@rheddmobile I hate hearing that you have to give up a prime running spot. Would it be possible to consider putting a mask around your neck and pulling it up within 15feet of others and eyeball them suspiciously as they pass? There's no such mask wearing here, least that I know of, unless the clinics insist upon it. But I get some people need to protect themselves. Make a T shirt that says "move over fruit loop, I don't want your c-cooties"4

Wait.....doesn't everyone run with ice cream? Am I the only one? Looks good @_nikkiwolf_
@eleanorhawkins Hal sounds like a slave driver! Glad I am not the only one in a love-hate relationship with their chosen exercise tools....I find myself regularly cursing out my Peloton Instructors.
@skippygirlsmom Love those shoes!
@avidkeo glad your back to running again!
@rheddmobile sorry to hear that your trail is overrun. Ours is too. You used to be able to go early on most days and not be crowded out but I think people have taking to running more due to Covid so the trails are packed and no one is masked up. I just try to run around them and avoid the closeness. And I hold my breath when I pass which I know is silly.
Running/walking on the books for tomorrow.2 -

I highly doubt I could pull that off!
I can barely drink and run at the same time. I'm impressed!2 -

Seriously. When I need to take a cup at races, I pull over and stop. Unless it is a 5k or something in the summer, then I just dump on my head and keep going.2 -

Given how well I do with my plans, I think my coach is probably way too nice

@kgirlhart and @bearly63 thanks they are comfy. While I’m home in either running or barefoot ha ha, I’m really casual even at work, I tend to wear sandals (they are sketchers) in the summer and some ugly closed in toe shoe when my feet start to freeze.
@_nikkiwolf_ and @Avidkeo I’m really thinking Hal is rude. Yeah for ice cream cones! I’ll have to try that, some new virtual run.
@rheddmobile we are going up again here in Alabama too. I went out on Saturday morning on the trails all kinds of people.

@rheddmobile The entire south is increasing in cases rapidly, so is the west. Midwest and northeast are declining in numbers of new cases... but good that Memphis requires masks. Nobody here wears them and won't unless/until they are forced to do so. Even having an ordinance requiring it won't work as I have observed at work where the company requires it. People in the office are the worst and fortunately the director sent a very clear email out about the mask usage here in the office specifically. Similarly, even if the city or county required it, people would still violate unless it is enforced. I'm certain that cops around here wouldn't enforce it either.1

@skippygirlsmom I usually wear Sketchers sandals with yogamat. They are pretty comfy. Unfortunately one pair is really getting old so now my feet slip around on them and the other pair is white and they are looking pretty dirty.1
-
@Faebert Glad your quad is feeling better.
@skippygirlsmom I think it is cool that you have friends that work on the ISS. I love space stuff. In my younger days, I really wanted to be an astronaut. Since I realized I have mild claustrophobia, I don't think I could...and the fact that I'm 60 years old. LOL (Claustrophobia is diagnosed. So they diagnose those things, or do we just know from experience?) That's one reason why I REALLY loved my stint in the AF at Cape Canaveral AFS. I got to work with the GPS satellites, participate in several launches, and tour the Space Shuttle crawler.

Yay for rain! Hope the water tanks get a bit fuller! And it's perfect running weather, if you haven't already gone out lol
Nope. Slacked off royally. Haven’t done that in a while!
Good for you! Sometimes that is what exactly what we need.
Thank you @PastorVincent, I do think it was for the best. The pile of chocolate I ate instead, however...

Many years ago now, I got to see the ISS in person. I mean it was still on the ground at the time, but I saw several sections in Alabama. Probably never see them again though! LOL. I will try to find the pics I took and post them later.

Fixed that for you

@skippygirlsmom Love your new shoes.
@Camaramandy648 Yeah for all the new running clothes. If preparation got a medal, I think you'd win. Good luck with the binge.
@kgirlhart Yeah for the great run! When I work at the daycare, I usually wear my older running or tennis shoes. Gotta be able to get around quick with those kids.
@_nikkiwolf_ Strawberry ice cream sounds like a great substitute for water to me. Not sure how you ran with a cone in your hand. It wouldn't have turned out pretty had I tried that.

@rheddmobile I'm glad you got to run on the trail today. Sorry it was too crowded for you to feel safe to go back anytime soon. I still have my fingers crossed that things will get back to normal sooner rather than later. I'm glad you signed up for the race and I made your husband happy. I still haven't signed up. Guess I'd better get to it. Which distance are you going to do?

Wait what!? Running with ice cream? Oh yeah, not sure I could manage but I would love to!
Ugh @rheddmobile sux for sure. Case spiking here as well, and yeah not many are wearing masks out and about. Sigh
Hal is a monster! Lol. Just kidding. Might have tor try the app and see what he says about me.
@skippygirlsmom nice shoes!!
@kgirlhart at home I wear flip flops and mostly every where else I go in the summer lol. Winter I wear uggs or boots. At work I have danskin clogs, not great looking but super comfy, and sandals in the warmer weather.
5 miles today with interval speed work 1minx10.
Oh! Ordered aftershokz for my birthday present to myself! It’s not until the 29th but I could not wait. And sale.
I really need shoes too

For some good news from my current stomping ground:CDC has recognized Pennsylvania as one of only three states where coronavirus cases have been declining for more than 6 weeks.
And we have been partially reopened for several weeks of that time.

@hamsterwheel6 What? There's a sale on Aftershokz? Need to go check it out. I just signed up for the ISS virtual race and got the t-shirt just because.1

It was a nice cool 64F run this morning and a little foggy starting out. I did my normal loop and then added another mile for 8 miles. I then met some friends to kayak again on a different river. It was a beautiful day and the rain held off mercifully!

