    SUSI Q ~ I think the advice to have Dave cut your hair outside would work. All the barber shops, beauty shops, nail shops and gyms are supposed to open here on Friday. There is a lot of criticism of the governor doing so.

    Barbara, Ella is my dog and she loves chasing and is a great rodent catcher. Maybe she is part cat because she brings them to me and proudly throws them at my feet when they die and aren't fun to torture anymore.

    Karen, I would have loved your help with the clematis. It is amazing the roots are spreading under the ground on both sides of the fence. I only have a few of the thicker limbs to cut down and lots of cleanup to do. But on another subject ..... I love that you sent your hairdresser $$$ and asked for a on-line lesson and love that you sent your housekeeper $$ she would have earned if she'd been able to work. So thoughtful.

    SuzyQ, On the hairdresser issue, I've the same dilemma. I have gone to the same woman for many years and we've developed a friendship of sorts. She called me and asked if I needed a haircut. I said no because my DH has heart failure and spinal and lung issues, so we are totally isolating. I know she needs some money coming in and I love the idea of sending her the $$$ I would be spending and telling her it is advance for when I'm again able to get my hair cut. I've already taken the scissors to my hair and it isn't such a bad job..grrr*#%@*.. The check to my hairdresser is in the mail with a note and I sent her a selfie of my new cut so she'd have a good laugh.

    Lisa, Karen, Barbie and all....thanks for the idea of paying in advance and I kick myself because I didn't think of it.

    Barbie, I quit feeding the birds several years ago here because there was no way to keep the seeds off the ground. I think bird feeders might very well attract rodents. Unfortunately the neighbors across the way have a huge feeder and it attracts all kinds of critters. Our yard won't be very inviting to any wild critters when I get done with my clearing.

    @SuziQ what about buying a haircut in advance? Pay now, cut later? That's being suggested to keep restaurants afloat. Then you can use the gift certificate or not or pass it on or whatever.

    @Michele i think lilies of the valley need to be in shade

    We feed the birds here and yes, it does attract rodents. It also attracts squirrels, which I don't consider rodents, although they technically are. I enjoy watching them and I love seeing their babies come into the yard every year. They don't bother us otherwise. Well, they eat the flower buds, but I honestly prefer having the squirrels to watch. The rats on the other hand are a huge nuisance.

    @Michele that sounds challenging with Jess and Colby. It sounds like Jess really wants to or thinks she wants to be with Colby for now anyway.

    @Amber i love the zoom video thing. Funny! I had a zoom class that was so so today. Living in a city center my internet has been good but not since yesterday. Regularly it freezes for 10 seconds several times during a zoom class. not ideal for a class i'm teaching, but that's how it is. Today 2 of my students at least were a bit bothered by family members. One about 19 shares a room with her older sister who kept bugging her, talking and coming into the image etc. and the other had a cousin w whom he had a bit of an argument (who was using the computer) mid session. we all laughed good-heartedly about that. it was ok but the regular cutting off is a pain. somethings are kind of hard to do on zoom.

    had a nice day. working is better than not working these days with confinement. full week.

    i have some kind of a rash on my upper back thigh, just a bit more than a square inch now but seemed to start as much less, just below where thigh becomes butt. i tried to make an apt with dermotologist but impossible, except online. I don't want an online apt to diagnose a skin ailment. That will depend on quality of photo. Not reliable. Last summer i called this place and they thought i might have bedbugs when i sent them a pic but when i caught one (they are slow) and brought it by in a jar (joy!) it was not, but was just a tiny beetle. these specialists misdiagnosed online. same possible w skin thing.

    so i made appointment we GP who's seeing people live. For many basic skin things GPs have seen them.
    i thought it was nothing passing thing but it seems to be getting bigger and i have no idea what it is. doesn't look familiar and it seems to be expanding. boring sorry. i kind of figure at present, if anything is not COVID it's not serious but leaving everything but COVID to fester for months is not ideal either...

    i'm not watching the news as much anymore, about changing laws and policies; I get fed up. france is really not doing great in terms of transparency, planning, and management. they say one thing one day then something else a few days later with no consideration for what they said a few days previously other than trying to talk their way out of their last mistake or change of discourse. it almost makes no sense to listen because there is little link between what they say and what they do and what is recommended...

    Karen - You need to download Zoom onto your computer or ipad/tablet. I have mine on my tablet and I haven't yet invited anyone myself, just clicked on the invitation email from my friend. Then you have to click various things like video and audio and after various false starts you are suddenly there! Hooray! For the kids DH answers the email on his laptop.
    On my tablet I can't figure out how to get the screen to split into all the participants. We are four. But it doesn't really matter because each time someone speaks the camera switches to them. With the kids we only have one participant. For the group ones you get 45 mins free. For one it is unlimited.
    The strange thing is how tiring it is, even if you are enjoying it. ;):*:D
    I have seen more of my girlfriends during the lockdown than I have since was were at school together. :p It has been good for reconciling me with my difficult friend. And the kids absolutely take it in their stride. <3
    I am a technophobe, so if I can do it, anyone can.

    SuziQ: The first bandage is off of the dog and we’ve given him his first soak in hydrogen peroxide. He is resting. :smiley:

    Barbara: Our dog missed his appointment for a grooming the other day. We didn’t think they’d be open and assumed . . . The parking lot was jammed and I’m happy enough that we let that one go by. :ohwell:

    Barbie: It seems like your local bird feeder is not very astute. Drawing rats into the neighborhood isn’t good for anyone. Is there a homeowner’s association officer who could give her a call? Good luck. :flowerforyou:


    Regarding feeding birds. the only feeders we have are for hummingbirds. The feeders attach to our windows so we are ble to see the hummingbirds. They live hear year around and are especially needy during the winter season. :heart: We don’t put out birdseed any more because we realized it attracted mice and rats. They are not welcome. :noway:

    Flea- he looks like my Dad he asked to come visit. Had to say no for now hurts both sides but it’s for the best to protect him y JR. We have 21-40 cases in my tiny zip code that have been confirmed they keep finding more him stopping at a gas station ⛽️ could hurt Dad or JR even. MIL also sad missed JR.

    Well Alfie is comfy.. he is snoring lol..
    Watched a few to many episodes of my 600 lb life..and freaked myself out a little..
    I did make more macaroni salad and dropped it off to my friends..
