Marianne- That is wonderful news! We are celebrating with you!

Kelli-Love the igloo. I too loved the clydesdale commercials and was very disappointed they weren't in the Super Bowl. Did you know that there was one born just the other day. It was a GIRL so you will never see her in a hitch. Time for more reading.

Hi everyone, Good morning to all. It's going to take me a while to catch up reading as I'm 10 pages behind. THat's one day. Well, I went to Charlottesville, Va yesterday for my visit to the cancer dr. about the brain MRI. Results were: NO CANCER!! Yes, I am relieved that it hasn't come back but still have to watch for the signs of brain cancer-constant headache, can't walk straight and weight loss(rapid and not trying to lose). See you all later It's been3 1/2 yrs. since my surgery and still have some issues but overall much better. I had yogurt for breakfast-salad from home for lunch and 2 hot dogs for dinner. It's 2 1/2 hrs drive one way if you don't stop so I was exhausted last night.
See you all later.
Marianne,WV
Wonderful! So pleased for you. Hope the symptoms lessen soon.
Regards,

Good Morning!
Marianne - So glad you received good news. Sending hugs!
Michele - My husband died in a motorcycle accident. He was a very young 65 and had been riding since he was 16. We have 3 daughters and 5 grands...we all miss him terribly.
Thank you all for being so welcoming!

Kylia were you recently on antibiotics? I just read another book on the gut biome.
The reason I ask Is you mentioned a fungal infection this can be a side effect from antibiotics. I know your restricted diet is a pain but yeast feeds on the foods you mentioned.
The antibiotics kill off the good bacteria too and leaves you open to that yeast infection.
Getting your gut healthy again will help fight the yeast infection too. Food that feed the good bacteria are veggies and lower sugar fruits like berries and avocado. (yes avocado is considered a fruit) High sugar fruits like ripe bananas fed the yeast. Foods that have probiotics might help too like yogurt with no sugar, kefir, sauerkraut that is in the refrigerated section, Kombucha are such foods.
The yeast infection is partly what is making you tired. A fungal infection can cause the inflammation you are experiencing.
The blood work should reflect what the yeast infection is doing to your body. Your gut is out of balance.
When the fungus is being killed off that will make you feel ill and tired too.
Getting your gut healthy again will also help fight off and keep the yeast infection from coming back. ((()))
You may crave breads, sweets...because that is what yeast feeds on. Knowing that may help you resist such foods.
Stef sorry for you loss. I understand how losing a loved one leaves a hole in ones life.
My way helping myself is filling my days with things fill my soul like my painting, my singing, and my subbing.5 -
Got a little behind so below from Wednesday. Catching up later.
"Todo"s and "done"Done: enter MEFCU & Thrivent 1099s, start entering charitable deductions, chiropractor, call for invoices from Dr and Electrician, more veg prep, Shingrix cost $163@ Freddie’s, Line Dance.
Bonus: set up part D profile/login,

Pulled up my big girl panties and wrote that Thank You note: “Dear X, I will think of you when I read the magazine. Hope all is well with you and yours, Barbara.” The card is cute and simply says “Thank You” on the front and “very much” inside. Stamped and mailed. Thirty.
Heather you made me laugh with “dogs barking” because our dog has taught new pup to bark. She’s hypervigilant and barks at anything that’s moved, changed or new. This morning it was the Dutch broom dangling from the drier’s vibrations. Yes we occasionally hear dogs, chainsaws or gunshots from the next ridge, but never hear screeching/roaring traffic, neighbors’ music/conversations/fights, and rarely hear airplanes/helicopters overhead. Those are the noises that used to shred Joe’s nerves. Sometimes we can hear the surf. Peace. Oooh that Duoro river cruise through vineyards sounds perfect. Now I’m craving port wine, stinky chees and salted nuts, not a good thing at seven am. So happy it all fell together so quickly and well. Hooray!
Machka your university is fortunate to have you to give them such very well informed feedback. Ah yes, the puppy telegraph! Grateful it’s only occasional here, and usually a warning to bears/cougars/deer/coons. Is triple 0 the Tassie equivalent of US’ 911 (emergency fire/police/ambulance)? Beautiful view!
Margaret I’m tearing up at the three affirmative gifts you gave that young man, and hope to hear more of your future interactions with him. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Sue in WA ukulele classes are popular here too, and it’s something I’m considering. Let us know how you like it?
Teri I’m in awe of your Africa room, right down to the animal prints in the quilt.
Barbie your Fit and Fall Proof class sounds great, especially the music. No music in our BB&B, would conflict with our coach’s “loving suggestions”
Allie proud of you for submitting the application and resume. Fingers Xd that is the right job for you and that they know how lucky they’d be to get you.