@Teresa502 Sounds like a really nice day!
@hamsterwheel6 Ordered mine. I got the titanium's, in blue. I am probably one of the few people left in the world that doesn't have unlimited data on my phone. If I am going to listen to music or podcasts, I'm going to have to change that. I'll wait until I try them out before I upgrade my phone plan.3 -

Cool! I ordered the mini in the green, sure to,stand out that way haha. I also don’t have unlimited- we have a family plan with roll over and never have had an issue. Though my son would beg to differ.
I listen to most my music off line, so it works out for me.2 -
@quilteryoyo - if you use Spotify you can create playlists and download them to your phone so you don't have to use any data to listen to your music. I do the same with my podcasts and also the free Peloton workouts.2

0619-5k, total-41.6k goal-100k
Rained last night so it was actually not hot for once, even if I was a bit late getting out. Nice slow 5km around the neighborhood before work. Felt like I spent the first 4km waking up and then the final 1km actually running..
@_nikkiwolf_ Now I've got ice cream envy!
@rheddmobile Sorry to hear that. There are always going to be those people. Kudos for taking care and being cautious. The trails will still be there.5 -
Missed all the chat today, because I've been baking!
Be warned, Porn in spoiler
Having a big party tomorrow for the girls, a joint one to celebrate since their birthdays were during heavy lockdown when we couldn't even leave the house. We sort of thought we would have around 20 people coming, but last count is closer to 70! Eep! So the fancy blue cake in the fridge will be assembled tomorrow, so I'll post more pics tomorrow.
Fortunately the party is only for about an hr, we have a couple of games arranged. Fortunately the weather is supposed to be good, so the kids should have a blast.
Actually look forward to it!11 -

Yeah, this. You will want to do this anyway otherwise you risk losing connection, bad single, and other issues while you are running. Downloading all things in advance will save you from having to upgrade your plan, and prevent all those issues.
Also, I do not have unlimited data either.3 -
For my fellow Dr. Who fans, and those that love a good laugh, you need to watch this when you can. Totally off topic, but IMO laughter is always on topic.

It is so dang hot here that I think running with ice cream would be a giant melty disaster! Looks yummy though!
For every day shoes, I tend to wear some sort of comfy loafer for work. Sometimes on a “Casual Day” or a day when I have to walk around the prison with the Warden for formal inspection, I will wear a pair of solid black Skechers. At home, I like my Toms or Sanuk yoga slings. Heels pretty much kill me anymore, so they are hardly ever worn.
@Avidkeo, love your food porn!
4.6 miles yesterday evening. Took today off work so that hubby and I can go visit my parents. I haven’t seen my dad since Christmas due to all of this COVID stuff. He has a lot of health issues, so we have held off visiting, especially because I was an essential worker, and we did have a few cases at work awhile back. Planning to do the Rock n Roll Virtual 6K this morning, as that and a 10K are this weekend’s two runs.6 -
Holy cow, did I ever fall behind 😂
@_nikkiwolf_ running with an ice cream cone is very impressive I can't even drink water and run at the same time, I have to stop or I will either face plant or risk chipping a tooth on the bottle. Funny enough, I can text and run though sometimes it looks a bit like drunk texting, but oh wellCOVID update, kinda? I live in the Midwest, and cases are rising extremely fast here. To the point that everyone is panicking and things are shutting down again. To be quite honest, and I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I'm so frustrated and over it. I thought the entire point of quarantine was to flatten the curve and give hospitals time to prepare? We've done that, just let it take its course now. We can't live like this forever. Maybe this is me speaking from a scared or anxious perspective. I just want life to go back to normal. The flu has killed more people I knew and loved than this has. And I'm absolutely terrified that they're going to tighten restrictions again, and I'm going to have to wear a mask during labor. I get so panicky and short of breath with them already. If I have to wear one while I have my baby, I might just take my chances at home. I also don't want be forced to have my baby with only my husband (as much as I love him) at my side and my mom won't be able to be there with me. I'm a first time mom. I'm scared. I want my mom there to comfort me and guide me. Is that selfish? It feels selfish. I'm ashamed to admit it. Others have lost loved ones and I'm just over here crying for my well and very much alive mom to be present for the arrival of her first grandchild.
Plus, I've heard stories of moms testing positive for COVID and being forcefully separated from their newborns for 2 weeks. Ugh...
And not to mention, my husband and I both work in Law Enforcement. He finishes the police academy in October, and I'm a corrections officer. All of this stuff going on...its downright depressing. We both chose this profession because we want to help and protect the public. And we're being hated for it. I'm so afraid for him to start work. I don't want that knock on my door with the news that he's not coming home. Add that stress to the stress of a new baby on the way? I'm finding more and more grey hairs everyday and I'm not even 25
The dogs and I are at 19 miles so far for the month, with the goal of 30. It looks promising. It's been too hot to run outside much, and I'm finally starting to somewhat enjoy the treadmill, but last night we managed to squeeze and outdoor run in. I waited till about 9pm and it finally dropped to 70 degrees F. I was not prepared for the humidity, though. Average pace of just over 12 minutes/mile. Got 2 miles in. By the end, I was jogging so slowly that Bandit was pretty much walking instead of his usual trot.

@brittanystebbins95 Big hugs. You have every right in the world to be stressed over all of this. Don't add guilt on top of it. One thing I figured out a long time ago is that my feelings DO matter, regardless of whether or not someone else is worse off than me. Try to keep that in mind. I do hope that your mom and husband are able to be with you during labor. If she can't be physically present, check to see if maybe you can face time with her or something. At least that way you could hear her voice. Bless you and your husband for choosing law enforcement. I, for one, appreciate all you do and think it is horrible that people are hating all police based on the actions of a few. Stay safe.3
