@WhatMeRunning I must be having deja vu as well because when I saw your username, I was sure you were one of our former group members coming back...

I haven’t run in a few days, but I’ve done body pump, a pop up kickboxing class, and some walking, so I haven’t been lazy either.

For all of you with injuries or not feeling well, I hope you all recover quickly soon.

    Welcome to our newbies!

I’ll post more this weekend when I have more time.

@katharmonic Great to hear your back is doing so much better! Fingers crossed the PT gives you good news today.

@rheddmobile I think big swings in temperatures affect me. You did great to get the hard run completed. Love all the animals you see.

@kgirlhart Good for you to get out when you really aren't feeling it. You're doing great. Glad you didn't have anything other than a sore arm from the shot too.

@marisap2010 Great job on keeping active!

After noticing he wasn't contributing and wondering (but not ready to ask), I learned about @MobyCarp last night while syncing things up with my old Strava account and seeing the link to the story. I had to read the July 2019 thread and it brought so many emotions reading his last posts where he wasn't feeling well ahead of his event, contrasted with how he passed on doing what he was so passionate about. He was an irreplacable resource for this community. Thank you Kevin for all of the help, I never would have learned how to train smarter without your advice.

@quilteryoyo - I stopped long distance running in July 2017 but continued doing sprint interval and mile runs (and a few 5k's) for most of the rest of 2017. So, it's been a minute. Prior to that I was averaging around 40 miles/week and running half marathon distances as my regular long run (I ran 6 HM events spring 2017). In 2015 I ran 3 full marathons in 29 days, but those are also the only 3 marathons I have run. I don't know why I bring that up because to be fair, it was foolish. But I did it without injury so I managed to train and execute to the degree necessary to get away with it. :grimace:

@katharmonic - Good luck with the PT!

@rheddmobile - Sounds like a great sight-seeing run, despite the perceived grind of it.

@kgirlhart - Way to overcome the winter and DST blues!

@polskagirl01 - Yeah, since you mentioned that, I updated my avatar with a t-shirt I was so proud to show off back in the day. (assuming it has actually updated for everyone). I still have that shirt, but it doesn't fit at the moment.

@pfeiferlindsey - I can't wait to read the race report.

@tramboman - I laughed at your description of the wind on your run.

At least one of us laughed...

@pfeiferlindsey Yeah for your race tomorrow. Good luck and look forward to hearing how it goes!

@Tramboman With your description of the wind today, I would say the fun meter was pretty low today too. Great job for getting that run in.

@WhatMeRunning @MobyCarp has been greatly missed around here. I don't know if you knew @PastorVincent too, but he passed away last year also.

@quilteryoyo - I remember @PastorVincent well. He was very active here. He and I talked a lot about running hills, along with the regular chit-chat. Very sad to hear this. I hope your neighbor gets the transplant and bounces back. Congrats on the Rambo style tree removal without any issues! Puppy pics are always good.

@katharmonic - Can't wait to hear all about your event tomorrow. Here's to a healthy, strong finish!

Tired. Had a study day today. So no long run.

I'm kinda blending 2 plans together atm, and trying to take the best from each. My next HM is in 3 weeks, so I've also started a gaming training plan to get my half after than under 2hrs.and I'm using Hal for the remaining 3 weeks. So just mixing them up. Which basically means more tempo/speed sessions and fewer base runs. Don't worry I'm being careful.

@kgirlhart Glad you had a nice, short run. Limbs can be deceivingly heavy, especially this time of year when they are full of sap. I love living in the middle of the woods, but dead trees and limbs are a pain.

@polskagirl01 Thank you! It's funny that you should say that. Yesterday, when I was telling the office assistant at work about moving the tree, she was aghast too. Then she said, "But you are probably in better shape than anyone else who works here." Sadly, she's probably right and I am the second oldest person there. Most are right out of college or in their early 30's. I do take that as a compliment. I hope your "non race" goes well.

@WhatMeRunning Hang in there. I don't have kids, but know that must be tough. Like you said, you need to be as healthy as possible in order to be there for them during this difficult time.

@Tramboman That is one of the reasons. It would have just taken more time, even if it started. I wanted to try fast first, since I didn't want to be late to work. Of course, had I hurt myself, I would have been REALLY late. Guess I should have used my head for something more than a hat rack. Nice early morning run.

Since it ended well, everything's good!!!!
