Lisa painting, ugh, thanks for the reminder. When we’ve finished clearing the brush, painting the breezeway and touching up the decks will be the other summer projects. I probably loathe painting as much as I do vacuuming, but fortunately don’t have to do it as often  Happy news from your son, such a relief! Fitbit lies.
Margaret and Machka thanks for the security reminders.
Katla congrats on Yoga, know how you’ve missed it.
Debbie the lipstick guard... and the use you put it to
Welcome @ClareWantsProgress would you let us know what you want to be called and your general locale?
Flea what a relief for your son!
Michele if you get another inappropriate friend request, copy the profile link and paste it into a message to @Alex. She’s the mfp staffer tasked with dealing with these.
Kylia va va va VOOM! Oh and the car looks pretty jazzy too.
Machka that “excitement” meme made me laugh so hard I nearly peed my pants.
Tomorrow will channel my worry into chopping more brush.
Lighter, lovelies!

Sadly counting down the days until we move. We're currently at a mere 47, but six of them will be spent "down south" in northern Norway so we can get this year's potatoes in the ground. Meanwhile, I go out jogging every chance I get, to enjoy the vast open space around me (no trees!) and the eminently managable temperatures (currently about 0°C).
The Spitsbergen half-marathon was cancelled once again because of the pandemic. I had hoped to run it from home one more time, and was also hoping to get my daughter up here for the third time. She thoroughly enjoyed running up here, where the stark landscape soothes and refreshes an overworked mind. Neither of us will be here when the race was supposed to be run, but I think I'll challenge her to a virtual half-marathon. Her goal can be to finish in under 1 hour 45 minutes (she's one fast cookie!) and mine can be to finish. Period.
And when I'm not jogging, I'm trying to get rid of stuff so there will be less to carry and ship when we relocate. I'd hoped to do a lot of decluttering in conjunction with our move, but it turns out my husband is a packrat.
Who'd have known?

Morning, afternoon and evening, all...
On my second cup of coffee. Some day, an unwary doctor is going to tell me I need to stop drinking coffee, and it's not going to be pretty.
Speaking of doctors, have been reading up on the SIBO that has put a crimp in my style for nearly two years now, and my experience with it has been pretty much the norm. I was lucky, honestly, that I ran into a VA doctor who keeps up on the studies and the literature.
Also eating a few bites of rice for breakfast - with sweetener and almond milk. Brings back some of the better memories of my childhood. In my memory, we never ate rice for dinner, but my mother often fed it to us kids for breakfast, and we loved it. We never had cold cereals for breakfast, probably couldn't afford them, but often had oatmeal or cream of wheat or rice. When we had cooked eggs, my sister would only eat the yolks, and I only wanted the egg whites, so that worked out OK.
Of course, now I'm eating jasmine rice with almond milk and Splenda--but the memories didn't change.
Time to go change the laundry over, empty the dishwasher and put everything away, and then get outside and get some vinca dug up and potted for sale tomorrow. Before I go dig stuff up, want to do a run through the house to see what can be taken to sell at the farmers' market tomorrow. My herbs are ALMOST to the point where they're ready to sell - and the catnip absolutely is ready, but most of the others need a little more growing time.
Later, y'all,
Love,
Lisa1 -

Did a good tranche of memoir editing this morning. I'm currently writing about my intense religious phase in my early teens. I was going to be a missionary.
I had a revelation of a different sort this afternoon. Most of you know that I like to do my bonus afternoon exercise while listening to a foreign language series, or film. I'm very near to finishing my current ones (for the second time) and have been scouting out some likely suspects. One I found was dubbed into English, so I gave up on it. Today I was reading a review of Lupin and it said that Netflix automatically shows the dubbed version. (Call My Agent is in the original French for some reason). If it's automatic, it means you can change it! So, I found Lupin and found how to change it back to the original French with English subtitles. Then I went back to the film I had previously ditched and managed to change that one as well! Hooray!
I hate it when I come to the end of a box set. Bereft. Hence I've watched them through twice.

Barbara: I have missed yoga. I’m set to go today! Yay! 8 am. :ohwell:
Penny still at the pole: Is “down south” the location where you will be living? It seems like a grand adventure, but not easy for you be leaving “the pole.” I know you love it there.
Lisa: Coffee is health food—unless you are sensitive to caffeine. I’ve never been a fan of decaf, likely because my parents raised me with a morning cup of coffee with added canned milk and a teaspoon of sugar. Now I drink coffee black, and don’t use real sugar anymore. I use stevia to sweeten my coffee. It isn’t the same sort of sweet as sugar, but I’ve come to like it and it doesn’t add calories. :flowerforyou: Enjoy your time at the farmer’s market.
I have yoga class today. I hope to be there on time. It has been months since I was able to go to yoga. I called and confirmed that yoga starts at 10am. YAYYY!

Michele--I agree I enjoy looking at the old pictures and seeing the styles. I also find it interesting to walk at look at grave stones. Some are so interesting. When we are geocaching we go to a lot of old cemeteries and learn a lot. I like your turtle, it has sass!
Lisa--So happy for your son. Sounds like he has found his place. I keep telling myself even when fitbit doesn't count it my body knows.
Katla--Hope your yoga class was everything you missed and more.
Been working on the next schedule for work and if no one else quits I will be back to 40-42 hours a week. It has been over a year and am so looking forward to it. I am off this weekend and other then church Sunday morning have no real plans. I am so excited.

