Hi Linda, Our temps in the real world today got into the 50s but it was raining and windy all day. I did get a swim and walk in, and I'm starving tonight. I'm going to have the macaroni and cheese plait with salad, and dinner rolls, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have a slice of devil's food cake with chocolate ice cream and an iced mocha. I'll enjoy it out on the terrace again. I miss being able to sit outside in the real world.

Zzyyggy, I checked my weather app for the forecast. It was 70 degrees today, by Sunday the high will be 41 degrees. By Sunday your high will be 13 degrees! Yikes, that is 🥶! We were at Miss Nora’s today and she kept complaining that it was hot. She even turned on the air conditioning, but by then it was so nice and toasty inside and cooling off fast outside. I had no complaints. It was wonderfully warm.

It’s nice out here on the terrace tonight. Time for dessert now—Sweetie ordered rice pudding with caramel sauce. When I was real young my mom would make date nut bread. It’s had molasses and ginger in it and it was so good. She’d serve it buttered or with cream cheese and we could have a cup of tea with lots of milk in it. I loved it. That’s what I ordered for dessert tonight—buttered date nut bread with coffee.

HI Linda, Yeah I know the weather is going wonky. Today it's 40 degrees with rain. Sunday it's back to freezing. We're getting snow in the next couple of days. I hope it stays around for Christmas. For dinner I'm going to have a big bowl of beef stew with lots of dinner rolls and butter. A coca cola with that please. For dessert I'll have a slice of apple pie with vanilla ice cream and an iced mocha.

I’m coming in late tonight Zzyyggy. I saw what you ordered and I figured I’d order a piece of apple pie with ice cream, too. That sounds good right about now. I can sit by the fire for a while and then head on in to bed.

Hi Linda, we had snow today but not a whole lot. I really am wishing for snow on Christmas. There might be a storm this weekend. For dinner tonight I would love the bucket of KFC fried chicken with mashed potatoes, beans, and biscuits of course. A coca cola with that please. For dessert I'll have some apple crisp with vanilla ice cream and an iced mocha.

Zzyyggy, biscuits with chicken and gravy would be good. Thank goodness Viktor already knows what I want. (Viktor is the best waiter.) I ordered warm apple crisp with vanilla ice ream and caramel sauce for dessert. It sounded too good to pass up.

We won’t have snow for Christmas in Charlotte, NC, that’s for sure. They’re forecasting rain that afternoon—fairly typical weather for Christmas. Snow for Christmas is only fun when you don’t have to go for a long drive in it. I have not so fond memories of driving in the snow and ice at Christmas time. We traveled every Christmas for over 30 years and avoided lots of accidents on the Pennsylvania turnpike and Route 81 through Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. One time in Maryland on Route 48 (now Route 68) there was a huge pileup going up Sideling Hill—that was prior to 1985 before they cut through the mountain. Truly the stuff of nightmares if I think too much about it. We only had one accident and I was driving. I hit a guardrail with my front fender in order to avoid a tractor trailer that slid into my lane right in front of me. I think I made a good call on that one.

Hi Linda, I'm having fun right now watching the traffic out my window. There was an accident and fire trucks, ambulances, and police are there, but it's also right in the middle of rush hour traffic. People are being careless and in a hurry, and it's snowing hard out there. I'm glad I'm not out there. For dinner tonight I could go for the fried scallops, french fries, coleslaw, and a coca cola. Lots of tarter sauce. For dessert I'll have some klondike bars, and an iced mocha. I'll eat out on the terrace tonight and enjoy the warm tropical sun. Yes we do have a snow storm tonight, and theres already a significant amount of snow out there, so now I'm pretty certain we'll have a white Christmas. Yeah.

Zzyyggy, I’ll lift my iced tea in salute to your white Christmas. Viktor even added an umbrella to my iced tea. It’s very festive. I ordered the grilled salmon tonight with a Caesar salad. I asked Viktor to bring out some lemon wafers and to add some scoops of lemon sorbet to iced tea for dessert.

Hi Linda, it's stopped snowing about an hour ago, and we got quite a bit over night. It looks and feels like Winter out there, good thing, because this is the first day of winter. For dinner tonight I'm going to have a big bowl of seafood chowder with lots of bread and butter, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookies, and an iced mocha. I'll eat in the dining room by the fire place. Igor has set up a miniture train set to bring the food right to the table. Of course Viktor is keeping a sharp eye on it. There is also miniture flying reindeer flying around. I'm glad they are not the real things.

Hi, Zzyyggy. I love to watch it snow. Long ago we lived near a road called Frog Pond Road. It was a fairly straight road with farmland on both sides. When it snowed the snow banks would be so high it created a tunnel effect; a very narrow tunnel. Fortunately, it was a short road and I never met another car there. Riding down that road at night was magical when the snow was deep and the moon was full.

I made chili for dinner tonight. It turned out great, but there was no dessert. Time for a trip to the cybercafe. Viktor promised to bring a plate of Francois’ Christmas candies over to our table and a thermos of hot chocolate. Now I understand why he insisted on a thermos. Oh, the candies! Chocolate covered pecan toffee, peppermint bark, rolo pretzels, and Sweetie’s favorite fudge. Well, any flavor of fudge is wonderful as far as Sweetie’s concerned.

