Barbara, Southern Oregon, Kroger’s link. It's part of a lawsuit, but gave me pause.

Katia-I understand your position. My husband was very stubborn about such things. If he was completely “out of it” I could call help-otherwise he would refuse help. Unfortunately for all, adults have that right unless they are obviously incapacitated in some way. When I called squad for his last trip, he was obviously in an altered mental state, so they did take him. Tough situation for us to be in.

Lisa-so good to hear things are better for daughter. The walk around the property sounds like a wonderful memory to keep!

We haven’t had house calls here in years and years (when I was very young). I found the reference to the fire med service very interesting. We don’t have anything like that around here you can subscribe to. I think they will come to provide assistance, but you would be billed.

Made it through yesterday’s snow bursts and cold temperatures. Did not go out walking but did get active time in the house. Actually started some more packing up stuff for Goodwill. Hope to get a couple of more boxes done so I can drop them off this pm.

Friend contacted me about going out or lunch or dinner today (he is also supposed to help friend move something). We have gone out on occasion. While I enjoy talking to him, not interested in anything more.

For the record, I hate time change days (actually the first several days). I really just wish we would stop this nonsense!)

    Take care all,

    Ginny in Ohio

I was so absorbed by the slow progress of the Spirit of Discovery that I totally forgot that Sunday is weigh day! Oops! I will weigh myself first thing tomorrow morning.
SOD is still not in berth, and it looks like it won't be until later this afternoon. Logistical nightmare.

Bea is off on her birthday treat to Monkey Bizness. She said she would wear the T shirt we gave her. <3 We are meeting them at Fatto's tomorrow tea time, her actual birthday.

I have had to reinstate the booking for the fish restaurant next Thursday. G's knee is much better. ;) The restaurant must think I'm crazy. I like it there because it is a proper, very old-fashioned, linen, napkins, silver, place. Good spacings between tables. And NO MUSIC. Heaven!

Machka - My idea of a break is a nice hotel, gorgeous architecture, galleries and museums, and attractive restaurants. 😍 Plus I don't go any distance in our car any more. DH does not like trains much. Or aeroplanes. I'm sure we can think of something. I'm looking forward to Iceland right now.

Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

    :)

That makes for an interesting question ...

What is your idea of a break or great holiday?

    Mine would be this:
    - quiet cabin in rural or semi-rural location
    - comfy beds, fireplace, porch with chairs for sitting outside and relaxing
    - great roads for cycling - sealed, quiet, relatively flat
    - a good hike or two nearby
    - a stack of books and my cameras
    - a nearby town with a good restaurant/pub or two (for meals, not for alcohol)
    - a nearby tourist attraction or two for rest days or those days with less-than-ideal weather ... maybe a cruise around a lake, a trip on an old train, a wildlife park, a museum or gallery, or a collection of interesting shops.

There is a place we go in Tasmania that's pretty close to what I've described. I find I really relax there. I can breathe ... and I have the best night's sleeps!

They're a bit pricey or I'd spend a lot more time there!

We were up and down last night, and DH is finally sleeping. I hope he rests well. It is raining and the sound of it makes it feel cozy to be inside together. ⭐️

Bonus: veg prep, 45 mins grooming Tumble, changed clocks. Just one thing: bupkes

    Mindful March
13: Pause to watch the sky or clouds for a few minutes today.
14: Find ways to enjoy any chores or tasks that you do. How war refugees would love to “have” to clean house or wash clothes.

Checking back in. Low activity day Saturday, recovering from Friday’s shopping marathon and long drives.

