WELCOME TO ALL THE NEWBIES!
Machka Beautiful picture!
Karen So sweet asking for Iris pictures! She is my world right now!! Can’t wait to start playing with her daily Monday!!
Rebecca Adorable Athena! My eldest niece was walking (and could sing all the words to “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning”) at 9 months. Some children are just ahead of the game!! Athena is one of them!
Kylia My daughter is 35, and has said since she was a young teen she would never have children. They wouldn’t perform a tubal on her, but she still has no desire to have children. My eldest son has his 2, and now the youngest has his first of 2 or 3 he hopes.
Allie Hate that your work is so hard on you! I hope you find something else (easily) after you return from your vacation!
Marianne Singing praises that your MRI showed no cancer!! That is fantastic news!!
Stef So very sorry to hear of your husband’s early passing! We have several widows in this group. Glad you have your daughters and grandbabies.
We’ve had rain like crazy (6.5 inches in one day) and then snow Saturday. My basement was a swimming pool…ugh! My cousins in WA have said it is flooding badly there, too. I notice many of you on here are having a lot of rain, also.
Karen Olivia is such a doll! Rough start to life, but she sure looks healthy and happy now! Lilliana is precious, too!
Rita Beautiful snowy shots!
Rebecca Athena is always so adorable!! I love the wonder in her eyes…Oh, to be young and innocent!!
Viv Sorry to read of your fall…hope you are better by today. (I am 3 days behind on reading.) One of the things about being “over 40” is that taking a tumble is a lot more painful than it used to be! Looking forward to seeing the new floors.
Machka You remind me of my running days when I was a kid. We loved/hated the University stadium steps. It was a terrific workout. I would be lucky to be able to walk more than one flight of stairs these days. My favorite cardio these days, dancing with and playing with my grandchildren!
Kelly Joaquin & Miguel are too cute! Really got me smiling this morning!
Rori Wow! That’s a lot of snow!! We get so little in this part of the country, it’s hard to remember that other areas are still getting covered with piles! We had snow all the time growing up in MI, but I know there was usually more out west!
Amber I’m picturing JR not letting you take his old shoes…lol. I hope he enjoys his new big boy Mickey Mouse shoes!
Kylia You have stopped eating a lot of foods and are drinking your water! No wonder you are losing so well! I have stopped losing for a while (and have even picked up a couple of pounds). I am frustrated as I feel hungry and I want to eat the foods I have been missing the past year…but I know if I start again, I will be right back where I was 45 pounds ago!
On page 24...hard to keep up when I am a slow reader.

Laid in the sun then went in the pool. Took a donation to the charity place here and, of course, I had to go in. Got 2 shirts. Not sure that I need them but I liked them.
Went to the movies
Karen VA – was that shredder the kind where it shreds the paper in one long strip? If so, I really like those for our ceramics.
Welcome everyone new!
Lucy – look at Iris’ eyes. You are SOOO lucky.

Not particularly looking forward to this coming week.
I've been enjoying the long weekend even though most of what I've been doing is writing my exam.
Tomorrow, all the busyness starts again ... one thing after the other all week long.
Oh well ... one thing at a time.
Machka in Oz
I think I've made it through the busiest, most complicated morning of the week. The rest of the week is busy, but hopefully not quite so hectic.
Of course, the last thing we did this morning was stop for lunch, and on my way back from getting some napkins, I tripped and slammed my elbow into a high table and immediately slammed my arm down on the table trying to catch my balance. My right arm is quite sore now. But I'm moving it, so I'm sure nothing is broken ... probably just bruised.
Now I've got to figure out where I left off of work last Friday!
And what I'd really like to do is to take a nap ... but I don't get to take naps.

Terri, I'd love to watch figure skating with you. I watch alone and my husband asks "are you finished with the skating yet?" Right now I'm watching the Four Continents Championship. I've watched enough over the years to know the names of the skaters. While I can't help being a bit partial to the US skaters, I like so many of the skaters from other countries and admire the skill and artistry.
This afternoon, I got very drowsy on my bike while watching skating so I went and lay down and slept for over an hour. I was probably extra tired because I stayed up late watching the Academy Awards. I had actually seen three of the movies that had nominations---I liked one, tolerated one, and quit watching one in the middle. Only one award was given to someone I would have chosen.