Hi Linda, that sounds like the road we had out to our camp. In the winter, since it was a private road there was no snow plowing it. We had trek in or in the later years had snow mobiles. There was a very long hill to go up, but it was coming down that was fun. My dad would tow us up the hill on the snow mobile and we rode a toboggan or skied down it. I've always loved winter. Now of course I don't have to drive in it or shovel it. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the Sunday roasted Turkey dinner with stuffing, mashed potatatoes, green bean, and squash with a coca cola. (We're having ham for Christmas so I'll miss the turkey in the real world. I'm thinking of having turkey on Tuesday night) For dessert I'll have the apple pie with vanilla ice cream and an iced mocha. I'll also munch out on those Christmas cookies. It was cold today. The high was 9 degrees out there with the windchill of 15 below zero. I didn't go out. Did a walk at home tape. Tomorrow it's suppose to get colder but I'm going swimming after my doctor's appointment so I won't be exercising outside again. Thank goodness for the Y.

Hi, Zzyyggy. Yes, the best time for snow is when you don’t have to drive in it or shovel it! It was colder here, but we’re still 25 to 30 degrees warmer than Vermont. The lowest temperature I’ve seen in the Charlotte area is 12 degrees—that happened once in 17 years. We’re southeast of the city so our temperatures can be somewhat warmer. You really are so lucky you have the Y.

Francois makes the best turkey dinner. Sweetie and I ordered the same thing you did, except Sweetie had pumpkin pie and ice cream.

Hi Linda, I went to the pool today and both pools were packed. The Y will be closed the next two days so that was why, and it is still really cold out there. I was hoping the cold would keep people inside. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the roast pork platter with mashed potatoes, gravy, and carrots. A coca cola with all that please. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream with chocolate sauce, and an iced mocha. I need a chocolate fix today. I'll eat in the dining room by the fire tonight, and watch Igor's miniture trains. Lots to see in the dining room

Hi, Zzyyggy. I guess the pool will be busy until the beginning of January. Of course, then lots of people start the new year trying to keep their resolutions to be healthier and get enough exercise. You’ll have to find that magic time to go swimming when you can have a lane to yourself and it’s not too early in the morning.

I ordered an iced brownie for dessert. It’s another cold night and it will be wonderful to sit by the fire and drink my coffee right here at the cybercafe. Whoa, did you see that? Viktor almost tripped over the train tracks.

Hi Linda, it's Tuesday, but it feels like Friday. We had snow all day today and it looks really pretty. I didn't get outside though. Did housework, and all that, and then walked on the treadmill upstairs, and walked the stairs, did some dancing. I got my work out in I guess. For Christmas Eve I'll have the prime rib dinner with baked potato, salad, lots of butter, and dinner rolls, and a coca cola with that. For dessert I'll have some klondike bars and an iced mocha. Merry Christmas Eve, and Merry Christmas. Francois is making both ham and Turkey dinners for tomorrow. He's already set out the pies, pumpkin, apple, and blueberry. Igor has really fixxed up the dining room, but tonight I'll eat out on the Terrace. I need some warm tropical air, and sunshine after the last couple of days. I think it's time for a bonfire, and roasting marshmellows for s'mores

Merry Christmas! The prime rib dinner was excellent this evening Zzyyggy. I think we’re going to have beef tomorrow at our son’s house. I made some Christmas cookies to take. It’s a good thing there are teenagers in their house—I won’t have to bring any goodies home.

It’s turned into a cool evening out here on the terrace tonight. The warm air was lovely at dinner this evening, but I’m glad there’s a little chill in the air now. It’s nice weather to sit by the fire and make s’mores. I’m going to add some hot chocolate to my coffee.

Looks like Christmas in Charlotte is going to be a lovely sunny day. I’m looking forward to tomorrow. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Hi Linda and Merry Christmas. I hope your day was a good day. That turkey smells awfully good guys. I'm going to have the turkey, stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes, squash, dinner rolls, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have the apple pie, with vanilla ice cream and an iced mocha. We had sunshine today in the real world. It was gorgeous out there all day with the snow and the sunshine. I'll eat in the dining room tonight. Ooooh there are stockings on the fireplace with our names on them, and quite a few presents under the main tree.

Zzyyggy! It’s another wonderful holiday at the cybercafe. I’ve gotten everything I dreamed of for this Christmas—at least virtually. Plus, the delicious turkey dinner with all the sides and desserts. I think the apple pie is a good choice for dessert, although I couldn’t resist a few cookies, too. Oh, I love the wrapping paper on this box. Yes, it’s a new pair of fuzzy bunny slippers. I love them!

We had a lovely day in the real world. It was sunny and the temperature was in the mid 50’s this afternoon. By this evening the temperature dropped into the 30’s and I had to wear my new scarf (Christmas present) and gloves on the trip home. Sweetie even warmed up the car for the three minute drive.

