Hi Linda, We've started our string of hazy, hot and humid days around here today. I went for a walk after lunch and it was humid out there. I like my swimming a lot better, but the Y's pools were closed today for cleaning. They'll reopen tomorrow. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the roast beef grinder with the works, a bag of chips and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some ice cream bars and an iced mocha. I think I'll eat in the nice air conditioned dining room with all the tropical fish swimming around.

Hey, Zzyyggy. It’s been hot and humid today in the Charlotte area. The dew point was up over 70 degrees today and the humidity didn’t drop below 90% until almost noon. 🥵 At least our air quality improved because last night we got an inch of rain surprise storm.

I came in for a nice visit and dessert. A piece of lemon pound cake with some fresh blueberries and a pot of Stash Earl Grey tea would be nice.

Hi Linda, another hazy hot and humid day today. Temp is in the 90s with 80% humidity. My AC is going. Got in a swim in the afternoon, and that felt good. For dinner tonight I'm going to have some chicken nuggets with onion rings, coleslaw and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookies. I'll eat out on the terrace tonight.

Hi, Zzyyggy. Hey, our weather in Charlotte was cooler than your weather in Vermont! It was in the high 80’s and even with lower humidity it still felt hot. This is the time of year when we spend our afternoons indoors.

I ordered the smoked turkey plate with coleslaw and macaroni and cheese as my sides. Viktor drizzled a generous amount of honey over the cornbread I ordered. Delicious. Francois has some iced lemon sugar cookies in the bakery case and I decided on those with iced tea for dessert. Good choice Zzyyggy, it really nice out here on the terrace tonight.

Hi Linda, we had another hazy, hot and humid day today. Temps were in the 90s again with high humidity. Thunderstorms this afternoon. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the lasagna platter with garlic bread, a salad, and coca cola. For dessert I'll have some klondike bars and an iced mocha. I think I'll eat out on the terrace tonight.

Hi, Viktor. I know it’s after 11:30 at night, but I’d love a cup of coffee, please. I completely lost track of time. I even missed seeing Zzyyggy. I think a bowl of chocolate chip mint ice cream and a generous amount of hot fudge sauce would be the perfect midnight snack. Then I know I’ll have sweet dreams.

Hi Linda, we just had some really intense thunderstorms. Some more are coming. Hopefully it will cool down for a bit. Got in a swim this afternoon, and got the rest of my goals done. I'm hungry for pizza, and chicken wings. Fortunately Francois has the outdoor pizza ovens ready to go. I'll have the cheesy stuffed crust pizza with barbecued chicken wings, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookies, and an iced mocha. I'll eat out on the terrace tonight.

Zzyyggy, it looks like you’re going to have that cooler weather. Our weather has been in the high 80’s, but we’ll be in the low 90’s starting tomorrow and by Monday it’ll be 96 degrees. Oh, joy. Francois made my favorite stuffed veggie supreme pizza. I can’t wait! Meanwhile I’ll sip my iced tea and nibble on these excellent garlic Parmesan breadsticks. They’re delicious. I checked out the bakery case on my way through the cafe and I saw some sandwich cookies I Have to try. They’re toasted coconut butter cookie sandwiches with a chocolate cream filling. Francois makes the best chocolate cream filling. 😋

Hi Linda, it did cool down, but we still had high humidity today. Didn't get in a swim or do much of anything else today. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the grilled swordfish with a baked potato, peas, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have a slice of the chocolate cream pie Francois made with an iced mocha.

Zzyyggy, the chocolate cream pie sounds delicious. I’m definitely ordering that. I definitely need a cold drink served the Southern way—with lots of ice. Summer is here and it’s going to be hot for a good long while.

Hi Linda, we had an overcasted day all day. The clouds and rain just hung in there. It was nice, but hopefully they clear out by tomorrow. I need to do some grocery shopping. I'm planning on walking up to City Market tomorrow and pick up some stuff. For dinner here I'm going to have a grilled porter house steak with baked potato, salad, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some ice cream sandwiches and an iced mocha. I'll eat out on the patio tonight since I didn't get to see the sun today. Igor is working on a bonfire and Francois has the s'mores set up. Igor is getting the place set up for the 4th of July as well.

