@ZizzyBumble - I bought ice cream last night too. It was the hottest day we’ve had in over a year so I thought it was appropriate.

    @bex953172 - I hope you’re feeling better today.

@teigansdad - I love bagels, they do sit heavy though.

    @aubyshortcake - welcome back.

@Snowflake1968 Feeling much better today, managed to eat quite a bit last night aswell which was good.

Girls got into the crisps today though. I went out for other groceries. Ash was with them, he brought Saskia upstairs just to tidy her room. I got back not even 5 mins later and they scoffed 4 bags.

So they've been sent to their rooms. Took ALL the toys out. They then started ripping off all their bedding so I folded that back into the cupboards and so there is literally nothing in there now. Just beds and mattresses (which are cable-tied to the frame)

    Won't win with me lol!!

I've been looking online too, to see why she might be doing this, what other parents have experienced and how they dealt with it etc.

It just seems no matter how much I tell her off in any way, shape or form it just doesn't sink in? So i need to find a way that does basically.

Feeling much more positive about my parenting today. I slacked big style but im ready to sort it out now, for everyone's sake and sanity lmao

    Tuesday 18 August

    Good morning everyone

    Goals for today

    Log :)
Stay in the green and try to make up for yesterday’s excess! :) But not much of an inroad on yesterday!
    5 fruit and veg >:) 4
    Water :)
    Fitbit exercise goals :)

Waited in today for delivery of my new phone. The phone company said I’d get a text with a delivery slot and would need photographic identity ... nope, no text and the delivery company opened the front door and left the Phone in the hall (around here, it’s normal for the door to be unlocked and for the postman to open it to leave post!)

    JFT Tuesday 18th August

    Log everything yes
Stay in the green no, 46 over, for 2 hours in the evening I thought about cake! Eventually ate a piece, only just over 100cals, but enough to put me in the red
    Back exercises no
    Foot exercises no
    5 fruit and veg 6
    Ironing yes
    Walk no
    Gardening no
    Banking/ parents banking no

I just crashed yesterday. I always sleep badly, but the last week has been even worse than normal. I was so exhausted I couldn't be bothered doing anything on my list. It felt like the exhaustion I suffered from back in March, really unusual. So will try and push through today and see how it goes.

Weekly weigh in day today - 3lbs off! So last week's birthday cake obviously was just a blip :)

    JFT Wednesday 19th August

    Log everything
    Stay in the green
    Back exercises
    Foot exercises
    5 fruit and veg
    Walk
    Gardening
    Banking/parents banking
Mow lawn if dry? Last chance this week, storm coming

    Scale goals
    End of 2017: 174.6
    End of 2018: 189.2
    End of 2019: 196.4
    End of January: 194.6
    End of February: 196.2
    End of March: 193.8
    End of April: 192.6
    End of May: 191.8
    End of June: 192.2
    End of July: 188.6
    Today: 190.0

