During the night his wife said he suddenly felt awful and she called an ambulance. He died quickly.
Now, the story was told the day after by the widow on national TV. She said she was not against the vaccine, seemed very level-headed, but wanted to know what killed her husband. Now we still don't have the autopsy report--it was said it would take 2 weeks and now it's about that. The vaccinations were halted to stop panic. They needed more information to go forward. After a few days of study of the other cases, it was decided to proceed. I think they did the right thing, at least in Italy. It's a hard call.
And yes, I will get the vaccine when I'm up (my BIL is a doctor and after all he's seen, you don't want to take your chances with COVID). I will take any of the vaccines, AstraZeneca included.
People die unexpectedly, and when you have the whole world getting vaccinated at the same time, you're bound to have some of those unexpected deaths happen soon after but unrelated to the shot.
So there's good reason to think it was almost certainly unrelated, but you also want to err in the side of caution. But you also don't want to slow vaccination rates when dealing with a global pandemic. I do not envy the people who need to make these decisions!
Yep! Correlation or coincidence does not equal causation. Even when accounting for the *rare* or more dangerous types of clots, the incidence is still less than in the general population.
--Just because the correlation MIGHT NOT imply causation doesn't mean that it CAN'T imply causation. All that argument does is cast DOUBT upon the theory; not invalidate it. It doesn't actually disprove the theory. try doing some actual research beyond the remote control.
Actually, it does. There is no statistically accurate summation you can make in research that correlation might imply causation. You can state there might be a relationship, but not correlation. Correlation, like causation, has a specific statistical definition resulting from specific methodologies (ANOVA, ANCOVA, MANOVA). Relationship does not, which is you rely on the research and methodology/analysis to demonstrate the statistical strength of that relationship.8 -

When the data do not support a hypothesis, then that hypothesis is rejected. This is how research is done. The data do not support the hypothesis that the AZ vaccine causes blood clots. I actually work in healthcare and was on the frontlines of the pandemic caring for Covid patients. I bet that’s more than you can say.
I worked the frontlines in recycling and solid waste management thoru the plandemic, literally the filth of my densely populated region passing beneath my feet complete with bio-aerosols and thousands upon thousands of customers none of whom got sick from contact with my crew who never wore masks until Worksafe mandated it just a few months ago. Bless your service to others, mad respect. I left health care back a few decades ago because I could not turn a blind eye to the injustices I witnessed against the most vulnerable due to gov't cutbacks. I was told to put up and shut up or speak out and get fired and possibly sued. I quit, and became an advocate to watch over and help the most vulnerable navigate the system on a volunteer basis..its not a paying job and I have now been completely cut off from the people I cared for. Lawsuits are pending as I write.
So you were working with bio-aerosols (like by solid waste do you mean actual *kitten*?) and you had to be MANDATED to wear a mask? I think it was too late and maybe the fumes already got to you.11 -

That means it is 100 times, not 100 percent, higher than you claim. I have pointed this out to you and you keep repeating this, so you are not mistaken, you are lying. Lying is bad and it makes everything else you say wrong.
Who are you trying to benefit with your lies? Who is going to be helped by people dying?
At this point you are questioning the germ theory of disease, which a majority of sane humans have accepted since about the turn of the 20th century. Yes, tiny invisible bits of RNA called viruses can make you sick. If you have ever had any viral illness you should realize, it wasn’t caused by witchcraft or cell phone towers, it was a virus, and Covid is a virus. Viruses are passed from infected people to not-infected people, and the infected people are not always sick at the time. That’s how this works. It’s one reason surgeons wear masks, because someone figured out in about 1850 that coughing into someone’s abdominal cavity could make them sick, even if the doctor wasn’t sick.
I realize MFP moderation seems to have decided to stay out of this, but really at this point you and your aggressive lies shouldn’t be tolerable in a public forum. If they can delete people who advocate eating 800 calories because that kills people, they should be doing the same to someone like you who is trying to kill people.
Woah are you ever lost. Doctors wear a mask for BACTERIA not virus.
These tiny bits of RNA are in your jab too and many people get sick from it.
You are quoting outdated high school health class disease information, you so obviously have not done any research beyond what the people on TV said over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.
Except peer reviewed studies have repeatedly shown that masks do stop the spread, and that areas that implemented mask mandates had lesser cases than those that didn’t. You keep saying that no one has done research but what research are you referring to if not peer reviewed studies?12 -

