thanks for all the answers about eating veggies.
hmmm was slow to go this morning so went to café as is often the case.
I don't know if you remember:
my scooter was disappeared, reported stolen then reappeared 2 months later, just when I was about to send in the documentation for payement, with little or no damage. it was toed to the garage nearby just for safety's sake The expert was coming to check it and estimate it. but it was taking forever. Then the garage called to tell me it had been stolen from in front of their place!
They said it was my responsibility, to be covered by my insurance...they kept going round and round saying that. I was very doubtful and angry. they tried to give me the run around, and even to get me to act in their favour. I then got off the phone and googled it: it's one hundred percent their fault, and their responsibility to reimburse me. I shouldn't have to lift a finger. they were saying I have to go to the police to report it. but I think that was a step in them trying to get me to take responsibility: calling me a Friday evening. I didn't listen to their call cause I figured non urgent. they called back late afternoon...Saturday...
I felt upset. threw a bit of a wrench in my afternoon but okay...

Lisa — My glasses are like yours. I also have progressive lenses that self-darken in bright light. They are wonderful. 😎1

Alexandra, oh wowsa quite a surgery! Feel better soon! I had a parathyroid taken out in 2018, normally those thingies are the size of a grain of rice on your thyroid. Mine was the size of the surgeons thumb! I empathize with ya! I asked the doc if I was getting be plaque or something for the biggest parathyroid he's removed!😂😋👍

Tracey - Love the crooked house! Did you do the painting of your grandparent's house?
Heather - Hope the time with your guests is just wonderful.
Alexandra - I didn't even know that was possible! So glad you had it removed. Hope your recovery is swift and pain-free.
Regarding mushrooms: I love mushrooms and tend to buy a large box of Baby Bellas each week. Sliced up and sauteed in a little butter and wine, then reduced to the point where they nearly dry out is insanely good. I use them on burgers, in casseroles, and sometimes just eat them out of hand. I do not like them raw, but love them cooked.
Corey has to go to work this morning, so he's rattling around. Neither of us likes it when he works Saturdays, but sometimes it's necessary. He's usually done by noon and needed to get a haircut anyway.
Thank goodness he's finally decided to go to professionals instead of me trimming his hair. His decision may have been based on the fact that, when I cut his hair, he looks like possums have been chewing on his head. 🐭😊
I'll spend the time he's gone getting the rest of the automatic payments pushed from one credit to another. I used the one because we seldom spend anything else on that card, so it was easy to see all the payments in one place. However, they've been sold off to another company, so our account number is changing.
Speaking of changes, I'm finally getting used to my new pair of glasses. I got the progressive lenses, and they did say it would take a week or two for me to get comfortable with them. Also got the photochromic lenses, the ones that turn dark in sunlight. Means I don't have to drag sunglasses with me.
Still trying to clean up my passwords - got rid of 100 of them on Monday, and hope to get rid of 100 today - that means going to each site and unsubscribing or deleting my account, then back to my stored passwords and deleting the old ones.
On my second cup of tea (decaf) and thinking about a third. When I'm done with y'all, I have to get the sleeve on a coat of Corey's repaired with a needle and thread.
NSV - made it to 6,000 steps yesterday! Slowly getting better...
Love y'all,

I have had the progressive lenses for quite a few years. Love the darkening lenses but they are not dark enough. The ones I hadbefore, the magnetic sun glasses that clipped right on(same shape as the actual lenses). This time I got the prescription sun glasses and a pair of regular-they do change but not enough. My eyes are very sensitive to the sun light so I got bigger frames to block more light.
I saute mushrooms all the time in butter and garlic- forgot about adding the wine. Hopefully I will remember next time.1 -
Back in the saddle on losing weight and getting strength back after a broken back early last year and then a car accident that added to it with more subsequent injury. During all that drama and then some, I gained 6 pounds back and definitely have become deconditioned. However, I am now at a point where I can very carefully add exercise back to my daily routine. I started off at 196 in October 2020 and was down to 179 by May 2021 which I so happy about! That's the first time in over 20 years I've lost any weight at all!! With the disruption last year, I am back up to 185, but thankful I can restart and focus on getting back down to the 170s; then 160s; then 150s; then 140s; then 130s. I am so glad the weather is warming back up too! and today I'm just trying to get homework done and aiming to go walk the beach before the end of the day!10

Little Teapot,
Welcome! You've been through a lot. I think it's amazing you regained only 6 lbs.

