Hi Linda, another gorgeous day out there today. I could really get use to this. For dinner tonight I'm going to have a bucket of fried chicken from KFC the original recipe with mashed potatoes, gravy, corn on the cob, and biscuits with butter, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have a slice of apple pie with vanilla ice cream and an iced mocha. I'm going to have dinner down by the pool tonight. Igor has it all decked out for the fourth, and I'm thinking a bonfire later tonight.0

Hi, Zzyyggy. Sweetie made potato leek soup for dinner. Yum 😋 Delicious. The temperature dropped into the mid 80’s so it wasn’t too hot for soup. No, Sweetie just wanted to make soup. I ordered a berry ice cream trifle for dessert—layered with vanilla ice cream, mixed fresh berries, and fudge sauce. Oh, yes. I can sprinkle some M&M’s on top. Might need more M&M’s here.
Huh, check it out, even the M&M’s are red, white, and blue. Now my trifle matches the decorations around the cyberpool. You know, it’s taken all this time to realize that the liner on the pool is computerized and they can put any digital image on it. Nice flag.
I think I might need a nice hot cafe mocha. I’m feeling a little chilled.0 -
Hi Linda, soup does sound good. I love a good homemade soup like that sometimes with bread and butter for dipping. For dinner tonight I'm going to have some lasagna with garlic bread, a salad and a coca cola. Igor is already for the fireworks tonight. We're also going to have a large bonfire by the pool and s'mores later. There will be some night time swimming, and maybe a little skinny dipping? The boys promised not to look.0
-
Well, Zzyyggy, Sweetie is cooking again tonight. He’s making our version of refried beans—actually not refried, but cooked in the microwave until so tender that the beans can be mashed. And he’s making beef fajitas. He’ll have tortillas with his dinner, I won’t. I love when he cooks, although he’ll ask how to make something and then makes things entirely different sometimes. Most of the time it works out well—that happens to me, too.
I can see Igor setting up the fire pits for later this evening. I hope Viktor remembers to stock the freezers with ice cream for s’mores sundaes. I’m thinking coffee ice cream would taste great, although vanilla and chocolate are always good. Chocolate chip mint ice cream would taste great, too.
A midnight swim with skinny dipping? What happens at the cybercafe stays at the cybercafe.0 -
Hi Linda, Happy 4th of July. Francois has the outdoor grill set up. I'm going to have the barbecued porter house steak with baked potato, salad, and coleslaw, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some of that red, white and blue cake Francois made with vanilla ice cream and an iced mocha. Igor has the tiki lamps set up and is preparing the fireworks for tonight. In the real world last night's fireworks were spataculair, and I didn't have to go anywhere for them.0
-
Zzyyggy the grilled steaks were delicious. I had the grilled vegetables and potato salad with mine. Francois was shaking things up with grilled peaches and nectarines served with his homemade granola and homemade peach cobbler ice cream for dessert. I couldn’t pass that up. He promised to keep the barbecue going through Sunday evening. Thank goodness. A five day holiday sounds amazing with good food, lots of swimming, boating, and hiking and a five night stay at the Inn at the Cybercafe. WOW!
You are so lucky to be able to enjoy the fireworks without having to leave home with the added bonus of avoiding the loud noise., Zzyyggy. We can’t see fireworks from our house, although sometimes we can hear them off in the distance.0 -
Hi Linda, Yeah I know I had a great view. The next set of fireworks for us will be on New Year's Eve unless there is something else I don't know about. For dinner tonight I think I'll have the grilled porter house steak with baked potato, mushrooms and onions, and corn on the cob with a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookies and an iced mocha. I've been craving warm chocolate chip cookies out of the oven lately, but I don't have anything in the house to make them. I am going grocery shopping tomorrow so maybe.... Another bonfire tonight with s'mores I could get use to this life.0
-
Hi, Zzyyggy. Whew, it’s been so hot in the real world I had to visit the cybercafe to cool off. I ordered the barbecue chicken with tomato salad and baked potato for dinner. Right now an iced tea would be great I asked Viktor to ice it with mini scoops of lemon sorbet.