    Ongoing plans/ideas behind the cut
    1. Purchases: Look for an "ugly Christmas sweater" and a long-haired doll at thrift stores. Practice French braiding. Go to used bookstore and look for On Writing (Stephen King), Dying for a Paycheck (Robin Hardman), The Prince (tr. Tim Parks, Russell Price, or Robert Adams), The Secret Adversary (Christie).
    2. E2: What should the controlling ideas be in a study of world literature? Review world lit options. Create vocabulary lists for each unit that come from the texts used: Animal Farm, Julius Caesar, Wes Moore, I Am Malala. Find a way to incorporate changing words from one part of speech to another. Students need to know how to review multiple sources and synthesize information in order to draw a conclusion. Need practice with the difference between transitions and overlapping (at end of paragraph - "another issue is Y" vs "there are other issues besides X"). Quit using "in conclusion" and "I believe" and other writing-about-my-writing phrases. Confusion between direct/indirect objects and prepositional phrases. Use the UDHR and the Declaration of Independence to study paraphrasing; use that to front-load Machiavelli and how to deal with challenging texts. Confusion between everyday / every day and similar constructions.
    3. E1: Need practice with quoting & paraphrasing sources, identifying claims that would need support, use of last names for reference, and capitalization practice (common/proper nouns, titles). Difficulty using possessive nouns in their own writing. Honors: practice subject/object pronouns (my friend and I / my friend and me). Poetry: Revise "Songs are Poetry" handouts.
    4. Curriculum Development: Writing mini-unit. Review scholarly research on 5PE. (I think I can have this as an intro to the research unit so that they also get exposure to how quotes are integrated and cited.) Parallel structure; use of emotional language, specific detail. Use "Write About a Pebble" lesson from Atwell. How long should each unit take? Do research on characteristics: curiosity, persistence, resilience, creativity, responsibility, optimism, courage, integrity, authenticity, leadership, self-awareness, humility, compassion - others? Include grammarly check on essays! Review assessments. What is the purpose for each unit? What should the controlling ideas be in a study of world literature? Review world lit options. Schedule assessments for Fall 2019; plan out return times. Write 1 reflection weekly; type one in Classroom by Weds. Copy-paste to discussion board for comments due Friday. Homework: Online journal Mon due Tue; Reflection Tue due Wed; C&P journal in class Wed; Comments Thu due Fri. Bonus if you are the first response; further bonus if you respond to comments on your post. Grammar practice Mon & Wed; quiz Fri. Unit plan for research (Idea for regular: comparing same story on sites with different biases).
    5. Professional Development: Write blog post weekly. Comment on 3 posts each week - Tu Th Sun? Check with PSC. Talk with Z about articles and/or conference proposals.
    6. Medical: Dentist call to schedule cleaning. ObG schedule for October. When is re-up with ortho? Schedule PCP for same day.
    7. Theater: ???
    8. House: Siding. Or perhaps bathroom floor.
    9. Fun: Open beading on Thursdays. Coloring at library on Tuesday. Put jewelry away. Edney Hack Nights alt Weds. ASL? Spanish/Portuguese practice? Practice piano. ROL Secret Adversary. Buy bike rack for car.
    10. Volunteering ideas: Theater. Library. Animal shelter. Community Kitchen. Emerge Georgia training.
    11. Family: Book group. Dinners?
    12. Writing: Blog post: Running, Racism and Rum: Learning to Handle Discomfort. Fanfic: Create a scene list for the Batgirl story. Finish the cafe scene for the Titans story.
    13. Other: Practice hair braiding with D. Check on appts for drs. Remind D to ask his dad about the table and check with home repair contractors. 3 posts/week? Create test for MLA format. Create test for infographics and visual information. Therapy exercises: squats, push-ups, ankle lifts, box jumps, plank. Remember that M does not like surprises! Check dates of classes and update semester plan. She Should Run vision statement. Update standards on board. When to change bulletin board?

    WFTY: Progress.

    Are you a regular runner?
Do you have any tips for a beginner?

Like obviously, I can run, but i seem to get sore shins and out of breath very very quickly. So how do i like.. progress from that haha
I do have proper running shoes, which is a good thing lol!

Its something I just want to try, see if its something I can get in to.

My parents do Park Run which I think is a 5k run, every weekend at local parks etc.

I just want to jog around my streets but its very up and down and hilly lol!

My parents do Park Run which I think is a 5k run, every weekend at local parks etc.

I just want to jog around my streets but its very up and down and hilly lol!

Hi Bex, my running story is that I never really felt like I could run. Got out of breath, panicked about my breathing and my form etc and live in a really hilly area too. Then I started doing a gym class which was half weights and half treadmill intervals (sprints or hill climbs but all high intensity). Hated the running bit, still found it really intimidating but I got better at it. Then for my 40th at the end of 2018, my bloke took me to a spa hotel. I went to the gym and thought I’d try jogging on the treadmill for a bit. It felt ok going quite slowly so I carried on to 5K! Was so proud of myself. When I got home I started running outside and built up to running 3 half marathons within that first year. Took three months off after the mastectomy but am now back to running 8/9 miles without stopping so well over an hour/1.5 hrs.

Soooo, long story but the take home is you absolutely CAN do it. People rave about couch to 5K and the Public Health England app is free and has ‘coaches’ like Sarah Millican or Michael
Johnson. I’ve just started that with my kids but for myself, I just took it slowly (really slowly on the hills). Stopped worrying about how I was breathing, or my form, or any technique stuff. Just concentrated on running a bit further each time. And I found I got better and faster along the way....