Still feeling tons better. I'm really feeling impatient because I can't lift full laundry baskets or run the vacuum cleaner yet, and I have looked round my house and seen dirt in the corners and WANT so much to just get right after it now that I can breathe properly. But I am trying to be sensible about this. I just have sat on my butt so much with pain and fatigue in the course of my life that any time I have energy I want to be Doing Things!
I will see how I feel tomorrow and maybe try wiping the kitchen down and see how that feels on the incision. If it doesn't bother it, then I'll clear myself for house dusting, if not vac/sweeping/mopping.6 -
Weather is perfect- went out and finished pruning the raspberries and roses, transplanted a couple small hydrangeas (their wine barrel planter fell apart and should have been replaced last year, finally did it).
I need to dig up some of the raspberries that are coming up where I don't want them- will transplant them to mom's house

Debbie- I also have the progressive lenses that arent dark enough so had to buy sunglasses that go over my glasses.
Thank you for the thoughts about my uncle.. love him to pieces he is my dads only brother, and my mom only had one brother.. so he is the last of that generation ..
We had so many wonderful times together and i will cherish the memories2 -
Got a flat right near the end and felt kinda flat throughout the ride.
The glasses I'm wearing here are progressive lenses with "auto tint" or whatever it's called. They go dark in the sunshine and go clear inside.
I've had glasses like that for years but this time, I went with larger lenses. I really like them for driving, walking, cycling, etc.
Inside, I wear my desk glasses - close progressives which allow me to see things clearly at a closer distance while working at my computer.

Machka - My glasses are progressive & also self darkening in daylight or bright light. I think they’re wonderful. 😎 It sounds like you’re happy with yours, too. 😊2

My one word theme for 2022 is "continue". I have built many good habits over the years and this year I want to focus on continuing them.

"Stress is toxic to your body and mind. If it’s not addressed right away, it may lead to more serious problems affecting you physically and psychologically. Stress has two main causes; internal and external. Internal causes may include struggling with yourself, thinking about something too much or thinking negatively, while external causes might include stress from your surrounding environment, workplace issues and negative people surrounding you."

Morning all.
Barbie: Purrrrr …..
@badmcfad Miele failte 😄
Pip: Doctor? I suggest sooner rather than later.
Debbie: Getting back into the garden is so therapeutic. Enjoy! 👓 I’ve worn progressive reactives for years. Most useful.
Machka: 👍🏻 Great article. I use all twenty strategies, and then some! 😂 I would recommend ‘Awakening the Giant Within’ (Anthony Robbins) My copy is well thumbed. Recognising and dealing with stress is so important

Machka you accomplish more on a low energy day than I do in a normal energy week!
Allie that video sounds like a lovely and heartfelt gift to your uncle.
Julie SMH about that repair place trying to dodge their responsibility. Never give an inch!
Barbie “. . .want to be a cat” hahahahaha.
Debbie about sauteeing mushrooms with wine, here, sometimes, the wine actually makes it into the pan!
Welcome @LittleTeapot3 and @badmcfad !Would you let us know what you’d like to be called and your general locale?
Lisa belated best wishes for a happy National Veterans Girls Rise day to you and all you gals who stepped up. Thank you for your service. (Thought I posted this from my phone, but pffft)
NSV At dog group was reminded how when I first started, I had to cut the pack walk short by half as was too out of breath to continue. Somehow gradually it’s improved and I can now walk the whole thing. I’m slow and usually trailing along behind, but not stopping. So Sue is right. Believe in your capacity to change.
Lighter, lovelies!

Morning, afternoon and evening, y'all,
Barbara AHMOD- Thank you for telling me about that national day to honor women veterans. In all honesty, I've never seen it before. Congrats on the NSV! Fitness can kind of sneak up on you...
Heather - Hope the ankle is getting better by the minute.
Welcome to those who are new, we're glad you're here!
Allie - glad news on the medical front has been better, and that you liked the possum metaphor.
All my favorite domestic sounds are swooshing, clanking, or gurgling as the case may be. Pulled all removables from the stovetop and put them in the dishwasher, then sprayed the entire stovetop with degreaser and left it sit. Last night was BLTs (well, BL for me, I wouldn't eat a tomato on a bet). No matter what you do, cooking bacon will cover everything with a film of grease.
Time to swap Corey's work clothes from the washer to the dryer and decide whether or not I want to go to Walmart. There are a few things I want, but honestly, nothing that I can't live without today. Cardiologist tomorrow morning, and x-rays once I'm done with him, then blood work. If I'm not too worn out from all that, I can stop at Wally-world on the way back. I think I shall do just that. Save gas, save the environment, save my energy.
Hope everyone has or had a peaceful Sunday.
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR3
