I found this interesting this morning. A reminder of how fascinating it is to really get to know another person. We are just not listening hard enough to our loved ones.

Rain is a bit variable. I'm hoping for a dry spell for the outside tea/dinner with my friend G. DH is having a fry up for himself. :D

Kylia ~ I love your granddaughter's red hair. A really good looking group of young people.

Lanette ~ Zipping around on the mower sounds like fun!

Karen ~ Your brother's art is lovely. Wonderful blend of colors.

Summer rain and thunder storms in Georgia today!

Heather - great to hear you were watching reruns of Poirot and Death in Paradise. Two of my favorites.

    Monday

    Work - of course
Still sorting things out in the aftermath of my phone fiasco last week.
Got another large document finished tonight and sent it.

But I finished the large document while watching Death in Paradise and Poirot, sitting in my chair in my comfy clothes ... so that's almost like relaxing.

Snow down to 400 metres tomorrow ... chilly and windy. Winter!

I've had to dig through my closet to see what I have in the way of pants ... slacks. I so rarely wear them!

Machka - gosh, that's right! Now I remember! :D Aren't those shows great? Are you able to get any others like "London Kills" - interesting plotting. And I ran across a British sitcom called "Kate and Koji" starring Brenda Blethyn of Vera. Really liked that one too.

So interesting hearing about your weather down under - your winter is approaching and our summer is, well, somewhere, lol. At least here in the Pacific NW. I think in the southern and southwestern US summer has been there for months.

Yes they are. We get a lot of British programming here which suits us. Tonight was As Time Goes By and Midsommer Murders. :)

Tomorrow will likely include Father Brown.

June 1 is the first day of winter here. Sometimes we won't have anything particularly wintery until July but this year, winter decided to roll in right at the start. Heaps of snow at higher elevations, lots of rain at lower elevations. Wind and chilly temps.

I'm kind of scrambling to find suitable clothes.

Most of the time when winter strikes, I've lost weight over summer, but the sedentary nature of my current job hasn't been good for my weight so I have to try on things in my closet to see if I can find something that will fit comfortably.

    Happy Hump Day! <3

New ladies and those who aren't comfortable posting photos of grands, we also ooh and ahh over pix of your pets, flowers, vacations, ancestors, etc. ;)

Carla - you have an important job - how sad the principal wants you shoved away like that. Too many managers either don't appreciate or have a clue about what the support staff does. I like the idea of you working from home all the time - getting away from that toxic environment sounds good, doesn't it? Crossing fingers! I "hung in there" at my last job to boost my retirement a little.

Kylia and Lisa - guess who mowed the back yard yesterday on the zero turn mower? There are at least 3 dozen trees of all sizes and flower beds (weed beds) DH installed, so I got a lot of practice doing zero turns, lol.

My great neighbor came by in the early afternoon and gave me another lesson on the mower, plus mowed the front yard and ran to the filling station and filled up the gas cans.

Looks like "drunk mowing" but at least it's just about all done. Still have half an hour at the back of the property near the trees under the powerline, if it dries off enough this afternoon I'll get that done. Need to practice backing up more. And thinking of getting a walk behind gas mower. I have wanted one for years, DH always poo-pooed it, not sure why. He probably had a good reason, so will do research before I pull out the credit card.

Kylia - are you sure those are pix of your grands? Great looking group, they resemble their beautiful young looking grandmother Kylia who must have gotten married at age 10. :D

Vicki - I was actually happy to hear you investigated another job. I used to do that a lot. I often was looking for a new challenge, just something different, etc. It generally brought me around to gaining new appreciation for the job I had. I'd list the pros and cons of the new job vs. my current job. Current job won out and I stuck it out until retirement.

Beth - I was glad to read you got the POA's set up for your folks. I think with elderly couples, they feel they need to stick around for each other. When one of them passes, they are freed up from that responsibility in a sense. Glad the headstone arrived for your son and you were able to get some closure with that part.

Debbie - thanks for sharing those photos of your walk! Great you were able to meet up with your daycare girl. A jumbo jack in the box sounds yummy!

Karen - thank you for sharing your brother's latest painting. I have a lot of respect and admiration for people who are so talented with brushes and paint!

Pip - what are you going to store in that cute blanket chest? Great job! My favorite colors!

Annie - good for you getting your dumbbells done. When Mr. Toe gets better I need to get back doing that too, plus the ankle weights. All of my weight equipment lives in the potting shed, I'm going to find a place in the house now to store and use it. I had too many months of sitting in the house (mostly due to weather - the potting shed was COLD!) and feel so stiff and sore when I get up in the morning.

Also I just realized I can watch Youtube Tai Chi videos on the Roku TV :o

Rebecca - LOL at your nakee photos. I dare you to post one, maybe you can somehow blurr the "personal" parts to make it OK for family viewing. :D Great tans!!

Barbara - yes I saw Dr. Campbell's presentation on the Zoe project. Several years ago prior to the pandemic, I was ready to sign up for the "American Gut Project" where you sent in a sample and they analyzed it, gave you the results and added to the database. I think there was a small fee. They stopped it when the Covid hit. Not sure they have resumed, but their website is going again: www.mymicrobiome.info

I learned a lot from Tim Spector's book and try to have 30 different plants per week to keep my gut microbes happy. Kind of went off the rails this past month but now am paying better attention to the grocery list.

Heather - great to hear you were watching reruns of Poirot and Death in Paradise. Two of my favorites. I've become hooked on "London Kills" and the third season has just been uploaded to Amazon Prime/Acorn.

