Didnโt totally understand what โshutting down the networkโ meant. I just meant that I canโt access my Word documents, etc. But I can get here.
Having some eggs for breakfast right now. Eggs usually keep me really full. I know that the last 2 times we got to Hardeville to get gas, I was too full to eat lunch. Vince was hungry, he only has cereal for breakfast.
M โ if you have an IP, applesauce is great. It just isnโt worth it financially unless you get free apples.
I think we are probably the only house in American that WASNโT watching the Super Bowl. I have absolutely no interest (other than seeing those guys in the tight pants running), and lately Vince has no interest, ever since the kneeling stuff started.
Katie โ thank you for telling me that the โyesโ is probably not a big deal. No, I didnโt give them any financial info or personal info. Weโll just keep an eye open. I donโt have any financial info on my phone (other than the info about how much is in my โlandscapeโ fund). Now Vince does. He normally doesnโt access bank accounts etc from his phone but his laptop. You are such a good daughter! Being there for your mom.
When we first moved here, we had wild raspberries growing at the end of our road. They are cut down now, but I remember when they were growing someone in the neighborhood used to come and pick them. We had an apple tree in our third house and the deer used to come and eat the apples, too.
Barbara โ banks know about this โyesโ hack so I would think that their protocol would be to ask another personal question, not just take a โyesโ answer when asking if someone can access an account. I would think a bank would be smarter than that. Or at least I would hope so
Barbara and M โ thanks for the links. Iโll have to check them out when we get to FL since I really donโt have time right now.
Loki has been having diarrhea. Ever since Clyde passed, he seems to be lost. They were the best of friends. Yes, many times Loki viewed Clyde as โthat annoying little brotherโ, but they would also many times lay next to each other and groom each other. I believe this diarrhea and lack of wanting to eat is a broken heart. Vince is concerned but thatโs what I believe. Hopefully, heโll get over this.

Happy Valentine's Day to All

I picked out my own presents for DH to give me for V day. One was out of stock, so I ordered the other for him.
Then the first one arrived, so I got both!
An expensive day for DH.
Beautiful blue sky, so I suggested we went for a walk TOGETHER. At first he said no, then it dawned on him that this was meant to be a romantic suggestion. It was lovely on the seafront, with the waves pounding on the shingle.
Had our blinis with faux caviar for lunch. Tonight is skate. Yummo! We will share half a bottle of champagne. Got to keep my calories to 1500.
Sorting out what I am going to send to the newspaper. I resurrected and edited an old article about how I told my adult children, so might send that instead of the original. I will have another look this afternoon to see if I can adapt the one I first sent her.

Our daffodils are nearly out!
A selfie. For some reason I had it on a 5 second timer, so DH looks a little confused!!!!
I failed to catch a decent photo of the waves breaking, but this is our view.

Over here after dropping Carmine off and Travy got a call from her husbands cousin that she was going to be working from home for after maternity leave, well she took a job with a title company so that means Tracy has to either go back full time to the vet and pay for day care,or go to part time which they cant afford. To say she is upset is an understatement.. i told her to take a deep breath and all will work out.. she is worried about her husband flipping out.. this weekend wasnt great..
Im going to keep the whole family in my prayers...if you could keep them in your thoughts id appreciate it8 -
Happy Valentine's Day :flowerforyou:

Allie - how long until Tracy is off of her maternity leave? Hopefully she has a few weeks to figure this all out.

Rori--Your new job sounds exciting and fun. Being able to choose is great.
Beth--Sorry to hear about your mom's fall. I pray for fast healing and no problems. It is hard getting older. Remember to take time for yourself and breathe.
Katiebug--Also sorry to hear about your dad. Hospice is great for helping out and I pray it goes well. Do take some time for you and what you need to do for you.
Rebecca--Love the Althea pictures. She is growing up so fast and so pretty.
Michele--I would send the announcements as you and she are proud of what she has done. She has worked hard to get this far. Let the world know! I hope the change of place for awhile will help Loki adjust to Cylde's being gone.
Betsy--Congradulations on the up coming new DGGC. What a Blessing.
I met my DH when I was drinking a lot and he started showing up at the bars and asked me to go different places with him. We were both dealing with past relentionships and it took several years before we got it all worked out and got married. It will be 38 years in Nov and he is my best friend.
Barbie--Thanks for the reminder of the nine things to give up to be happy.
Allie--Good Luck to your daughter about the work-day care issue. It's not easy when we can't step in and make everything better for them.
It was a nice weekend and I did get some down time. It's a new week and new start. I only got to the gym 1 day last week, so going to try harder this week.
Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND ,NE

