Lisa In AR-you will meet your healthy goals with the support of all the wonderful ladies here.
Machka- I do happen to love the heat and it’s getting hotter here until Monday.
The power flickered earlier when the demand for power was at its greatest.I only hope it doesn’t go out while we are at work.

Did Cathe Friedrich’s Afterburn DVD. Boy, is that one good workout. Low impact but a very good workout. The plan for tomorrow is to do the Biggest Loser Power Sculpt DVD.

Sue in WA – we have this one lady in our water class whose bathing suit used to sag on her until she bought a new one.

Katla – I hope your hubby feels better soon. He probably will as soon as his muscles recover

Lisa – it probably is because Arkansas is great which is why you love it there. I love NC (well…except for the red clay). When I go to see Denise, it just reminds me that there is no way on this green earth I would ever want to move back.

Beth – yea for the good news about the biopsy!!!

    Welcome everyone new

Went to Sears and got vacuum cleaner bags. Had to order them, but since I bought them today I got $8 off. Then went to Hamrick’s to get shoes. I like Avia sneakers and they’re usually somewhat expensive. Last week they were on sale for $20 and I forgot to go. But this week they’re on sale for $16. They didn’t have my size but they’re checking to see if another store does (probably) and they’ll call me if and when they get them.

Then into the pool. It wasn’t even refreshing. Then ceramics, almost done with my dwarf. Also took two more in to clear glaze. I asked them Monday to pour me this turtle (for Pete). They had one already poured but they didn’t know who it was for so they let me have it. Pete said he wants it to look like a red eared slider. He wants it to look like a turtle (how boring, at least to me). So I’ll do it in different shades of green. Clear glazed the inside so he can put it outside

Lisa – I thought a person HAD to have therapy before WLS. I know a friend of mine who did. But I thought the therapy was a joke. It was basically “why do you want this”, “how are you dealing/going to deal with this” “OK”

Beth - I’m glad for your diagnosis! It eliminates other options.

Rebecca - Athena is beautiful! She has a great expression :)

Thanks to those who have shared the GBS stories, very informative. Not something I would ever want to do, but glad that it's an option. I only want/need to lose about 20 lbs, to start with anyway, have to see what happens after that. Well, need to do that first..... sigh.
Beth, very happy that the diagnosis isn't Lupus, but that still does leave the question about what it is and what can be done about it. Is it itchy or inflamed or anything, I'm sure you've said, but my memory fails me...
Somebody (Rita?) said that aging is not for the weak, I would like to add that it is not for the faint-hearted either!
I'm caught up again, MFP was doing funny things when I was trying to get on at work, some sort of "parsererror" message kept showing up and I couldn't get the star to show. When I got home, I tried my tablet, got the same message, but the star was there, so I was able to get into this thread. Now on my PC, same message but again was able to click on the star. Weird, but I have given up trying to figure out computers, it just really made my head hurt and I don't have anything to sacrifice to the computer gods. Well, unless I could figure out a way to sacrifice the belly fat, although that wouldn't really be a sacrifice, that would be a celebration!! lol
Went out and bought a bike yesterday!! Also got a helmet and a small bag that hooks onto the handlebars. It doesn't get in the way of any moving parts (hubby's concern) and is just big enough for a small water bottle and the rest of my lunch! I already have a backpack, but it's a little small for my lunch and a change of clothes (most necessary when biking to work!) I also need to pack stuff to do my hair as the helmet head is not an attractive look.
Machka, I am envious of the view you get on the bus to work! and I totally understand why you wouldn't want to ride up that hill, that would be a toughy.
Katla, so happy to hear that Arrow will be okay, I always wondered what the big deal was when horses got into the fresh green grass, now I know, thank you for that.
Rebecca, oh that baby girl, she just keeps getting cuter!
Oh good grief, just looked at the time! Really need to start going to bed earlier!!
Hope everyone has a great day!
Hugs to those who need them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the newbies! And for the newbies, please don't feel that you need to comment on every post, we are a chatty bunch and you would never get anything else done! Please be assured that no one will think less of you if you don't comment on what they have to say, just jump in when something moves you to speak, trust me, that's what we all do!

On your computer, you'll see this, and if you do, simply click Home.

When you click Home, you will go to the main message board/forum index.

    jtmbmp3c070u.png

Then go to Motivation & Support and find the thread ... it should be somewhere on the first page. :)

On your phone, you'll see something like the first image. If you do, you'll see the word Community at the top, then a line of grey icons on a black background. There will be something that looks like a conversation box in a cartoon, a bell, the search magnifying glass, a star and a pencil.

    Click the conversation box.

You'll get a list that says Forum, Recent, My Discussions and Group.

Select Forum, and you'll be taken to the message board/forum index. Go to Motivation & Support and find the thread. :)

There's likely a small syntax error in MFP's code.

Thanks, Machka! I was getting that error on my phone last night, too.

Michele - Insurance companies are different as to what they require before gastric bypass, and most bariatric surgeons have differing requirements as well. Some require a psychologist to sign off that you're ready, some don't. And bluntly, some people pay lip service to what the psychologist is asking for, and skate through the process. While the time with the shrink did help me to understand why I over-ate (to cope with my emotions, to keep myself safe from my abuser, and to keep myself in my neglectful--but safe--marriage so I wouldn't have to do anything about it), the psych sessions did nothing to give me the tools to create a change within my own mind. I'm not sure those psychological tools actually exist, other than inside ourselves.

Deep thoughts at far too early in the morning to be thinking that hard...

Quiet day working at home... hubby to the airport tomorrow at about this same time. Other than that, not much in the offing.

    Love y'all,

<3 Mornin’ ladies! Will be too too uncomfortably hot to garden today, 97% muggy and rainy. Today I tackle indoor projects only.

You all continue to inspire and encourage me everyday.

Sue great report about your eyes. <3

Bea is here while DDIL is up in London appearing on WOMAN'S HOUR. BBC Radio 4. We listened to it. She didn't come on until the last ten minutes, but she did very well and much more relaxed than the last time she was on the programme. It was about her book, The Imposter Cure.
She will be back to pick up Bea around 1pm.
DH is doing his usual sterling job of playing with her. Brilliant work.
I'm just about to start lunch. She loves 'Pesto Pasta'. We will have a sandwich.
