Hi Linda, no no Aragog. We had a warmer and more humid day today. I went shopping, and picked up a prescription. I went in the afternoon so couldn't get my iced mocha. I didn't get a walk in outside but did plenty of walking in the store. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the grilled porter house steak with mushrooms and onions, and a baked potato. A coca cola with that please. For dessert I'll have some of those klondike bars with an iced mocha. Yup I'll eat it out on the terrace again tonight.. Later we'll have a bonfire and s'mores.

Zzyyggy, having s’mores tonight was a great idea. It’s a nice night out here on the terrace. The moon is getting brighter—it’s almost full. I enjoyed dinner tonight. The steak was delicious and I loved the mushrooms and onions. Did you get any of the grilled vegetables? They had just the right blend of herbs and spices, plus the baked potato was perfectly cooked so the inside was nice and fluffy. Oh, oh, almost dropped my marshmallow in the fire.

Thanks Viktor. I really appreciate when you lightly toast the graham crackers for the s’mores. Mm, perfect. Did I get marshmallow on my nose? Perhaps I should try to take smaller bites. Thanks for my pot of tea, Viktor. You are the world’s best waiter.

Hi Linda, it's gotten hotter and humider out there. It's 82 degrees with 80 percent humidity. I tried sitting outside in the shade this afternoon, but it was too hot. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the Sunday prime rib dinner with a baked potato, fried zucchini, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some brownies and an iced mocha. I'll eat by the pool tonight after going for a swim first.

Hi, Zzyyggy. Hey, you had hotter weather than I did! We had 12-14 mph winds today. So, while the temperature was in the high 70’s and the humidity ranged from 65% to 75%, it was very comfortable. Of course, we’re used to the hotter temperatures with high humidity. It was mostly cloudy today, but there was some sun, but this evening’s sky is full of dark, low, ominous clouds. It’s not supposed to rain until tomorrow morning, however, it was sprinkling when we went out for dinner earlier. Isn’t it nice that I’ve provided such a detailed weather report?

Viktor will be out shortly with my coffee and brownies with mocha icing. I didn’t realize Igor decorated the patio around the pool with strings of mini pumpkin lights. It’s not as spooky as the terrace. The pumpkin planters filled with mums are lovely.

Hi Linda, we had another hot and humid day today and it's September. It was 81 degrees with 70 percent humidity. I got in a walk and a swim, and am finishing up my goals. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the barbecued chicken with potato salad, corn on the cob, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some chocolate layered ice cream cake with an iced mocha. I'll eat out on the patio.

Zzyyggy, it’s raining here. I mean it’s absolutely pouring rain right now. It drizzled most of the day, however, we’re supposed to have more rain this evening and for the rest of the week. It’s been really windy and the temperature has stayed mostly in the mid 60’s. This is typical weather for late October/early November for us. Did we get your weather by mistake? Nah, I realize we can blame the new tropical storm Helene for this weather system. It’s been hanging off the coast for a bit before it decided to push into North Carolina.

Mm, barbecued chicken and potato salad and corn on the cob. Yum. We’re having steak and broccoli here. I really wanted macaroni and cheese, except cheese is making me itch again. That means my dairy allergy is back. WAAAAAAA! I’m very grouchy when I can’t have cream in my coffee and cheese on my veggies.

Chocolate layered ice cream cake sounds marvelous. I’ll have that, too. I didn’t get any for my birthday this year. I had planned on having an ice cream cake, but our plans got changed.

Phew, I was wrong, that wasn’t Tropical Storm Helene. No, Wilmington got over 18 inches of rain (we only got 4.25 inches) in a Potential Tropical Cyclone. North Carolina and Virginia residents will be so relieved. Yikes! I can’t even imagine 18 inches of rain in a 12 hour period. The East coast sure has gotten lots of rain this summer. Is it still summer?

Viktor made me a delicious cup of coffee with cream and sugar and left one of those lovely baskets full of mini pastries on my table. He opened the french doors so I can enjoy the view looking out over the patio and orchards. What a beautiful morning at the cybercafe.

Hi Linda? How is your dairy allergy doing? We had another warm and humid summer day today. Do you get to see the full moon? Check it out if you can tonight. We're suppose to have a partial lunar eclipse tonight as well. I got in a swim and walk today, and I'm starving. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the meatloaf platter with mashed potatoes, gravy, peas and dinner rolls with lots of butter. A coca cola with that please. For dessert I'll have a slice of blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream and an iced mocha. Alright Igor that's enough spider webs in the trees out here. I hope those aren't real ghosts floating around out here. Don't they only come out in the dark. It's still light out here.

