Haha thank you! That means so much to me because I have spent so much time watching and checking form over the years. I've always worried about having good form that when it's recognized, it's an awesome gift!
And since that was my last set of the 5,where my form felt weaker, it means even more!
On a side note... I love how big my quads look coming out of the hole. Haha.1 -
Your quads are amazing!2

In case anyone wonders... I do try to bench. Lol. I am only at 85lb (5x5) because I kind of have to baby my shoulder. It's always been my most disappointing LIFT (well that and OHP), but the past few sessions I am starting to feel like maybe I've found the right form I need. (The squeezing of the shoulder blades and tensioning the bar is really helping)
As always.. I am open to form correction.

Not a correction but a tip from my physiotherapist to protect the shoulder (although that may be specific to the subluxation in my case) is not to drop the elbows lower than the shoulders. In the end I had to give up BP entirely. I'll just live vicariously through you.3 -

Unfortunately, if I did that, I'd never get the bar even close to my chest. I think I want to take my chances for now. 😊1 -

I know-Poor form and on a smith but tasting 300 felt good anyway
Yay it's so nice to see someone new contributing!
I don't know a lot about form with a smith machine, but good on you for pushing 300! Anytime you push a pr, you see a bit of shaky form.
I look forward to when you post the same lift like it's a knife through butter!
KickAA- Almost every thread I look at you have posts complementing or encouraging others. From what I see your pretty amazing too and I’m sure your words are appreciated by so many. Your a beast under the bar and an absolute beauty. Have a great night-4 -

Today was tough emotionally. Dealing with some medical issues, some emotional issues. I legit came into my basement wanting to cry. And I did. For a good fifteen minutes.
But then I lifted. And I made my weight.
This is the last set. I'm going slower and watching the weight distribution - focusing on using my quads and reducing the pressure in my abdomen. Trying to watch for the hernia pressure and make sure I don't transfer weight / pressure into that area.
I'll work at this weight or lower for the next while, so likely won't post repeats. But I still did it.
I effin did it.
This is not an addiction. This is therapy. I do this because here I feel powerful whereas in so many areas of my life I feel powerless. Lifting heavy shows me that I am strong. I can push through the hard stuff. I am more than I think I am, and I can handle more crap thrown on my shoulders than I feel like I can some days.15 -

That last rep looked like a grind for sure but you did it for sure. I am impressed by your form. I know due to your height its a lomg way down into the hole, and you are way down there. I'm like you as well, I get emotional and moving mass around helps me cope as well. There's nothing like a PR to change your mental state.3 -

Thank you for this. It is a long bar path to travel, and sometimes the way back up feels even longer! Haha
I appreciate the feedback and it's nice to know that others feel like I do. Glad to call you friend!1 -
Good job @KickassAmazon761

Repeated 225lb tonight. Still a bit of rounding on the last rep, so I'll repeat it again.

Bench at 85lbs. Sigh. Not proud of this weight. But not leaving here anytime soon. Lol

I do, and I’m now wondering if it’s too late to change my sexual preferences.5 -
Lifting ?
Lately, it's been lifting this pizza off of the plate
and Fitness?
... fitdis whole slice into my pie-hole.
Off to the gym again tonight (bulking since 1993)
and for clarity, no, that's not actually me in the gif. (close, but no.)