My husband is looking forward to when his hours are cut back to the old pre-Covid time when they lifted restrictions for retirees. Before if he went over 63hrs a month, they could take his pension for the month. Now, he can work as many hours as he wants, working 38 this week along, plus, for four months they are now paying "hazard pay"- an extra $5 an hour so he will work all he can for these four months(it just started in April I think) but he is really looking forward to working just 12-15 hrs a week again. He isn't complaining about the extra money that has been going in the savings accounts. One is four times what he used to try and keep it at. It wouldn't be so hard on him if he would go to bed at a decent time/get more sleep, but that is on him.

Our niece posted this about our nephew:
"Due to the hospital not receiving (his) Covid-19test results, they cancelled his surgery.
He'd traveled to Omaha (from Red Oak IA) and was even checked in and prepped for surgery.
It will be rescheduled in about 2 weeks. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers! **"
As disturbing it must have been for Russ and his family, believe our prayers and this postponement are all working to God's good plan,
Thank you all,
Lighter, lovelies!

Penny: Sorry about your sad days count. I know that you love Svalbard. I hope you get to know people in your new community and find many pleasant friends.
Vicki: Yoga was a delight. All of the people in the class are long time yoga friends and it was wonderful to see them after being locked down so long. The fitness center is requiring masks in all parts of the facilities. My locker was still there, as were all of the things I keep in it, such as my yoga mat. It felt quite a bit like coming home.
Peach: Your grandson is a handsome boy. I like the Class of 2028 t-shirt. It shows vision and a tangible goal.
Rebecca: You have the best sense of humor. I loved the truck loaded with Vick’s vapo-rub. No wonder there was not a problem with congestion. You often make me laugh. Thank you for it.
Barbara: Sorry that your nephew has to wait for upcoming surgery. I hope it all turns out well in the end and he has an easy recovery.
My headache is currently gone. YAY!!! I hope it says that way.

My parents had a pair of cleaning ladies come give an estimate, but now they are waffling about it. My mom is pretending everything is fine, while my dad is trying to help in an area he knows nothing about. They missed the chance to ask the ladies what they would clean, so now they are asking me. I suggested we have the ladies come once for a trial. That would give my parents a starting point to figure out what they want. But they didn't jump on my perfectly reasonable suggestion. We keep looking to my mother for domestic decisions but she just can't handle it. Just like I asked her how she makes pot roast and it came out tough and dry. Next time, I will do it my way, in the crockpot.
So we are slowly adjusting to my mother fading. We are lucky she doesn't fall or wander. It's just hard for me that my dad still looks to my mom for decisions instead of me. But not the worst. And at least they are pleasant about it.
Meanwhile I got into the cookies and busted my calories. I should have thawed some chicken yesterday. Oh well, I can start again tomorrow.

Did the Peak 10 Cardio Interval Burn DVD then took a walk around the block. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Jari Love Bootcamp Workout DVD
Debbie – about finances, that’s me. When Bonnie went to the Carolina Vet Specialist and was diagnosed with cancer, we had no idea what tests would be needed and how much it would cost, so Vince asked if we could use some of my landscape money if we needed to. I immediately said “no problem, of course we could”. As it turns out, we didn’t need it, but I was willing if we did. It just comes down to the fact that Vince feels that the landscaping is an unnecessary expense and I don’t. Here’s a picture of the bushes as they are now. For 13 years Vince has been saying that the bushes on the left would come back, and they haven’t. If they haven’t in 13 years, what would lead me to think that they ever will? I was told last year that we just need to trim the bushes. That hasn’t been done. So if it’s going to be me who needs to trim, I want something I can take care of.
Barbara – prayers coming your way
Penny – I’m so sorry you’re sad. You’ll learn the great things about the area you are moving to, it’ll just take time and before you know it, you won’t want to leave
Katla – how wonderful that you’re going to yoga again! Next step...Arrow
We go to the Green Room tonight to see “Always a Bridesmaid” Will need to leave in a bit to go get my shot of prolia
Jess called. Her car needs inspection and she can’t leave Iowa. Steve told me that he knows how to drive a standard so I’m suspecting that he and Vince will go out there, get the car, and probably drive it back.

Michele - You have been working for months to get the landscaping you want paid for. Why would Vince think he has any say whatsoever on how you spend it. I don’t know how the stimulus cheques work down there for sure, but my understanding was they were meant for each individual to help get them through and to boost the economy. Do you and Vince not get individual ones?
If the car needs an inspection why doesn’t Jess just got to a garage there?
Vicki - I hope your staff all stays put for a long while.
Carol - your grandson looks tall.
We finished our parallel with the new payroll system. All of our long days and weeks have paid off, when we received the discrepancy report and I compared all employees line by line we had 33 errors to investigate. 10 of those were errors on my part, I had put that some staff were being deducted for social club when they shouldn’t have.
I had two wonderful evenings this week to celebrate Mother’s Day with my girls. One each night. It was very special as we rarely get one on one time. Kaitlyn brought Ember her pup and she had an awful time getting her in the car to go home. It was quite funny, she actually got in the car and started driving away before Ember would go off the deck.
This was her watching Kaitlyn pack the car and ignoring every “come Ember”.
