Found them all very quickly Machka, but I never did find your four leaved clover!!
My 5k was fabulous! We went round the least populous end of the promenade and it was fine for s d. There is nothing like the sound of waves breaking on a shingle beach. I've got a nice little route now which takes me across the grass of a small park, then around the lagoon, then along the promenade until we get to a small, terraced garden which I run around and up and down some steps, then back past the fish market and back across the park. In the terraced garden their are some succulents which are just coming into yellow flowers and the park has marigolds.
DH is now cooking his apple and blackcurrant dessert (another reason why he's a keeper, Karen) and I will start on my left over lamb curry, with spinach and peas.
Our soup and trout lunch was extremely tasty.
I am going to make a phone call to my old uni friend this afternoon.
This morning I did my exercises, some memoir and then paid my credit card bill. I had to get the figure on the phone as the actual paper bill has not arrived this month. I borrowed the money from my savings as I hope to get it back from Saga. Then I will have to sit on the phone for hours to claim back the overpayment. Grrr! Oh well.
Much love to all, especially those having difficult times.

Machka ~ I love the challenge of that painting!
SuziQ ~ Your daily "grateful" statements are inspiring.
Karen VA ~ I have used the Flonase spray and have recently started using XYZAL plus generic Singulair at night. As long as I stay inside, I can handle the allergies.
I am able to order groceries by Instacart and they will be delivered on Friday. Just hoping they are able to fill my order!

Easier Face Mask 😷-
Some are trying the harder patterns y cute look we can’t all do that one. Godmom tried a harder one I’m again suggesting an easier one. Her harder one has failed in trying to make it. Can look ugly just as long as it protects who cares. Fold shirt like Military suggests sew 🧵 around to look like this add strings or ties.washable bleachable easy quick to make thick .This is what old Doctor masks used to look like it’s for patten ideas just Ignore who he is This guy is from a man selling ones to a hospitals or giving to

It's Monday morning here!
Kim - great post about starting a garden I read yesterday that pipe cleaners also work to provide a "clip" to secure the mask to the top of the nose. The article recommended twisting a couple together.
Karen in NY - ONE surgical mask? ACK! My retired nurse walking partner said she'll be content with a bandana a la bank robber style. Easy enough to toss right into the washer.

What I don't like about this staying at home except for essential shopping thing....I used to do my grocery shopping very early in the morning, few customers. Now it's hard to predict since folks are free to shop any time of day. They are invading my space! Glad it's only once a week.
What I like about this staying at home.... I don't have to think of an excuse to bail out of lunch invitations. This introvert is delighted! I plan to milk this for a long time,

Margaret - I have un-followed, blocked, or put on a 30 day "time out" just about everyone on Facebook and Twitter, even good friends and relatives. I am over-saturated with tales of panic, blame, hype, fear, doom, conspiracy, being offended, rehashes of what was on the news that I'm supposed to be incensed about. No wonder the suicide/domestic violence/mental health calls are spiking.
If it's not funny or silly or cute puppies and kittens, I don't want to see it. We are watching reruns of Hogan's Heroes, Dr. Pol, Port Protection.
Chimney sweep is coming this morning and I'll be busy moving my little tomatoes out of the garage/grow lights into the greenhouse. DH will be mowing.
Dogs will be banished to the bedroom. Once the sweep starts his mega-vacuum we won't hear a peep outta them.
Make it a great day, ladies!

IMO there is no more of all that. It is what it is and it will be this for a long time. It's time to settle in and get used to this new normal. And it's not so bad.
Instead of spending so much time driving or travelling here, there, and everywhere, it's a time to stop.
It's a time to get things done at home, to catch up on rest, to spend time reading and doing quiet activities ... a time to get outside in our local areas for fresh air and exercise. A chance to get to know our neighbourhoods.
If we think about it ... what did the pioneers in North America do in the winters when they first ventured into the prairies? Didn't they do something similar? Didn't the snow and cold bring a time to stop and stay home and rest?
I get regular updates because of my line of work. I have to pay attention when they suggest closing hospitals or turning hotels into COVID-19 hospitals because these are things I need to be aware of for my job. But outside of that, I don't pay too much attention to what's going on because it actually doesn't matter. I just need to make sure I'm complying with whatever the law says ... and I need to carry on with my work and university ... and husband and kitty.

