I would be careful about threatening law suits too. Again that might make it harder to find something else.
Here's another thing to check. Are part time employees eligible for unemployment? I tried to research it, but the articles only talked about working part time while receiving benefits and moving from full time to part time and being eligible for partial benefits.
Find a job before quitting a job is important,I think.
Good luck, Allie.

Good point on part time and Unemployment Felicia! I didn’t remember she was officially part time.

I am just relaxed waiting for lunchtime. Good luck to those looking for better jobs. The work market has gotten so harsh. Sad that bosses can't play nice.
I am trying to eat under my 1200 so the average comes out at 1200 after my weekend splurge. This upcoming weekend is my brother's funeral. That is bound to involve lots of food again. Always a challenge. Maybe it is petty of me to be counting calories the weekend of a funeral, but I guess I have my priorities.3 -

Felicia - your post spiked my curiosity, so I checked WA State unemployment benefit rules. They have a nifty calculator. Benefits here are based on a formula taking into account the past year or so's quarterly earnings, full time or part time makes no difference. Looks like in most cases, the weekly benefit will be around half what the regular income was, unless you were a high earner (then it's considerably less!), and it's subject to FIT of course.

Annie- Don’t worry about it a lot of us do to gastric bypass, surgeries, health issues,y needing to get down for better health have to count calories or watch what we grab no matter the event. Can even do what a friend of mine did he carried a Tupperware in his bag (manpurse) to put on a plate at events when he sat down.He had gastric even tho family members didn’t understand he had to measure so worked for him. I grab a protein reasonable portion a lot of veggies to fruit.Skip breads to desserts y drinks. Stick with water. Can add it up after or under the table then skip something on your plate if need be.

Heather: I know that during the full moon phase I always drop into a funk. Gently and intentionally forgive yourself, do something that feels right.
I would love to have more time alone! DH has been stable the past few days and I attribute it to his getting to bed at decent hour. I give him 4 oz of tart cherry juice around 10 PM, which may be helping. Still too soon to tell. He used to be meticulous, so much so that my nickname for him was POF (Picky Ol' Fart). Dementia has affected his sense of order. He thinks he's putting things away, but I have to follow him around to make sure he's not putting forks in the bathroom, dishsoap in the refrigerator, or my favorite pan in the food pantry. I constantly pick up items he has cast off in the walk in closet we share. I redid his underwear and sock drawers so are fewer items, and are all visible when you open the drawer (Kondo method). Still lots of papers and books to purge, but I would need him to be out of the house for a couple of hours, and I don't see that happening anytime soon.
Mr. Mars, the Leash Loving Cat is crooning at me to take him out. Sorry, I'll have to come back to finish this later.

Thanks, 3 miles came from my treadmill workout. My daughter say as I'm addicted. Before having my knees replaced I pretty much gave it up, since knee surgery I started slowly and worked up speed and length of time walking. For my 5'2" frame, 3 miles in 45 minutes is a hustle. I love it.

Janet ~ Do your knees not bother you when you walk that far and when you do the kettle squats?

Hi, I'm Jennie and I'm 58. I'm really struggling with a lot of issues -- weight, health, family, finances -- and sometimes it seems too hard to do, but what choice do I have?
I have been very successful at losing weight in the past. VERY. Also, I am very successful at gaining it back. VERY. I have attempted many times in the last couple of years, only to fall flat on my face. This time, as in other successful times, something feels.....different. I don't know. I feel hesitant to "put myself out there" on MyFitnessPal message boards. I know my chances of being successful are greatly increased by finding like-minded people and building a support network for myself. BUT I barely have time to write this and then I feel badly if I don't ready every single other post and respond and, well, it gets exhausting. Sometimes I wish you could read a post and respond in your head and that message would be sent. Someday when we all have microchips in our heads. LOL I dunno, it makes me feel like I'm an attention-seeker without giving back. It's hard for me to connect.
I am a dog lover and have 2 westies and one very small but sassy long-haired chihuahua that I rescued from a street corner a month ago. I called the shelter every day until they finally just asked, "So....do you want this dog, because the person that turns them in to animal control gets first dibs after they determine that the owner can't be found." I'm getting a little flack about a third dog, but whatever. Some days I feel like it's the only family I have to come home to. (Said the crazy dog lady with 15 dogs. *sigh*)

Yes, Carol, they do hurt, sometimes worse than others. At least not excruciating pain like they did before replacement. I have to say I've never been completely pain free since the replacements which has been pretty disappointing. I do use knee braces when on the treadmill, which helps. I had to start out very slowly and for a very short time, its taken several years to get here. Right knee was January 2015, left, September of 2015.

