others open the doors and made a point to feel more free to speak at length with people I felt like speaking to. I enjoyed it much more. I mostly agree about inviting all in a given group (unless there is some major reason not to). wasn't that why sleeping beauty got cursed in one version of sleeping beauty ? : the old fairy had been there so long that everyone thought she was dead, and forgot to invite her, and thus curses sleeping beauty. we've all experienced or known of experience of some kind of exclusion and it's just no fun and can make for bad blood. yours sounds like a good plan. 4 houses sounds like a pleasant number. I used to swim tons in pools and would always get the dark suits and rinse them out well after each swim. when I swam an hour a week the best of them would last 2 months tops. sorry maki is a word for sushi rolls. I really don't know about doing fantastic, but if I make it through ok, it's already that. I couldn't make baked goods at present. I just don't have good portion control this past year or two. it's super-annoying. Lol for the crab.
@kevrit nice suit!
@Machka9 What kind of position do you see your husband in in the future, ideally? If they don't find appropriate work will insurance have to pay for salary lost for the rest of his life? that can be a lot but insurance companies are not the poorest. My thesis director required a certain number of pages, not final draft. I said wouldn't it be better to have 70 good pages than 100 pages and she agreed, but then next day she wrote that I need to send 100 pages. I guess she spoke to the director of the department who I have a hard time describing with lady-like words. he's a &%!°@! The official line is that everyone is supposed to produce 100 pages per year. We weren't informed in advance and this line is simply not respected or enforced by nearly any thesis director I know of. mine is really not great. she's a fearful stickler for rules but is lacking contemporary knowledge in the field, professionalism in some areas, etc. I tried to change but it's really hard to, as others are afraid of offending their colleagues, so I just try to finish as best I can. for your wellness chart I think im' ok on intellectual and possibly spiritual and possibly physical and somewhat social, but not great on environmental, (de-cluttering) and financial (can't make ends meet) and somewhat emotional (am not on top of tasks). the hardest one to manage is financial. it's tricky. I could've dropped the Phd and picked up a side gig (which I sometimes do) but at this point it doesn't seem wise. I'm likely to be really living with little resources when retired, unless there's a switch around. at 55 that makes me feel stressed.
@auntiebk where is your peaceful private campground? the van project sounds fun for him. thanks for the encouragements. I hope I make it through. it's become hard these past years. I really need to not have a major emergency this coming year to get through.
I think I wrote to all who wrote to me. sorry if I missed any. it's not intentional. hi to all.2 -
I lazed today, and now it's mid afternoon. so hot. 89°0

Well, NSV for me today!
I've done something that I've been meaning to do for over a year - negotiate a lower rate for my cell phone charges. I'm on SIM only, so it should be dirt cheap, but it isn't and I was just too lazy to do anything about it, so I just let it ride. Well, today I had time to kill before my guests arrive, so I grasped the nettle and made the call.
THEY HALVED MY CHARGES! :drinker:
My fault for taking so long to do it, but I feel a whole lot better now. They also gave me extra data. That will be useful on the cruise.
Then I felt so empowered I finished framing an old painting of mine. I painted it in the very early 90s, when I was going through emotional hell, and always wanted to do something with it. A short while ago I bought a framed print from a cheap shop and it fitted very well. So, I've initialled it and stuck it in the frame. At the moment it's in my bathroom. It's kind of a weird abstract, so I don't think anyone else will like it, (my kids and ex used to laugh at my efforts) , but I am pleased with seeing it in a frame.
So, not too bad for a pre guest burst of energy!

Pip: Welcome home!!!
Michelle: “I, too, am sorry that Newcomers isn’t bringing me the satisfaction it once did. But it might be a blessing in disguise. Now I can volunteer in something else that’ll give me satisfaction. The only thing constant is change.” This is absolutely true. :flowerforyou:
Rita: I’ve had lactose intolerance for decades. I can usually eat cheese without difficulty, particularly firm cheese such as cheddar. If I want a gooier cheese, I take a lactaid tablet first.
Kim: Great idea about the bracelet for Rori’s DH. :flowerforyou:
(((Rori)))
M in OZ: I love the photos of you and DH in the countryside. :flowerforyou:
Heather: I’m glad that you were able to frame your art work and hang it. WTG!!!
We have a mostly cloudy sky, but the temperatures are moderate and it is dry. I hope to put some fun into the day. I need to power wash the boat but I'd like to have a warmer day for that.

good morning again ladies~
my life as it seems is beginning to spin a tad bit out of control.. and I have to get a handle on it ..
I have been doing well .. but have started emotional eating and feeling that nagging downward spiral.. not doing anything rash at all .. but goodness things just so discombobulated..
I have quite few bottles of antidepressants, that honestly I probably should start back on again..
went up to see my DB and SIL my brother has gotten himself in some more hot water.. and it concerns money...
My SIL not happy with the settlement from my dads estate..
we have the family cottage on the shoreline of New Hampshire.. and it is old and in some disrepair but Sean and Jean have taken the handle on it.. I wanted to go up there for the weds-sunday of 4th of July..I have no problem helping with my fair share of expenses , but as family I dont think I should have to sign a rental contract and put down a security deposit and pay 250.00 a day..
my poor father is probably rolling in his grave...anyway..I had that planned for 5 days off from work ,I love it there but cant afford 1300.00 plus a security deposit to go there..
the job is driving me batty , and I just feel out of sorts.. so will call Dr's office and make an appointment, and I know how antidepressants work.. take a good month to get them into your system..
Ok no more pitty party..I have to be thankful for what I do have and put my big girl panties on lol11 -

