Kim that is so awful. You are strong to have survived all that.
Thanks for all the info on knee braces. I got a new one online and it seems to be helping. But I am still going to see a doctor.
I got a packet to fill out for my mom's memory assessment. Very detailed. It is annoying because I know this info is already in their system. I'm not sure how to approach my mother with the packet. She is resistant to the appointment and to the idea of me as medical advisor. But she can't do these things herself anymore. I feel like I'm being sneaky.
Not much else on the schedule today. Just keeping out of the cookies and candy and trying to eat a salad. Maybe buy a lottery ticket.

THANKS DEBBIE!!!
OH NO.......... Kim, I am devastated for you and your family. My heart is beating out of my chest as I'm reading this.
I guess, in some twisted way, thank God for Tim. To be able to have gotten DB to sign the release so he was able to find this all out for you so NOW you can move on. MAJOR (((HUGS))) and love and prayers for you and everyone. Again, I agree with Heather to be careful of Tim too. He did help you thus far, but...
I'm just so glad you know this now and you're getting help and your nephew is getting help. I hope your mom is willing to get some help too.
Have a wonderful weekend all!

Hi Gals,
Beth, Flea, Lisa, Betsy, Katla, Terri. Karen, ginny, Allie. KJ, Annie, Carol, Carla and everyone else…. – thanks
Machka – no Mom is 93 and needs my help with medical and financial issues, and my DN is 23 and feels all of the awfulness of this as I do, abandoning him will not be of any value.
Heather – Mom will not bar him, I am not going the criminal route. There is no value in dragging this broken family through years of criminal proceedings.
As for Tim – there are no red flags as of yet. No requests for money, or personal information not related to DB, and he checks out I have had a criminal background check done and the only thing that shows up is some parking tickets when he was in his 20s and a marijuana charge also from 30 years ago. Additionally he has given me the link and password to DB medical records and I have read it for myself.
I am too hurt by the lies to believe without double checking.
Annie in Delaware - Please do not feel sneaky - I wish I had been more involved earlier with my families medical before this had gotten so out of hand. Be as truthful as you can, but as sneaky as you need to be to protect your mom.

Kim - I finally had a minute to read about Tim and his assistance with the situation. At this point I don't get a sense that he's up to no good - he has discovered valuable information and shared it with you in an effort to help the family with your brother's illness. Sounds like you did some background searching. If you're on FB and he is too, you can tell a bit more about what his friends are like if that info is shared.
Sending huge ((HUGS))!!
Oh, and sending a great big virtual cast iron skillet aimed squarely at your DB's head if you think that will help.

Kim, I’m so sorry to hear about you nephew. I knew someone like that but instead of cancer, he was hiding major drug use and using his girl friend. Karma took care of him as I’m sure it will your nephew.
I met a woman in the campground who is suffering from the same illness my son is. She was problematic but my heart went out for her because of my son’s recent bout with paranoia/schizophrenia. It brought back that helpless feeling. I am thankful my DS is getting help and is stable right now. I notice it in some of the things he says but no where near like it was in Jan through March.
“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.” This is my mantra right now.

Strange day. Next door had the fence guys in, to sort out the side passage. The fence, which blew down in a storm, had been blocking our path, so DH found it impossible get the mower through to the front yard. The repairs were VERY noisy. They were putting new posts in. ALL DAY.
All done now, and I managed to write 760 words through the racket. The neighbour, who is lovely, came round to check everything was alright after DH had gone round to complain yesterday, very nicely, about the blockage.
This afternoon DH found that a savings account had been moved to the wrong interest for next year despite his instructions. An hour on hold, then spoke to an idiot. He is currently emailing the CEO. It will help him process the frustration, even if it's useless.
I have made a third attempt to get a straight answer from Saga about the cancelled ports.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx3 -
We are waiting for a furniture delivery. We bought two Stressless loungers for our sitting area. The pair we originally purchased are more than twenty years old, and both needed to be replaced. The first new chair has been delivered and we are anticipating the second to be delivered today. Keeping my fingers crossed for a “speedy delivery.”6

Contacted the credit card company and they are issuing a new card..its a card i havent used in over a year or so and it was used for co.puter software.yup that wasnt me.so i also put a fraud alert on it so that should rectify that.3 -

Kim, no words (((((((((hugs)))))
Katla yay, for getting new lounge chairs!
Heather, good fences make good neighbors! I hate working with the bank on a phone. I miss walking in and talking with a person. Nowadays, our banks have like 2 people working there, virtually a ghost town. I used to be a lobby assistant and kept the withdrawl, and deposit slips filled in the marble counters. I was still in high school but man, getting to work at that bank was magical!
Rita, I am go glad your son is getting the help he needs and the situation is less scary. One of my aunts on my mommas side, her whole family seemed to have mental health issues. I just remember her family of 7 kids, they were all so smart and very intellectual for their ages, and as they got older their paranoia/schizophrenia tendencies became apparent. 😔. I believe many of my cousins are on meds for it.
Today was shopping day, and husband and I kind of went overboard. But we had fun, and I talked with about 5 different ladies about this and that. I bought some pre made mushroom ravioli, and I will mix with sauteed mushrooms, onion, and make a light cream sauce for them. I might put in soup too. I also got frozen jumbo shrimp (also smile at the oxymoron🙃😁 of that). I bought some pine nut hummus, love that. I have berries to make a pie, but I think I will make some sort of tart.
I'm enjoying immensely this free movie site. My tablet is big enough that watching movies on it is fine. Presently have:
The Unsinkable Molly Brown
Calamity Jane
Hamilton
Funny Face
Stanley Tucci/ Searching for Italy (food series)
Saturday Night Fever
Rent
I just bookmark them. The site is called :Moviestowatch.tv
I notice many of the movies I want to watch are on channels on our tv that we don't have. So this site is perfect.👍💖
Hugs ladies!