Barbara - I hated living there as a teenager, we were 7 miles from town. We couldn’t do any extracurricular activities after school because we only had one vehicle and Dad had it at work. We (Rodger and I) we’re given the opportunity when our girls were little to have two acres given to us if we wanted to build on it. I didn’t accept, against Rodger’s wishes as he drive truck and I didn’t want to be that far in the country on my own. My parents and grandparents were there still and I would have had help, but I didn’t want that life. Now I miss it.
Michele- Rodger had been complaining of stomach issues and headaches for probably 4 years. He was self diagnosing as well and refused to see a doctor. I was sure the headaches were blood pressure and stomach was diet. Since he’s been to a doctor in November and is being taken care of he has learned I was right. I understand your frustration with him saying it was something he ate. Rodger was doing that daily to me.
Sue - what a mess to come home to. I hope your electric doesn’t need to be upgraded.
Ginny - I of course don’t have the insurance woes that you do, but that sounds like an amazing plan you have . Is this through your employer benefits?
We had the Grands for supper, I made a healthier supper tonight and of course they voiced their displeasure. My coworker and I were talking today about our Grands. She has a 5 year old granddaughter who is quite advanced for her age. She spent the night on the weekend and when my coworker was trying to get her to eat seafood she said, the only seafood I’m going to eat is Goldfish crackers. This cracked me up as I wholeheartedly agree with her.

Tina in CA- that looks like so much fun! I need to put on my bucket list. I would love to go, dress vintage, dance, see cars, enjoy bands. I hope you have a blast! The crowds make me nervous, but I must overcome that at some point in my life!
Luci in WNC- Iris is adorable! Tonight i WANT sugar! Off meds right now, so i am sure that isnt helping. My dr is speaking with rhuematologist next week for next steps. I still think it is yeast bloom, she is unsure. All i know is that for now, i can't have some of the things I love because I feel much worse after eating them. And i am tired of hurting and lacking energy. I promise to keep y'all posted.
Machka- Oh No! Ice that arm and elbow. As Luci said, we don't handle falls as well as we use to! Hugs!
Michele- sounds like you are having fun.
Today's high was 46F. Valentine's day high forecasted is 15F!
Speaking of tired....heading to sleep.

Os ars Women’s health care product ad that was rejected 🙅♂️.Graphic for men lol so make sure the big babies aren’t in the room. I showed it to hubby but only cause his reaction is hilarious to me lol 😂.
Luci- wasn’t easy to get those shoes away. He grows so fast got to do it again in 2months I bet (That’s his average between growth spurts every 2.something months ). Good news is this new pair I have an identical next size up!!! So will be easy. After that hard since He’ll be in adult teen Sz 1’s-5’s then adult men’s section 5-up. We all know men’s section y teems do not carry Mickey Mouse shoes .
Amber Tx
Found out the Oscars who allowed many times a men’s errectile disfunction as turned down a Woman’s post birth care items ad (the site has stuff for healing to post pard help). Sounds about right a man getting better woods medicine to products are more Important that women being pointed to a site for Women’s health products for after having a baby. We wonder why we go to a doctor try to ask about peri menopause get silence or called hysterical .Maybe these ads should be along with other health care ads so it’s not such a curtain pulled suffer in silence with zero clue if things are normal or not thing. Of course I’d make it a little less grafic I thought but then thought well our period commercials aren’t very lady like either lol 😂. Yet got a man proud as can be talking about his disfunctions on tv to YouTube my email ads every second of the day must be billions of them!3 -
Tere: I am always pleased to see your posts when you have the time to stop by. It looks as though things are going very well for you. Good news!
AprilMasson: Welcome to a great group. Stop by often and get to know people.
(((Sue in WA))): I hope your challenges with the new water heater resolve quickly & hope it earns its way by providing all the hot water you need for many years. :flowerforyou:
Today was a good day. I had a great time at my yoga class this morning. This afternoon I had a doctor appointment. My doctor was pleased with the selection of supplements that I took for her to see. She suggested that a glass of red wine in the evenings would be a good practice. I am on the right track! YAY!

Singing today!
I had a good day food wise yesterday. No alcohol. Let's hope I can do it again today. I feel uneasy when my eating and drinking get out of kilter. It's ok for a special treat, but the special days were multiplying.
I will weigh myself tomorrow if I can keep the sodium down today. It's six weeks or more since I stood on the scales.
Morning cuppa time.

