Did a Body Attack DVD. A bit on the fast side, but very doable. The plan for tomorrow is to do the Gift of Yoga DVD (this is a new one).
M – the problem is that Vince isn’t always with me. Like this morning I’m going to go to WM to get my prescription. He won’t be with me. And if we do that before, I know me and there’s no way I’ll be able to come near judging how far six feet is. But thanks for the tip.
Lanette – oh, that’s great that we might get back to normal. Let us know what the Dr. decides. In some ways I’m thinking this is getting over media hyped. We had the R1N1 (or whatever it was) and Sars and we never had this. Everything wasn’t shut down, people walking around wearing masks, keeping their distance. And we managed. I think we just need to use a little common sense, use wipes when going to the store, wash our hands, cough into your sleeve, then what will be will be. I can see certain people being more susceptible, those with chronic illness and those with a compromised immune system. But the same thing would be for the Sars and the N1R1. Not everyone walking around wearing masks and gloves. Maybe what will come out of all this is that people will not suddenly hoard things but always be prepared for at least some time so you don’t need to run out quickly and you can be mindful of other people, take only one or two of something, not 15. Instead of packing people in like sardines, places like Disney and airlines will give people more room.
Allie – I agree with katla. Your family should understand and they WILL be upset with you if you don’t tell them. Also, by not telling them, you’ll be sending the message that it’s OK for them not to think of your health,
Amber – why did the doc tell you to self-isolate?
Annie DE and Barbara – how do the police enforce this roadblock thing?
Barbara – I never thought of “how big”. Thanks for the smile
Just found out that as of 5:00 Monday, NC is going to a stay at home. So far, there are only 9 confirmed cases, but I really don’t want more so stay at home to me doesn’t sound bad
Got a lot of the leaves out of the pool, cleaned the wall between the spa and the pool, added bleach and salt, the ph and acid detectors are in, changed the apple juice in the wasp trap, found that we need a new thing to clean the filters. The one we have has teeth that go between the folds in the filters to clean it. It’s attached to a hose. Works fantastic for something like $21. Also, the tank that holds the acid, it’s top has a slight crack in it. Don’t know if you can buy just the top or not. Will have to look that up. Tomorrow going to put up the speakers, the clock, see how the levels of salt/chlorine are doing, probably put out the umbrellas (we put out the furniture today). Found that we had another brush, so now we have two, probably put out the flamingoes (ceramics). Wish the ceramics place was open so I could finish the Snow White and 7 Dwarfs
Was looking at the chart M posted about where there are cases of COVID-19. It’s interesting that there aren’t and deaths and very few confirmed cases on islands (St. Kitts and Nevis, Barbados, etc). I guess a lot of that is that they don’t allow very many people to come there and they really screen the people who do.

Michele- I was born with health issues (I was born extremely premature was sent home to die- no NICU for what I had as a baby back then now so much they can do ). My grandma was a head nurse of a hospital she kept me alive, grandpa with old Native American remedies to Jewish prayers, Dad let me sleep on him (before anyone knew about skin to skin contact being so positive).
My immune system is weak I catch stuff easily so in the winters I wear a mask 😷,but when I don’t I end up hospitalized or in the ER on very strong medications. I also dehydrate easy cause my body doesn’t absorb nutrients well or water. The Csection being so extreme weakned me even more (when I started MFP I could barely walk was just a pitiful shuffle then rest) . I’m asthmatic to stomach issues y chronic pain with hypertension still (didn’t shake it off after JR diet was helping but now Cant get those foods). I’m High Rish category also why I don’t have insurance they charge me more than a family of 3 here in Texas. My husband y son can get insurance pay less than me by myself. JR was 2yrs old still when this hit here Doctor said it’s deadly for ages 4 y under due to them being so little not enough equipment to fit them properly as this gets worse. Pediactric doctor called after she heard I was worried about the appointment y ER Doc (I got treated for sinus infection at the beginning of this) both said self isolate to prevent us from catching it...they were already seeing what this stuff can do. Pediatrician saw me in the hospital before y after having JR they know how sickly I get their actually more worried about me than JR they kept saying. I’m also deadly anaphylactic to the flu shot 💉 so double reason I isolate in the Winter especially now need to for safety.