    Unfunny knee issue: sudden, sharp, debilitating pain after a click/slide sensation. Started Thursday when my knee twisted inward while in bed. Persists when trying to put any weight on that leg while flexed, or when trying to unflex. If I can wriggle it just right, it click/slides back into place and pain stops completely. Took aspirin, rubbed in Voltaren, wore knee brace all day Friday with no pain. Returned Saturday when unbraced. Ice, hot tub, aspirin. Texted chiro who wll see me after Monday’s annual. She suggested I ask MD to order X-rays of knee. Will do. Do NOT need anything to discourage me from walking, dancing or BB&B ;}
Thanks, Julie. They even offer emergency Venous Echo Doppler ultrasounds. Amazing! :astonished: Feeling envious, covetous.
    Katla ((hugs)) and prayers.
Heather thanks for the Android/photos/mfp correction, glad to hear it!
Lisa Happy to hear your DD’s command recognizes and utilizes her skills. the “stick, stick, stick!” story.
Ginny, Thanks very much, it gives me pause too. Most of the products are prepared, but wow, lead in spinach salad and canned peaches? Thanks also very much for sharing your sad and difficult experience with Katla. ((hugs)) In Oregon, where Katla and I are, we have Cal-Ore Life Flight https://cal-ore.com/membership/ allied with AirMed. The low annual fee is $219/yr for a family. Our fire district provides for all our volunteers. When assistant chief had a terrible accident (his pit bull pulled him downslope into a tree, breaking ribs and puncturing his lung) he was transported from the accident side to the nearest hospital by ground ambulance, then from there flown to Portland, all at zero pocket. Without this membership the cost would have been over $90,000. Cheap insurance at the price.

All caught up, now time to get up off my duff!

    Later, Lighter, lovelies!

Katla - I hope that DH gets seen right away tomorrow.

Heather - it sounds like your first day would have been frustrating. I hope you find something to do as a couple locally.

What is your idea of a break or great holiday?
For a weekend break nothing brings me more peace and relaxation than having my family around, having time to do something creative and having some silence.
When I want a true break, I like to go to the mountains, much like Machka describes. We love touring the mountains. I prefer Jasper to Banff.
I also love anywhere that I can see the stars and get away from the noise of the city. I grew up in the country and miss the “silence”. A quick place I’ve been getting that is at my daughters house.

Lisa - I’m happy that your daughter is being recognized by her command. Does she have to move to a new base when the next challenge arises?

Barbara - hope that knew fixes soon.

Today is my friends birthday, I have invited her out to make a mug. She needs company more than she needs things.

DH needs to see his doctor. He wanted a phone visit and I think he should be there in person. We will try to get in this coming Monday. Keeping my fingers crossed for DH to go in. I don’t think a telephone visit is good enough. 🙏🏻

I just had a call from DH’s sister. She wants to be kept in the information loop.

Try to get him to see this situation from your perspective, not his. Can you also do FaceTime calls?

Having a quiet day. Doing some precooking and rereading a series I enjoyed the first time through. Boyfriend has a coding challenge to do before he talks to the people who want to hire him again. Girlfriend is figuring out what order to do her midterm coding project parts in, so undoubtedly they will be talking code later when she asks for his opinion. It's all Greek to me, personally. (grin)

I'm trying not to nap, but I'm also trying to listen hard to my body, and today may be a nap day.

Katla- we are not trying to be pushy by any means but genuinely care for both you and your hubby and want whats best for you both.. and yes men can be stubborn..
I got a call from Tom today seems our little old boy Homer has either a UTI or kidney infection.. he is peeing blood and of course that freaked Tom out he called the emergency vet and they said it would be a long wait and very expensive.. so he called me to get my opinion.. i had some keflex that i got and looked up and it can be given to dogs and they looked up the dosage ,so Tom came over and got that and is staying home from work tomorrow to get Homer into the vet.. he might not have been a great husband but he is a heck of a dog dad lol.

Rita - I also use and iPhone and haven’t been able to upload a picture for a couple of days now. I will put in a ticket on MFP too.

Katla - such a stressful time. Hugs to you.

Allie - poor old Homer sure is suffering a lot lately.

My friend still hasn’t contacted me. I’m frustrated. In the meantime I am working on another stocking. I finished the design work on one last night.