Hi Linda yes it was a grand day for me as well. It was cold again here in the real world, and foggy this morning, but the sun came out although it didn't warm up a whole lot. Got a swim in, and most of my other goals done. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the baked ziti with garlic bread, beans, and a coca cola. For dessert tonight I'll have some chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream with chocolate sauce, and an iced mocha. I'm going to eat down by the pool tonight after a quick dip.

Hi, Zzyyggy. I came in for dessert. Sweetie went to Costco and bought a rotisserie chicken and I made roasted potatoes with onions, fennel, and mushrooms. It was so good. However, Sweetie left the apple pie at the store. 😢 Fortunately, Francois made lots of pies for the holidays. Mm, apple pie with caramel swirl ice cream and an iced coffee sounds good for dessert. It’s really nice out here on the pool patio, Zzyyggy. What a beautiful sunset this evening.

You had a productive day today—that’s fantastic. We stayed up late last night and I was a bit fuzzy headed today. About the only thing I accomplished was a load of laundry. Now I have more laundry to look forward to tomorrow.

Hi Linda, I love those Costco rotisserie chickens. I had a relaxxing day today of sleeping in, doing an online grocery order, and reading. It was cloudy outside but we did get some sunshine. For dinner tonight I'll have a big bowl of seafood chowder with lots of bread and butter and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some of that apple pie with vanilla ice cream and an iced mocha. I'll have it in the diningroom next to the fire. I've been eating a lot of soup lately. It's just been cold and wintry around here.

Soup does sound good. We’ve had a cold, misty day and sitting by the fire with a bowl of soup would be wonderful. Francois made sourdough bread this evening. I think I’ll have the bread and french onion soup tonight. Sweetie says he wants apple pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert, too. After dinner I think I’ll order a pot of tea and nap in my chair by the fire.

Hi Linda, We had rain today, cloudy, but mild for us at 42 degrees. I didn't do a whole lot again today just sat and read. I'm trying to finish up some books for my goal of 80 books this year. So far I have 73 read, and several to be finished. I'm hoping to get 7 read by Wednesday. For dinner tonight I'm going to have a grilled porter house steak with baked potato, peas and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have a slice of devils food cake with vanilla frosting and an iced mocha. I'll eat in the dining room again by the fire.

I didn’t make it to the cybercafe yesterday, but I wouldn’t mind having a piece of that chocolate cake and a cup of coffee. I have no idea what to order for dinner. I’m not even sure what I’m actually making for dinner tonight. I made chicken soup last night and we could always have that again. In the meantime I can spend some time at the cybercafe eating dessert and reading my book. It’s great to eat dessert first.

Hi Linda, actually my kindle keeps track for me, with the kindle books I read. I've also kept a reading log on the computer just jotting down the title, author and date I finished. If I count that I probably have more the 80. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the Sunday pork roast with mashed potatoes, carrots, dinner rolls, gravy, and apple sauce, and of course a coca cola. For dessert I'm going to have a slice of blue berry pie with vanilla ice cream and an iced mocha. It's been raining out there all day, and all that beautiful snow is gone. I'll eat in the dining room by the fire place.

Hi Linda, we had a really gorgeous day today, and very mild at 54 degrees for us. I did get in a walk, and really enjoyed myself out in the sun. For dinner tonight I would love the KFC bucket of fried chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy, peas, and a coca cola, and of course those biscuits. For dessert I'll have some apple pie with vanilla ice cream, and an iced mocha. I'll eat down by the pool after a swim. Igor is already setting up the fireworks for tomorrow night. Hi, Zzyyggy. I ended up having a s’mores sundae last night at the bonfire. I’ll undoubtedly do the same thing while we watch the fireworks this evening. At the moment I’m out at the cyberpool enjoying a lovely morning. I’ve been enjoying my coffee and watching Igor and his team of elves decorate the patio and terrace for tonight. How they managed to clear out Santa’s village so quickly is a mystery. The gazebo on the terrace is already set up with tables. The decorations this year are gold and silver with a touch of blue. There are several stages for musicians set up on the terrace and one here by the pool, as well.

Here’s Viktor with my scrambled egg breakfast burrito fruit plate. Even with all the preparation work going on this morning the service here is superb.

Hi Linda, I'll be back after a dip in the pool. We had such a nice sunny mild day for the Northeast that I went for a walk in the morning. I found the perfect time to walk. Hardly anyone was around, and noone to get in my way. This was at 8:00 in the morning. Now if I can only get myself going at that time again tomorrow. No busses are running tomorrow so I can get to the Y, unless I walk up there, but adult swim isn't until 10:45. We'll see what happens. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the roast beef dinner with mashed potatoes, string beans, gravy, a coca cola, and plenty of dinner rolls, and butter. For dessert I'll have a slice of apple pie with vanilla ice cream and an iced mocha. I'll join you on the terrace for that Linda. I had a real mocha this morning. Not from Starbucks, but there is a coffee shop about a half a block away from me that serves them. It was good.

Hi Linda, the fireworks were spataculair last night as always. Victor and Igor do a good job, and Francois kept us well fed. Happy New Year. All day it's felt like a Sunday to me. For dinner tonight I'm going to have a platter of spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and butter, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some angel food cake with an iced mocha.