Since deploying the vaccine, the average mortality rate hasn't changed.
With or without the vaccine, COVID has a 99.98% survival rate.
Those aren't bad odds.
Bad odds? Are you kidding me? I'll entertain your 99.98% survival rate. Out of the survival rate, we still don't know the long term impact of COVID-19. My coworker that "survived" is basically disabled at the moment. Brain swelling, heart swelling, she still has trouble breathing. She MIGHT be able to come back to work in a few weeks with restrictions if the new glasses she got for the double/blurry/prism vision helps and she's not exhausted all the time.
But yes, keep spouting that 99.98% "survive".
Same thing happens to many people from contracting respiratory illnesses EVERY year.
Long term health effects are actually very common. Propaganda parroting is something you are good at.
I have never the same since getting pneumonia over a decade ago for one. I know many more.
Global Frontline Nurses, look em up.
Frankly, unless you have M.D. or PHD behind your name, I couldn't care less about your uneducated opinions about COVID or about long haulers. PS....this same friend has had pneumonia in the past. She did NOT suffer the same long term effects like she is with COVID.
Also, Pot meet Kettle. Telling me I'm a "propaganda parrot" but in the next breath telling me to go look up some QAnon, conspiracy garbage.
Haha Backatcha..where is YOUR Degree? In your remote control I bet...so how you gonna know the vaccine works the survival rate goes to 99.8% from 99.7? DID you research> doubtful. Honestly without your tv and masks you would not have a clue we were in the deadliest pandemic ever.
SO you are not having any symptoms to suggest you are sick, but you better get tested to make sure you are not carrying anything that may make others sick. Even though it didnt make you sick or give you a symptom of sickness, If the flawed test tells you that you are sick, even though you do not have any symptoms make sure you self isolate for weeks on end so you dont give the sickness that didnt make you sick to anyone else, Then make sure to inject yourself with an unapproved experimental shot so you can avoid the sickness you may or may not have that may or may not give you symptoms that you may or may not pass onto others even if you get the shot that likely will actually make you sick. Giv'er!
That is a whole lot of word vomit to unpack. We'll have to agree to disagree on this one. You aren't going to change your mind and I'm not going to change mine. You do you and I'll do me. Take good care.
I get to safely hug my best friend and my mom at the end of the April because I'll be fully vaccinated. That's all that matters to me right now.9 -