Allie ~ That's just plain mean!4 -
Allie, sounds like you’re catching more flies with (sweetheart and) honey than vinegar, lol!
1 -
Grandmallie- I agree no reason to sign a contract that’s ridiculous especially only for a few days if they have it the rest of the year! You can rent someone else’s beach home cheaper or buy your own for that much!
I’m lucky no one to fight with about my Moms estate was just me y Dad (my siblings were given up decades before when mom was an unwed mom common in those days). We cleaned the home together had it planned every year since she got termanal cancer but she lived over 35yrs with it! She was able to almost see my oldest graduation y Navy sign in/I became pregnant with my son 3 months after her death (lost the pregnancy I didn’t know I had during the funeral times) . Having our minds ready/Mom planned her beautiful funeral so it was so easy on us plus she planned Dads too ! She was a very sweet woman. Having a form of retardation (farm birth), Schizophrenia ,y multi cancers lungs, lymphnototic leukemia,y more it spread so badly it helped to prep lab everything even which coloring book for her chemo IV at a clinic that was so thoughtful y kind to us all. Mom even glamour shot posed every year so we could have beautiful fotos to remember her with we used this one her last one a week before she passed for the closed casket. We went in a few days after her death emptied the closet onto the bed went through Dads clothes 1st. Made sure since he has Dementia/brain injury job related that all his clothes fit weren’t in distressed his sister helped by making a shopping list for what he needed. He wanted to keep the mattress she passed on so we disinfected used a black light flipped it over (he refuses to let it go I feel it’s helping him to feel closer to her), deep cleaned everything, washed all their blankets with bleach (get the sickness off y dust for some),y kept going I took her coat y sweater wore it while pregnant Dad loves to see me in them their 3or4x so their baggy but to see him smile it’s worth it. We had to go through dishes to food even set it up for a brain injury mind. Tossed old food he insisted I take the 10yr old boxes of macaroni I ate every box - tossed the packets inside he was happy watching me eat it as we cleaned (no tasted terrible not what all what I expected for noodles to taste lol). The day he found out I was pregnant 3months later with a boy to my Daughter accomplishments renewed him he sunk his time into my pregnancy/daughter to keep his mind off our loss.My son texts him all by himself to calls him lol brightened his life. My son uses auto correct even to get major messages across he spells like he speaks so better than most! Almost can spell PawPaw.

LISA love Terry Pratchett and especially Good Omens have read book and actually listening to a dramatisation on Audible
Cooking advice needed just had great success with a joint of beef in slow cooker with red wine and beef stock lovely gravy DH loves his gravy. Have a joint of pork and not sure what to put in I usually do it without liquid but would like to try something different. Thought of apple cider but not sure if the gravy would work
Kate UK3 -
Kate UK - I always use cider with pork. Yum. You can put in half a chicken stock cube as well. I often fry a bit of bacon first to add flavour.
This is my table for the party.
My son dislocated his ankle on the second day of the holiday and spent a lot of it in bed. Other than that they all had a great time. The kids spoke Spanish to the waiters!!!!! (They go to a bilingual school)
The champagne in the photo is non alcoholic as my son is dry these days.

awww Heather what a lovely birthday tea~ went to the store and then went to feed DFIL . brought him a hot fudge Sundae, he polished that off and promptly fell alseep so no lunch, and no visiting with his brother and SIL, he slept through it all. we had a good visit..
will go back down at 5 to feed him dinner and im sure he will eat then..
thank you all for your love and concern , means alot to me.. I am a bit heartbroken over it , but will have to forge new path's I guess...7 -
Allie, stick to your guns! Your SIL has no business trying to make you feel bad for getting more money than your brother. You are absolutely right in that you paid a bunch of bills and kept everything afloat for a LONG time and you deserve every penny that you get. (I'm also assuming you submitted receipts for all that you paid for and that that was taken into consideration.)
Michele, that crab in the pot is adorable! Did you ever figure out something for Pigpen's cloud of dirt?
Rita, awesome transformation! Gorgeous bathing suit too!
Pip, nice to have you back, hope you enjoyed your trip!
Machka, I had to chuckle about when you and DH were at the Dr and the RTW person got her eyes opened up about how much you actually do on a regular basis. I don't understand why they would want you to "get rid" of calendars etc! I have had a calendar going for years! I have progressed from paper to on my phone (much handier!) but it was a definite must when both boys and hubby were all playing ball, and then as kids got older it was more for hubby and I and keeping track of our appointments and social events. (not a lot of social events, but.... lol) Now it's indispensable!
Okie, cute twins!
Jumped on the scale this a.m., down into a new decade again! Only by .4 of a pound, but I'll take it! Now I just have to maintain that til official wi day on Tuesday....
Getting warmer here, very happy to see the sun, but disturbed by the wildfires already starting up. May not be great summer, air quality wise.
Hugs for those who need them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the newbies!

Heather, lovely table! ps, either your son is very tall or you are very short! lol
I have some lactose intolerance, I prefer to call it more of a sensitivity than actual intolerance. I can eat yogurt or hard cheese with no issues. I do use a lactaid treated milk (not that I drink a lot of milk, just for my cereal) and I limit ice cream. I try to limit ice cream anyway, too many calories, but once in awhile I have to indulge! I don't buy it too often these days, so it's easier to limit the intake!
Allie, I have to agree with Peachey, your SIL is being just plain mean! Shame on her!
All caught up!
Hope everyone has a great day!
