Another one bites the dust –l tube of Coppertone, that is.

Worked today. Will probably run the robotic cleaner and wash the floor tonight. Still have to find out what time we’re leaving tomorrow so I know if I can exercise. I’m thinking that I’ll probably be able to but not for that long. But at least I’ll get SOMETHING in. Since we’re coming home early, I’ll go to the gym Tuesday. To be honest, I really don’t want to go to Burger King Tuesday. That’s the day they get their delivery. When I know that the delivery truck will be there the next day, I do things in anticipation. I bet they didn’t so that’ll be more work for me. So I’ll just text the manager Tuesday night and say that we got home early so I’ll be in Wednesday unless I hear from her (which I doubt highly). Besides, we’ll need to cut the grass and if I’m not working we can get started sooner.
Barbara – Jess called Vince yesterday when we were going to bowling and was complaining. Vince just told her not to continue to let it get to her. And you were right, she admitted that she needed to vent. I’m afraid it is too late to reverse the reservations. But at least we are going to go up Labor Day Weekend. I guess I can try to look on the positive side (slim as it may be) that hotel rates are cheaper on the weekends! We just told Denise that we have to be in NC on Tuesday so that’s why we’re leaving Monday. So you tested positive? I’m so so sorry
Rebecca – at my gym you still have to make a reservation to use the sauna. There are times when I wish I could. But I never know in advance. You know, next time I’m there, I’m going to ask how much it gets enforced.
Rori – (((BIG HUG)))) So glad you have such wonderful people in your life
kylia – I am so impressed that you can drive a trailer. I feel uncomfortable driving Vince’s SUV, even tho I do. I really don’t want to take it on the highway if I can possibly avoid it. And to pull a trailer! There’s no way I would. Vince says “you’d better not go for a CDL license”. I’m terrible.
Karen VA – sorry about your friend
Michele NC
who is off to the pool. Oh, one tube of Coppertone down!
Ooh you make that reservation, (or see if you really need to make one). Your pores will be happy, as well as your muscles.💖😁

Michele, my favorite sun lotion, well more of an oil was a tube of orange, great scented stuff called, "Ban De Soleil". Loved that stuff, hard to find but its still being made.👍😁

Home sweet home!
The Miata is so small that my DH is only good in it for short trips and not enough room to take stuffs with us to Pigeon Forge. We go for two weeks and generally have a truck bed full of items. Food, alcohol, clothes, misc. We were only gone for one night last night and my DH packed two coolers with snacks, water, and a few beers. Also we had his CPAP machine and his overnight bag. I had a backpack.😉 So those are the reasons we won't be driving the Miata to Pigeon Forge. Plus we wouldn't be able to buy anything while there. Crazy, I know!
The trailer pulls great. I even managed through construction zones and rush hour traffic. I do need to practice backing it up and making tight turns, but otherwise no problems. When I met my DH, I had never driven anything bigger than a car. His dad put me behind the wheel of a large motorhome a few months after we were dating. I drove for 30 mins and actually sweated so bad that I looked like I had just gotten out of the shower clothes and all! My MIL drove after me and asked me if I had peed in the seat !😂😂 Practice is needed. I did back the trailer into the barn which is a curvy and downhill driveway. DH just told me I did a good job.😊
I didn't worry about work at all today. Tomorrow will be soon enough.
My homescreen for MFP just got updated. Might work great on tablet or computer but kind of bunched up on my android.
My niece and her husband closed on their new house in FL on Tuesday and she delivered their little girl this morning. Lena is beautiful!

Sorry, had to post quickly to help DH. If phone moves wrong it loses what I was typing.
My diary doesn't look healthy today. Breakfast was a wonderful vegetarian eggs Benedict with fried potatoes. I could only eat half of it and was full. I have not been hungry all day. The caramels . ....well, I was driving and getting tired. Candy is my husband's love language..smh...
Healing thoughts for those ill.
Thankful our CA ladies are safe.
Thankful for all of your support!

started my day off by going to a lady who is doing a plant sale on Saturday but got to go today- did something I very rarely ever do, I actually spent money on something for me. I bought a bunch of different plants. A few I have been looking for but didn't even think I could get them locally.
Spent the afternoon clearing off a part of the patio for them
Dh brought home dinner from the Japanese place so no cooking or clean up for me tonight
Went walking for an hour and a half with my friend, which we haven't done it in weeks.
12,000 steps so far. Felt really good.3 -
I’ve read and caught up, but didn’t take notes. I just got home from ceramics. I finished the gnome for Rodger. I used acrylics so I need to seal him yet.

