Happy Sunday! This is our 51st Wedding Anniversary. We had planned to bring our kids and grand kids here to celebrate our 50th wedding last year by going to the Lookout Tower at Cape Perpetua on the Oregon Coast where we were married. Fires last summer & Covid 19 made that impossible. I hope the lookout tower is still there. I would still like to take them there when the pandemic subsides & travel is safer.
It is time to have my first cup of coffee & I don't have any headache this morning! YAY!!
Happy Anniversary!1 -

Happy Anniversary, Katla. Cyber hugs going out to you and DH. 🤗🤗🤗🤗2

This has been another lovely day. Dog walking followed by grocery pick-up. Then a walk with my Sunday morning friend followed by lunch cooked by Jake. Then Jeopardy, more dog walking, and 30 minutes of pulling weeds. Now time to relax on my exercise bike and watch TV

Machka - Kaitlyn has been told that hers can be removed too, but it doesn’t bother her so she decided against it. Those tips are very similar to the dementia ones I learned.
Kelly - hope you feel better.
Lisa - I love This Is Us. It speaks to me in so many ways.
Lily of the Valley was my Mom’s favourite scent.
Happy Anniversary Katla
Went and visited my cousin last night. So happy that I did. It set my mind at ease a bit. I think she will be fully healed when her MIL gets out of the house. I can understand how difficult it is to live with her. She just mumbles all the time, all negative and mostly lies. It didn’t bother me, but I was only there 24 hours I’m sure weeks and weeks with no breaks has been awful with everything else going on as well.
I’m happy to be back at home though.

Did Firm’s Cardio Overdrive DVD. Work tomorrow so no formal exercise
KJ – feel better fast. Looks like you are going to. What a great analogy of men to jeans. So true
Rori – so glad you got your first shot! Did you have to go out of the house or did someone come to the house to give it to you? Did your hubby get it? Is he planning (are you) to?
Debbie – you know, I’m thinking that I may not go to church on Easter. When I went last night, it appears that the priest wants to get as many in the church as possible. Not a one pew was cordoned off. I bet he wants to get as many people in there on Easter, especially since they missed getting all the donations last year. Plus…it’s going to be the bilingual (yuk) unless there is inclement weather. What does he consider inclement? I have no desire to go there and find out that the mass will be an hour later or that it was held an hour earlier. I think he maybe wants things to be the way they were. He’s elderly and it appears has a hard time with change. I think Covid is going to permanently change things, and I think he’s going to have a hard time with changes. It’s funny in a way. I was asked if I would like to lector in the future. I guess they don’t have many who will be coming to church on a regular basis right now so they don’t have a lot of lectors. And I only went the one time!
Barbie – a friend of mine in FL (she’s a real good painter) has a sign by her front door that says “ring bell, if no one answers, pull weeds”
Barbara – when I went to church last night, they used to have someone greeting people and opening the door for you. Not now. Not sure why, to me it would make more sense to have people touch less surfaces. But oh well. To my knowledge, there wasn’t anyone counting how many people were in the church. Last I’d heard was that at the church in NJ where I grew up, you had to make a “reservation”. But at least you knew you’d get into the church.
Lisa – I love “This is Us”. There are so many things I can relate to.
Katla – happy anniversary! I hope you can take the kids to Lookout Tower real soon.
Garbage: We recycle so much and they only pick up the recyclables once every two weeks. Most times our recycling can is stuffed, and there have been times when I’ve had to borrow my neighbor’s cans. Now the garbage that gets picked up once a week, it’s usually only ½ full after two weeks.
Cut the grass today and told vince that if we can cut the grass guess what else we can do????? Yea!!!

Happy Anniversary Katla!
Made it back from Kentucky a short while ago. I am TIRED! My daughter was such a help. We got upstairs carpets shampooed, stairs vacuumed, kitchen cleaned! (Except floor), hung a few pictures, and put together the daybed with trundle. The daybed has traveled lots. My husband bought it for me 20 years ago as I always wanted one. It was in my office room. In 2011, we got rid of my "office" and made it an adult guest room (queen size bed). My daughter wanted the day bed. She had it in the playroom, then moved to her office/guest/craft room. They are looking to get a Murphy bed for that room now, so the day bed is now at the farmhouse. The nice thing is it has a trundle, so can be two twins or put together for a king. Right now it is the only bed in the house. The guys pulled out two bushes that were making the door claustrophobic. It looks so much better. And as strange as it sounds, the house feels happier.
Pics to follow.

