There have been quite a few questions about when to replace your running shoes and while on an REI forum I saw the mention on this article. It is pretty good, concise and covers all the main points.
    https://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/replace-shoes.html

I will post my update and comment later today...

@T1DCarnivoreRunner Glad you were able to have an "uneventful" run. Glad you didn't have to "stop" the dog. I know if you did, it would have been to protect yourself, but I would have hated it for the dog, since it isn't his fault that the owners are irresponsible. Can you report them to animal control or something? Yeah for being 10 miles over your goal for August!

@quilteryoyo I am not sure we have an animal control. It's a small town and the last time I reported issues with stray dogs to the PD, it was just ignored. That was actual strays / homeless, though, and not loose dogs. And that was about a year ago when they killed a woodchuck in my back yard.

@T1DCarnivoreRunner I’m glad you didn’t need to pull your gun on the dog, but you need to protect yourself. I hate dogs running loose.

Thank you so much for the kudos on my virtual 5k. You guys are all so supportive and wonderful.

Congrats @teresa502 on your virtual half. That humidity! Sounds pretty miserable so huge congrats to you. I really like that t-shirt by the way.

Good job getting your 10k done @shanaber, glad you got some nicer weather.

Nice work @Faebert on your mileage this month!

Excellent job on meeting and exceeding your mileage goals this month @kgirlhart, @quilteryoyo, @shanaber, @Teresa502 and @skippygirlsmom! And I probably missed some of you so great work to everyone who kept going in what was for many of us a very hot August.

I took another morning to sleep a little extra and ease into the day. I really needed to get work done so I decided to go get a lovely breakfast of a bagel with smoked salmon and head to work and run later. The weather was much improved here today too so when I finally got out there about 4:30 pm it was 70 degrees and low humidity. Very pleasant. I ran from the trail near the grocery store so I could pick up food right after and head home. Although I could have done more miles I really wanted to get home early enough to walk the dog, eat, and relax so I kept it short.

So, I didn not do a long run this week, my longest run was less than 4 miles, and my mileage was only 18 miles for the week. I'm not going to feel (too) guilty about that because I clearly needed the rest and I'm swamped at work. I said at the beginning of this month that it was going to be busy and I set my goal very conservatively at 100 miles. I thought midway that maybe I'd up that but as it turns out it was right-on. I maintained my streak and I finished the OneNY 1000 km challenge, so I accomplished what I set out to do.

Thanks @shanaber for setting up the September (gasp) thread. I'll update the final time and check in with you all here tomorrow and think about my goals for September. It's going to be much the same story I think.