Hi All! I've been reading, but not having the energy to post. A few comments that I remembered.....
Tracey, LOVE the Newfie face time! lol
Lisa, you're absolutely right, there are many more posts than usual! Your sister's comments leave me speechless...
Penny, so good to hear from you! Those coloured ice balls are amazing!
Cheri, also good to hear from you! Glad the cancer was found so early and successfully dealt with. You are one tough lady!
Sharon, happy to hear that you have had a food delivery and that you are healing well from your emergency surgery. Scary stuff!
Beth, happy to hear that your pastor has seen things from your side!
I'm still working a few days a week, down from 29.5 hours to 12.5 and probably down to 10 next week. Bless the owners of our storage facility, they are continuing to pay us as tho we were working our regular hours. We are being very proactive on the cleaning end of things and social distancing is very much in practice. It's been a pretty steep learning curve, but it seems to be working. The boss has a table right at the door with a bottle of hand sanitizer and a sign stating to please use it or please use our washroom to wash your hands before we can help you (from a distance!). I have not been to a grocery store (or any store!) for just over a week. This is so NOT ME!! lol I'm the one who shops the flyers every week and hits the three major stores in my immediate area, but not right now. I have started a list, but until hubby or I run out of milk or yogurt, there will be no shopping trip. And even then, it will be only one store that I hope will have at least most of the stuff that we will need/want by then. I figure we're good for another week or so. I'm so grateful that I tend to stock up on stuff like tp when it goes on sale, we will be allright in that department!
Katla, I'm quite surprised that stores in your area are still out! I know the shelves on many stores here were pretty barren, but they do seem to be restocking on a fairly regular basis, or so it seems.
Quiet day in the house today, I'm the secretary for our strata, we had a quick council meeting last week, just the council, no guests! Anyway, I got the minutes typed up today and sent to the other council members for approval. Also got our taxes done, getting a refund (yay!), but not a sizeable one like in previous years. Oh well, at least it's a refund! Also submitted chiropractor receipts to my extended health provider (thru work - yay!). That is always a challenge as I tend to forget how to set them up properly on the computer so that the company will accept the format. It's really easy to do once I do remember, it's just the remembering part that I have trouble with lol!
Loving the funnies and the baby pics. Haven't seen the grandkids for so long! Sure am missing them, but will just have to buck up and deal with it.
As for the news broadcasts, I watch our local news at 5 pm, til about 6, they give the island, provincial and national stats as well as any new restrictions, the "normal" type thing associated with C-19. The sports broadcaster has started a new thing, if I remember correctly it's called Upbeat, but he talks about various things that people are doing to keep themselves and their kids entertained and also stuff that people are doing to celebrate our hard working health professionals and all others who are deemed essential (think grocery store workers!).
Hugs for those needing them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the newbies! Stay safe and healthy!

Yes waiting for the Dr to call back...that way I wont be fibbing...
Think Tracy will ask my Ex to watch Tal ..and he doesnt go out anyways.. but he will be 69 April first .. I honestly don't think either of the kids have thought about us as older and worry about the safety of us. I know my daughter doesnt trust Taliah to be home alone at 12 .and they dont make enough to pay for childcare.. so that's were grandparents come in...
Well I am.tucked in and watching tv6 -

Michele NC
I understand, Michele. I sometimes think we are all over-reacting, but I remind myself that I am not on the front line. It is easy to forget or be ignorant of how bad it is when you have been in your house for a week. It is also important to remember that we haven't even gotten to the worst of it yet. The worst is still a week to two weeks away, according to the projections. And there could be waves of social isolation for up to two years.
Also, no one has anything to gain by lying about it.
The following got a little dark, so I put it in a spoiler.I got really offended yesterday by one of my co-workers calling this a "virus scare," as if it wasn't really anything to worry about, and that all our efforts are for nothing. That we are all somehow being conned by someone, somewhere.
The article Karen posted was really helpful in walking through the reactions we might have to staying home, in thinking we are wasting our time or that because it is going to continue to get bad, it isn't making a difference. It does make a difference.
I think I mentioned before, I am cycling among three emotions: denial (It's not really that bad; this is just a bunch of hype) to acceptance (It is as bad as they say, but I can do my part by staying home and not risk infecting someone much more vulnerable than I) to panic (OMG It's so much worse than they are telling us, and it is going to mutate, and just keep going around and around the world, and there will never be a vaccine, and this is the end of the world as we know it.)
When I am panicking, I comfort myself with the fact that over the course of human history, we have experienced so many horrible, population thinning events, and yet, we survive. So I do believe that, ultimately, we will come out of this, as a species, on the other side, stronger and better able to combat the next virus/plague.