I find it very hard to believe that you do not know ANYONE that has gotten COVID. How did that go for them?
I have seen this coming for 30 years...You are free to beLIEve and do as you feel best for your own health,I deserve that same freedom and i will not let the government system that allows poison into our food chain and environment tell me what is healthy for me. I have had some good friends and coworkers "get it".. one had a headache, the other stuffy nose, and mild cough for a day while feeling tired..the other tested positive and... NOTHING except being jailed in their own home for 14 days while feeling absolutely fine. A friend of a friend's grandmother died from it apparently but we know the pcr test she was forced to take that made her nose bleed for hours when she arrived at the hospital to die all alone in a strange place is also faulty so we cannot rely on even that statistic.
I was a palliative and special unit care nurse and I know the precautions you are believing in do absolutely nothing for the prevention of the spread of disease. You need universal precautions with at least two barriers. You know about those?
Wash up, glove up, fresh mask up, gown up, pass the barrier.
Wash up again, glove up, and gown up again, to enter patients barrier.
Do what you need to, remove second layer of gloves leave patients barrier, remove second gown and place in special handle biohazard bag, wash up leave the room.
Immediately remove the first layer of gown mask and gloves put into specially handled biohazard bags and wash up again. Not put sanitizer on and go anywhere with impunity touching everything while pushing a used pollution and bacteria collection farm up against your face repeatedly that has been sitting in your pocket and once saturated is soaking up every single thing you pass by and holding it all against your face.. that is a bunch of BS.
If the people you try to blame here are the ones who dont go to get tested or are not being traced back as vectors of transmission and whose parents still got hugs and visits and didnt get sick or die. Tell me exactly how are they the problem? I suggest its the people constantly thinking about covid, getting tested, running around misusing medical devices with a touch every three seconds during a conversation and actively killing their immune system with over sanitizing.
Without your obedience to what they say on tv and rampant misuse of masks, you would have no clue we were in the deadliest pandemic that after one year 99.9996% of the world has STILL not died from. Good luck with that. You are believing in the statements of known corrupt liars. I learned to stop trusting them long ago. Omg you are a nurse? That is *kitten* terrifying.
And she saw this coming as a 15 year old.
So, poster is 30 years old then?
and she says "I left health care back a few decades ago "
not getting how that would even be possible
At any rate at least we know she is not currently in any health or nursing position - which is good to know.
and just as well she isnt in Australia - one can lose one's nursing registration for posting medical misinformation on social media.
PS: do I win? I have really worked in nursing , most of it in primary care, for decades - the maths does add up in my case - going from starting as a student at age 17 to now at age 57

I have seen over 40 peer reviewed studies that show that masks are useless out in the general public conditions and they cause a host of other problems... you do you.
well, share them then - if there are really reputable peer reviewed studies which go against the findings of all other such studies, we can have a look at them.6 -

Give'r!
Omg you are a nurse? That is *kitten* terrifying.
It is scary.7 -

Giv'er!
"unapproved"? Who's taking a vaccine that hasn't been approved? Who are you waiting on approval from?
You can't even make a coherent point anymore. This is just getting sad.
Currently, three COVID-19 jabs have been authorized for emergency use in the United States. Emergency use authorization, is not approval by the FDA. You must have known that. When asked, the FDA backed that up and said they usually expect manufacturers to provide data from study participants from at least six months after vaccination when applying for a license. Ergo they are still experimental. Call them yourself..it is a real pain to get a live person. I have some unemployed friends who have all the time to research and make these calls. We are gathering evidence.
There are 4 available in Canada, none approved. I have witnessed actual calls to the manufacturers where they expressly say upfront that they are not approved. Did you contact the manufacturer of your jab? Probably not. Look up what disease enhancement due to pathogenic priming does in relation to corona vax testing done on animals. You might not like the results you find. The results of those studies are why they did not advance to human trials..until now. Somebody has to be the guinea pig...Be free to do so.
I support any of my friends who choose to get it with information and if they choose to take it, they get a warm "cheers to your good health". I really don't wish anything ill on anyone. You are bringing something never before approved for use on humans onto yourself. Something where the makers who while profiting in the billions are not responsible if they grievously harm or kill you, all for "protection" against something that one year later, over 99.999% of the world has not died from. You have a better chance of dying in a vehicle-related death while getting your groceries. Will you insist that we should ban cars too?
I looked it up - I’m assuming this is what you’re talking about:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7142689/
If I read the article right (and I’m not a science person, so this was a mental exercise for me) - That part of the article is talking about the vaccine trials in mice for the original SARS virus. The article ends with stating that the COVID-19 vaccine hasn’t been tested on animals and the author thinks it should be before it’s tested on humans. But then, this article was published in April 2020 - so the beginning of the pandemic - before ANY testing of COVID-19 vaccines would have been done.
I don’t know. I guess I could go and look and see what the actual testing of the COVID-19 vaccines looked like. But in my mind - if they’ve been giving these jabs for 3 1/2 months now (longer if you include the trials) and we aren’t seeing swaths of people die from Covid after getting the vaccine (that would definitely be newsworthy, and we’d be hearing about it), I’m going to assume that pathogenic priming isn’t an issue with this one.
Maybe I’m reading it wrong. Someone else who’s smarter than me can correct me if I’m wrong. But I’m still team vaccine.
Edit: fixed a typo15 -
If this hobbit knew how to interpret a research study she would see that the vaccine causes no harm and masks do prevent the spread of Covid. That’s what all of the actual data in the studies are showing. Sounds like she is the one watching the news.12

