Today is the day to see the puppies. The breeder is out running errands and will call us when she is ready. YAY! We’re having a slow start and this a blessing. DH will get a well needed rest. I feel blessed with a little extra time to get ready. ❤️🐩❤️
We lost our sweet old dog to cancer last fall. We’ve always had a dog and we’re hoping this will be a blessing.6 -

Latest LATEST UPDATE: well, it sucks being in a hostile, 1-2 days is funn but longer than that is not good. I was having shortness of breath. They did an ultrasound and a CT scan. Found that I had some fluid in my lungs and ultrasound showed that I had a small blood clot in my upper right leg. I finally got to see my scar, it’s a biggie, 6-1/2 to 7inches. I’m doing a lot better on that breathing thing. They have me on a blood thinner IV, I need one more good result and they will change the schedule to every 12 hours. If you get grossed out, sorry, if not, not sorry. They say I may get to go home tomorrow. The goal is to walk 3 times today and sit up. I’m on track…. But u knew I would be. Thanks for your well wishes, feeling the ❤️ love20 -

Sending love and thoughts to everyone needing them today. I've tried to read through everything, but my brain is quite tired today from just a lot of things and too much to go into. Nothing as extraordinary as what some of you are going through. Just normal "stuff".

We are tough cookies when it comes to your pics, no worries! Memories of your wonky shoulder blade, your skinned up knees, you are the toughest cookie I know! Hugs to you on your recovery. By the way your scar for this procedure looks really healthy. See, even your wounds look healthy, you're so healthy.💖👍

No puppy visit today. I hope to contact the breeder and apologize for my absence. DH had a health problem last night & today. I couldn’t leave him. I hope she forgives the problem.

Meanwhile I stressed my upper back. I did some hefty pulling & lifting yesterday and part of today. I hope to avoid more. I just put lotion on my knee. It is a bit oily but doing an excellent job with my grumpy knee. 🙈🙉🙊4

Hugs Katla, I hope hubby is better, as well as you. You can always reschedule your puppy visit. Your health and hubby's care comes first.💖👍🙏

Lisa - these cups are incredibly easy. All I really do is design and colour.
Carla - I was thinking the other night wouldn’t it be nice for the world to shut off for a bit. I think I need to go camping this summer.
Katla - I’m sorry you didn’t get the visit in today, hope DH feels better soon.
Pip - you’re looking well. Hope to see a pic of you at home tomorrow. I find that being home helps the healing process.
I had a fun day with Michaela, she is 6 going on 30 I swear.
She had made plans yesterday to paint today, knowing this is one of her favourite activities I bought a couple Easter decorations for her to work on. She is learning patience and knows she does a better job when she takes time and doesn’t run to the finish line. Today, I told her that she is doing a great job for a little girl. She told me she is not a little girl, she is an artist.
Shortly before she started painting, I had told her that we had to get laundry started before we could paint and I wanted to finish my coffee first.
She used this opportunity to play salon. She “did” my hair and gave me her princess crown to top it off.
She then asked if we could do laundry now. I told her I didn’t think princesses had to do laundry, she removed the crown from my head and said “there you not a princess anymore”. Let’s do laundry.
She also helped dust and sweep. Or as she calls it “Broomed”

Pip – wow what a scar! Hope you get to go home tomorrow
Went in the pool, walked to Beall's but didn't get anything. I must say, I'm getting spoiled by thrift store prices. took a walk around the parkinglot tonight and my neighbor was measuring something in the tennis court. Lately, it's been used for pickleball. Come to find out that they're considering having two pickleball courts and she was measuring to be sure there was enough room.

I'm thinking of all of you who are struggling with health/work/family issues, and holding in my heart those who have had losses and sad anniversaries.
I've had a few issues of my own but right now I'm delighted to be back where I belong, if only temporarily. Husband was to give a lecture in Longyearbyen and I went along for the ride. This is the week when they celebrate the return of the sun (the official date isn't actually until tomorrow). It's a glorious time of year - provided the skies are clear.
The day we arrived they were NOT clear. Our plane had to circle for an hour waiting for the clouds to dissipate enough for us to land. Luckily, there was a brief opening and the pilot immediately slammed the plane to the runway. Otherwise we would have had to fly back to the mainland and try again the next day.
But yesterday the skies were clear. We went for a pleasant walk up the mountainside east of town and I captured these pics.
First, looking north across Adventfjorden to Hjortfjellet and Adventtoppen, two of the mountain profiles that everyone who has lived in Longyearbyen has engraved on their hearts.
Next, looking west down over the center of town. The slats in the foreground are part of the snow fence erected after the avalanche in 2015, when two people were killed. The rock wall below it is a snow barrier that was completed last summer. I haven't seen it before.
Last, a view to the northwest, with the house we lived in for ten years right in the center. The day I took these pictures was the first time in nearly a year that I saw the view all the way across Isfjorden, to the mountains on the other side, 50 miles away. That sight hit me right in the solar plexus. I wasn't aware how much I've missed it.
That's enough pictures for now. I'll be back with more later on.
/Penny, inordinately happy to be back at the
