    He’s gorgeous @brittanystebbins95. Congrats.

And good luck with the return to running - I’ve been there and it’s totally doable but yes, listen to your body, it’s not the same one you had previously. But you were so fit prior and so motivated, I’m sure you’ll be great.

@brittanystebbins95 congratulations!!!! He's so beautiful - look at that little peanut! You worked so hard. I hope you are recovering well and having a wonderful time with your sweet little one.

I'm sorry about your bad run @ContraryMaryMary! I would think off day rather than hitting any kind of real limit though. Hope your coach has some good insight, and the rest does you some good..

Welcome @_runnerbean_ and @Oberon21! Glad to have you join us!

Glad to hear that your mileage is working back up there successfully and pain free @Scott6255! Wishing you much cooler weather for September.

Congrats on 32 years @WandaVaughn. Where will you be going or your anniversary trip? Good luck on your miles for the month!

@katharmonic We're going to Gatlinburg, TN! Lots of pretty scenery and lots of quality time with the hubby!
Not sure if I want to run near the cabin. Owner says a mama and bear cubs have been spotted around lately! I'm not fast enough to outrun that kind of wildlife! 😁

@brittanystebbins95 He's beautiful! Welcome to the world! Good luck on your recovery and take it slow and easy (not that I've ever been there or done that), looking forward to seeing you back running soon.

@ContraryMaryMary Well like they say, one bad run does not a wall make. I suspect it was just one of those days.
So, I’ve never set up a challenge on challenge hound but it looks fairly simple - my thought was that a challenge for @PastorVincent could be set up as a team relay, with no set number of people per team, 26.2 miles to be run at any time during that week, runs, hikes, walks and treadmill counting towards the total. You wouldn’t have to use challengehound to participate but anyone who wanted could jump in either as a solo or join a team, so people doing less mileage could participate. And I really liked the idea of encouraging everyone to do an act of kindness in memory of @PastorVincent as well. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? If it sounds good I will see about setting it up.
I think the team relay sounds like a great idea! I'll be on a business trip that week so probably won't have time for 42km, but will be happy to join up.

@rheddmobile I think that sounds like a great idea.

@ContraryMaryMary I hope it was just an off day and you feel better soon.

    All of this!

I would really like to be part of a team or something for the challenge, I was vaguely considering trying to total a marathon distance between running and cycling over the week because running alone would be a little bit too much for my legs to take. Have never heard of challengehound, will investigate that during a break today!

Totally fell off the wagon with eating since I read the news. Sadness about @PastorVincent combined with stress over the covid situation here and schools reopening and an anxious, terrified teenager made me stuff my face with junk. To the point that in a week I seem to have regained 1.5kg of the 2.5kg of lockdown weight it had taken me over a month to get rid of. Dammit. Must pull myself together.

@eleanorhawkins it's most likely water weight. As soon as you go back to deficit, it will fall off. I myself gained 2kg of weight last week, and lost it over the last 2 days. So many trips to the toilet! Haha.

Hang in there. It's so hard.

Early morning 5k to start the month. Met up with a friend I haven't seen for a month because she went out of town and then had to quarantine for two weeks. We had a ton to catch up on so the run went quickly. It's going to be a busy day so I'm glad to have the run done.

I will join in whatever gets planned for Pastor Vincent. I don't have the time to do much but I can do 26.2 over a week.

Impressive start to the day @Faebert! Way to take advantage of your commute running time. Good luck with the 3rd run of the day - so ambitious!

My post suddenly showed back up. YEAH!

@WandaVaughn Happy Anniversary and congratulations on 32 years. My mom and dad's anniversary is Friday. They will be married 64 years. Gatlinburg is practically in my back yard - well, an hour or so away. I hope the weather is nice and you enjoy your vacation there. The bears usually aren't aggressive, as long as you don't get between the momma and her cubs. Then all bets are off. Just be watchful and you should be okay.

    Welcome @_runnerbean_ !

@ContraryMaryMary Hopefully your coach will have some words of wisdom. I'm hoping it was just a really bad day of running. We all have those.

Sounds good to me @rheddmobile . Thanks for taking the lead on the Boston Marathon challenge for @PastorVincent .

Oh my Gosh @brittanystebbins95 ! He is soooo cute! Congratulations. He is a big boy and you worked hard getting him safely into this world. You were so good about listening to your body when you were pregnant, so I have no doubt you will do the same now and will be back to running as quickly as possible.

@eleanorhawkins Hang in there. The times are rough on us stress eaters right now.

@Faebert That's a lot of running. You are doing great.

@RunsOnEspresso I think you will get plenty of miles concentrating on all of those challenges and races.

    9/1 – 7.01 miles
    Goal – 130 miles

It was still dark when I headed out this morning. I live in a rural area with no street lights and few houses. I used my handheld light one day last week. I also have a headlamp but haven’t quite found my groove with using it. I usually wear a hat when I use it and then the bill of the hat gets in the way of the beam of light. If I don’t wear a hat with it, the light doesn’t stay in place and slides down my forehead. Anyone have any tips? This morning, I remembered I had bought a hat a few years ago at an expo with lights built in. I dug it out and it worked great. It was foggy and humid this morning so I was a sweaty mess. I hand-washed the hat – hope it still works!

@ContraryMaryMary – I hope you were just having an “off” day. You have been pushing yourself hard I think it is to be expected.
@rheddmobile – I’ve never used challenge hound but am good with us tracking the @PastorVincent marathon challenge there. Thank you for taking the lead on organizing us!
@brittanystebbins95 – I am so in love with Finnegan! Congratulations!

I have an LED light that clips to the bill of your hat. It has 3 bright white LEDs and it works really well. I don't know where I got it (found it after my son moved out, so I think it was actually his). It is made by Energizer. It's not super bright, but it works pretty well. Here it is at Walmart

    September 1 - 5.5 miles
    Total Space Race miles: 85.21

@quilteryoyo I'll wave to you while we're up there! I hope to avoid the local news in stories about bears.
@skippygirlsmom I get dyslexic with numbers sometimes. Thanks for the catch. (and never expect me to memorize phone numbers, lol)

@WandaVaughn I'll try to wave back. I'm sure you will be fine with the bears. We rarely hear of any major issues with them. Just don't leave any food out. They do know how to open coolers and break into cars. I have slight dyslexia too, so totally understand about mixed up numbers and letters.

Just bought a chest and back light as I find the head torch distracting. Not had chance to try it yet but I will let you know.

Excellent running @Camaramandy648 and congratulations on more great distances!! Your determination is SO impressive!

@Camaramandy648 – Congratulations on another long-distance challenge completed AND finishing in 6th place! Yippee!!

    Welcome @annshandle!

@TheMrWobbly – Please let us know about the chest and back light when you have a chance to try it. I’ve heard of people using their headlamps as waist lamps but I haven’t tried that yet.

My daughter has gone vegan for a year and now thrown keto into the mix so vegan, gluten free, pumpkin spice doughnuts might be just the trick as they can't have anything in them!!! We are waiting on vegan / keto protein bars to turn up at the moment.

I am giving keto running a trial for a month which should be interesting!

@TheMrWobbly you'll have to let me know how it goes! The women in my family have a lot of issues - red meat is an inflammatory food (so is sugar) - so I avoid it. Which actually sucks because I love steak and candy but... I can really, really tell a difference in how I feel when I do and don't eat certain things. :(
