@Elise4270 in-line skates are the devil. I fell one time going off a curb, it hurt so bad but I was acting too cool, I got up headed on my way. I got around the corner and sat down and cried ha ha

@janejellyroll I talked to my boss this afternoon he said 25% of the project was the start to come back, it'll be a few more weeks until we add more people. I'm like cool I like have half the building to myself since everyone coming back sits downstairs and I'm upstairs LOL

@Elise4270 , @skippygirlsmom , @Avidkeo , & @PastorVincent Thanks for the advice on the watch. I may contact Garmin. I have a Samsung so it isn't the iphone issue.  And I don't think it is the phone. I first noticed it when my alarm didn't go off and that is set on the watch and not through the phone. It's not a huge deal,  but I use the alarm feature a lot. So far the alarm works with sound, but I want the alarm to be silent. They probably won't do anything, since it is out if warranty but it won't hurt to ask.

    Great news @Scott6255 !

I had forgotten to take water with me. Every store I went into, I would think, "You need to buy you a bottle of water." Every time I got back in the car I would think, "Shoot. I meant to buy a bottle of water."

I wish I did not fully understand how this could happen. :D

@quilteryoyo It wasn't bad food... I literally eat the same thing all the time. It is only a question of what cut of beef. Even then, it is often ground beef anyway. The food was just a vector for whatever bacteria or virus I ended up with.

@quilteryoyo the shoe photos is actually after my 30 minute, 1 mile walk. There is a smudge of mud but I’m still happy. The shoes are comfy. I may try to get away with making them my clinical shoes next semester, (they aren’t technically one color... so, I may get corrected).

@skippygirlsmom aw! I understand crying after the in-line skate fall. That spot is a low spot, obviously with the mud, and it’s a corner with a rocky creek on one side and trees on the other. I ditched in to the grass before it to stop and landed on my left kitten so hard, I’d swear I broke it. I got up, like nothing and skated right back to the car and talked myself out of needing medical attention. I can’t say that I’ve been on them since but refuse to part with them. Maybe next time I hurt myself on them I will.

@kgirlhart Garmin has an online contact. I just shoot them an email and they get back. Be great if they have a fix for you!

So this morning I got out a squash ball and really took to the knots in my leg. The pain is only low level, about a 2 or 3,but still really niggly. Went for a 5k run. Then attacked it with the squash ball. Omg.

The pain levels when you hit the knots, ahhhh. Shot up to labour levels! And the feeling of the muscle twanging over the ball.... And it was tender for most of the morning.

As the day went on, the pain eased to the point I didn't really notice it at the end of the day. So hopefully it's helped! I'm going to do strength training tomorrow, so will attack again.

But there you go, if you have knots, get out the squash ball.

Good news, the magnesium supplement worked! I still get mild muscle cramps in my calves at night, but they don't hurt to the point that its waking me up anymore :)
The knot in my quad is still there, though, despite my efforts to massage it out. I can run and walk just fine and I hardly feel it, but I went to the gym yesterday (its finally open!!) and I could definitely feel it when I went to squat. @Avidkeo I'll have to look into your squash ball. Although I'm probably gonna hate it because I'm a huge baby and would rather deal with knots and cramps and such than the pain of working them out :D

It's been super hot and humid here the last week, so I've been running late at night. It wasn't quite dark the last outdoor run I did, and the first half mile was miserable, and then the heavens answered my prayers with a torrential downpour that lasted through the rest of my run. I was feeling great and was going to run 3 miles instead of my planned 2...but right around mile 2, it started lightning pretty bad so I headed home. Still a good run! My dogs didn't enjoy it as much. They're both princesses and don't like the rain.

I took advantage of the gym being open and did my 3 miles on the treadmill yesterday, in the air conditioning. I forgot how much I hate treadmills. Why are they so much harder? I even added a minute onto my pace and I still got off completely drenched in sweat. Ugh!

Also, sorry to hear about your headphones, @PastorVincent ! I cannot tell you how many pairs I go through because I set them down and forget where I left them, only to give up and buy another pair. Putting them through the wash definitely sucks, though.

    @PastorVincent You have my condolences.

@brittanystebbins95 Glad the magnesium worked! I'm one of those weirdo's who think the treadmill is actually easier. I think because I can control the pace and the incline. It does get boring after an hour or so.