I organized husbands pills, and called a prescription in. That's pretty romantic, right?
So many years ago when we left California, a friend there bought us a treat tower from Harry & David's, an online store. So the boxes are great, and out of the stack I still have one left. Fabric covered with a fax paper that looks like bamboo on half of it. Anyway, we have been using it to hold clippers, and tweezers etc, in the bathroom. I acquired the larger one from son when he was getting rid of stuff (he got it when I sent a Christmas gift in it) so I thought, oh those would looked nice stacked for some of my arts stuff. I take out the stuff and put the items in a wooden round container we used a looong time ago for the same exact stuff and do you know what??? Yep you are exactly right. Husband got the box from my desk and the round wooden one is there. I swear he's a child. Lol!
Today I will make a soup again, but will use some kielbasa sausage I have. Instead of potatoes I will put in my wild rice. I have those Champs mushrooms still though, and onions. The mushrooms are so sweet that when I am cooking them in a bit of butter, I can't help to fork some of them. I do have a sweet potato, maybe I will cube that up and roast it.
Eldest son called last night. It was about 12 noon there, and he was walking to find a barbershop. He's such a great kid.๐. His sponsor was really helpful, picking him up promptly at the airport and taking him around places. His hotel is a big resort, his balcony overlooking it, their pool in the distance.
Then when he had found it he said he'd connect later when he got lunch.
Then middle son connected on Messenger, senting photos of his terrarium he made. They have a little nature area in their living with that container sits on a stand, and their hydroponics planter up above, growing tomato plants, peppers and some other herbs. He's such a great dad, and its nice to see his creative spirit is alive and well these days. I don't know if he really creates all these things for Athena, he just likes to make stuff!
Eldest son sent me a photo of his burger on Messenger, the nut.๐๐ He has also sent me a photo of his Japanese heated toilet. We finally said our good nights and I love yous. I told him I was going to take a bath is his newly cleaned white tub!๐
Last night husband confessed that he missed the eldest son. We are all still acclimating.๐๐
Have a nice day ladies!

Happy Valentines Day to all,
Michele.... I have 9 grandchildren and this will be my first great grandchild. Wow, really so special.
Dr. Katie... wonderful you got a good sleep and a nap. Sounds like your body welcomed the rest. It's takes so much energy caregiving.
Almost done with taxes. I'm waiting now on one K1 partnership form and then I can wrap things up.
Off to a Valentine concert at the Senior Center. Two gals I know play ukulele and their group is giving a concert for Valentines Day.

Guys came out and got the waterline to our rental cabin fixed. Yay! I got paperwork done for Claiming the residue of my mom's IRA. Not looking forward to standing in line at the post office to get it sent certified mail. The last 2 times I have been to the post office I have had to wait in line for about 30 minutes because they are short staffed.

Car challenge caused by a glass bit on the roof that can be opened to let air in. We had a leak because of that bit. The replacement part has been ordered from Germany today. We are in the process of figuring out how to keep everything dry until the part gets here. We have a garage but it is full and it is doubtful the car will fit.
Grumbling about how to manage everything. I suspect a good tarp is our best safeguard until the part gets in. The engine and drivability are both awesome.

Finished my 250 calories of exercise. It took longer because I slept late then after lunch I had to go to the grocery store for my parents. They have been out of bread flour for a month without telling me, but today they ran out of the breadmaker bread and couldn't make more. So the other three types of bread we have would not suffice until tomorrow, so I did the groceries today and got flour. Have they made the bread? Of course not. So I finished up my exercise after dinner, for the Win! Yay!
My mom promised she would get her blood work done tomorrow. She probably won't remember, but she might do it if gently persuaded. I'm hopeful.