Another idea - when you get resume created, why not post it here and let the fabulous writers on this board proofread and tweak it

I am in a challenging technology class this a.m., when the class got bogged down, frustrated and stuck (the instructor was teaching via a webinar so was on a screen, not teaching in person) the "facilitators" in the class noticed our frustration, so they started frantically handing out chocolate to keep us in our seats! I got out of my chair and walked out to catch my breath and deal with how infuriating it was, others stayed and chowed down on the candy I am not saying this to boast, whenever I got stressed/frustrated in the past, I would have been tearing into that candy, trust me. I am taking this course to learn something new, if it is of no use to me, or taught in a manner that is complete GREEK to me, I do not have to eat candy Isn't it fascinating to notice how our society throws food at us at a moments notice, to soothe, comfort, bribe, entertain, distract etc?8

Jennie ~ Welcome to a great group of chatters. You don't have to comment on everyone's posts and many of us only check in with a smile and no comments. I love your pups. I have a 16 pound 10 yr old Pomeranian who thinks he owns us!
Janet ~ Thanks for letting me know about your knees. I still need to get my left knee done but the right one aches about as much as the left. I am doing the knees exercises I was taught at Ortho and have curtailed the gym for a while.
Amber ~ I commented to my DH yesterday when we were traveling to the car place that it was like playing dodge ball trying not to get hit by careless drivers. And, half the population around here never uses their turn signals.

Allie - good choice - maybe you can flip the script, (can't remember who started that--NYKaren?), and note that you "get" to have this job while you're looking for another? Not that you "have" to have this job? Whatever it takes to resolve your frustration levels, because that gets so wearing on you...
Well, the last objections to applying for the $100 million monster grant have been handled, so now I'm well and truly up in it, trying to get something together that will at least pass the admin review in to them by August 6. There's so much to be learned through all of this, and even if we can get a few steps into the MacArthur grant, it will be big in these circles. Time to start pulling in other team members for assistance (which began at this morning's meeting, as well. )
Have to be in town tomorrow for the All-Staff meeting, so need to get as much done as I can today. That one meeting alone takes me out of the game for a half day.
Have I mentioned I'm not fond of meetings? But, to flip the script, I "get" to be at meetings with people that I genuinely enjoy here, anyway. At my last council, I "had" to be at meetings with people who would have cheerfully thrown me under the bus and then backed over me a couple times to make sure.
Peeled the top three rebound pounds (of six!) off after the fasting/laxative prep for the colonoscopy boomeranged on me. Got a few more to go to get back to equilibrium.
Love y'all,

I've finally caught up and feel that I am beginning to know some of you! It is great to have found such a supportive and caring group of women!
I am struggling with very slow weight loss. I think I have lost my metabolism completely. I am eating around 1100 calories or less (my goal is 1330) and still have weeks where nothing comes off. I have been trying to lose 1 pound a week. I began January 8 and have lost 31 pounds so far. I have been trying to keep protein high, carbs low and sugar as low as possible since I have diabetes.
Also, having a bunch of health issues which are slowing down my exercise. Sigh! I was sedentary for 10+ years after a serious auto accident, so my body has gone downhill a lot since then.
I will try to keep up with reading posts so that I can respond to individuals. I have to get used to checking the page as posts add up quickly! I especially enjoy everyone's photos! I will have to learn how to post them. (Harder to pick up new things after 60!) Hope everyone has a fabulous day!!

Oh, Rebecca! i SO wish there was an affordable way to stay in some of the smaller towns in Japan! I’d love to hear the cicadas and the temple bell or gong, eat street food, go to a festival or two. I must get my mystery trip people on it. They seem to be able to work magic. Well, maybe not yet. I must pay for the Mexico trip first. My dreams get well ahead of my pocketbook at times. And hugs back, Rebecca, but aren’t you a bit afraid of a “SQUEEZE HYG” when you’re doing a cleanse? 😉

Michele--I thought it was the way you painted Sally and I like it. You are doing such a great job getting all these painted for the yard.
Another hot day and with the rain during the night it is not nice outside. I am feeling kind of shaking today. Not sure what is going on.

Yes I do miss Japan, with its intricate winding streets. I had a secret route to the train station that took me past old homes, with Bonsai trees out front. Its not the size of your garden, but how you tend it. If we ever decide to travel there it would be by military planes over a timetable of a month! Being retired military we can use MAC but we would get bumped and wait. Maybe we could wait for son to get leave, so it would be more definite in seeing him. I would hate to take the long trip there, only to find out the ship went out to sea at the last minute.
Sharon I am more worried when I am lifting weights! Its quiet in the weight room, so one toot, or grumble would be heard most definitely! Its the grumbling with the 5 second warning that's the unsettling.side effect! Actually since I take them early in the morning, I am home when that happens.👍
Saw the barebun run at your resort! How was the turnout? Weather good? I am such a cottontail!

DH is home! How long will it be before I get fed up with him!? The 4 day cricket match was a draw.
I cooked the MOST delicious Tandoori Chicken Kebabs for him (and me). By the way, Barbara asked for the recipe last time I posted the kebabs, and I'm seriously wondering what has happened to her.
I do hope she is ok.
I managed 35 minutes of rowing for my bonus calories this afternoon, after a nap.
Heather, feeling more cheerful, in Hove UK xxxxxxx6 -
Ginny, It helped me to not focus on my weight goal but on my newly acquired good habits. I also found it helpful to talk about my weight loss journey as little as possible to ward off well meaning friends and family members who had opinions that I didn't want to hear.
I worked extra hard in the yard this morning expecting that the rain would come by lunch time, but it still isn't here. Now the forecast says it will be here tomorrow afternoon so I'll have another dry morning for work.
Barbie in NW WA
Barbie .. I agree with this approach whole-heartedly! Especially with intermittent fasting (19:5) I find it easier to just not share what I'm doing until the results are very noticeable and the inquiries as to "how I'm doing it" are sincere.
I beat the rain! Got the grass cut in record time with just about 10 minutes to spare before we had a torrential rain. Woohoo for me!