Good Morning
The sun is finally out after a wet start this morning, we got soaked walking the dog at 6:30 am, Leah loved it though, she was getting a bit sick of lead walking, so enjoyed a good run about.
Didn't get any gardening done yesterday, I'll try this week if the weather stays fine.
I ordered some ready meals on line for my mum, they have arrived this morning, they look okay and seem to be good nutritional value. I'm going to take them over to her and give her the brochure so if she likes them I will order some more. It's called Parsley Box, my mums friend recommended them when I called to thank her for the card. Might even try them myself
I didn't do the 'live' exercise with Joe this morning, but will watch him later.
I was watching an old episode of Miranda yesterday and it was so funny DD came downstairs to see what I was laughing at. Might try to find more episodes, I could do with a good laugh
Well better get the meals to mum and go pay her rent.
Take Care!
Love to all

PS My sister in law (with cancer) is feeling down, has anyone any ideas of things I could send her to help lighten her mood a little. I know she is really struggling at the moment, she had been advised to sign a DNR form in case she needs to go into hospital, but with the corona virus they are not sure they will even admit her. I'm sure this is a formality, but it has made her quite depressed. I wish I could go see her but this is not possible at the moment. Thanks in advance
>>>
Viv Your sister-in-law has good reason to be feeling down. It is a stark reality that physicians have to decide who to treat now. Healthy young people will have top priority. If I were your sister-in-law, I would want someone to talk to over time about dying, someone not be too quick to reassure, someone I thought could handle it. And I would want that someone to ask me if I wanted to do (or redo, in my case) my Five Wishes document. Maybe that person would want to fill out their own Five Wishes document at the same time, so we could talk about the shared experience of doing so.
I know you were maybe wanting something else, so here is one idea: make up several Jared boxes (but for an adult) and send one to her periodically along with a nice note. Stuff she might like. I would want a coloring book and colored pencils, something that smelled nice, a photo of someone I love, something irreverent, something to read, teabags, a peppermint candle, my favorite peppermint soap, a puzzle book or puzzle gadget, a slim ink pen, some high quality cards I could write notes on, favorite snacks, a luscious pear, a worry stone, a pocket angel…I could go on. Hopefully you know her well enough to know what she likes or can find out from other family members.

On Facebook I love the Garden ones live our Arboretum and Missouri Botanical the give you virtual tours. Most of my friends post positive or helpful info so I do go to Facebook to keep up with some of my friends. I agree the negative ones it is best to hide and it that doesn't work unfriend.3

Machka: I walk our dog in our neighborhood. It is a pretty walk and there are no crowd worries. There is a public park at the end of our road and it has been lightly used. Yesterday the dog and I encountered one person and the social distance was more than adequate. I love the coping calendar & will print it so that I can put it on my bulletin board.
Amber: I was surprised about the tigers, too. I watch several zoo shows on Animal Planet. There have been shows from New York, the mid-west, Florida & Australia. I saw one from California but only found it one time. I also saw shows from the Chester Zoo in England, but not since before the Covid pandemic. :flowerforyou:
SuziQ: I loved reading your gratitudes. I think it is a great idea to focus on things that are positive.
Viv: Can you set up facetime talks with your sister? We have them with our son & our daughter frequently. Ours are all handled via iphones or ipads.
Karen in VA: Our governor has been doing an exemplary job for us during this crisis. She’s acted wisely and promptly to manage the challenges.
Kate UK: I’ve never seen a bush like the one in your photo. It is beautiful. The leaves remind me of rhododendrons, but the flowers are completely different. Karen’s comment about laurel seems like a good possibility.
Lanette: Our local Safeway store has set 7-9 am on Tuesday’s and Thursdays as Senior hours. I’ve been there more than once and it has been a positive experience. Other days and hours are open to everyone. Some of our neighbors are shopping at Fred Meyer. They call in an order in advance & the store has a shopping service that will bring the groceries curbside to their car. They pay via credit/debit card at curbside. This has been true since before the virus outbreak, and it is intended to help those with health problems. :flowerforyou:
I miss seeing my friends. Telephone is better than nothing, but it has been a LONG time since I got to spend time with Arrow or the friend who owns him.

So far 1 cat indoor one y 3 indoor dogs have caught it they made sense they were alone with a body. Barbie your husband making bread, awe, he's quite a keeper. I made bread once and killed the yeast. The loaf was about 4 inches thick. I came home from work and my dear husband had eaten half of it! He said it was a wonderful dense bread. My sailor, his taste buds can't even detect a bakers' fail. Lol!