Our neighbors set off lots of fireworks last night. I’m sure we’ll be hearing them over the next couple of nights, too. We have a couple of neighbors that light up fireworks for just about every occasion, although not as much lately. Apparently, fireworks have gotten more expensive—almost triple the cost.0 -
Huh, apparently I missed a day. I thought I posted before midnight. Oh, well. We had a bad thunderstorm and our internet provider went dark. So frustrating. At least it’s sunny at the cybercafe. Zzyyggy, is Francois planning a crab and clam bake on the beach tomorrow?
Tonight I’m having the fried chicken picnic dinner. It comes with all the sides.0 -
Hi Linda, I think he is planning on that, and it doesn't look like you missed a day. I would love a thunderstorm in the real world. It's been too hot here as well, and very humid. Got in a swim and a walk today. Temps were in the high 80s. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the bacon cheeseburger with onion rings and a root beer. For dessert I'll have some more of those chocolate chip cookies and an iced mocha just keep the mocha's coming Viktor.0
-
Hi Linda, another gorgeous day here in the real world, but hazy, hot and humid. Only sat outside for a bit, temps were in the high 80s. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the barbecued chicken because the grills are still set up with potato salad, coleslaw, and corn on the cob. A coca cola with all that please. For dessert I'll have some brownies with an iced mocha. I'll eat out on the terrace. Yes we're having another bonfire tonight with S'mores.0
-
Zzyyggy! We didn’t have home internet for 24 hours. The node got a direct lightening hit. Of course, we still had our phones, although even the cell service wasn’t great last night. I wasn’t too concerned, but Sweetie was really annoyed. He used to be more easygoing.
Today is World Chocolate Day. Here’s Harry and David’s take on it:
Oh, yes, please! I’m ordering this for dessert tonight.
Barbecue is always good. Maybe the crab and clam bake will get pushed to next weekend.
Looks like we’re in for another round of thunderstorms right now. Yesterday the high was 100 degrees. Today was cooler at 91 degrees, but it was still horribly humid. Our forecast shows thunderstorms/rain every day for the next 14 days. Oh, joy.

Hi Linda, glad you made it back on. I know how frustrating it is. Another gorgeous hot day here today. I'm glad my exercise of choice is swimming. It got to be 88 degrees around here. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the meatball grinder with lots of cheese, a bag of potato chips, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some of that chocolate too with an iced mocha. I'll eat out on the terrace tonight.0
-
Hi, Zzyyggy. Well, another Monday and another humid day with lots of sun and heat. I checked our forecast and it looks like we’ll be getting more sunny days than yesterday’s forecast showed. It will still be hot and humid, though. Francois made my favorite chicken salad and I ordered that on a croissant for dinner. Here’s Viktor now with our sandwiches and drinks. Mmm, iced tea for me. I’m definitely having more of the chocolate dessert tonight. The chocolate cake sure looks good. I know you’re not a fan of cherries so I’ll gladly eat the chocolate covered cherries. I love those things. If they weren’t so expensive I’d have a monthly order (or weekly order) for a bag of chocolate covered cherries. I wonder how many come in a bag. 🤔0

Oh, my, according to Betty it’s National Sugar Cookie Day! I love cookies ❤️. I’m in the cybercafe’s kitchen with Francois painting cutout sugar cookies—sailboats and shells and suns. Francois made all these beautiful and delicious cookies. He also made mini sugar cookie tarts filled with homemade preserves and lemon curd and even some with chocolate mousse. I can’t wait until dessert!0
-
Hi Linda, yes I did see that on Betty's email. I love sugar cookies. Another hazy, hot and humid day today. We had 90 degree weather today with high humidity. I'm so glad my exercise of choice is swimming. Got in a swim early this morning, and got the rest of my goals done. For dinner tonight I'm going to have barbecued chicken with corn on the cob, potato salad, and a coca cola. For dessert well, hmmm, a half a dozen of those sugar cookies with an iced mocha. I'll enjoy everything out on the terrace with the cool breeze.0
-
Hi, Zzyyggy. Yes, at 6:00 pm our heat index was 102 degrees, but at 8:00 pm now it’s cooled down to 88 degrees so it feels like 98 degrees. By tomorrow morning it will be a nice cool 78 degrees. That’s with 98% humidity. Sweetie told me he was going to mow the lawn this evening. No, just no. Maybe by Thursday it will be okay for him to be working outside in the heat and humidity. I think he forgets how old he is.