If Ash can watch the kids for half an hour and you can get that time to yourself you might find there is that mental boost too. I know it really helps me.

    Hope that helps xx

    Today I will:
    - get up with Matt😁

    - start Pinterest course 😁 Actually finished it
    - finish/post blog 😁 With 15 minutes to spare

    - cook dinner (chicken)😁

I almost cried I was so angry yesterday! Pretty much it boils down to the fact that the insurance company cancelled the med order I put in on Monday that had 1 day shipping and replaced it with one that has standard shipping (it's a mail order med company). I called the company and was like wtf? I asked them to change it to expedited shipping and they said that they couldn't. The guy suggested that I call the pharmacy and get an emergency supply. HOW DO YOU GET AN EMERGENCY SUPPLY OF AN INHALER?? I was seriously freaking out. Then I remembered that Matt had a some puffs left over on his old inhaler which is the same medication just a different dose. So he's going to use that and double up the dose. But I was livid. Like LIVID.

But I did get everything done!
I slept super late today so we'll see if I can get everything done today too.

    Onto some goals!

    Today I will:
    - post
    - work in next post
    - read blog about ConvertKit
    - read blog about newsletters
    - write my first welcome email
    - Home Depot for garbage can
    - cook dinner
    - peddle for 1 hour
    - 50 word challenge

    *backs away from your rage*

I'm so sorry that happened. Some people just don't get the urgency do they?

However, im glad i wasn't on the receiving end of your call lmfao!!

    Hope that helps xx

ah no way, it looks unnerving sometimes because I see others and yeah they look sweaty and that but they look like they've been running for miles and i fear I won't reach the end of the street. I may not be obese but im seriously unfit lol!!

My dad is obese yet can run faster (consistently, not a sprint) and longer than me lmao! I was thinking of C25K, does it help or?

But its literally as simple as put one foot in front of the other until you get stronger and more stamina?

    Thanks lol! Helps alot.

Starting this challenege has got me itching to exercise. Im gonna get one of them armband phone holders. (<- do they have a name lmao?) So i can listen to music whilst I run, and so I can track the run in distance/time etc.

@Bex953172 - which daughter is causing all the mayhem is it the middle one? How old is she now?

@littleblackskirt - I hope you have a better day today? What causes the exhaustion do you know?

@clicketykeys - you are working on your CV, are you looking for another position? stay safe with the school back in session.

@HEGoddard0928 - I’m curious what you learned in the Pinterest course. I would be livid too with the insurance company, they should at least call and discuss it with you before making a change that can make someone go without.

I am on my last vacation day today and truthfully I don’t know why I took it. I guess I thought the house would be wrecked and I would be exhausted from having the Grands since Saturday, but we tidied as we went and all I need to do is sweep and empty and reload the dishwasher.

I had so much fun with them the last few days. I have to share this conversation that Michaela and I had. She is 4.
Michaela: Does your jewelry box have a ballerina in it?
    Me: No.
Michaela: How do you listen to music?
Me: I don’t when I’m in my jewelry box. My Dad made my jewelry box for me.
Michaela: He did? That’s so nice of him, did you thank him?
Me: Yes it was nice, and I did thank him.
Michaela: It’s “booful” (beautiful) you should tell him.

She went on to ask me about my Dad and I told her that he had passed away before she was born. She said “oh that’s so sad” and asked me how he died. I told her he had cancer. She then told me she was sorry, that I must miss him. I agreed that I did.

I’m sure he heard that conversation.

She has the sweetest little heart.

Then to keep it fair I’ll share a story about Jonah. He will be 9 in September. It was the hottest day yesterday in over a year so Michaela was playing in the sprinkler. Jonah had no interest in it and was inside watching YouTube videos. He came out and she convinced him to run through the sprinkler. He did and played with her for about 20 minutes. He was fully dressed though in shorts, T-shirt and underwear. I didn’t have a towel outside for him either. When he was done and started heading towards the door I told him not to go in the house dripping wet, that he could strip in the deck and then go in. He was outraged, and asked me what kind of psychopath I was wanting to humiliate him that way. 😂. I guess he’s growing up on me. We compromised, Michaela and I stayed outdoors and he came just inside the door to strip and put his wet clothes in the bathtub.

Well I should figure out what to do with my day.
    Have a great one everyone.