Kelly - I want to be one of your daycare kids. If Elon Musk can invent a time machine, I'd like to be a beta tester. He's probably working on one.

    Better scoot. Hugs all around!

Carla I'm so glad to hear that everything worked out well for you! I was just going to post that OSHA made my school district move me out of the back room because it was not an appropriate place for an office. So I was going to suggest to you to mention that! Now you don't have to!! 😀

OMG PIP! Please tell me you didn't paint those flowers freehand. I will be SO JEALOUS. That box is just beautiful. So what amazing treasures are going in there?

Mary! Tracey! Barbara! Michele! Lanette! EVERYONE!!!
I do TRULY LOVE MY JOB so.............. GOOD NEWS!!!

Well… I sorta went off on KellyC (poor thing) cuz she’s the one who I’ve worked with for almost a decade and she’s the one who showed me the room. Asked her if she'd talked to KellyM (principal) yet and if she'd included Sharon (my boss) because I was "not happy" and had had a terrible night last night and was already looking for a new job or retiring. YUP... I told her, then I also gave her my issues with the room and some other things, again poor thing, cuz it's not her fault. SO........ I got this email response from her!!!

"I am so sorry you felt horrible after yesterday. I talked to Kelly M. today and she forgot to tell me that the district buildings/grounds people came over on Friday and said that it could not be used as an office space even though it had previously been used that way. You will be in a new office that is being built across from where my old office was located. So in that locker bay there are going to be offices added on and that is where you will be. It isn't built yet so there is nothing to show you but that should be better. I hope that makes you feel better. She felt horrible for not connecting with me sooner, but they had to figure out plan B. Our Sped staff originally was going to have this new office but she made the change to it being for you."

THANK GOD! So it’s first floor, right down the hall from KellyC, right down the hall from the AT library where I work with her, just down the other hall from the lunchroom and bathrooms and staff center... so it will actually be just about perfect and it will be brand new!

Slept so much better last night. Thank you ALL for your words of encouragement and love and support. As I said, I really, truly do love my job. I just didn't like who I was going to be working "for" in the future, at that moment. (even though, being in her building, I wasn't ever going to be working "for" her... Sharon, Sped Director, will always be my boss... thank GOD!)

Carla........... peacefully happy again, in MN

R u fricken crazy??? Of course not, those are appliqués that I bought. Lolololol

And just to clarify to those who were insulted ... nowhere did anyone say that your photos were offensive.

Also to clarify I do not believe anybody at least I wasn't insulted. Voicing a different opinion does not mean you have been insulted it just means you have a different opinion about the topic.

Carla ~ Great news for you! :) Aside from working in a broken down trailer (rain water gushed through the walls, tiles on the floor warped, florescent light bulbs shattered from the ceiling onto a student's desk), the other worst place I worked was on a stage in the old, old school building. I resigned (retired) when they wanted to put me back in that same trailer with a teacher who was manic depressive (had worked with her for 20 yrs). Guess they did that to get me to retire! :s

Anyway, I hope your new space will be great and you will be working with folks you enjoy being around.

Wowsa that sounded nightmarish! My worst job was at a gym on Yokosuka Navy base. They had a pack of wild cats that's could get into the attic and other places. They had traps out for them, but the only evidence of them was fleas. I had so many bites! I quit when summer was in full swing and so was the flea situation.😒🙄

Lanette, Heather, Katla was it you who mentioned Dr. Tim Spector’s work on the gut microbiome? Looks like he’s associated with a Zoe study that Dr. John Campbell has just signed up for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2GfN-wyPDY

Welcome @MaryQueena! What Beth said. We have many loving discussions which conclude with us agreeing to disagree.
    Welcome @rosenberrypam Pam in MI.
Lisa hope the crown goes on well and stays put.
Barbie loved your “..different ways of screaming, pooping and smelling…” advice to Allie. That is a great mantra.
Julie sad to hear French schools are going the way of all corporations, maximize profit regardless of the consequences.
Michele so glad you got to spend time with PJ, sorry about the swimming disappointment.
Carla Fingers X’d your and Freddie’s searches for other employment net you wonderful jobs with appreciative people and equivalent or better benefits. Your work situation sounds toxic.
Vickie brava for applying, so sorry the insurance situation broke the deal. Likewise hope and pray for another better job offer.
Katla glad you explained the blueberries came from the freezer. I was getting jealous your crop was already ripe, when our wild huckleberries are barely in blossom. ;) So very sorry for your dear friend’s sad loss.
    Allie brava for expediting that delivery. :love: your sense of humor, I’ve never been able to laugh in the face of a mammogram. ;}
I have no children or grandchildren of my own, so enjoy my mfp pals’ grands vicariously. I would be sad to miss those pics, but if their parents preferred not to have them posted to a public forum, like Rita and others, I’d have to respect their decision. Otherwise I’m with Lisa.
    Pip smooch that pooch!
Karen thanks for posting your brother’s latest, breathtaking creation. You have been much in my thoughts lately. Are you still planning a move?
Debbie was that the Napa river? I’m with your friend, I don’t want to be near any s-s-s-nakes!!!
Tracey not only is Michaela an artist, she’s a wit!

Still not accountable, low energy, no enthusiasm.
    Lighter, lovelies!

We have our Zumba class next to the Napa River on Wed. nights but closer to Mare Island- Such an amazing view plus that nice breeze comes through which we all need during our workout.