Hi Linda, Hope that goes well. I'll have the macaroni and cheese dinner tonight as well with fried zuchinni on the side, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookies, and an iced mocha. We had another nice summer day but it clouded up in the afternoon. Didn't get a chance to either swim or walk today. My little cart that I carry stuff around in broke between the Y and home yestarday and I had to carry that and all my stuff home. Needless to say I was a bit tired today and lame. I'm ordering a walker for better walking support and with a basket big enough to carry all my stuff, or maybe I should carry less stuff? Naw.

Oh, fried zucchini! These are delicious. I saw you had blueberry pie last night, Zzyyggy and I’ve decided I’ll have blueberry pie and ice cream for dessert. Sorry to hear about your cart. How awful and frustrating. I find it difficult to limit the stuff I carry. I mean, what if an emergency comes up and I’m not prepared? I do realize that it’s unnecessary to carry a parka in case my plane goes down in the arctic. Besides, I’m afraid of flying and I’m not planning on going to the arctic any time soon or ever. However, if I need to take a plane to the arctic I’ll be prepared just in case disaster strikes.

I didn’t intend to allow the fact that Igor has, once again, gone overboard in the extreme on Halloween decorations. I know he feels that this is HIS holiday. I do understand. But, wow, the terrace has begun looking like a graveyard. I don’t know how he’s managed to make it foggy, even in the daytime. As for the ghosts, well, this is the cybercafe, where anything is possible. Yes, ghosts can come out during the day. Sweetie says he’s a ghostbuster and ghosts can come out during the day, too. See, I learned something new about Sweetie today.

My last post was interrupted. I had to chop vegetables for the chicken I was fixing for dinner. Then I chopped vegetables for the refried beans Sweetie decided to cook for tomorrow. The beans aren’t actually fried. We cook the beans, onions, peppers, and spices in the microwave until the beans can be mashed. Sweetie wasn’t paying attention to them though and they bubbled over. The beans take 20 to 30 minutes and you have to add water as they cook—every 5-7 minutes or so. Sweetie always wants to add all the water at the beginning, which is why it bubbled over. He’ll clean it up. He has to clean out the microwave for me all the time now. We got a new microwave and I can’t reach into it very far. I’ve tried standing on the step stool, but I still
can’t reach.

Hi Linda, yes I do think Igor goes a little over board, but it's once a year. I love Halloween as well, I started watching all my Halloween specials and scary movies. For dinner tonight I'm going to have pizza and chicken wings. Francois has set up the outdoor pizza ovens. I'll have mine with a coca cola. We had a really gorgeous day here in the real world. A perfect summer day to end the season. Low temps and no humidity. I got in a swim, and went to the museum.

Good morning, Zzyyggy. I didn’t make it in last night. 😢 Fortunately, I love cold or even reheated pizza and Francois saved some for me. Mm, mm, coffee with cream and sugar to go with my veggie supreme pizza with extra, extra cheese, please! Glad you had a perfect day. It was humid here. Things are still drying out from the 4.25 inches of rain from the unnamed tropical cyclone. Oh, sweet, Viktor just delivered a basket of mini pastries to my table. Dessert for breakfast!

Actually, Sweetie woke up at 4:00 am this morning. He’s not an exceptionally quiet person, so I got up, too. Now, two hours later, he’s decided to make more beans with chopped onions and peppers. Coffee, I need more coffee.

Huh, I’m back an hour later to post this. I think I’ll head out to the patio by the pool with my coffee. I’ll just take my basket of pastries with me. There’s a mini cinnamon bun in there. 😋

Hi Linda, May I join you by the pool. I could go for a swim. We had a really nice day here in the real world. 75 degrees but high humidity. Got in a walk in the late afternoon, and got the rest of my goals done. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the surf and turf with a baked potato, coleslaw and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some monster chocolate chip cookies, and an iced mocha. We can sit here and watch the sun set, and maybe have S'mores later?

Hi, Zzyyggy. I ordered the fried seafood platter with coleslaw, grilled vegetables, and hush puppies. I stayed here by the pool (or in the pool) all day because it went up to 85 degrees at home today and the humidity was horrible. Here’s Viktor with my iced tea. I think I could be persuaded to have a s’mores later on.

It’s a beautiful Saturday evening at the cybercafe. I’m sitting on the side of the pool getting my feet wet. I wonder where you are Zzyyggy. Hope to hear from you tomorrow. Sweetie and I went to a neighborhood picnic earlier in the evening. The food wasn’t as good as the food at the cybercafe, but we enjoyed talking to some of our neighbors. I was surprised that more people didn’t show up.