Did SBG Total Body DVD, probably won’t keep this one, too easy. The plan for tomorrow is to do Cathe Friedrich’s AfterBurn DVD. I seem to remember doing this one and it was pretty good.
Kkjelson – welcome!
Made the chocolate cake we’ll have for Easter and then freeze it. Also tried making the chocolate pudding again, this time with more cornstarch. I’m thinking that I need to incorporate the cornstarch more. Maybe the next time!
Margaret – loved the colors in your painting. I love anything that is very colorful
Starting going for a walk after dinner. I just gotta get out of the house! They did find a mahjongg game online (I’d forgotten that this is the one I used when PJ was born and I was in DE) so we’ll probably play tonight which means I won’t go out for a walk.
Vince was just telling me that in DE now if you are from out of state, you can get stopped and if you aren’t there for serious business, you are to leave the state and/or have a 14 day quarantine. Is that so Anne? If this is so, wouldn’t it be funny in a sense if Denise had this party for PJ and most of Pete’s family who lives in the Philly area couldn’t come???
When I went to Food Lion the other day, they wiped down the conveyor belt totally in between each customer. I liked that. Wish more stores did that. Yes, M, I agree that the lower traffic IS nice.
M – which mahjongg site do you use? We use Real Mahjongg Online. If you use RMO, what is your name on there?
We had to go to the post office and when we were coming back Vince commented on how you are seeing a lot more people walking now. I mentioned that some people used to go to a gym, but now it’s closed, others are working from home and now have time. Guess he just didn’t think of those things
Lanette – love the smiles
Lisa – can you still order the GS cookies online? If I’m going to get them for Vince for Easter, I should get my order in. I know they’re only available to a short time, but I don’t know if they’ve extended it so you can get them online. What’s the link again? Thanks

Viv Don’t worry, the grass will still be there tomorrow…that’s what I keep telling DH as he struggles at not being able to do everything yet. I feel like this is a time to do what we can and focus on the truly important things in life. My focus is becoming more about loving others, staying calm and strengthening my spiritual life. Having so much uncertainty in the world seems to put it all in perspective! Don’t know of any suggestions for your SIL. I feel for her. It’s hard enough for healthy people…with cancer it is exponentially worse.
SuzyQ I really feel for you and the other widows in the group! I am so grateful to have DH. It is difficult to engage him in any deep conversations these days, but I cherish the time we have together and especially having him hold me before I go to sleep. I would miss the closeness!! My sleep sounds a lot like yours. It has improved with a light weighted blanket. It’s like getting a hug. I got a throw because the cost was so much less. It works great.
Oh Lisa!! Such a precious Baby picture!! So innocent and perfect!
Kim CoVid or broken neck…it’s a tough call. I made a mask and haven’t solved the foggy glasses problem.
Sharon Glad to see you have the weight loss under control. Scary when you drop a lot of weight quickly after surgery!
Thank you, All, as I know you are right about not being with grand baby. My dilemma...everyone else in the family was with the infected family so we are the only unexposed. Don't want baby around them...this is really rough! Wish she could stay with us, but Mommy and Daddy would never be able to stay away from her when she is so young!

Michele,
I had not heard that DE was stopping folks from out of town. I can't imagine stopping I 95. But I'm watching less news these days. I had to cut back for my own peace of mind.
Annie in Delaware6 -
JanetR and Luci - thank you for the comments on Levi. I told his mama, he'll be the one who takes care of her when she's old. And to both of you, my thoughts are with your families.
Michele - the link you wanted: https://www.girlscouts.org/en/cookie-care.html Cookies can be bought for yourself or Vince, bought to donate to organizations, or sent to the military overseas. Thank you.
Back to work, jiggety-jig.
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR6 -
Annie I am with you. I watched the news early on so I would know how to best protect myself and family. Now I think it is just a waiting game to see how well people complied with the measures and so I watch less news now too! If there is a major change I do read the newspaper daily and will catch it with that.
I am spending time with son who just got out of the hospital. We walk twice a day up to the lake by his home. I tried to walk the paths neat us yesterday but it was harder to social distance here. Some are better than others following this mandate. I have a zoom meeting with my painting group of Mondays and Choir on Wednesday and watch Church service on Sundays. Trash and Recycle go out on Tuesdays. I am also going to start my seeds now. The coordinator of the painting group started hers about a month ago and they looked good. My friend who is a master gardener cautioned not to start too soon because they might have a hard time hardening off. So these are the things that are helping me stay in sync with what day it is and to fill my days with people and activity and not food.

No one cares about long grass especially for older folks not a time to worry about it just cut the animals area y backyard for kids. When grass is so high you can’t wait any longer cause it would clog a mower only3