GREAT NEWS especially for those who this summer will be traveling 🧳 to family dragging us to restaurants!!! 🍱🥡🥢
Found a location icon in Foods when logging them next to bar code scan one! So if at a restaurant you can easily access to log your foods! I needed this 2weeks ago to now lol 😂 oh well better late than never. Has a spot to filter amount of calories your viewing so you can see the ones you want! For premium members you can see protein amount Keto fans!
Hope this helps everyone needing it this Summer since kids will flood out of schools soon to nice weather in spring to fall everyone starts trips to family visits around now.

Did Kelly Coffee Meyers 30 Minutes to Fitness DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Cathe Friedrich Afterburn DVD.
After the dentist went to the post office, the ATM, home to vacuum, now will go in the pool. Rummikub tonight
Evelyn – how I wish that was all that it cost. ¼ cake cost almost $50. Yea, crazy, huh? Maria told me she was going to be getting pastries so that’s why I got a smaller cake. Fortunately, most of it was gone.
I can get so much more done when Vince isn’t around. He’s a procrastinator, I like to get things done in advance.
Carol and Karen in VA – when we had to have our washing machine replaced, the appliance guy told us to stay away from LG and Samsung. He said they were horrible with the customer service. I sure hope this doesn’t happen to you
Lynette – we’ve been doing the ceramics for a while now. I’ll have to check the date on one of my first pieces. I’ll do that when I go out to the pool since that’s where they are. Update: one of the first things I did was in 2014. So I’ve been doing this for 5 years
Allie – you’ve been given some great advice. Just grin and bear it for now
M – good point not posting your resume here.
Jennie – please don’t feel you need to respond to each and every post, just the ones that you feel like. We’re here for you. Come back and you’ll find that we are like-minded people who will support you thru thick and thin
Vicki – what happened (don’t know if you remember) is originally I painted Sally’s clothes in this speckled pink paint which I ordered. But what I got wasn’t as dark as the sample. So I asked if I can paint a speckled purple over it. They really weren’t sure if it would take or not. But I decided to try it…the worst that could happen is I have to ask them to re-pour the mold. Well, it isn’t perfect, but I think it looks OK. So I’m keeping it
Hot here, too. Went in the pool (what else)? We have this wasp, hornet and yellowjacket trap. Someone on Amazon posted that their attractant while expensive really didn’t do a whole lot and they suggested using applejuice. Well, the only problem I find is that I have to clean out the trap just about every day because there isn’t room for any more bugs!
Rummikub tonight. Need to leave early to take the supplies and my games. Remember last time I was told they weren’t going to be providing supplies if it’s held in people’s homes. Well…this isn’t a home so why they took all my supplies is beyond me. Then they had to give them back to me. Stupid.

I think these two photos might have been posted before, but was thinking of the new ladies (and myself frankly, when things get slow in the weight loss...) I like the second one better than the first ... but the first explains the images a little more.

(((Heather))): We do the best we can and try to forgive ourselves for things that we don’t do so well. We’re all verts—some of us are introverts and some of us are extroverts. I am pretty much an introvert. Three things are helping me out: I volunteer for a city advisory committee, my yoga class where we’re all friendly, and the horsey friends I met due to taking riding lessons. Follow your interests and enjoy yourself as much as you can. You may find friends through dancing classes, art classes, or what-ever catches your eye. (Meanwhile, vitamin D3 helps combat the blue meanies.)
Vicki & Sue: Thanks for your kind thoughts. There is good news for the horse I ride. Arrow is going to get better. I’m not sure how long he’ll be in rest mode.
Rebecca: Congrats on your progress! :flowerforyou:
Michelle: Sally and Grumpy are adorable!
Karen in VA: Is there any kind of warranty or “lemon protection” that would have them replace your refrigerator? I hope they get things fixed.
Allie: I’m glad you’ve decided to stick with the current situation. No harm in looking for something different when you’re on your own time. You had worrisome plans for dealing with Dr. Pandy and I’m glad you changed your mind. If you quit or ask to be fired, you may be unable to get unemployment benefits. BE CAREFUL! The best plan is to go out and find a new job before quitting the one you have. My first job out of college was at the unemployment office. I worked there for several years and became a claims adjustor. I learned a lot about how things work. Later I worked for a company that helps employers keep from having to pay for unemployment claims. Lanette has given some good ideas.
Mary from PA: Welcome!
Jennietm: Welcome!
DH has a physical therapy session this afternoon. So far they seem to be helping.