Happy anniversary Katla. Had a good day today. DS came over for dinner. He is packing to move to San Diego, emptying fridge and cupboards so I invited him for dinner. He and DD hung a light in the barn while I was cooking. Dogs had a good time running around the house since it was raining outside.
Everyone take care Sue in WA0 -
3 years ago today was the accident that changed my husband's and my life.
We've been in a form of "shutdown" for 3 years now. Not able to leave the island. Not able to visit family and friends in Canada or even on the mainland. Not able to do some of the things we would like to do.
However, it's not all bad. We have a whole island to roam around and we can do some things. I did finish my degree. We are cycling again, although much shorter distances. I'm still working in the same place I've been for years now.
And this year, I'm working my way through my To Do List. All those things which have been shoved to the back burner over the past several years. There's a lot!
Also trying to focus more on strength and endurance.

Barbie your lovely Sunday sounds just right.
Tracey ((hugs)) for your cousin.
Michele what else can you do? Surely not open the pool already?!?
Machka the way you find the positives in your situation is inspiring, and the photos are beautiful!
Our county is in High Risk, teetering on the brink of Extreme Risk, we’ll know Tuesday.
A group of gals have been line dancing at the grange, inside, unmasked. Just learned that one of the gals last Tuesday just tested positive for Covid-19. The good thing is she was already sick Saturday when several of them went to an indoor music event at the Elks, so she didn’t go. BUT I wonder if she infected someone Tuesday, might they still be asymptomatic Saturday?
It’s making me reconsider my excitement to get back to any indoor activities, even masked.
On a lighter note, this for those of us who struggle with the time change.
Lighter, lovelies!

Barbara- We don't know if the fireplaces work or not. The living room one with the grate is part of the original 1800s home. The one with the black door is in the master bedroom addition. I don't believe they have ever been inspected. My father in law bought the farm in 1993 and I don't remember there ever being a fire in either one. Maybe one day we will get that done.
Kylia0 -
Good morning all! Happy Monday!
Happy anniversary Katla!
Kylia- the house looks fantastic! It is amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do! The fireplaces are lovely; I hope they work for you!
Machka- I love your gratitude for what you have. I remember when your DH had his accident and the uncertainty of those times was palpable in your writing/describing them to us. I think he has come so far in such a short time! The fact that he is riding again (at all) is astounding! You are an amazing woman!
Heather- Ummm...is Edie balancing a rock on her head? lol
Sue in WA- What is it about kids shopping in mom's cupboards? My kids did the same with me when they moved out. Is your son's job taking him to San Diego? How far away from you is that?
Barbara - I think we are entering really uncertain times for c-19 and the precautions. It seems people are getting the idea that now that there is a vaccine that masks are not needed. (IMO some governors/states opening up fully and stating no masks needed are encouraging this). We will see an upsurge in cases; I am sure of it. For my part, I will continue to mask and practice the social distancing as I have all year (aside from my travel/visit with daughter).
Fresh week starting! I like Mondays. They always feel like a "do over" for me. Can I do better this week? Can I make better choices? Can I engage the kids more? Going to have to pace myself this week, as our kitchen beach party is on Friday. I need to reserve my energy for building the beach on Thursday night.
Talk to you all later. ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)2 -
PS...I really, REALLY dislike the time change at this time of year. I would rather have my daylight in the morning! It is seven o'clock and still dark out! Just think...if we never set our clocks ahead, it would gradually get lighter in the evenings and by mid summer would be light until 9:00pm. Instead, by midsummer it will be light until 10pm. Harder to get little ones to sleep when it is light out, plus easier to schedule fireworks if it is dark by 9...just saying. Give me morning light over evening light, anytime!3

Barbara - It's a lump of chalk. The woods are at the beginning of the rise up to the South Downs, a chalk ridge. The ground is covered in lumps of chalk, but that was a big one!!!!
You may remember I bought some Bea a padded anorak for her birthday. DDIL sent this photo this morning to show me that they have unzipped the sleeves for the first time. They are off to school on their scooters. I love the way Edie is pointing to her.
Feeling blessed in Hove, Heather UK xxxxxx