Zzyyggy, you came in just a few minutes later than me. I’ll sit out on the patio with you even though we had sun today and it was hot! Sweetie and I chose a stain for our deck, carefully finding a color that would look good with the brick on the house—one that wasn’t too dark or too light. So Sweetie decided to paint the stain on just on board today. It’s supposed to be a terracotta color, however, at the moment it’s pink. Pepto bismal pink.

I need some chocolate. Some really good medicinal chocolate. Maybe even dark chocolate toffee crunch. And coffee, too. I wonder if toffee crunch would be good with toasted marshmallows.

Hi Linda, yeah thats not a good color for a deck or anything else for that matter. We had rain most of the day with some sunshine in between storms. I got in a walk during one of those lulls. Had to I needed some groceries. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the Sunday supper of Lasagna, garlic bread and butter with a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some apple pie and an iced mocha.

Hi, Zzyyggy. I walked through the cybercafe’s kitchen earlier and scarfed down some nachos with Francois. He was waiting on food in the ovens and was willing to share his nachos. They were delicious, but 🥵 hot stuff. I’m going to order an iced coffee and some more of the dark chocolate toffee crunch for dessert. Some milk chocolate toffee crunch would be good, too. We used to live near a chocolatier’s shop that made chocolate toffee crunch.

Hi Linda, we had rain most of the day today, and it was dark and dreary. Got in a walk when it stopped for a bit in the afternoon. Just got back. Now the sun's out, and the sky's are blue. Temp is a chilly 69 degrees. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the fried chicken platter with mashed potatoes, gravy, peas, biscuits, and a coca cola. Lots of butter for those biscuits. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookies and an iced mocha. I think I'll eat out on the terrace tonight and watch the sunset.

Gee, Zzyyggy, it was 96 degrees here in the Charlotte area today, 69 degrees would be a dream come true. I’m hoping we get some rain, but the rain the weatherman is talking about doesn’t sound like it will be that much. It doesn’t look like things will cool off for us anytime soon.

I think an iced mocha and the chocolate chip cookies will be perfect for dessert tonight. It’s a nice evening out here on the terrace.

Hi Linda, We had a perfect day here in the real world. No humidity and reasonable heat, plus no rain. Got in a swim, and went to the Shelburne Museum, and got in a walk. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the meatloaf platter with mashed potatos, gravy, peas, dinner rolls, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some devil's food cupcakes with chocolate frosting, and an iced mocha. Did I say I needed a chocolate fix? I'll eat out on the terrace again since I don't have a terrace at home to eat out on. I love watching the sunset anyways.

Zzyyggy, I would like some reasonable heat, please send it my way the heat here is unreasonable. Thanks for the recommendation of the meatloaf platter—delicious comfort food. When I first arrived at the cybercafe this evening, before heading out to the terrace I grabbed Viktor and ordered ice cream for dessert. I have an espresso sundae on the way. Yes, coffee ice cream with chocolate sauce, brownie chunks, chocolate ice cream, hot fudge sauce, whipped cream, a good sprinkle or two of chocolate covered espresso beans and chocolate curls with a cherry on top. Actually, I think the chocolate sauce was on the bottom. Sweetie and I would share an espresso sundae from Ralph’s Ice Cream Shoppe, but during the Covid restrictions Ralph’s went out of business. We only got to have two sundaes, one each summer. Fortunately, Viktor’s espresso sundae is just as wonderful and I don’t have to share it with Sweetie. That’s my chocolate fix tonight.

Hi Linda, I'm starving as usual. I'm going to have a big plate of spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and butter, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have a maple vanilla creamy twist and an iced mocha. We had another perfect day today. Rain in the morning, but it cleared up in the afternoon. Temp is 79 degrees. Am headed out for a swim in a bit, but did get the rest of my goals done, and my apartment cleaned.