Francois made macaroni and cheese with lots of veggies for me. Okay, he called it pasta primavera, but with all the cheese added I call it macaroni and cheese. 😋 I’m ready for my sugar cookies. Viktor is bringing out your iced mocha and my iced tea, plus a tray of sugar cookie goodies.0 -
Hi Linda, It started out being hazy, hot and humid again, but right now we're getting a ton of rain from Beryl. Lightning, and Thunder as well. I just got back from Bingo, and chit chatting. For dinner tonight I'm going to have what you had last night with lots of cheese, and garlic bread and a coca cola. For dessert I think I'll have some more sugar cookies with an iced mocha. I'll eat out on the terrace again tonight.0
-
Zzyyggy, the cheese and garlic bread sounds so good I’m ordering some cheesy garlic bread for dinner. I think I’ll have sugar cookies with ice cream for dessert—perhaps coffee ice cream and an iced mocha, too.
Are you playing bingo where you live? That would be nice. Just a short walk downstairs and you can enjoy an afternoon or evening out. I saw that there were tornado watches in your area Zzyyggy. Not something you normally see. I was surprised we didn’t get rain from Beryl. It was still hot here today, but there was a nice breeze so it didn’t feel as oppressive as it has been.0 -
Hi Linda, no I have to go out to the Senior Center on Heineberg rd near where I use to live. After Bingo I go next door to visit with some old friends on the porch. We were watching the thunderstorm from there yestarday afternoon. No tornadoes reported but lots of heavy rain, flooding, and thunder and lightning yestarday. The same towns that got flooded last year got flooded this year. In Montpelier and Barre the river runs right in the middle of both towns. The same with Waterbury, but that's the way most towns were built back then. For dinner tonight I'm going to have pizza and barbecued chicken wings with a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some more sugar cookies, and an iced mocha. I'll eat out on the terrace again tonight.0
-
Hi, Zzyyggy. I’m glad you didn’t have to deal with flooding. I like stormy weather as long as I’m safe and dry.
I’ll join you on the terrace for dessert. Francois made me a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner tonight. The fresh sliced tomato on the sandwich was delicious. Viktor’s promised he’d make us some sugar cookie ice cream sandwiches. I’m having mocha swirl chocolate ice cream on my ice cream sandwich with the sides rolled in mini M&M’s. 😋0 -
Vikto, Zzyyggy’s late! I’ll go ahead and order and make my way out to the terrace. Francois is cooking sun dried tomato chicken and roasted vegetables, a favorite of mine. I’ll have the stone fruit tart with vanilla ice cream for dessert. And would you please send a pitcher of iced tea to the table? Thanks, Viktor.0
-
Hi Linda, I just realized I missed yestarday. I'm not sure how that happened, but it was a weird day for me all day anyways. I'm back though. It was another day of hazy, hot, and humid weather around here in the real world today, and we had quite the down pour earlier. Got a walk in though after the rain was gone. Maybe I'll order up another snowstorm for the cyber cafe, or move the cafe to the north. Naaah, easier to just order up another snow storm. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the porter house steak with baked potato, salad, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some brownies and an iced mocha. A new cookie place just opened up on Church street, and I got some fresh baked cookies finally. I haven't eaten them yet been resting from my walk, but boy does that place smell good.0
-
Oh Lordy! James...Sweet James, please bring me a large...No! two hefty slices of tiramisu with all the fixins'. Gawd, this will go right to my thighs..sigh". Where the hell is James? Help is so hard to find.."sipping a Cosmo".0
-
Viktor, I think the new waiter needs help getting @diggymo1972 their order! Don’t worry diggymo, Zzyyggy’s staff at the cybercafe is fantastic. And don’t worry about your thighs, these calories don’t count.