I’m Officially lost on who’s restaurants y who’s grocery stores anymore here y who’s both in my 🌃 city. Tried the pizza no contact delivery to test it out (CONS had me sign a receipt 🧾with pen y paper plus they of course touch the box with no gloves on except when making it. / Plus stands far away by the cars when you open door sticks pizza on their bag sitting on the ground with sticker on it to show only the one making it with gloves opened it. ) I think it still needs work. Learning curve.
Daughter had a tiny hand sanitizer so now got 1 big full bottle after joining them all. Then added antibacterial hand sanitizer to the big empty bottle so best of both worlds

If you aren’t leaving your house, why do you need sanitizer? Soap and water is the first choice, and you are home, so why not just wash your hands?

Hi folks. Don’t have time to read or comment much as I have been gardening and walking in the sunshine. In lockdown this week. We are staying home, except for infrequent trips to the shops for essentials. Practicing extreme social distancing on our walks. Fortunately we live in a quiet residential area, and local residents are acting in a responsible and considerate manner.
Take care and stay safe.

Barbara I'm glad I'm not the only one whose mind went there when Michele said she had to rely on Vince to tell her how long 9" is. I started giggling and couldn't stop.

Amber Save your gel. Okie is right. Good old-fashioned soap and water does the trick.

Glad my post helped with strengthening resolve to stay home and know every small effort saves lives. Here is another compelling video to further reinforce. I posted this earlier after Lisa posted about Emily Landon, but it is timely to repost and well worth the few minutes it takes to watch all the way through. Point is, for most of us, if we do this right, it's going to be boring and anticlimactic. The model citizens are those who stay out of the public and away from extended family. If you stay put in your homes and neighborhoods, you are a true patriot.

I agree! We're in a pandemic. Each of us can say whether or not we feel comfortable going out and we can be open and firm about that.

Today's Savor: Went on a walk with my partner & Yorkies, across the dam of our neighborhood pond. A territorial Canadian Goose successfully chased off other male geese that were too near his mate. He literally ran on top of the water as he shooed them off, and was in full threatening posture with his neck bowed, beak thrust forward, and wings wide; using his outside voice at full volume. It was thrilling. Even Yorkie Mabel was impressed.
Today's Gratefulness: Grateful that I still have marketable skills at 65. 2nd day in a row for that one.

I gave up trying to find santiser some time ago and went for the soap. There were a whole bunch of "soap-free" soaps, but there were still some real soaps available and so I bought a couple packages of those.
This is the poster up in my office and I do this several times a day such as before I get on the bus, after I get off the bus, before I go out anywhere, after I get back from anywhere ...

JRs skin Condition https://www.madeformums.com/news/mums-plea-to-help-cure-son-of-debilitating-eczema/
This is just 1 of many instructional papers Doctor gave us is just for the Secere Eczema not the Severe Keratosis Pilaris caused by the severity of the Eczema
Can’t save the gel or antibacterial soaps I use it after JRs poop Orr when treating his severe eczema /severe Keratosis Pilaris rashes to keep it from spreading to his skin breaks. Without all we do to keep his skin condition controlled he would be able n/out of hospitals wrapped like a burn victim. I have stuff to make more that’s why I know the recipe to make it. His teacher someday for kindergarten will have to use hand sanitizer nurse too if they put a bandage on him or his skin breaks can get infected. Another name for keratosis Pilaris is Chicken Skin cause it look red bumpy.
Plus Hubby still working even in hospitals 🏥 to Bases so if he runs home to grab paperwork or anything he hand sanitizer then grabs it leaves.

AmberMy oldest granddaughter still struggles with severe eczema, adhd, and auditory proccessing. Of course at almost 17 y/o, she is old enough to put on lotion on her own and she doesn't understand that those smell good soaps aren't good for her. I am constantly putting lotion on her and myself when we are together. It gets worse in winter. Having to use sunscreen for flag Corp helps keep it at bay in the summer. I have mentioned to my daughter that granddaughter needs to be allergy tested....that fell on deaf ears for many reasons-grumble. Kind of like I requested almost three years ago that granddaughter get to an orthodontist. Papaw was/is willing to pay, but.......no appointment yet. Now that will be awhile......
Good feeling story- couple getting married tomorrow. They are live streaming their pastor on a big screen on the deck of their favorite restaurant. The wedding guests will get to drive up, skip spaces, stay in cars, witness vows, pick up little Debbie cakes as they drive out. Imaginative! Reminds me of Amder's uncle and church.😎
Stay safe!