Good morning all. It's been snowing heavily outside and it's piling up on the window sills. We don't often get snow, and I don't relish driving through a blizzard, so I may give Craft Group a miss this morning. Lots to do at home.
Tina: 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 for the property sale!
Sue in WA: Isn't it annoying the way things always seem to cost much more than expected. I hope you have no more nasty surprises in the near future. We have daffodils and tulips in flower already, poking through the snow at the minute.
Ginny: I think I might follow your example and cosy up with a book for an hour or two today.
😍😍😍😍😍Soooo many lovely babies!
Barbie: We don't have sports on our TV so don't get to see much competitive skating. However, Dancing on Ice is on at the moment, so I am getting a weekly fix. I skated as a teenager, and took up figure skating and Ice Dance in the late 80's. Helped with the local Skating Club. Had to give it up after a ski-ing injury in my early 60s.
Just got a call from our craft group convenor to say that most people are giving it a miss so definitely having a duvet day!
Machka: Ouch! Hope that arm is just bruised.
Amber: 😂🤣🙃 Shoe wrestling!!!

Amber Dealing with postpartum realities is pretty lonely. Not many people are practical enough or even willing to help a new mom with her body, at least in the USA. Very few husbands. Maybe one's mother. It's no fun. Having a baby is hard on a woman. Most men don't get it. Or maybe don't want to get it. Most just want their women to deal with it and not share. And for God's sake don't make them think about it during the Super Bowl.

Just a quick hello, was skimming through the posts, and saw a post about the flooring, here goes SuzyQ a pic, we've still got the baseboards to put back, but they need trimming first (which I hope DS will do tomorrow)
I'll try and find a pic of how it looked before, you can see the new units - dove grey, maybe not the best colour to choose with a dog with a shaggy waggy tail
Love to all
Viv UK8 -
viv nice flooring, looks great.
Wet wet gray days all week. I’m lucky to have dinners all made ahead this week and DH and I cuddle up with new star (to us) Star Trek discovery series. That’s about as exciting as life gets for me right now and I’ll take it!

Tracey-yes, insurance is through employer. It can be quite expensive here in the states. We are providing the more traditional plan (which I have) and the Health Savings Account option-which is becoming more common here. It can work well especially for those younger and fewer health issues. My oldest son has one of those. I didn't switch to the HSA since I am so close to retirement, I won't have opportunity to bank up that much in funds. But our insurance is one of the great benefits we offer.
Viv UK-your floors and cabinets look very similar to mine!
Off to get ready for another day. Get to go explore two buildings we are going to remodel with the architect-that should be fun. One is a quite old historic building that I really want put back to use.
Take care all,

morning ladies~ I am dressed and having my tea..watching the local news, and I will pick Dan up for work and then go get homer outside.. then will see if Trudy wants to hit the senior thrift shop and then come home and figure out our new program at work..and put my resume on indeed..a rainy yucky day3

Viv UK, The floors look great. Thank you for sharing.1

Nice flooring Viv. I like the colour, goes well with the units.
We should really replace our kitchen floor. It's cheap laminate and not in perfect condition. In fact, the whole kitchen is boring, though functional. DH would never see the reason for new units etc, but he might see a new floor in his future. I just read endless decor magazines and dream.
The rest of the downstairs is real wood and very, very tired. Ideally it should be stripped back and refinished, but I truly can't stand the thought of the mess. If we decorate the living room it might get done because everything would have to come out anyway. I'm afraid I've just got lazy. It would be a project and I don't think we could agree on colour schemes etc. Nor do we want to spend lots of money. I am dreaming of a new rug though.

Happy Tuesday!
Sue-that sucks! Just an fyi, an electric water heater doesn't recover as fast as the propane one does. We have electric and it is usually fine for both of us, but shower timing can get tricky if have guests. Hugs!
Viv- I love the flooring. Is it vinyl plank? We put vinyl plank in our kitchen 8 years ago and I love it! It still looks brand new even with 2 giant dogs.
Terri- inside sounds great! Can I come cozy with you? I really don't want to go to work today man, that sounded whiny......Mother Nature needs hormone pills!
Maybe I can get my act together today. Head hurts. I have a list of to dos to get done at work before Spring hits. I need to give myself a kick in the ......
Welcome to the new ladies!
Stay safe in your endeavors today.
Know that I think of y'all daily as you inspire me to be a better me!

