    Double posting because I was just thinking as I wrote the above post about preparing for my upcoming 5k race. And how much 5k races are a huge mental challenge for me, I get so freaked out that I can't hold the pace and I want to give up. Then I go over to facebook and saw this - so true. Just go out and run.

    @Camaramandy648 Big news on my front is that the surgery got postponed due to the increase in CoVID patients. They won't reschedule until the numbers go down. Glad you are doing good. I was asking about you a couple of days ago and someone said you were posting on Instagram and were out there running crazy amounts of miles.

    Welcome @April_M_2015 . You'll love this group. Very supportive and friendly and inspiring and.....

    @quilteryoyo oh nooooo !!!!!!! I'm so sorry! I would guess that the postponing would be an additional stress. Dangit. I want you to be full and have peace and no anxiety! I will be praying for this!

    haha yep, IG and crazy miles. Not a lot of rest for this momma. I mean I do sleep. But every morning at 4am running then, on certain days I am running doubles, and then on other days, like today, I run very early, work, care for kids, then lift.

    between all of that, the house still has to get cleaned and groceries bought, etc. I'm managing it, though! The teenager started OT back on Tuesday. I think it's good but the way covid cases are going, i don't think she'll be able to stay in long. She's very happy when we have all three therapies going - thriving. She really needs this too, because it teaches functionality for adult-life. But also we can't be in situations where everybody is at risk. They are taking so many precautions but I still think they will shut down again.

    Anyway, @quilteryoyo I am thinking of you!

    @Scott6255 man, that was a tough day, though! Halloween was a lot of fun - I thought I was tired that day, but Sunday is when I knew I was REALLY tired. Ran ten that day then lifted then more movies. Lord. I needed sleep so bad.

    @rheddmobile I LOVE the photos. I am excited about my long run this weekend because the weather will be nice and it's 22 miles of exploration and wildin'. lol. I can't wait.

    I miss you all. I miss reading about your lives. And also at this very second I am thinking of one of @Avidkeo 's cakes. I would do a lot of things for a piece of cake right now. I think I have a reese's somewhere, haha.

    And @Tramboman YES! ALWAYS half FULL. NEVER half empty. I feel that on such a deep, personal level lately. I'm always half full. I am a cup. I've become a cup. what the heck.

    I had a dream about my mom last night. She was listening to me pour my heart out to her. She let me say everything. She was all grace and power and integrity and class. I was raw, tenacious, relentless, and raging at everything. Grief. Social and racial injustice. Brokenness.

    She stared at me a long time like she was staring into my soul (you know how moms can do that) and then said, "Mandy. Did you think it would be easy?"

    I woke up before the 4am alarm and went. I had everything I needed in that moment. It was a good run. A lot of fun, too! My fastest pace was 3:31/ mi. but of course, that pace doesn't last long. It was just cool to see the measurement for a couple minutes. I shouldn't have slowed down or stopped! The past two days have been really nice running weather. Shorts and tanks, shorts and sleeves.

    @rheddmobile I run with a cap every morning now. It's easier to avoid the traffic lights plus I look like I just rolled out of bed (because I did) and nobody needs to see that mess, lmao.

    anyway. Cannot say enough. I miss you all so much.

    @marisap2010 sorry about your disappointing news. I'll bet (hope) your run last night made you feel a little better. I know it always makes me feel better after a run.

    Sunny, mid 40s F, with little breeze. Robins must have read yesterday's post -- saw a bunch of them. First 3k felt pretty good, courtesy of yesterday's yoga. Last 3k legs felt tired, courtesy of yesterday's yoga. I should do yoga year around -- wish I wasn't so lazy and undisciplined.

    When you pop in here claiming your December 2020 mileage, what accomplishments will you have made?

    Return to a good running weight of 175 lbs
    Run at least 4 5k races
    Get a 5k PR
    Average at least 138k per month, to meet my Run the Year pledge of 1,020 miles - Completed 10-11
    Stretch goal: If I can average 169k per month, I can run 2020k in 2020
    Run the Year Team: Pavement Pounders -- Completed 9-29

    2020 races:

    9-8 to 9-13 "Virtual Boston with Vincent" Time goal 5:15:00; actual time 4:47:01

    @Tramboman i want to be you when I grow up. consistently running and moving.

    6.5 miles today on the treadmill. Headed to the mountains (Boone NC area) for a girls weekend. Hoping to get a good hike in.

    11/5 Helped saw wood – 11,266 steps
    11/6 Ran 3.0 miles – Walked 1.50 miles – Field and Driveway laps

    It was so nice today, I just had to run outside - 68°F at 2:00 pm, sunny, and no wind. I did a mile warmup walk with my dog into my neighbor's field and then did the rest as laps on the driveway. I tried to keep it an easy pace. Wound up with 12:40 min/mile. I'll take that.

    @Kimbeers Don't let the paces and distances some people post intimidate you at all. It took time to build to those levels. You are doing great. Just concentrate on being consistent and you'll get there too!

    @Camaramandy648 Is the school a public school? I would think they would "have" to let you use it if it is, but what do I know? You did great on your workout. Those are fantastic paces. The varied workouts will improve your pace too - as does just running a lot at an easy pace. I know you read a lot about running. Have you ever read 80/20 Running by Matt Fitzgerald? He's big on running 80% of your runs at an easy pace. That was the HM plan I was following before I got sidetracked.

    Yeah, ALL of the tracks at our public schools are behind locked gates. I don't understand what the liability is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Thanks @hamsterwheel6! I'm pretty excited for the race tomorrow.  The temperature should be in the low to mid 50's in the morning. I'm hoping to be done before it gets into the 60's but I don't mind running in the low 60's. The weather forecast for tomorrow is what I consider perfect running weather.

    I started running 4 years ago in October when I was 48. So far I have been improving my times.  I hope that will continue for a while,  but honestly I just run because I can and I love it. At this point there are plenty of people faster than me and some who are slower. I am hoping for PR tomorrow. I guess we will see how it goes.

    I signed up the the Roan Mountain 10K in the morning, @Teresa502 . I was going to message you, but apparently we aren't friends. I am going to send you a friend request. I am going to do the "walk" at 10. I hope I will see you there.

    That’s awesome @quilteryoyo! I will be working at the registration table. Hopefully we will recognize each other! (I found your friend request this morning and accepted it.)