Anyway, I thought I’d come relax at the cybercafe for a while. Viktor promised he would be right out with the coffee and biscotti I ordered. I’ll wander over to the comfy seating area and read my book and enjoy my evening snack.

Hi Linda, went to bed last night forgetting about coming in here and didn't realize it until almost 10:30 by which time I was almost asleep. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the roast turkey platter with stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, squash and a coca cola. Dinner rolls as well. For dessert I'll have a slice of apple pie and an iced mocha. I know it's a little early for Thanksgiving, but I've been craving turkey. We had another perfect summer day here in the real world, and I got in a walk and the rest of my goals done.

Zzyyggy, the turkey dinner was an excellent choice this evening. It was delicious. Apple pie with vanilla ice cream and a cup of coffee sounds good for dessert. I like when Francois makes the mini pies and I can have apple and pumpkin and pecan pies for dessert. Sweetie says he’ll have some dessert, too. He was out mowing the lawn and just finished getting cleaned up. I think I’ll spend the rest of the evening in the Club Room relaxing in my recliner with a cat on my lap, a dog by my feet, and a book to read. You coming? Sweetie will be there asleep in his chair once he finishes his dessert.

Thanksgiving isn’t too far away, but it sure felt that way today. It was hot, about 90 degrees, and humid. It’s supposed to cool off and that cooler air will bring thunderstorms and rain for the rest of the week in Charlotte. At least that’s what the meteorologists say. Around here, you never know which way the wind will blow.

Hey, Zzyyggy. Francois makes delicious meatloaf. I made little meatloaf sandwiches with the dinner rolls. Sooooo good. I want apple strudel with caramel swirl vanilla ice cream topped with caramel sauce. I bet it would be even better served in a puddle of Godiva Chocolate Liqueur. Let’s not forget the dollop (or two, maybe three) of whipped cream.

It looks like the National Hurricane Center may finally get to name a storm Helene. I guess we really will be getting rain later this week. It was so cloudy and humid today it felt like it just rained all day, even though we didn’t actually get rain. Fortunately, we have the cybercafe. I’ve been able to sit out in the sun by the cyberpool most of the day and got in a virtual swim—not at all like your actual swim.

Have you been in the dining room today? The aquarium has definitely gotten larger and it seems to be expanding across the entire western wall of the room. I’m sure there’s no reason to worry. I have no idea how Igor got the miniature Halloween castle and cemetery in the aquarium. The cats, Useless and Sochi, have been fixated on it all afternoon.

Hi Linda, wow it is getting big. Igor probable tossed them in. The carp look bigger too. We had a perfect fall day today. It wasn't too hot or too cold, and there was alot of sunshine. Got in a walk this afternoon, and over drew on my account oops. Had to shuffle some funds around at the bank. Thank goodness it's on the way. Temp is 70 degrees. For dinner tonight I'm going to have a big bowl of beef stew with lots of dinner rolls and butter. A coca cola with that please. For dessert I'll have a slice of Devil's food cake with an iced mocha. I think I'll eat in the dining room as well. The aquarium is mezmerizing.

Hi, Zzyyggy. The only good thing about the weather today was that it was cloudy. It was in the mid 80’s with a dew point of 74 degrees and the humidity was 84%. 84%! Yucky weather. All the neighbors are trying to get their lawns mowed because the forecast says we’re in for some wet weather. It was another exciting day today. I got another load of laundry done. Your day was a bit more exciting than mine. 😳

I was wondering if Francois would make German chocolate brownies with vanilla icing for me and he said yes. For dessert tonight I’m having brownies and an iced mocha. Sweetie ordered the same dessert I ordered last night—the apple strudel with caramel swirl vanilla ice cream topped with caramel sauce. He already finished his dessert and decided to go to bed. Of course, he’s turned on the TV and put earbuds in. I’m not a fan of televisions in the bedroom. I know he’ll fall asleep and I’ll have to find the TV remote and the earbuds later. It’s only 8:00 pm, which is very early for him.

We’ve got a great table for viewing the aquarium, Zzyyggy. I think the cats are just as mezmerized by the aquarium as we are.

Hi Linda, yup, it's like watching a cat video on line. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have the same brownies with an iced mocha. We had a very rainy, cloudy, dark and dreary day here in the real world. I haven't done much of anything but read and watched tv. We do need the rain though.

Hi, Zzyyggy. Those brownies are delicious. I’m so glad Viktor had the forethought to bring us a whole tray of them and a pitcher of iced mochas, too. Sweetie will definitely eat his share, although I doubt he’ll stay to watch the aquarium. He’s busy replacing the gasket on the toilet in our powder room. He talked about redoing the whole bath, but we need a functioning powder room now.