Michele, it’s so hard, especially for men imho, to listen to our kids’ troubles and not try to fix them. Sounds like Vince is making progress. Safe travels!
Vickie hope the gym helps you feel better.
Kim and Debbie glad all are safe.
Rebecca my favorite was Sea and Ski back in the day… or baby oil. Burned awfully every summer, one time to the point of blisters. Paid the price with skin cancers/sun damage, but we just didn’t know back then.
Kylia when we had our Miata, we drove from Idaho to the Washington Coast with our mini-schnauzer/skye terrier mix snoozing on the shelf in the back above the well. But yes, as we aged, sitting in (and getting out from) the Miata became problematic and we gave her up.
Katla good days are precious, glad today was one.
Tracey and all you who paint, you have my admiration. No eye-hand co-ordination here. ;}
Lighter, lovelies!

I have a feeling that it is going to be a long journey home for the family. The departure time is only 'estimated' and is projected to take off 40 minutes late. That means more.
It's my son's birthday today. His fancy oils have arrived, so I will be able to give them to him on Sunday at the brunch.
I hope to do some editing today. I allowed myself to get distracted yesterday. I think the Bank Holiday vibe was catching. 😉
Tricolore for lunch and salmon with leek and fennel sauce for dinner. A crisp white wine to accompany, or maybe pink. Friday night is wine night.

Caught up with the May thread, now on to June oh dear already on to P6 and it's only Day 2.
Have to dash, going to the chemist to pick up mums meds. I only hope it is open as I had forgotten it is a Bank Holiday today - as Heather mentioned we are on a four (or five?) day holiday for the Queens Jubilee. Lots of my friends are going to parties, but I have nothing special planned.
After the chemist I'm going to mums to mow her lawn, I'm hoping that DS will do this for me lol, then I can concentrate on doing some cleaning in her house. It is only a small garden at the front so won't take too long, the back garden mind you is a different matter, it is quite large and so overgrown with out of control pampass grass. Not sure how to cut that monster back to a reasonable level.
Well better dash need to get things done before it rains!
Thanks Barbie for starting off the new month

Welcome to the group, Pat. It’s a busy thread, but no need to comment on every thread. Just jump in when something catches your interest.
Morning everyone.
The builders are still here. They are doing a great job, have just one more window to finish.
Once they are gone, we can get in with planting up the containers for the terrace with summer bedding.
We had a gorgeous afternoon on Wed revisiting an very interesting restored garden. Two ladies share the project. They have restored an old mansion, and done a barn conversion, and then started work on the garden. (About 3 acres)
This week I am enjoying the blossom on the laburnum, and continuing with my veg planting.
No time for specific comments today, as the builders will be arriving shortly, and it could get rather noisy 😝
🥳🎉 Cheers to all those celebrating.
Virtual (((hugs))) and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.

I told him my eyes have been tired lately and he had his staff adjust the frames. They were bent and because of all of the masks over the last 2 years they had loosened. I think they will feel better in a day or two.
I went to the dollar store to buy a little 2lb dumbbell for my tennis elbow exercises. I got up to the register with an armful of things and they tell me it’s cash only, their machines were down. I ended up walking across 3 parking lots to an ABM to get cash and then walking back. It was nice to get the walk in.

My eyes have been getting better gradually in recent years.
Well done on the walk!Well today is my first day without my sling.now I start the exercises that I can remember that I did for the shoulder, the pain begins. Still reading the journals when I have a minute. I’m on July/august 1895 and we have moved to Chico California. It’s getting harder to read.
When I mentioned something in the journal to kirby the started to get upset saying I am just dwelling on the past and I can’t let it go. Right now it’s 5:04am and I just realized that reading this makes me appreciate, acknowledge, and be so thankful of what I have now with him and how far I have come from that time.
How are the exercises going?
I am actually very glad I didn't keep journals when my husband was going through the early days of his injury. I did, however, write emails and lately I've had to read through a lot of emails before the injury and leading up to it for legal reasons, and it is really hard.
I lost my phone two days ago ... left it on the bus ... and had such an incredible meltdown. I don't think it was just about the phone. I think the stress of the stuff I've been reading and dealing with recently all spilled over too.
2 days of very little sleep, very little eating, and lots of tears. I'm absolutely exhausted.
Got my phone back today so I feel a little bit better.Retirement is only 11 weeks away, I'm just a teeny bit excited! Actually, I'm very excited!!! lol

Go for it!!
Does vacation time in Canada still work like it did when I left 13 years ago ... when you start a new job, you drop to 1 week of vacation in the first year?
It's one of the reasons I would prefer to continue working in Australia till the end of my career!!
But maybe you could arrange a few weeks off between jobs?cityjaneLondon wrote: »Today is the start of our extended four day Platinum Jubilee weekend. There is a street party this afternoon and evening.
Both DH and I are of the 'get rid of the lot of them' camp, so all the media madness is a trial, to say the least. I am, by temperament, and conviction, a Leveller. I don't support privilege, honours, royalty, patriotism etc etc. So .... I just have to put my Zen hat on and grin and bear it. I expect I will survive.