Zzyyggy! Good to see you. I would definitely enjoy a snow storm right now. I’m ready for the summer to cool down, too bad I’ll have to wait until sometime in October. You’re welcome to send me cookies from the new cookie place anytime—you know how much I love cookies 🍪! In fact, I saw some of my favorite big, crunchy chocolate chip cookies in the pastry case as I was walking through to the terrace and I ordered one of those and an iced tea.0 -
It’s National Mac and Cheese Day! This is so exciting. Who gets to decide these things anyway? How strange that they picked Bastille Day. I’m fairly certain they’re not eating mac and cheese in France today, although I think it’s a great way to celebrate. 😉 Francois will be celebrating the day for sure. Well, I’m not entirely sure which one he’s celebrating since he is a French chef, but he always has mac and cheese for me (even though he might have fussy names for it).
Perhaps Francois will make my very favorite cold pasta salad with lots of fresh vegetables, plus ham, pepperoni, and salami, and, of course, cheese. It qualifies as mac and cheese because, while the original salad had provolone and mozzarella cheeses, you can add anything you want. Add a simple dressing of olive oil, vinegar, oregano, and salt and pepper. I always made it the night before serving because then the salad has time to marinate. I’m definitely ordering this for dinner tonight, especially because I can only eat this at the cybercafe since I’m allergic to some of the ingredients. By the way, do you know how difficult it is to live in the South when you’re allergic to pork? Picnics are particularly torturous. I’m uncomfortable asking a host about who made/what’s in everything that’s being served. I tend to stick with raw fruits and vegetables.
Somehow I’ve managed to get off on a tangent here. I think I’ll have an early lunch. I can order traditional mac and cheese and Viktor will make my favorite iced tea with mini scoops of lemon sorbet and all will be right with the world. Ha, now there’s a wish I wish were true.

Hi, Linda, yes I've oftened wondered who gets to decide these things. Welcome to the cyber cafe Diddlymo. I'm going to have a big plate of mac and cheese with garlic bread and a salad, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some brownies, and an iced mocha. I'll eat it out on the terrace and enjoy the cool summer breeze.. Yes I think I can go with a snow storm as well.0
-
Zzyyggy, here’s some more brownies. Francois iced some, too. Mmm, delicious.0
-
Hi Linda, I think the snow storm is going to be Tuesday night into Wednesday and Thursday. Are you ready. We're suppose to have the hottest day on Tuesday around here. I just made macaroni salad for tomorrow night, and egg salad for lunch tomorrow. For dinner tonight at the Cyber Cafe I'm going to have pizza. Francois has set up the outdoor pizza ovens again. I'll have one with the works, and some onion rings and a coca cola. I'll eat out on the terrace and enjoy the sunset. For dessert I'll have some klondike bars and an iced mocha. Maybe we'll have a bonfire outside and s'mores before the big storm.0
-
Okay, Zzyyggy, I’m ready for the snow. It’s been hot and humid. Today it went up to 96 degrees until, at 3:00 pm. a passing storm blew some wind and a tiny bit of rain in and then the temperature dropped 20 degrees. That doesn’t happen often, usually it gets hotter and even more humid and horrible when it rains in the summer. Of course now, at 7:00 pm it’s almost 86 degrees, but it feels like 99 degrees.
Pizza with lots of vegetables for me, please. Mm, garlic knots. Oh, good, here’s Viktor with more iced tea. I think I’ll have a s’mores sundae for dessert later this evening.0