I don't know how the roadblocks work. Just that my cousin's daughter reported one.
I need an intro level low impact aerobic exercise. Maybe just marching in place? Would that replace five minutes on the elliptical at the gym? I am trying to strengthen a weak knee and burn calories at home. I already do dumbbells and calisthenics on Tuesday Thursday Saturday, but I used to do the gym Monday Wednesday Friday. 5 minutes rowing, 5 min elliptical, 10 min treadmill then 10 mins bike. But not anymore 😔.

I never think of Newfoundland Dogs. I don’t know how to describe the people of Newfoundland (Newfies). They are just down to earth generous people.
There is a documentary that played on PBS not too long ago called “You are here; a come from away story”. This is about Gander Newfoundland and how the community reacted and showed love to thousands of strangers when they had all the planes land on 911. This is now a Broadway Musical. If you can find it on your local PBS station it will explain what a Newfie is.
We had some good news today in regards to our car. I took it to a guy to look at it after it left me stranded at work last night. Turns out it was a bad cell in our newish battery. It was still under warranty so it only cost me 20 for him to look at it.
Because I had to go to Costo to get the new battery under warranty I took the opportunity to grab a few other items we needed. My daughter who is recently married to the EMT took me this time. So I’ve been fortunate to see both daughters this week. She is very concerned about Brodey bringing something home unknowingly so has not left her house Since her last day of work. She sat in the car while I went into Costco, I apologized when I came out as I felt I took too long. She said that’s ok, I sat here and watched al of the people with masks on going in. Not one of them were wearing them properly and it made me angry that these people have masks to waste and our Healthcare doesn’t have enough.
I have to go into work tomorrow for a few minutes to train a new guard to keep our facility locked down
Tracey in Edmonton5 -
Annie- Road blocks you pull up wait they ask questions like where your going y why. If working have a boss use company stationary
Write that your a —grocery, nurse, etc— worker with numbers will speed it up. If going to a grocery store happen to have the canvas bags set them in the seat next to you say I need groceries (if taking care of elders say that too with the word grocery)
Julia Ohio- Yes JR wants Daddy cologne cries cause we tell him no. Hubby applies me to to our lower undies region cause he can’t come in contact there. It’s just safer. Of course hubby puts on more cause he worried the smell won’t waft upward lol reminds me of my grandma back when she was alive the whole bottle splashed everywhere even her hair (his is just in hidden places ) . JR having the Oilaris it needs scrubbed y avoid things that you Need for eczema. The Eczema you cannot scrub only a soft sponge or hand to clean not rub hard the keratosis creams flare it up.
So Doctor y me got together I formulated my own lotion out of many with doctor adding too until we got it right enough. His cheeks still break out badly tho. His constant growth hormones trigger some of it to even stress like a Doctor giving shots can flare it up. Doctor comes in a sea his stethoscope 🩺 instant tears flare up in 3minutes his clear or semi red cheeks turn bright red crack start to bleed of immediately can’t calm him y apply ointments. Then takes weeks to get him under control again (next shots age 4) . Truck for Dentist we found he Loves Toothbrushes so give him a brush then check him he so happy about the toothbrush he forgets to cry 😭...salty tears effect it so I have to calm him y smooth even to sleep still. It’s a lot the wet soaking y wet clothes then take them off creams y Casals e to seal it in. Change clothes fast to diapers a few minutes can be bad! My poor mother-in-law had to be harsh until she understood her leaving him in a wet diaper too long was why he was at the doctors. Once she understood she checked like me continuously (it seems weird to folks but have to check even slight wetness is bad). His poops they can burn him so fast if it’s hot, diahreah,or even soft so drop everything to wipe even if he’s not done sometimes. A lot of work but worth it for him not to hurt. He even told the dermatologist hurts pointed to his cheeks she cried me too y hubby. Got urea creams to steroidal ones. So many a few we have to avoid (made it worse). Washed hands rash infection spread we found if I wash use a tiny bit of the hand sanitizer after poops or rash cream applying it didn’t! Keep in mind lots of are soaps are for him so we have to remember to use another type for us y his wipes are alcohol free so it’s not killing stuff (but alcohol ones peel his skin off a burn that’s dangerous in diapers! ) .So clean him apply creams, wash my hands with antibacterial or real harsh soaps 🧼 then a dab of sanitizer to my hands can touch him again. I keep peroxide to witch hazel also for emergencies with his skin to me running out of sanitizer. Got too he will not grow out of this the worst was teething phases to diapers. So once he wears underwear with zero accidents that will help a lot for some of it but then the risks of school kids having perfumes at different ages to playground without a bath after. Going to be hard but ready for it.