All we hear where we are are the sparrows and pigeons with the occasional seagull. No traffic. Just one motorbike that goes past the front at 7.20am. We often speculate as to who he is and what his job is. The first day we moved here we sat at breakfast and said, "Isn't it quiet!!!" My worry is what will happen when either side of us sells up. Both houses are not modern and I can see whoever buys them wanting to do a complete renovation. We had more than enough of that at our last place. Landscaping is a noisy nightmare. Oh well, perhaps we will have to go on a permanent cruise.
Had a lovely fishy lunch with my friend and went for coffee afterwards to a new café. Good long chat. Sorted out the world.
I'm on the train now.
Much love, Heather UK XXXXXX4 -
Marianne Great news about your health!
Kylia Patrón is OK? I think you have a doctor with a sense of humor.
Heather I'm so glad you had a good visit with your friend!
Barbara Yay for writing the thank you note. I know how hard that can be. I'm not good at it.
Margaret Painting, Singing, and Teaching sound like food for the soul.
NYKAREN So glad your challenging week is over. It sounds as if you survived admirably!

"Todo"s and "done"Done: Tumble to groomer, BB&B, Grocery Outlet, Freddie’s for biscuits, mail thank you note to C L, Dollar General for Amy’s bday card, pack walk, more veg prep.
Bonus:
ToDo: invest 10 mins VACUUMING dining room, carry over 10 mins cleaning GuestBth and Living Room, schedule DEXA scan with CHN, finish charitable deductions, download and input mortgage 1098, Shadow to Mini Pet Mart to shop for crate, Freddie’s for complete series TDAP, Woof for gift card, recycling, bake bran muffins, call Carolyn D, call Well Care for TDAP and Joe’s new/old eye drops costs. Next week get Shingrix vaccine. Reward: inventory seeds, plan garden, order replenishments.
Gorgeous day, partly sunny, 50 degrees, no wind so no excuse not to go to dog group.
Leash arm is irritated and painful so took Tumble to dog group instead of Shadow. She behaved beautifully! Only barked half a dozen or so times, and at that only once each. Walked loose leash, thanks to walking buddies Michelle and her Banjo at least as much as the Gentle Leader if not more. One of the leaders commented on how “perfectly” the four of us were walking together. Those who were with the group on Tumble’s first days/months all smiled and congratulated us. Felt pretty good. Came home tired and hungry to be surprised by Joe who’d vaccumed the Living Room! Let me skip cleaning yesterday without feeling guilty.

Welcome Stef from MD, Jackie in OH!
Debby in VA, scary flu death statistics. Hope your GS recovers quickly with no complications.
Rebecca and LuciB and Karen in VA OH those grand babies! KJ where’s a recent pic of Joaquin and his baby brother? Karen in VA more Olivia please!
Rori so glad the staff at Vets Club know how to phase in/deal with expected reluctance. Couragia!
Allie ((hugs))
Pip [shudder] People just don’t SEE even when they’re looking. Is there anything more you can do? A day-glo banner/flag? A recording you can blast that yells “Watch out, jerk!” ?
Kylia ((hugs)) Glad your Dr. really listens to you, well done for writing your list of questions.
Marianne rejoicing at your good MRI news!
Today expect to finish taxes, will take “cleaning breaks” to catch up.

Rebecca: Athena’s sweet face is the best thing to see first thing this morning! Thanks for sharing!!!
Allie: Is there another dentist in town? Maybe you can find a nicer boss.
Marianne WV: Congrats on NO CANCER!!!!!!!
Stef: Sorry for the loss of your DH.
Heather: Some years back I read a story about an elderly woman who went on a cruise ship as her primary residence. When the ship was in dry dock she stayed in a hotel. She said that the ship was much more pleasant and less expensive than assisted living places.
I have nothing on my to-do list today. I’ll be starting the day with making sourdough pancakes for our breakfast. Since DH is not able to digest wheat, this sourdough starter is based on brown rice flour. It is tasty but more fragile than wheat-flour based sourdough. Our first experiment was waffles. They tasted good but tended to tear when we took them off if the waffle maker.