@PastorVincent Oh no! I wish I could say I've never personally tested the limits of waterproof items in the washing machine, but I identify too much.

A run this morning where it was hard to tell where the rain ended and the humidity began. I would guess that it was actively raining for about half of the run and the rest was just moisture standing in the air.

It was another beautiful, cool spring morning. I ran 6.3 miles. I saw a man walking two Airedale terriers, but other than that I didn't see any other dogs. It seems like on my last few runs I've seen at least one or two loose dogs. It was an uneventful run, but really nice. The weather has been so nice the last couple of days. I know it won't last so I am enjoying it while I can. I did pay attention to my watch, and it is beeping at me but not vibrating. I'm a little annoyed. The notifications aren't a huge deal even though I like that feature. But the alarms is a big deal and I missed a couple of mile notifications. I'm more likely to feel the vibration than to hear the beep when I'm running. Mostly it makes me worried that my watch is about to stop working. I think I will contact Garmin and see what they say about it.

@PastorVincent my condolences. I would cry.

@brittanystebbins95 good to know! My leg muscles seize up at night and it is AWFUL.

@Scott6255 that's amazing. I got to run this weekend with my friend Sophie which was better than I thought it would be, as I strictly run alone. So I am happy for you!

i did some CT last night as my legs are still feeling this past weekend pretty significantly.

    But here's my question:

Are we running for George Floyd? We should be, right?

I think i will. I hope others do too.

@Teresa502 I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. 20 years is a long time.

I'm glad you made it through your hike before the rain. That's a beautiful place, but it would be scary to be stuck there in a flood.

Wow....great running for May. All y'all (plural of y'all) are blowing past your goals, like me. Setting a 0 run goal is my secret to success ;)

Went to the lake to run my trail. Did a Peloton run where I ran a slow jog warmup, then a comfortable pace for a song, recovery, repeat. Then we had to pick up the pace for a song, then do the same for 2 songs, with recovery in between. It was a great way to focus on my form but also do some speed work since I have never really focused on that. My slow jog was like 12:30, comfortable jog about 11:30 and my "speed" work, closer to 9:45-10:30. Gorgeous morning after the rains, which are coming back tonight.

@Camaramandy648 sorry about your race....that stinks!

@avidkeo I use a yoga ball sometimes.....so painful but worth it once its over.

@hamsterwheel6 Nice run and I like the swag!

@PastorVincent so sorry for your loss....I have the same ones and have pulled them out of pockets just in the nick of time. Mine are like 3 years old.

@scott6255 I have read so much about how this virus affects people so differently. I don't know if this normal for all viruses but amazing how wide the range of symptoms, recoveries, etc are. Any plans to get antibody testing done? We are still pretty convinced that my son had it since he was riding the subway, working at a huge hotel construction project, etc. Classic covid symptoms. He tested negative for antibodies last Friday. But then the CDC reported that half of these tests could be wrong.

I live in Minneapolis and I have not yet heard of anyone running for him. This is probably because Ahmaud Arbery was killed *while* running and it struck a nerve with the running community. Floyd's death is unquestionably horrifying, but not related to running. We are seeing some protests here, both at police stations and at the home of one of the officers involved. But I think most things people could do to bring more awareness to this would be good, and that includes running. It's gutting to see this happen here, especially given other high profile cases of police violence we've had (not that we're unique among major metropolitan areas in that regard). Jamar Clark, Philando Castile, Justine Damond, and now George Floyd. Even one would be too many.

Garmin said my watch is broken and I can send it in and they will repair/replace it. I hope it won't take too long to get it back. @avidkeo you recently sent yours in right? Did you take the band off of it or send the whole thing in? I may feel naked if I have to go a few days without my tracker.

My outside cat who is probably 20 years old has been going downhill for the past few days. She decided she had enough of this earth and passed away after I got back from my run. I gave her a nice burial in the woods out back and cried a few (or more) tears. I already miss her. :'(

    I am so sorry! :(

Having a hard time finding a replacement set. They came out with a new version that is getting pretty bad reviews so tying to find the set I had. I found a pair for $30 on Groupon that is listed as refrub. Going to try them before giving in and trying the new version.

@Teresa502 Very sorry about your cat. I know how much pets (yes, even cats :o ) are part of your family. RIP!