Just remember you can get it several times ... you can get each variation at least once. If you got Delta, you could still get one of the Omicron variations ... and then the other Omicron variation ...Do something special for yourself. I won't lie, I plan on picking up some ooey gooey cinnamon rolls and caramels in Little Nashville today. Just have to remember to eat them responsibly. May not get my steps in with lots of driving, but will do the best I can!
❤
Kylia who is grateful for all you lovely ladies!
I haven't had a cinnamon roll in years! They aren't a thing here.Anyway, she wanted to know why we were leaving early. Deep down inside, I think she was sad that we were leaving early. She made mention of the fact that we would take PJ swimming and she'd just stay home and do nothing (which is fine, she deserves it). Vince was evasive as to why we had to come home. He just told her that we had a meeting, nothing she needs to worry about.
Michele NC
I hope you have a lovely day there. Pity about the swimming and day off for Denise.

2022 GoalsMy 2022 goals are a continuation of my 2021 goals.
Upcoming Appointments
Education/Career
Medical
House
Office
Computer
Garden
Spiritual
Fitness/Sports
Cycling
Audax Tasmania
Recreation
House > Office > Computer become more specific as they go along. I have a number of thing which need to be done in the house (sleeping room, dining room, etc.) but most importantly the home office needs a whole lot of work. And along with that I need to organise the drives on my computer into a better filing system.
The goal is to have an organised and decluttered house.
Progress: Crawling forward.
Fitness/Sports > Cycling > Audax Tasmania also become more specific as they go along. There are a number of fitness/sport things I'd like to try, with a focus on cycling, and a large part of my cycling endeavours includes my volunteer work with Audax Tasmania ... and maybe even riding some events again myself!
The goal it to improve my fitness level.
Progress: Not bad. I've been active but the paperwork side of my sport is sliding a bit.
Garden is a very small category because that's my husband's domain but I'd like to finish weeding the place and get some flowers and other plants going to choke out the weeds.
The goal is to have a relaxing and functional area outside for reading, exercise and socialising.
Progress: Making progress!!
Medical is mostly my husband's appointments, which I also need to attend because I'm his ears and cognition.
The goal is to keep him as healthy as he can be.
Progress: Slow and steady.
Education/Career ... little things like becoming really good at SQL, brushing up on VB, and learning data analysis software.
The goal is to expand my skillset.
Progress: Making progress with the new job!!
June ...
FT Work - 5th month of new job. All work in the office now ... dealing with buses and noise.
PT Work as Legal Assistant most evenings and some days. Hahahaha. Kidding ... sort of. Getting tired.
Lots of medical stuff!! Me this time.
Cycling club event, advertising, paperwork, etc.
As much cycling and walking as I can toss into the mix.
A bit of gardening ... unfortunately I can't see the garden when I get home from work anymore.
And whatever I can accomplish from my To Do list.
I have so many meetings and appointments this month!
June 1 - I had 7 meetings that day. Plus work. Plus legal deadlines. I moved one meeting to the next day but I was so stressed and distracted that when I got onto a crowded bus and was being pushed around while trying to pay, I inadvertently set my phone down ...
June 2 - I had 2 medical appointments first thing in the morning. I visited the metro office three times and police station twice. Plus work. Plus legal deadlines.
June 3 - Today is a day off work. Happily, our visit to the metro office was successful this time. No work, but the legal deadlines are always here.
I hope to sleep tonight.

