Michele - go to "quick tools" at the bottom of each meal section in the food diary. You can copy a meal from the day before and even a week or so prior. Sometimes at the end of the day I will open tomorrow's diary and copy over all the meals I had today.
Of course you can add/delete/change quantities.
Debby in VA - love all of those pumpkins and a gourds and a glimpse of your beautiful country side. ☺
I think our Tracey in Edmonton has winter weather. Highs near freezing if I recall.

Today is National Chewing Gum Day!
"Humans have used chewing gum for over 5,000 years. They may have chewed it for enjoyment, to stave off hunger or to freshen their breath much like we do today. ... Various forms of chewing gum have existed since the Neolithic period. In 2007, a British archaeology student discovered a 5,000-year-old piece of chewing gum made from bark tar with tooth imprints in it. Presumed to be the oldest piece of chewing gum, it was found in Kierikki, Yli-li, Finland. Made from bark tar, the gum was believed to have antiseptic properties and other medicinal advantages."
I do not like the way it looks and my TMJ issues make it unpleasant to chew gum anyway. But if that's your thing, enjoy it and blow a bubble for me!
We had a crazy busy social weekend so I got way behind on here and didn't even try to catch up. This weekend we're heading out with the RV for a weekend in Lakehills, Texas. The campground has a pool and I'm looking forward to that since I enjoy lap swimming and there's no place to do it where I live. All of this going and doing makes eating a challenge but it's going to be our reality for the next several months so I just have to find ways to make it work. I've mostly been managing to keep my calories in check and stay on track with my workouts. As long as I stay active enough to keep calories in lower than calories out, I don't worry too much about the macros when I'm traveling.

Lanette - yes, now I remember! Gotta jog this old brain of mine.
That must be how I saved a meal, too!
Thanks

Not sure if you remember me posting (in July) that the Police had had to break in my mums house via the back door because her smoke alarm was going off in the early hours and she hadn't heard it (Police alerted by the neighbours). Well the council finally fitted a new door on Friday and today the plasterer arrived to finish it off. The rents are going up, but the service seems to be going down!
Actually I shouldn't complain because originally the date for the plasterer was 18th October, but they had a cancellation and phoned to ask if they could come today.
Can't believe it is the first day of October tomorrow. See you on the October thread.
Love to all

Michele, When you want to add a food to a meal, you click on "Add Food" below the meal name. Then you can choose among things on your lists of Recent, My Foods, My Meals, or Recipes. If you can't find the food on any of your lists, then put the food name in the search box and MFP will give you lots of choices from their database and you can choose one of them. You can change the quantity or weight to match your serving.2

MFP is quite generous with exercise calories, therefore many of us adjust them, or only use a small proportion of them.1 -

Heather a sing-song? In Danish? You ROCK galfriend!
Michele, thanks sounds yummy. Do you dissolve the gelatin or just sprinkle into the blender with the other ingredients? Hope a blender will work, don't have a food processor
Katla Sure hope you got into the dermatologist today, my former dermatologist is not taking any new patients 'til March 2020. (gulp) Safe travels and happy times at destination!
Rebecca just so your DS doesn't get mixed up and give Athena Rose a slice of that jalapeno pizza
Welcome Lisa in IA, CarrieLubenske, JerseyGirl5970
Rita ((hugs)) for Chewy's deteriorating quality of life. It is a hard thing to face.
Surprisingly Joe volunteered to take me out to dinner Thursday for our anniversary (32 yrs married, 35 together, now how the heck did that happen?). He usually resists mightily, maybe a little cabin fever is a good thing. The Dr called and postponed Joe's physical so WE won't go in til the end of October. SMH but gratefully for these changes of mind.
Lighter, lovelies!

Debby in VA Gorgeous fall produce. Loved the photos!
Vicki GI My wording was confusing. What I meant to say was my stepdaughter's husband does not want my stepdaughter & the children to stay in France. He is not welcome there and doesn't like the fact that his parents have welcomed his family (minus him) with such open arms. I don't know that he has any recourse, though, other than pressuring my stepdaughter to come back to the US. She wants to apply for an extension of her visa. The kids are thriving in France with their European grandparents & cousins.

I found that list under “my foods”. But I don’t see any way to add to it.
Also, I’m trying to enter my dinner for tomorrow. It keeps telling me that an entry like mine is in the database, but I don’t see it, not in the database, not under “my foods”, nowhere. HELP!!!

Very tired and lots of aches today so took a day off, added MSM and Quercetin to my smoothy and that helped a lot. Also got Hemp protein, probiotics and red rice yeast mixed into my vitamins (to go in smoothy) for future. I haven't been getting enough protein and suspect that's why I'm so tired - thus the hemp protein. I tasted it raw and it was yummy, so I think i'm going to like it in the smoothy. Fun day for hiking gear! Today my latest eBay finds arrived. Mountain Hardware jacket and Vasque hiking shoes. The Vasques are for less challenging hiking than I was doing last week. They are sturdier than mountain running shoes but less sturdy than my Merrill hiking shoe. Tomorrow I'll try them out on an easier trail (there is snow on my usual trail, but I think it will thaw later this week). Got a crazy low price on the Vasques, so I hope I like them. They were highly recommended on a hiking site. My bamboo liner socks also came, they are to go on before I put on my wool socks. I love bamboo socks. Again, a great buy on eBay from a company I've bought from before.3

Hi everyone, new to this group (or any group). Not new to MFP but haven't used it in a while.
I am 50 and would like to lose at least 40 pounds. My other goals are to track my diet and exercise regularly, be consistent in my workouts, and be in shape enough to finish a half ironman distance triathlon next summer.
A few weeks ago, I did a half ironman aquabike distance (1.2 mile swim & 56 mile bike) and finished it. Super slow and painful, but I finished it. Once I accomplished that, I felt like I could do much more than I have been doing.
I am "retired" from racing triathlon 20 or so years ago. I was once fast even taking home a bronze medal at a World Championship race. I don't want to be fast anymore, I just want to finish and be healthy. I still volunteer coach triathletes and can share lots of tips here for anyone interested.
I have gained a lot of weight over the years and have plateaued at 198 ish. I am pretty small at 5'1". I have tried really really hard to break 200, and it's just not going to happen and I have literally been at this same weight for over 5 years now. I am super lucky that my genes won't let me get any bigger, because I could be double this weight with my poor eating habits.
I look forward to getting to know you. I work full time with two teenagers and will probably have a hard time finding the time to get on here to post, but I'll do my best.

Rho - thank you for the food scale suggestion. Etekcity has some nice features such as a removable bowl.
The one I chose from Amazon didn't come with a bowl . . .

Rejoining the crew after getting back on after 2 years. Felt like I could use the mutual encouragement. This year has been a crazy year! I just adopted 2 children (now 5 & 7), still leading a small private school, and two weeks ago was diagnosed with endometrial cancer leading to a whirlwind week of transfusions, hydration IVs, and emergency surgery (radical hysterectomy). I'm thankful it was found and removed but this recovery period is kicking me!1