When DB comes with another story just tell him to go read the Boy who Cried Wolf walk away and do something for yourself that makes you feel strong. Bridges are burned.
I also try remember what my aunt said to me fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.
Your mom will not see him for what he is. All you can do is try to do what actions are available legally to protect her and yourself and refuse to let him any power over you.4 -

Kim ... what a debacle. I'm wondering what your brother's motives are for getting Tim involved and allowing him to see that the cancer diagnosis was a farce. I understand your need to move on, not cause more stress for your mother or nephew. Praying for you as you deal with this newest betrayal and hurt.
This morning I worked outside doing things that should have been done last fall. I completely mangled a virburnum double-file shrub cutting it back into a manageable height/shape. We'll see if it survives. Then I went to physical therapy. I should sleep well tonight!

Kim, I must admit, I thought your brother was doing very well for someone that had been diagnosed as terminal.... I don't have anything to add to the wise words that others have already said, and I too am glad that you and your nephew are seeking counseling. As for your brother, words do fail me and I sincerely hope that Karma comes along and gives him a HUGE bite right on his "kitten" (and that's me saying "kitten", save MFP the trouble! lol)
Katla, happy that your new chairs have both arrived now!
Rita, I'm very happy that your son is back on a more even keel. They are our babies til the day we die for sure!
Allie, while I'm sure you love every minute that you get to spend with the little guy, I'm happy to read that you are going to dial it back a bit on Tracy's days off. And why are you having to drive Carmine back and forth to school? I remember that they had blown you off a couple of times in order to walk home with friends, they should be doing that more often! I get the guitar lessons if they are a bit out of the way or whatever but the rest, well..... Also happy for them and Kyle and the Six Flags park day. As you said, it's always been their thing and since their relationship was a little rocky there for awhile, it sounds like it was a good thing for the two of them to spend some time together.
I'm pretty sure there were many more posts I wanted to comment on, but these are the only ones that stick out at this time.
Hugs for those needing them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the newbies!

My mom made bread in the breadmaker and it was a fail. It came out risen to the right size, but immediately collapsed down to half that. I cut it in half after cooling, and the bottom inch was properly bread like, with a decent crumb, but most of it was raw dough, not baked at all. I think it was a breadmaker fail, and we should get a new one. My dad is convinced it was bad yeast, so I told him to Google proofing the yeast. So he is happy down there playing with warm water and yeast.
If the yeast is good, I guess we can try the recipe again to make sure it wasn't a missing ingredient. But I'm pretty sure it was the breadmaker failing to bake properly.

Well shouldnt have taken such a late nap,but oh well..leaving the windows open although with the trees budding don't know if thats a great idea or not.but it sure does feel good.
Going to take the older carseat at Margarets suggestion to Target and get a 20 % off coupon for a umbrella stroller for me to keep in my car.. something smaller that grandma can handle..1 -
Worked today then after the soup kitchen worked on opening the pool (yeaaaaa). Took a walk to the vet to get a med for Loki. Vince was astonished that I’d walk. What’s the big deal?
Tomorrow will be my first day working on a Saturday. Hope this doesn’t last real long
Kim – OMG is all I can say. Glad you are getting counseling. How horrible to put everyone thru!
Katla – can’t wait to see the new chairs
Right now copying VHS tapes that we have onto DVD’s.

22: Enjoy moving to your favorite music. Really go for it. Passed on opportunity to dance with friends at local brewery’s 30th anniversary celebration. Just not there yet.
Kim your “protect your mom” advice to Annie reminds me of a thought that flitted through my mind this morning. Is there a way to do a title or other check on your mom’s property to make sure nothing has been done that could put her out of her home?
Karen, hope your sense of Tim is on target. Would be a blessing.
Lanette the skillet.
Rita ((hugs))
Katla thanks again and forever for the hummingbird feeders recommendations. Gives Joe joy and excitement and something to talk to me about. Thank you, thank you thank YOU!
Heather If I were the bank’s CEO, I’d pay attention to whatever Johnny wrote. Bet it’s superb! Anger->grief? Think my anger’s middle name is fear…
Allie you are so casual about the unauthorized use of your credit card. I’d be flipping out. Well done on the fraud alert.
Rebecca that was when banks looked like banks! Thanks for the moviestowatch.tv I’ll finally be able to watch Julie & Julia
Margaret, what you said to Kim.
Pip how are you feeling? Your stats are so impressive, so soon after surgery.
Evelyn :…hope Karma comes along…” amen, sister, amen!
Michele I can picture you doing your happy dance in the pool.
Helped my friend C with Bingo at the Elks. Not my gambling thing but fascinating to see the range from first timers to the regulars with their bags to carry daubers and lucky charms set up “just so.”
Gorgeous day today and very little wind so snuck in a little salal snipping while down at the powerline meadow with the dogs.
Lighter, lovelies!