Barbara Your trip sounds wonderful. I do plan on driving my Miata on a few trips but they will be solo ones. I am only 5'2". DH is 6' with a bad back. I am thankful that he enjoys going out in it as much as he does. We have a 2004 Tbird with only 7000 miles on it. I will say I have put most of those on it myself. We did drive it to Pigeon Forge for our honeymoon. We were only there for a week and had friends who drove down. They were kind enough to bring home our purchases. DH did it for me, but was miserable both drives. He prefers enclosed and big. I like little and open. Even in my Flex, I drive with sun roof open most of the spring, summer, and fall when solo. He closes it. They say opposites attract-lol!
Journals and emails- I have never kept them. I start but then get distracted and forget. My mom did keep all the letters I wrote her when I lived in the Philippines. I haven't decided yet what to do with that box which she gave me. I may need to read them to decide if my daughters might want some of them. We will see.....
HeatherUK I have had a fascination with Englandand Royalties since childhood. My friend Jayne moved to my street from England. I loved the comics she recieved from there about the doll hospitals. I do remember if the outside temperature was above 40 degrees, her mom made us play outside. Barbies in a blanket fort. They moved a couple years later and we lost touch. Hard to stay in touch when only 8 or 9 y/o.
Machka No cinnamon rolls?!?!? Is my first reaction. Then I realized they weren't a thing in the Philippines either. I made them from scratch back then. My Filipino friends enjoyed them . I did weigh less back then, but I was early 20's, walking everywhere, and taking care of two young children . Lol!
Better get ready for work.
Hugs to all!
Make the best choice you can at the moment!

Good morning ladies!
Nothing special planned for today. I bought my mother a divided pill box, in hopes that if I fill it, I won't have to get up for her pills in the morning. Plus I want to get away overnight in August. Hope she can manage it.

We don't really have donuts either. There are donut-like-objects but they are usually dry as dust with a rather ghastly icing or a sugar that just falls off.
The apple scroll is about the closest thing to a cinnamon roll, but it is usually hard as rock without much flavour.
Sweet stuff here tends to be creamy and flavourless ... like the French vanilla slice and custard tarts, neither of which I like. Or rock hard or dry without much flavour. I've had to experiment a lot over the years with a lot of disappointing results.
However, I have discovered I like gluten-free brownies. They are usually soft with flavour.

This was a cinnamon bun stall in Gothenburg, Sweden. We didn't buy one there, but we would often share one when we took a coffee break on our walks around town. The coffee break is called a fika, and is almost sacred over there.
My son's plane is in the air. Just over an hour late. Crossing fingers for a smooth Gatwick arrival.
Did my editing this morning!

Did part of Shape’s Ultimate Bikini Body DVD. No plans for exercise tomorrow since we are supposedly planning to leave around 8. Not sure Vince is going to be ready, tho. Tomorrow I MAY get a chance to go for a walk, not sure.
Rebecca – I’m never sure when I will get to the gym to make the reservation. I know my body loves when I go into the sauna. A lot depends on what time I get out of work or the soup kitchen. I know me, and I can’t come home directly from work, I have to go to the gym from work or it doesn’t happen. Like I said, I’m going to ask if they’re still holding to the reservation thing. As far as sunscreen – I have to look at the ingredients in the sunscreen. Jess is highly allergic to coconut. Like I know I can’t use Banana Boat since it has coconut oil in it. Coppertone doesn’t so that’s why I go with coppertone. I just have to check the ingredients. One time I bought her vitamins. Who would think vitamins would contain coconut oil??? Not me, that’s for sure. So I bought them, she had one, and her throat started to close up. She wound up giving them to a neighbor who had small children
Lisa – I’ve used this stuff called Krud Kutter for Red Clay. It works fantastic! That red clay is a b**** to get out of clothes, it stains everything. Yet, this gets it out. Well, I tried it on our brick and even that didn’t take it out. Maybe I need a higher powered pressure washer.
Probably not going to have a good day with food today or tomorrow since we’ll be at Steve’s and I know he likes foods that aren’t that good for you (like fried chicken). Well, I’ll just be careful. Like I’ll take the skin off the chicken.
Tracey – what a great job on that gnome! I see you don’t need the “five foot rule”. What do you use to seal it? I know at the place we go to they spray it with something (I don’t know what it is since I don’t use acrylics) and then put it in some sort of kiln for a few minutes.
Barbara – one time (maybe 40 years ago) I fell asleep in the sun and, boy, did the backs of my legs blister. To this day, that is why I use a timer. I never want that to happen again!
Pat – welcome! Of course you’re welcome. But don’t get overwhelmed. Just comment on things that interest you.
Oh, we were going to get fried chicken and macaroni & cheese for steve’s “picnic”. Only he just texted me that he’s ordered fried chicken and he’s not sure that I can use the oven since he has other things that need to be baked. I suspect that’s more of his way of being nice and not having us buy something. Anyone have a suggestion of something we can buy? I’m thinking maybe a fruit dish. Wonder if a store can cut up a watermelon for me. Then again, watermelon isn’t in season.
Katla – being retired, I need the calendar. So glad you found yours. I’d be lost without mine. All my exercise, meals, not to mention commitments are on there. Yes, the commitments are on a google calendar Vince and I use, but not the meals or the exercise
Well, it’s 8:30, and we’re still not on our way. Well, I’m not driving.
