@musicsax I cannot imagine the anguish you are enduring right now. I will be praying for you, your family, and a miracle. I don’t know where you live, but can you seek a specialist? Someone at Duke, Vanderbilt, Johns Hopkins or some other first class medical facility? Someone who specializes in the genetic disorder your sweet little one suffers from???

JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~|~ Round 119 (round 51 for me ) I'm in for another round (of course!) – I need to just keep going! Yet again thank you @GrandmaJackie, such a champion particularly in these unprecidented times, helping keep some stability in our lives, for setting up these challenges.

Female age 62 5' 4” - Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and have gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then; I don't want to gain any more, but would like to get back to my goal weight – I'm working at it – it's a permanent way of life !

Goal – get back to 132 for this round.... - aim to get back to & stick with good habits: be mindful of what I eat & drink, keep walking, no binges, really want to keep the 10 days binge free! Keep calm, wash hands, be kind and follow all latest Government guidelines for C-19 virus.

    Date/Weight/Comment

07/06 135.4 - 9.69 miles walked yesterday, wonderful day in the National Forest! 57 calories in credit, 10g fat over.
    07/07 134.6 - 8.54 miles walked yesterday. 183 calories in credit, 13 carbs over.
07/08 134.2 - 2.81 miles walked yesterday, rain all day hence low mileage and it means that well over on calories, also high sodium ready meal last night means that tomorrow will probably be up.
07/09 134.8 - 8 miles walked yesterday all along the prom. at the seaside, first time at the sea this year ! 328 calories in credit, 15 carbs over.
07/19 135.2 - persistent rain meant no walking yesterday, got to spend time with DS & DGD. Food choices sensible but way over all macros ?
07/11 135.2 - 11.4 miles walked yesterday, almost no rain ! Makes all the the difference to me; 550 valid and all other macros in green.
07/12 135.4 - 8.3 miles walked yesterday. 61 calories in credit, but 12 carbs over.
07/13 135.8 – travelled back from our caravan week away yesterday hence only 3.87 miles walked. Back home now & back to usual routine & no alcohol until weekends, 2 days to improve on round start weight.
07/14 135.2 – 8.52 miles walked yesterday, 721 calories in credit all macros in green. Devastating news last night about our 5 ½ month DGS, going into 4th week in hospital. His liver is not in a good condition and his other genetic health problems mean he is not a suitable candidate for a transplant, poor little mite, if you believe please include him in your prayers, he needs a miracle. We can't visit cuz of this wretched covid, but they did allow our DD to bring him out on Saturday afternoon for an hour, we met up in the park opposite and had a cuddle with him. Feeling very despondent but have to try to keep positive for DD & family.
07/15 133.4 - 10.52 miles walked yesterday. 545 calories in credit, 2g fat over. 2.6 pounds down from end of last round. Gave blood yesterday pm, but had what I can only describe as a “funny” turn during the night which scared me – got up to use the bathroom and my legs gave way, I fell on the floor, felt very weak and for 20 mins or so was almost in faint, DH said that I did pass out for a quite a while, had a prolonged cold sweat. Unusually I had a very low carb day yesterday, had only an omelette and leaf salad for lunch, maybe I should have ensured that I had the usual carbs for lunch before I gave blood, I will in future cuz it scared me.

Thank you all so much for your best wishes, kind thoughts and prayers, it is such a comfort.
The little chappie is fighting and although the specialists can't give any reassurance that they can "fix" him, they are doing the very best they can for him, tomorrow he is being transferred to Leeds where the liver specialists are based - fingers crossed.

@UTMom81 - we are in the UK, we have been told that genetic testing results take weeks to get results, his blood has gone off to be tested some weeks ago. The problem is that the condition that they suspect he has is so rare that the numbers are not there for there to be much experience/knowledge of; 150 cases within the UK! It seems he is one in millions, but not in a good way :(

    Looking forward:
I'm just too danged cussed to let this thing knock me back, and ruin all the effort I have put in to get here. I am stepping up my routine, and taking control. Sheltering in place means I can fully concentrate on getting in my exercise, and preparing healthy food.
July: focus is on improving stamina, strength, flexibility, which may impact the scale
    Aims:
    • 2020: Goal is to stabilise weight around 145
    • Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
    • Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
    • Cut down on eating between meals by keeping busy
Never give up! Never give in!
    Back Story:
2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅
2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ So far, so good.
That's a WIN in my book!
    2020
Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

    06/06: 149.8: Goals🌟
07/06: 150.8: Goals🌟I’m still upping my training intensity, so this is not exactly a surprise. Weight training and jogging are both known to increase water retention, so I’m just going with that. It’s gotta settle down eventually.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.
    • Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
    • A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
    • Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
    • The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
    • Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
    • The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
    • When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
    • Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!