I was checking up on our weather forecast to see when we’ll be getting rain from the hurricane’s outer bands—we already have lots of clouds and humidity. The weather alerts aren’t too helpful. We have a 36 hour window for potential impacts from a tropical storm. Vague at best. Hurricane Helene is now a Category 4 hurricane, 😬. This is one huge, scary storm. I pray everyone has gotten out of harm’s way. For the Charlotte area it looks like most of the heavy weather will be in the mountains to the west of us. We need to check on Sweetie’s cousins who live in Fort Myers and Naples Florida and make sure they’re all prepared for the storm.

Good morning to the Cybercafe! Checked out my weather forecast and Helene is not a category 4 hurricane, just a category 2, as of now. It would be nice if the storm wouldn’t get any stronger. Viktor told me that’s not something I can order at the cybercafe, so I ordered coffee and a cinnamon bun. Since it’s raining at home, I figured I would spend the day at the cybercafe.

I have discovered that no matter where I sit in the dining room I have a perfect view of the aquarium. Although Viktor was not too happy when I tested this out this morning. My favorite spot is the comfy sitting area around the fireplace, because there are recliners and couches. There are a couple of tables, too, and, of course, the view of the aquarium.

Hi Linda, are you going to be affected by the Hurricane? We had a very rainy day today, but the sun is coming out now. I got in a good swim earlier and walked home after that because it had stopped raining. It was cold out there as well. Got the rest of my goals done as well. For dinner tonight I'm going to go for the fried chicken platter, with mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, biscuits and a coca cola. Hi, Zzyyggy. We’ve been getting rain from the outer bands all day. We already have had 1.80 inches of rain at 7:30 pm. There’s a potential for tornados and high winds, but it’s the mountains that will have severe impacts from the storm. (We’re in the western piedmont, which is in the western part of the state, but definitely not in the Appalachian Mountains.) It’s supposed to continue to rain overnight with thunderstorms and more rain until midafternoon Friday. They keep saying we’ll get 1 to 3 inches of rain, but considering we already have close to 2 inches, I’m thinking we’ll get about 4 inches of rain total. The forecast says the high winds for Monroe will be from 15 to 30 mph starting around 3:00 am Friday.

I didn’t get anything done today. I need to make a daily list like yours. Hmm, I did clean the kitchen. Then again, I’m fairly neurotic about cleaning the kitchen. Sweetie does not understand why I can’t go to bed if there are dishes in the sink. He also thinks that making the bed every morning is unnecessary, but I do it anyway. I’ve been making my bed every day, unless I was incapacitated, since I was four years old. That’s what happens when you have a father who was in the Army and the Navy and a mother who’s somewhat OCD. There are certain habits that are so ingrained that they become automatic. Poor Sweetie has learned to put up with a clean kitchen and a neat bed after 50 years of marriage to me. 🤦‍♀️

You a certainly welcome to join us. Sweetie and I are sitting here and relaxing for a while and having dessert—coffee and a big and crunchy chocolate chip cookie.

Hi Linda, we had a perfect fall day today. Not too hot or cold, and plenty of sunshine with some clouds. Got in a swim and a walk. Even had a creamy. Got the rest of my goals done as well. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the fried scallops with french fries and coleslaw. Lots of tarter sauce, and dinner rolls with that. For dessert I'll have some klondike bars. I also make my bed every morning. I stopped when I was in college away from home for the first time, but then started again when I had a cat that would sleep on my sheets when I wasn't there, and then I'd have to sleep in a bed full of cat hair. I don't have a cat anymore but I still make my bed. Hopefully you won't get too much more rain. You can always bunker down at the cafe.

Zzyyggy, we were fortunate to have very little storm damage other than leaves, twigs, and tree branches down from the high winds. We did have 4.66 inches of rain, in fact, it rained so hard it scoured the hedgerow around the stream in our backyard and took all the accumulated leaves and undergrowth downstream. I’d like to clear out the hedgerow, but we’re supposed to leave the area undisturbed. So when all that debris clogs up some drain downstream and floods someone’s property will they decide we should do things differently? That was one big, bad storm and we’ll see what the damage is in the days ahead. I can’t even begin to imagine.

True about cats. Our cats trained our son to make his bed. Nothing like finding a mouse in your bed. Worse, sometimes the mouse wasn’t quite dead yet. But, hey, isn’t that how cats say they love you? Little Miss used to bring them up on the bed in the middle of the night. Very exciting to wake up to a cat chasing a mouse on the bed. 😵‍💫

I think I’ll have a nice cup of tea and some molasses ginger cookies. Then I’m off to bed. It’s getting late.