Thundering and Raining Cats and Dogs Here in Atlanta!

Rained two days straight here on the island! Uck! Down a spits throw from 5 lbs! I can feel it just moving around. I shall get to Onederland, I can see it, sceptre in hand, a tiara on me head! Wait maybe that's Disneyland.. 😁😁.
I have about 5 letters to reply to this afternoon, that should keep me busy! I'm making some tilapia fillets, with rice and sauteed bok choy.. Then yogurt and my snack of a mini cup of guacamole and 6 Triscuits! Hopefully that will add up to about 1200 calories, I haven't logged it today.
One of my pen pals wishes to know about the nudist resort we went to, her and her husband are interested in attending one. That should be a fun letter to write huh! About this time of year I do miss feeling sun!
Well gym time!
Hugs, glad ya love my Athena as much as I do!

Jackie- Welcome. Your little town sounds wonderful.
Allie - Hugs and lots of support to you.
Rori- Hang in there. You're doing the right thing.
Marianne- Great news!
Pip - I understand your frustration and am also worried for you. Please continue to be careful.
Unfortunately, drivers in autos seem never to see 2 wheeled devices. My mister has seen many motorcyclists get hit in rush hour traffic. People are in such a rush to get to work, it seems. He has toyed with the idea of getting a motorcycle for the commute so he can split the lanes, but I am adamantly against that.
Today I am focusing on not eating the Nutella treats I made yesterday for World Nutella Day. I sent most of the cookies off to work with the mister, but kept the little puff pastry Nutella treats. They are too good to share.

Allie (((hugs))) it is so hard to be stuck in a soul draining job.
My "job" is writing, but I have been taking a break. I never get much done in the winter. Lately I have been especially sedentary. So glad I have you ladies to inspire me to go to the gym. Otherwise I wouldn't leave the house.
Night driving is one of my problems too. I was thinking today that I should practice driving to the gym at night because I know the way so well. It's hard to decide when to quit night driving entirely. It really cuts down on my activities in the winter.
Later today is my horseback lesson and tonight is dumbbells in the basement. I have to be strong and slim for my dude ranch trip end of March!

Wow! 168 posts behind! Sorry. We actually had a small blizzard here Tuesday. Largest snowfall they’ve seen in Roswell for years. 6 inches! Schools closed for 2 days! I know, I know not much. I come from CT so know and laugh but understand the reasons.

After ten days of pain, yesterday’s endoscopy showed I’m the proud owner of an ulcer. We have to wait a week for biopsy reports, but doc doesn’t seem worried so I’m trying not to be. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks!8

Rebecca: You will have earned your crown and scepter when you arrive at onederland. I think you’ve earned the crown already. When you reach your goal & get your scepter, you can bonk your menfolk with it if they get out of line.
Karen in VA: Olivia was a sweet baby and is gorgeous at 3.
Rita: Snow in Roswell? WOW!!!
Sourdough pancakes for breakfast today were yummy. They were made with brown rice sourdough and cooked on a cast iron grill on our stove top. This is our second effort with brown rice flour sourdough. The pancakes worked well & easily. When we used the waffle maker during our first experiment, the waffles tended to stick. We’ll try the waffle maker again and be sure to use enough canola oil or margarine on the grill to reduce the chance of sticking. We don’t use real butter because it gives me a serious gastric issue. I can buy lactaid milk at the store with no problem. I can also buy margarine, which we use regularly. Butter is not on the list of possible choices. I have read that it may not cause problems but I’m not willing to risk giving it a try. :noway:

Awe Katla, bonking menfolk sounds absolutely perfect! Its really nice to eat food that I totally love! When we're in the Mom phase we mostly eat what one kid wouldn't, or there's more of. My food desires went out the window! So now its empowering to eat what I like, and when I want to eat it! I still fix husband and son's meals, but only after I have eaten! I am having a blast fixing food again. I get excited prepping it.💖

My only advice is do exactly what the doctor recommends and don't stress out about it. Take your waiting time and recovery one day at a time.