I just want my free donut. Someone never proves anything they say. This is a *kitten* show really. I can't believe MFP is allowing it to continue. Isn't it wrong to tell bulltwaddle about the virus online?4

hobbitses333 wrote: »rheddmobile wrote: »@hobbitses333 The mortality rate for Covid is higher than you have stated by a factor of 100.
Wow. I was wondering what you would find to say to me.
Yeah, doctors also use masks to prevent the spread of viruses. First of all, n95 masks will block small particles, and second, even poor masks block droplets.
But only someone deliberately trying to miss the point of what I was saying would pick on that, since I was responding to you saying that it was ridiculous to think that people got sick from tiny invisible things and that people never transmitted disease to others without being sick themselves. Those are both bald-faced lies.
I don’t even own a TV, since it’s now possible to stream TV shows. I do, however, subscribe to several medical journals.
An mRNA vaccine contains no virus whatsoever. It contains fragments of RNA which direct your cells to produce the spike
protein from the virus. You cannot get sick from the spike protein because it’s not a thing - it doesn’t have any way to reproduce itself, unlike a complete virus. People feel temporarily unwell after a vaccination because their own immune system is reacting to something foreign and learning to destroy it.
A while back I used the analogy of a photo at a police station in describing the vaccine. Your suggestion that people can get sick from a vaccine is as outlandish as saying a photo of a criminal could rob a bank.
It’s horrifying to think that someone who pretends not to believe in germs might have worked in health care. However, since everything that can be checked in your posts turns out to be a lie, I don’t see why this part would be true.20 -

Actually her profile says she was 45 yrs old in 2018.4 -

Guess I better not mention the nurse I knew that had to own up at her hospital that she had worked under the influence of drugs and alcohol and tried to hint for me to give her what I didn't use after being given it for pain after an operation which apparently is in hot demand on the street or the nurse last time I was in hospital that told me about all they get up to. Not nice hearing that when you are with an IV in you. Just saying not all medical people can be trusted. Just saying not all nurses are sensible.8

Give'r!
MFP needs a false news/sham/conspiracy/ reporting button.
God help your patients.
She doesnt have any patients and hasn't had for a long time - she said herself "I left health care back a few decades ago "

I know a few people who have refused the Astra Zeneca vaccine they were offered when their turn came up. It will keep happening. I don’t blame them because there has been a lot of negative press about it here, it hasn’t even been approved in the US, and they are scared. They are not anti-vaxx, they said they would take the Pfizer if they could. This is the danger of people who should know better spreading inflammatory claims. Not everyone has the means and knowledge to parse out fact from fiction - and to make an informed choice for themselves. You can’t really blame people for being fearful when they keep hearing stuff like this.7

LIES! There is no free donut with the vaccination!
But that's not a bad idea. Maybe I'll reward myself with a paid-for donut after the whole needle ordeal.7 -

Waiting for folks to start arguing about whether Krispy Kreme donuts are the best ever or are disgusting or whether they would rather get free bagels5 -
My husband and I will finally be eligible for vaccines on April 1. I am hoping like crazy that the appointment website criteria will actually be updated first thing April 1 and not just give the old criteria.5

I'd rather get free chicken wings.
Maybe the "system" will spin off a new thread for discussion of donuts vs wings.
I can't even with this whole thread.7