Sounds like you had a great day, Zzyyggy. We had another hot day today. Our daughter-in-law stopped by to do her laundry and we had a nice visit. Her washing machine broke down and the part they need to fix it won’t be here until next Tuesday. 😳 I told her she could use ours, no problem. At least we only live three minutes away. The day went so fast and I’m tired, but I’m not sure how much I accomplished. I had all these little tasks to do. You know, the things no one else will notice, but you still have to do them? So this evening the pantry shelves are all neat and straightened out. Not terribly exciting is it?

Sweetie says I should order a brownie sundae with vanilla ice cream and M&M’s. That works for me with the addition of fudge sauce. Sweetie wants his brownie sundae with vanilla ice cream topped with Heath Bar minis. Clarification: He wants 20 Heath Bar minis. 😮 Maybe he needs chocolate?

Zzyyggy, the high temperature today at my house was 82 degrees! After all the days in the mid 90’s it’s a tremendous relief. I appreciate that you sent us some reasonable heat. Sweetie went shopping at Costco today and got rotisserie chicken for dinner. 😋. Time for dessert. Coffee and chocolate chip cookies sound good. I’m all ready for Igor’s pre-holiday fireworks show—noise canceling headphones at the ready. I love these headphones because you can still hear everything, but the really loud sounds don’t hurt your ears. If people didn’t think I was crazy I’d wear them to the movie theater. Of course, I don’t go to the movies because it’s so expensive and I’d rather spend the money elsewhere.

Hi Linda, I have a set of noise canceling headphones as well, and the places I go to, I need them a lot of times. I'm bummed out because I didn't get to go swimming today. My adult swim time was canceled on short notice. They are having problems with getting lifeguards. I love Costco Rotisserie Chicken. Francois if you have the recipe that would be yummy with potato salad, and coleslaw, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookies and an iced mocha. When I go to Market32 I get their rotisserie chicken. It's okay, but not as good as Costco's. It was a perfect day today. No humidity and temps in the 70's. I could still go for a walk, but not really getting there.

Yes, Zzyyggy, Costco’s rotisserie chickens are the best. Chicken with potato salad and coleslaw for dinner for me, too. I’ll have that and biscuits, cornbread, or rolls or whatever delights we find in the bread baskets—what does Viktor have for us this evening? I consulted Betty’s email for dessert suggestions and the M&M’s brownies looked good, but the brownie ice cream sandwiches sound even better. Of course, I can add M&M’s to the ice cream sandwiches by rolling the sides of my ice cream sandwich in M&M’s. Ta da.

You would think there would be enough lifeguards at the Y since it’s summer. Maybe the lifeguards have found better paying jobs elsewhere. Then again, do they hire college students usually, but in the summer the college students head home?

Hi Linda, I totally forgot about coming in here yestarday until about 11:00 last night. By then I was already in bed nodding off. We had a perfect day today after the wet and wild day we had yestarday. Nice mild temps and sunshine. Took it easy all day. For dinner tonight I'm going to have some barbecued spareribs with corn on the cob and grilled potatoes and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream and an iced mocha. I'll eat out on the terrace tonight.

Hi, Zzyyggy. I’ll join you on the terrace for another beautiful evening at the cybercafe. At home we had a pretty looking morning the was actually horribly hot and humid that turned into thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. So far we’ve gotten an inch and a half of rain. I’m not complaining about the rain though. Eastern North Carolina is in drought and the western part of the state is considered abnormally dry and heading into drought. The corn and soybeans in the fields around us are half the size they should be. Most of the crops in this area are feed crops. Hopefully, it’s not too late to help, but in some areas they have already lost half their harvest.

I think I’ll order the same dessert you’re having, Zzyyggy. Blueberry cobbler sounds good.

Hi Linda, Some of our crops are getting too much rain up here to grow. Hopefully mother nature will even herself out. I'm starving again tonight. Hi, Zzyyggy. The macaroni and cheese was yummy, as always, but I'm so tired I debated whether to eat dinner or take a nap. Apple pie with caramel swirl ice cream for dessert sounds good for me. I like coffee with dessert or for dessert—not that I have to have it, but no coffee in the house in the morning would have me going out to the store, too.

I think I’ll spend the evening in the Club Room with my book. It’ll be nice to sit back and relax and share my recliner with a cat or two.
