Had a rest day yesterday exercise wise and back on it this morning and feeling fabulous ๐๐๐
Weigh in day tomorrow so being good with the cals today ๐6 -
Having fresh strawberries growing in my yard! I am trying to get more fruit in. Got a bag of frozen fruit medley that I was trying to eat off and on. The blueberries were nice and sweet but the blackberries and strawberries were tart. I could eat it if I had to but I gladly trade up a cup of fruit medley for a cup of fresh sliced, still warm from the sun, strawberries!
I also learned this week that one slice of pizza had 475 calories and over 900mg in sodium! But a large salad, with crutons (4 tablespoons even!), low sodium dressing (Vidalia onion...so good!), an ounce of cheese (Irish, sharp cheddar), and three egg whites (fried. No oil) AND a cup of strawberry slices on the side gave me about as much calories as the slice of pizza with 300mg in sodium less! Which one is more filling? A large salad and cup of strawberries or one (1/8 of the pizza) slice of pizza?5 -

I sometimes split the difference with pizza. One slice + side salad. Eat salad first and save the yummy for last!5 -
It is my weigh in day today and that has worked as my motivation for today because I lost 2lbs ๐ฅณ
I'm so happy that I'm heading in the right direction again.
My calories are set at a 1lb loss per week but I really got back into my exercise as well as calorie counting last week and burned hundreds and hundreds of extra calories off which helped me lose the 2nd lb.
8lb to go and I will have lost the 10lb that I put back on and will be back at my target weight ๐ ๐ค10 -
Today my husband and I helped a neighbor on his homestead tear down a large chicken run that included cattle panels, posts, and 2 x 4's (it was a fortress made to withstand bears). It took us 3.5 hours total. We did get two truck loads of seasoned fire wood as payment. I don't know how you'd log that as exercise but I was sweating my back side off by the end of it all. I just logged an hour of general gardening as my exercise. Helping a neighbor helped me get moving today.10

Planning my meals out this morning before I did anything else and focusing on the realization that my eating junk food is ruining my health.7
-
Asking for help on another thread and getting help from other users. Not a good day today but I will start again tomorrow as I don't want to ruin the work that I did last week.9
-
Some self care and self talk is what worked for me today. I gave myself a good cheerleading talk and pumped that positivity right back up again ๐ฏ6

I realized that salads with protein for lunch and cutting desert at night leads to getting the weight off.7
-
So, I eat the same thing every day or a slight variation. I drink my coffee/ protein shake for breakfast.
I eat instant grits for lunch.
I eat 400 grams of fruit/veggies with chia seeds for a snack.
I have dinner and then I eat random amounts of green grapes, cuties, cucumber.. stuff like that between dinner and bedtime. Itโs all healthy. Itโs all raw veggies or fruit but I dislike not having an accurate count.
What worked for me today was when I was cutting up/ measuring my first snack, I just made two containers and logged everything in advance. I think thatโs a better idea than just guesstimating how many times I ate 4 grapes or two slices of cucumberโฆ7 -
Logging everything first thing.
Exercising.
Gardening.
Housework.
A busy day should keep my mind off the snacks.
Weigh in day tomorrow, need to be good ๐5 -
2 hours in the garden, shifting 3 tonnes of gravel - on my own ๐ช๐ฅต4

Losing another 1lb this morning. Only another 6lb to go to get back to my target weight. In yer face Covid!! ๐คฃ10

Good suggestion - but sometimes a loaded salad IS "the yummy." One thing that has worked for me is learning to make flavorful dishes with healthful ingredients that taste so good I turn my nose up at the commercial crap.

I burned over 400 calories from exercise yesterday. As someone who is ramping up after being inactive for a long time, that's a lot for me.10

65 minute walk in the glorious sunshine. It really set me up for the day!10
-
Last night I didn't want to go for a walk. It was an hour past sunset and 96ยฐ!! I told myself I didn't have to walk--I just had to get across the street to the park. Once I was there, I could turn around and go home. Of course, once I was there it seemed silly not to go ahead and get my step goal. My dog was VERY pleased.11

I upped my water intake. I realized that some of my "hunger pangs" was my body telling me that I was dehydrated8
-
I'm doing the same as Bellissima today. I have taken my eye off the ball in the last couple of days as far as my water intake is concerned and the Snack Monster raised its ugly head last night and it got the better of me.
So more water and more protein and fibre for me today.9 -
A bus strike worked for me today because it has meant that I've had to walk everywhere!! ๐8
-
Definitely tracking my water habits has helped4

Bringing a mini-fridge to work to keep in my office. Now I can prep my breakfast and lunch for the week on Sunday to bring Monday morning and stock in the fridge. Saves me from grabbing unhealthy food on the go because I had no plan, time getting ready in the morning by eliminating packing food, and gas on my lunch hour going to out to lunch.8

Saved some calories for Thai food. It was healthy and filling, and felt like a treat since I love it!4

Yummy ๐ I love Thai food too.2 -
I had an apple with a teaspoon of peanut butter instead of reaching for the bar of chocolate. Really tasty and much healthier!4

Thank you, I'm OK with peanut butter. It's Lotus Biscoff that I can't have in the house. One teaspoon of that turns into half a jar!! ๐ณ๐คฃ1 -
Making sure I have healthy snacks ready and eating lots of protein and fibre. A long walk and an upper body dumbbell workout ๐ช4
-
Planning and getting my exercise done early.3
-
Yesterday was tough but I made it work. I was super hungry and wanting to eat all day. I managed to limit the damage by having one small snack that only put me 100 over my calorie goal. Then I did more exercise than planned to make up for it too.
Learning how to handle imperfect days is an important skill for me to develop.10