HeatherUK- our home is also mainly wood. Any changes are difficult for us to make together. I want a new couch for living room. We can't agree on anything! The funny thing is, he rarely sits in there-grumble. We have oak cabinets in kitchen that I want changed. I think the change may just be hardware added. I will try to find just a couple of options then present them to my husband. I will say that after Sara passes (my senior dog), we ARE getting new carpet throughout. Most of the carpets are from 1990s. They are past due! That will be a fun decision. I know not too light and not too dark. I probably ought to start looking now
Ginny-you aren't kidding about the expense of insurance! It is really bad as a really small business. We looked at HSA plans as money saving for company, but it didn't save much for us. We are traditional too. Your comment about age difference made sense to me.

Will take the Power Hour class today. The plan for tomorrow is to do a downloadable spinning workout.
M – please take care of yourself. Get better fast
I portioned out my Cheerios last night but found out that I really shouldn’t do that down here. Even one day and they are a bit soggy. Not so bad that I can’t eat them.
Tracey – after Rodger acknowledges that you were right, does he at least try to change his diet? Vince doesn’t. He keeps eating the same old thing only it has to be from a different batch, etc. He doesn’t know that many times it isn’t, I just tell him it is.
Kylia – in some ways it seems when I’m down here I’m almost constantly busy. Vince likes to stay home and relax. To him, that’s a good vacation. I like to experience new things
Viv – do you know that we have a small piece of baseboard that came off in the kitchen quite a few years ago and it’s STILL not put back. You have no idea how many times I’ve mentioned it to Vince. It probably would only take 5 minutes to glue it back, but it STILL isn’t done. Most of the flooring in our house is light wood. I wish I could find a cleaner that would repel water marks for a long time. Lovely flooring
Allie – I repeat…doesn’t Dan have two feet????? If you keep dropping him off/picking him up, where is the incentive to get a new car?
Sue – this is the first time in a long, long, long time that we’ve been on city water. For over 30 years we’ve had a well. It’s such a good feeling to take a shower and the water pressure doesn’t change if you have the washer/dishwasher going at the same time.
I forgot how much I sweat down here. I know it’s because of the humidity. So I’m going to take two water bottles with me to exercise today
Oh, Vince is going to see if they need a sub for the bowling here. I hope they do, it'll make him feel good. While he's bowling, I'll probably bowl a few games myself.
Later ladies.
Michele in FL who will lay I the sun later. I REFUSE to go home white

Oh, I was right. A rocket did go up the other night. There was a headline in the paper yesterday "did it go up". It was scheduled to go up around 11, which is around the time I heard it. It went up too late to make the deadline.

Try putting your portioned Cheerios in the fridge. It should keep them from getting stale. Either that or toss all the portioned bags into a Tupperware bowl.
On showers with a well, We don't have that problem because we have a large holding tank. We can shower while doing laundry and running the dishwasher with no problems. We added the holding tank after we bought the house. Best money we ever spent!
Okie in the TX Hill Country4 -
Allie- I agree with Michele. Dan is an adult. He makes his life's choices. It seems to me that if you keep making the consequences easier, he isn't going to change. Maybe there are more circumstances that we are unaware of, but enabling bad choices doesn't seem to be ideal for you or him. Our granddaughter (16) missed the bus twice coming home (too busy with boyfriend to pay attention I am sure) The second time, daddy told her she walks if there is a next time. She is a little over a mile from home so not really an issue, but boundary set. Hugs as you deal with son and work.

Well he will be out of luck next week when I go on vacation.unless he has something worked out.. he is not using my car..and I have a feeling he thinks he will stay at my place e while I'm gone as it's right across the road from work...nope not going to let him do that either.5

Kylia I hope you're not coming down with something! I was thinking about Sue's hot water heater situation and your comment on recovery time. We really like our tankless hot water heater. The initial outlay for Sue would be considerably more, but in the long run, it's hard to beat a propane tankless hot water heater, especially if combined with a recirculating pump. The hot water is always hot, instant, & endless, and there is no recovery time. Ours has paid for itself via energy efficiency and water saved.
VivUK VERY pretty flooring! It looks perfect! What is installed in the toe kicks? It's intriguing.
Heather I'm envious of people that can DYI-decorate-on-a-dime. I know a woman in Charlottesville, a ceramics/pottery artist, whose house is whimsical & charming due to her creative talent. (Big sigh.)
NYKAREN Your prepared dinners & Star Trek plans with your husband will chase those wet grey days away! We have wet grayness here to, which we are planning to dispel with our sunny Lilliana!
Irish Terri Duvet Day! Sounds lovely. Would love to see some of your old skating photos.
>>>
Lilly won't be here for a couple of hours so I'm off to get all my chores out of the way! xoxo
